While I was initially apprehensive about using this peel, I was pleasantly surprised by both its effectiveness and gentleness. I left it on for only 1 minute, as per the instructions. It didn't sting at all and left no redness whatsover. (I did a patch test first) I wasn't even sure it did anything until I noticed a patch of dry skin had completely *dissolved*. That's when I realized, yes, it's definitely doing something. It leaves the skin feeling very moisturized and soft, and I think that with repeated uses it can definitely improve the texture and appearance of the skin. UPDATE: This is still a very good peel, but it caused some minor breakouts the second time I used it.

I have sensitive, combination skin - very pale with freckles (IRISH!) I didn't notice a lot of change the first 2 times I used the product, but I vowed to stick with it (got the medium size bottle.) I used it Sundays and Wednesdays religiously - after 4 - 5 times, I really noticed a difference and now I am hooked. I have a couple of freckles that are turning into what appear to be age spots, so I may move to a small bottle for this stubborn little patch. I highly recommend it. I worked up to 4 minutes with this mask - trust me, start at 1 minute and up it every week. Leaving it on for too long is not worth the discomfort the next day. I only really peeled at first (to the point of being noticeable.) The non-soap green tea bar is included, and I loved it so much I bought 2 bars on their website. Good products - you'll pay $100+ per session at a spa for this treatment....

My sister and I have recently started using this product. We both have some hyperpigmentation and are aging (aren't we all?) and we feel we need more than just a mild exfoliant. This seems to do the job. I've only used it twice and find that it has already slightly lightened my "age spots." My skin feels very clean, soft and smooth, and fine lines are are a little less noticeable. After I finish my sample I will update.

Good stuff! This is a very gentle peel. Lasts a long time for me. Very reasonably priced. Good customer service. After I use this my skin in soft and glowing. I then apply CP Serum and the next morning my skin looks firm and glowy. Love it, will purchase again..may even buy the 55% Lactic Acid peel.

I love this stuff so much that I am not even tempted to by the 55% Lactic Acid Peel. Why fix anything that isn't broken? I am almost done with the sample, having done eight or ten peels. When I ran out of the pH solution after the third or fourth peel, I substituted apple cider vinegar. The longest that I will leave this on is about three minutes, but I have pale, sensitive, dry skin. Immediately after I am done with the peel, I slather on Paula's Choice Skin Recovery Hydrating Mask and then put a layer of PC Skin Recovery moisturizer on top of that. My husband calls it "lubing up." LOL! By the morning, though, my skin looks great. I use it every week or two. The fumes from the peel irritate my eyes, but my eyes are fine by the morning. I would never be able to do a peel at any other time of day than right before bed, though. This is real ammunition in my fight against aging skin. Recommend!

I really wanted to like this product. Their website is great, they offer sample-sizes of almost everything, shipping is reasonable, and everyone on MUA seems to love it.
It did nothing for me. I used it just as directed, and I got nothing but very red irritated skin on my chin. No improvement whatsoever, and I don't think I have especially resistant (or sensitive) skin. I used it twice a week for a month, starting at 1 minute and working my way up to 6 minutes, and there is seriously no difference to be seen in my skin except for some really red rough dry patches from the corners of my mouth straight down to my jawline. I quit using it 2 weeks ago and that cleared up (finally), but I see no changes in my skin tone, red marks, skin clarity, or anything else.
I'm glad this works for a lot of people, but don't be 100% certain it'll work for you!

I actually purchased the 55% lactic acid peel thinking I needed the stronger percentage. Boy was I wrong! Oh it works great, you do the big peel and little pimples that were cropping up get zapped overnight. My skin texture and clarity is great, but the peel is VERY strong and not for anyone with sensitive skin, at least not at this concentration. I cannot leave it on for longer then a minute and a half and the one time I tried two minutes it burned me. But from what I've read of other peels this one delivers the goods. Great purchase and I will re-buy.

This is my first time trying at at-home peel. I purchased the sample kit, because 1) I'm cheap and 2) I didn't want to have it sitting on my shelf if it wasn't going to work for me. I was naughty and didn't patch test it, but I had NO problems (despite having sensitive skin). The first time I used it, I only left it on for one minute. But I STILL saw results. My skin was softer, smoother, and my pores had gotten smaller. I had no actual peeling, for which I am grateful. I will purchase this (and other MUAC) products again.

I have used this product twice. I left it on for 3 then 4+ minutes. While I didn't peel, I believe it's better to start out more slowly than I did, having received some very mild irritation/blotchiness (went away in a couple of days). I will drop time down to two minutes - it's plently. My skin feels very clean afterward. Seems to be very safe. I will review with an update in a month.

I am 43 and have somewhat sensitive dry/normal skin, no acne. My complaint is brown spots and rough texture (mild sun damage). After reading the reviews here I purchased the 40% lactic peel. I have used it three times so far, starting with one minute and adding a minute each time as suggested. I didn't expect to see results this soon (usually I'm the one complaining I saw no results while others did)- but I have! My skin texture is definitely noticeably smoother, and the brown spots are absolutely a bit lighter already. I'm so excited! I have used this every 5-6 days or so and plan to continue for the 6-8 weeks recommended (which means I will be ordering a full size, I got the sample first). I'm so glad this at-home product is available! Woohoo! :)

I been using this for 4 weeks now. Can't say there is no improvement, but the improvement is so small & slow, I am probably the only person that can tell!
I didn't peel at all within the last 4 weeks, even after leaving it on for 5 minutes. So I guess I will just finish up what I have, and start searching for something else.

Fantastic product! Though, I believe you MUST have the PH Prep Solution to use this. After I started using the this peel with the vitamin C, the tiny tiny bumpies that I had been looking to erase disappeared!!! For the first time ever, I was SO HAPPY with my skin. Then I switched moisturizers (D*mn you Clean and Clear Morning Glow!!) and broke out, and all my bumpies came back. Prior to that I had accidently spilled the PH Prep solution so my skin is all hell again. *Sigh* I'm writing to MUAC to see if I can get another sample of it so I can continue. Will update again. All in all fantastic results for a while... And my ultra sensitive skin hardly reacted at all! Amazing!

Very impressed with this so far. I just did the first peel, but my skin is absolutely glowing. It came packaged beautifully(I got the sample). Easy to understand instructions. I will be using this as a regular regimen if the results continue as well as this. UPDATE: I have used this a total of 3X's. This is the BEST thing that I have used for my skin. My skin was not bad before but it had a much "rougher" look. It looks significantly more refined and shiny. Also some of the blotchiness is already fading.

Great product, very easy to use, makes a beautiful difference to skin, not irritating. Using this with the Copper Serum has greatly helped balance, soften skin and is taking away wrinkles and just all that junk! on my skin. Never realized how much abuse the skin on our face gets..I feel like the face on a park statue getting a deep clean. Soap just doesn't get it for the urban dweller with all of the daily smoot our face is exposed to from cars, factories, construction. Thanks again to all of the MA reviewers!

I really like this product. I have never had a professional peel done, so maybe I don't know what I am missing, but I think that MUAC 40% Lactic Acid is a GREAT at-home alternative. Last year at the age of 29, sick and tired of break outs and skin that was beginning to age, I ordered this product. The very first time I used it, I noticed improvement in my skin, it was much smoother and looked fresher. I have continued to use this product (rotated with the 30% glycolic acid peel) and have seen a major improvement in my skin tone, texture, and suspectibilty to breakouts. I love this product.

this peel is great if your sensitive to glycolic acid peels or if your just want to try a peel. Lactic acid is great for reducing hyperpigmentation. The vendor shipped quickly It's around $20. I use this peel about every 3 days. It also leaves the skin very soft and smooth. An excellent brightner.

I love the makeup artists choice site because they really edit their product choices down to just the ones that artists need and want to use. This peel is great for anyone that is looking to add a peel to their skin care routine, to refresh their skin and add back a glow. Lactic acid is one of the most mild of all the peels available, because it is highly moisturizing and poses less of a chance of severe irritation. For those that cannot tolerate glycolic or salicyclic acid than lactic is a viable option to choose. This peel produces spa quality results at home, for a fraction of the cost when you factor in how many peels you can get from the bottle. For anyone just experimenting with a peel, you will probably get great results from this. For anyone with tough, thick, very sun damaged or oily skin the results will probably be less favorable since this is a milder peel and will not yield a dramatic result.

I routinely has professional glycolic peel. I bought this peel and try it on my face for 3min the first time, nothing happened. Then I leave it on for 5 min. It burnt my skin. On the website, it said this product should have no irritation but that's certainly not my case. It took me over a week to recover. Moreover, it didn't help to unclog any pores. Nightmare is all I can say.
