I bought this based on the generally great reviews on MUA. It's a nice set of basic neutrals that give you more of a finished look than one that truly adds color! I like to use it when I am trying to go for a "clean" look, or play up some other aspect of my makeup, like eyeliner or a bolder lip color. It's not an HG for me, as I do think NARS shadows are nice but rather dry. I don't think I will use this up for some time, and I will still look for HG neutral shadow(s), but for now I say I will repurchase this.

Pretty shades, but i have a million just like them. I always get annoyed at the packaging -- 2 days after i throw it in my makeup case, it looks totally smudged and dirty. Won't buy again.

This is a really good basic duo to highlight. A shimmery beige and a less shimmery beige. They are pretty similar to each other though. I find myself reaching for this one alot, its just not unique.

I'm a big fan of this duo. It consists of 2 neutral beige shades. One is a shimmery light beige color, while the other is a satin light nude color. I'm a neutral e/s wh*re so, I definitely needed to have this duo in my kit. The eye shadow itself applies smoothly and silky and lasts all day with the proper eye shadow base (I love Urban Decay primer potion). While some darker skinned ladies may have a problem getting this color to show up, it shows up nicely on my LLL olive/yellow skin tone. I love to use the darker color on the lid and the lighter on the brow bone and highlighter. The darker color also looks lovely as a subtle cheekbone highlighter. The duo itself is pricey, but worth it in my opinion. Definitely check this duo out the next time you stop by the NARS counter.

I feel compelled to share my views. I'm not a stranger to the temptations of NARS's overpriced sheer neutral-looking iridescent eyeshadows. I currently own Edie and I'm not sure why. I will probably buy this one eventually too. Mostly because everyone is so excited, and I want to be excited too.
I'll just keep it in my cabinet and take it out and look at it. Perhaps getting to the bottom of this color's appeal will somehow bring me closer to Francois? Or at least help me understand why he made me look like shiny crap in front of all those people at Sephora!!!!!!!!!!! Our love must remain tragically unconsummated.
Extra points for a great name. The scheming, backstabbing ingenue. Timeless. This reminds me of my foul-mouthed mother's favorite bastardized phrase, "She looks like s*** wouldn't melt in her mouth."

I just had to try the frequently talked about NARS e/s duo All About Eve. It is really as great as everyone says it is.
The NARS website describe it pretty good, it's a duo with flesh colored neutrals. One is more like matte satin (it has more peach in it than the other one) and one is more shimmery and less peachy. Before purchasing it I was a bit afraid that it wouldn't show up much on my lids because I am a pale blonde but that turned out to not be a problem.
It's a great duo for that neutral classic look. A must have in a gal's e/s collection. The staying power is great, and so is the pigmentation and texture. The packaging is classic chic! I love to use it with some brown e/l and black mascara for that classic everyday look. I agree with another reviewer who wrote that it is the little black dress of makeup. That is so true!
The only downside is the price. It is a bit expensive.
For reference: I'm a pale blonde w/ blue eyes.

This looked like nothing on me. I'm a NW20-25 (winter) and NC30-35 (summer) and this really looked like NOTHING on my lids. I give it 3 lippies for the excellent quality and cool packaging.

Love this duo. It's my go-to when I don't want to look too made-up. I use it pretty frequently. It looks good on its own or with a dark brown liner on the water line. I like pairing it with a bronzer all over the face(like NARS Laguna) and a golden/bronzy blush (like MAC Trace Gold).
For reference, I'm a C2 with blond hair and blue eyes, and I feel like it goes very well with my skin tone.

I used to love this. But than I realized I can get the same look but richer and more pigmented from MAC Shroom and Jest. AAE is great in theory but the colors barely show up and I have very pale skin so if its not showing up on me....thats just a bad sign. MAC Shroom and Jest > Nars AAE Duo.

I'm changing my mind about this one. The colors don't really show up on me, but they even out my lids, and are great for blending with other shadows. There are similar shadows in the market, but there's nothing like the texture and glow of these. The shadows give off a natural-looking shine. I don't build these shadows up for pigmentation, as it's impossible with these, and I don't like to see lids caked with powder. These are not for that purpose.

Duo is 2 light peach tones, about the same shade, one satin-y, one more shimmery. Just a good basic shadow, looks great with BB espresso gel liner & black mascara. Excellent clean and classic look. However, a bit pricey, can get similar shades for much less $$.

All about Eve is the perfect warm neutral peachy beige that looks good blended next to just about any other color ever discovered, really. The texture of these shadows is fabulous, the staying powder lasts (my day from start to finish is a good 20 hours, and my Nars shadows always stay perfect without creasing or dissapearing,so I will spend my hard earned bucks on Nars). This is an eyeshadow wardrobe MUST. Its the little black dress of makeup!

These are easily blendable; shades are ethereal too. Paired w/ a winged trace of liquid back e/s, lots of black mascara and red l/s, assures a sophisticated and professionel look.I'd define them as champagne shades, one being shimmery and the other silky, and i use the 1st one as highlighter below brow and the 2nd all ver lid.
But then again there are much better MUAers to make this description!!
Up-date: just realized i can't wear this on its own, as it gives me a washed out look, but as base for other looks it's awesome; the trick is using a darker shade on crease for creating depth.
For reference, i'm wearing AAE on its own on the pic

My NARS Afterglow/Warm palette came with the AAE duo. For the looooongest time I had the biggest lemming for this. I've read so many rave reviews on this and it really sounded like a must. Unfortunately, this was a disappointment. I have NC25 skin and this barely shows up on me. The satin shade turned a kinda ashy peach on my lids and instead of brightening my eyes, it seemed to pull them down and make me look tired. I do like the shimmery shade more - it's really nice all over the lids. I use that side more than the satin side for sure.
Update: This duo is slowly growing on me. I can now relate to what others have said about this being a no-brainer shadow for those hurried mornings. I'm upping this by one lippie.
AAE duo is the pans on the top left

I think I only bought this because of the hype, because I have my Dior Incognito quad for neutral eyeshadow. But here I am, with the quite well named flesh-toned neutrals that I've been wearing for the last week. This is a nice shadow set to have, plus I'm starting to be a Nars collector, I think, and it'll probably last me a while because I don't use much. I listened to ghost's review and sprayed it after I was done and it looked much less powdery and much more nice. So, I might buy it again. But we'll see when I'm done. Overall, I like it. :)

I call this the 'I want to look like I'm not wearing eyeshadow, but want something' color. Has enough sparkle and a nice neutral color that works well for the 'I'm not wearing any make-up' look.

I do not understand why all this hype for this duo. I like MAC Shroom/Naked Lunch or BobbiBrown champagne in shimmer wash better. The staying power is not so good either. It's packaging is good and that is the only thing I like about it. Definately not worth the money for me atleast

I bought this on recommendation from the MUA community. I asked for some nice neutrals, having bought the usual Stila Kitten and MAC Naked Lunch, Shroom, and Phloof!. I wasn't impressed upon opening it up but did find it's purpose in life. I use this as my wake me up eyeshadow when I want nothing neither dramatic or bright. It makes me look awake and "finished". I have alot of neutrals in my MU case, as I am fair with a rather vivid shade of red hair, however, this is a lovely set of E/S and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a nice neutral. However, like another MUA'er said, the price could be reduced.

My initial impression of All About Eve was: meh....another boring neutral that will not show up on my lids. However, after playing around with it for awhile, I realized what a staple this was in my "makeup wardrobe." AAE is perfect for wake-me-up eyes. The satin side is gorgeous and so versatile, with a lovely, smooth texture. I like to either use it as a brightening base or wet on the lids paired with a deep bronzey liner. The shimmery side is great as a browbone and inner corner highlighter and when used wet, is positively luminous. When used with a light hand, it also looks wonderful as a cheekbone highlighter as well. Both shadows work great as diffusers for eye looks that come out too dramatic or dark. Staying power is top-notch with no creasing or fading. Packaging is superb NARS quality -- I've dropped this tons of times on hardwood floors, and it hasn't broken or chipped yet! One lippie off for the price (it really could stand to be cheaper), but overall, a good splurge if you need a pair of no-fail neutrals.

I use this more than any other eyeshadows I own. It's great for day/natural makeup but also goes well when used to blend other colours together or as a highlight for smokey eye looks. I like that it's shimmery but not over the top and the staying power is excellent. It's very soft and blendable too.
