I was given very generous samples of this shampoo. I am so glad I did not buy the full-size product. I have medium-thick, soft curly hair. I think my scalp reacts to excessive essential oils and fragrances because it flaked out. It weighed my hair down and did not feel smooth at all. I'm not changing my Redken, it seems...

The smell of the shampoo is weird. it is a mixure of smells slightly flowery? im not really sure how to describe it. It smells okay but it doesnt smell great. Its smells like plants but not really in a flowery way. The shampoo made my hair more elastic and strong but it made it slightly dull and didnt make my hair feel light and weightless. Thus i probably wouldnt buy it again.

OK, I love Aveda. The Smooth Infusion line is magical. I just got my hair cut today at an Aveda salon and my stylist washed and conditioned my hair with Shampure. Holy stink! I actually had to wash my hair when I got home because I could not stand the smell. My friend also commented that my hair didn't look shiny or clean as soon as I got back from the salon. I'll be sticking to Aveda's Smooth Infusion line.

I do like this product, but it's a bit too heavy for my fine hair. The fragrance and lather is wonderful, but I always feel as though it doesn't get my hair completely clean. I use it twice a week as an alternative to the Rosemary Mint shampoo (to make sure I don't dry my hair out, as I wash it daily), but I think it would make a much better daily shampoo for someone with thicker, drier hair than mine.

I first brought this for my 12 year old sister as she was having problems with her thin and greasy hair. After seeing the results my other sister wanted to try it too, and it was amazing on her thick and curly hair! I was using John Frieda's Red shampoo and developed very large and sore spots on my scalp, so I decided to try the Shampure. I will never change my shampoo again! My scalp is no longer flaky and spotty, and the colour in my hair has lasted for months. It is shiny and smells lovely, the one drawback being that it does nothing to control my frizz, but I am using Aveda's smoothing styling products which are great too! Aveda hair products are brilliant and worth the money!

This shampoo left my fine, straight, slightly oily hair dry, weighed-down, and unmanageable. I also wasn't fond of the herbally fragrance. It's just not for me.

So I've been using this for a few months now, and I love it. At first, the scent deterred me- a little nail polish-esque, but it's grown on me. This shampoo is cleansing and moisturizing without drying my hair out too much- my hair took some time to get used to it (got a little dry on the scalp and whatnot), but once it adjusted, I was quite happy with the shampoo.

After months of using a combination of Dove, L'oreal, Victoria Secret and Wella shampoo (i'm a drug store junkie so I tend to buy different kinds of things when new stuff comes out), I was really not happy with the condition of my hair and scalp. The hair was all dry and massive split ends everywhere but the scalp was oily! I was searching for an alternative when my friends recommended Aveda. I bought a medium size bottle of Shampure, Balancing shampoo and Rosemary Mint shampoo. It costed me $56 for three bottles of shampoo but after just one wash I felt it was worth every cent of it. My hair was clean but not dry and brittle, it felt soft and smooth. I got my shine back not the greasy and oily on the crown of my head. I'm going back to the store to get the big bottle.

I just purchased Shampure a couple of weeks ago and I have noticed a real change in my hair since using this shampoo. My hair is markedly more shiny and has more movement and bounce to it. The fragrance (which is why I bought it in the first place) does not last once my hair dries, but I really am surprised at the improvement in my hair's appearance. My color seems to be washing out more slowly, too.

I lose lots and lots of hair when I use this shampoo. Also, the smell is no good and my scalp gets itchy. Not a big fan of the scent either.

This is a very decent shampoo, and I love the scent. However, I found that both this product & the conditioner irritated my scalp. My skin is relatively sensitive.

Love the smell and love that I don't have to wash my hair everyday when I use this. No itchy scalp, no feeling like I HAVE TO wash my hair after one day. Only dislike - if I use this for an extended period of time, my hair gets dry.

My favorite shampoo in the Aveda line, based just on scent. However, it is not very friendly to color-treated hair. I notice my color fades twice as fast when I use it rather than Color Conserve. Will continue to use it when not coloring my hair - definately.

I was really dissappointed in this product. I have normal, long hair which doesn't require much maintenance. I was looking for a product more on the organic side. I used this shampoo and conditioner for a week. By the end of the week my hair was terribly dry and you couldn't run a brush through it without running into knots and tangles. Luckily I just purchased the travel sizes so I didn' lose too much money. I have since changed to H20's Milk Shampoo and Conditioner and think that they are great products.

I have fine but healthy hair and was looking for a regular shampoo designed for "normal" hair. This one is much too drying for me, even though I only used it once every two days. After two weeks my ends were really frayed and in need of moisture, which this shampoo (and its conditioner) did not deliver.
Certainly not worth the price for those results.

I adore this! It smells divine. I always feel happy when I use it in the shower. It is a little drying, though, so I wouldn't recommend it for everyday use. It is a basic shampoo, no bells and whistles, but it does the job and leaves your hair clean and refreshed.

I have been regularly using this shampoo for about 3 years and I absolutely love it. Every time I stray (i.e. Brilliant, Clove, non-Aveda shampoos) I regret it and can't wait to return to my Shampure. As far as comments of build-up are concerned, I haven't had any problems. As many have said, the smell is fantastic! It is very strong, but it is always a pleasant scent. I get migraines from overly scented products but Aveda products do not bother me. My hair is quite thick but fine and very long. I love this and the conditioner and I highly recommend them!

my hair - short, highlighted (starting to go grey), very fine, needs washing daily.
scalp - sensitive, can be itchy, prone to spots (YUCK I know it's gross)
skin - very sensitive can react very badly to shampoo.
I usually use scalp benefits but thought I would cautiously give this a try (I'm always cautious because of my sensitive skin) just for a change.
Very, very pleased love the smell (love the scalp benefits smell too but they are very different), no irritation, hair feels fantastic - full of body (which lasts beyond a day), soft (but not in that horrid limp way that fine hair often does), very shiny, didn't need to condition after washing.
