Revlon Colorstay liquid foundation is the best thing for my skin. I bought it after reading all the marvelleous reviews and hearing great recommendations from friends that have the same skin issues as I do. I use the one for combination/oily skin and it does for me everything I need a foundation to do. It mattifies my skin, covers the redness and the irregularities, it is non-comedogenic, and lasts a long time. To be honest, I wouldn't say it lasts for 24 hours (like it says on the bottle). In my experience, on the warmest and sweatiest day, it kept my face matte and flawless-looking for about 10 hours, which is quite enough for me. It has great coverage, it doesn't cake my face up and it really does make my complexion look flawless sometime (on a good day, because I do get acne, and when you have small bulges on your face, there's not much you can do to cover those). Also, when taking it off, be sure to take everything off - it really clings to your face even when you don't want it there anymore :) I recommend soaking your face in warm water to melt it a bit and then washing it off with whatever you use for your face. Another one of the perks is that the expiration date is two years after opening, so even if you don't use it as often, yu can still use it up before the date! As for the packaging, I don't find it a problem as most others do. I just tilt the bottle on the back of my hand and use it without any problems.
I do feel that it may be a bit heavy on the skin sometime, so if I need light coverage or if there is no need to have perfect makeup for more than a couple of hours, I use something that's lighter on my face.
In conclusion, I heartily recommend this product to everyone, and especially to those with oily and acne prone skin. This foundation is, in my opinion, a must-have for every make-up lover and "knower".

This is my holy grail foundation!! I adore it. It gives great coverage and by midday I'm not oily, and you can't see much of a shine. My only downside, there's no pump. So getting the product actually is a pain in the butt and can be quite messy if not handled correctly. The smell is tolerable. To me it smells just like paint. It's very build-able. My go ahead if your combo oily, it's a heavy foundation. I wouldn't recommend it if you want a light coverage.

I picked this up in Boots in the UK, for £12.50 and no pump this foundation is a load of crap since it seems all the yellow undertone shades are unavailable in the UK. Or is it just me ? I got matched to true beige when i should really be around a golden biege, the sales assistant at boots was adamant it was a perfect match and i should have dug my heels in but instead i caved and bought it..l and soon as i got home and tried it on in my window mirror, the ashiness just took me back to the days where I wore dream matte mousse at school - in a colour which made people ask me why my face looked grey. Yuck. Probably wouldnt try this again even IF i got given the proper match.

Horrible. I bought this foundation reading all the great reviews here and totally regret it. The colour selection is just awful! There were like 5 shades to choose from. I chose the second darkest and when I applied at home there was the biggest colour difference between my dace and neck ever. The darkest shade is too dark for me. I can't even comment on the other aspects of this foundation because I just took it off and applied my MUFE hd one.

I bought this foundation as I wanted something to suite my combination/oily skin and I quite like it. I found that it gives a full coverage but it can be borderline cakey so I spend time making sure it is well blended even though the blending has to be done quite fasts since it sets quickly. I find that with this foundation I don't need to powder which I like. As time passes I can feel that oil amount is controlled and I don't need to blot. One thing I don't like is that its consistency is quite thick and for the hotter seasons I would prefer something a bit lighter even though the coverage is amazing.

I've tried this foundation out at least 3 separate times now, and each of those periods combined probably equates to a few months of use. I'm always convinced I'm doing something wrong because everyone else loves it! But I've come to accept that it's just not for me.

The main issue for me is that Colorstay is too thick and sets too quickly for me to effectively work with it. Anytime I've tried using it straight, my foundation looks cakey and gross. For a period of time, I would mix this with Revlon PhotoReady to get a better consistency. Then I started putting it on straight out of the shower, after moisturizing, while my skin was still damp. Then I tried mixing my moisturizer straight into it. Each of these methods helped, but required a lot of work and I didn't always get good results. It just wasn't worth it to me in the end.

I did love that this foundation stayed on ALL day, looking perfectly intact by the evening, while keeping my oil in check. However, it would cling so firmly to my skin that it was always a hassle to remove, and was causing me to frequently breakout. Some days it would look flawless, other days it would look really bad. I could never get consistently positive results. I really hate that it lacks a pump, too. I have wasted a ton of product from frequently getting more product out of the bottle than intended. All in all, the cons outweigh the pros for me.

I bought the Oily/Combination foundation. I used this with the POREfessional primer and cfxmatte setting powder and it STILL wouldnt stay on for more than 3 hours! My nose gets very oily and this foundation just couldnt stay on. Plus, this foundation is kinda over priced for a drugstore foundation.

Oh woww, what happened to this foundation? I used to use it a few months ago and i'm pretty sure it was fine, so after months of trailing around trying to find a decent foundation (which I still haven't found :'() I decided to give up and go back to one i'd already tried that was decent. Well, I don't know if this is my mistake or not, but I purchased the combo/oily skin one. I have dry-combo skin so I was thinking this one would be perfect, but recently my skin's dried out drastically.
It was a total nightmare on my face. A disaster to blend, even after spending 10 mins vigorously blending and blending, you could still see streaks, even after doing bits of my face separately. It looked utterly revolting - EVERY single dry patch was like accentuated, it wasn't even...why? :( why why why.
Also, the packaging - why no pump?! the smell wasn't too bad, but it definitely wasn't pleasing/nice - it smelt a bit paint-like? or is that just me?
I hate doing negative reviews sooo much but I am so disappointed. :( The search for my HG foundation continues.

Now I read so many good reviews on this! My skin is combination! This foundation is great once I apply it but after one to two hours, I DO NOT SEE WHERE THE BLOODY FOUNDATION DISAPPEARS! I look at my face in the mirror and I can feel my bare skin! Coverage is not even close to medium! When I saw my photos I was like where the hell is my foundation? After near to two hours, my foundation is disappeared! It's sooooo bad! It seems nothing works on my skin After I read the reviews!

The Revlon Colorstay makeup is by far one of the best I've used. The colors are super great and I can easily find my exact color and it will blend perfectly. Also the coverage is great for me, really heavy and makes my face look flawless. I am not a tinted moisturizer person or a person who likes thin coverage foundations. The Colorstay is almost a perfect match for me. It also doesn't streak or turn super oily at the end of the day. It is one of my a absolute faves, and it is the foundation I use currently.

I bought this foundation about 6 months ago after years of not using liquid foundation. I have the oily/combination skin variety to deal with my oily t-zone. I always apply an oil-free SPF daily moisturizer after cleansing, let it absorb about 10 minutes, then apply the Revlon Photofinish Primer, then a small amount of the foundation and blend with a foundation brush. A light dusting of powder (Physicians Formula Mineral Veil) keeps me pretty matte and shine-free most of the day. The color stays really well, I'm impressed and would buy again. I only wish it came in a tube because I don't like sticking my fingers into makeup but just have to deal with it (this is why I didn't give this gold stars across the board). Note: if I skip the primer, I don't stay as matte. Definite touch up required by lunch.

I'm honestly a little upset about leaving a bad review. I’ve used the Colorstay foundation for a long time now, and have always loved it. It didn’t break out my sensitive, acne prone skin and it kept my oily t-zone shine free all day, without even needing setting powder. I was unaware they changed the formula when I repurchased this product last week, but WOW, what a difference. My skin is red and burning in places as soon as I apply the product, the color oxidizes VERY quickly, and then it disappears altogether by mid-day. I wish I kept the receipt, because for the price, I feel duped. I will not continue using or buying this product in the future.

I have a large container of foundations and Colorstay is the one I reach for. I have used this foundation for about 2 years and am very pleased with it. Other foundations would make my skin oily and others just weren't enough coverage. This coverage is medium to full, which is perfect for me. It does not make me break out. It comes off fairly easily with grapeseed oil (ocm). For a while I applied it with my hands. Then I switched to using Sonia Kashuk multipurpose brush I think? Then I became lazy and thought I got better coverage using my fingers. I just have recently begun using my brush again and thankful that I did. I also use a flat foundation brush and buffer it in my skin and my pores are virtually gone. My skin is a mess and if I were courageous enough to post before and after pictures, I would. It looks like I have good skin with one or two breakout and no redness. It is absolutely amazing and it is my HG until I find another drugstore foundation like this but I don't think any of the ones I've tried come even close to this one! The packaging is okay but halfway through the bottle I have foundation on the lid outside of the bottle, it's a mess! But totally worth it in my opinion. Wish they would put a pump.

HG drugstore foundation, been using for about 7 years on and off. Best for oily or normal skin, IMO. Make sure you
exfoliate regularly and use moisturizer before applying to get best results. since it has a matte finish, I find that if I do not exfoliate, it might stick to some flaky skin or sort of cake around nostrils--but this is only if I need to exfoliate, otherwise it looks awesome. Looks so natural and lasts all day. I have had people express surprise that I am even wearing makeup when I use this one. have tried samples of EL doublewear before, wondering if I should switch--but I felt they were so comparable, I would stick with this less expensive option. Between this and Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer (which I use for casual days), I have my foundation needs covered.

After hearing nearly everybody on the internet rave about this foundation, I decided to try it. I did not enjoy it.

Pros:
Good shade match for my pale skin, Buff was a good colour for me. A tiny bit yellow, but much better than most drugstore foundations.

I like the smell of it, but a lot of people find this off-putting. It is quite strong.

Cons:
The bottle is dumb. Unless you have the precision of a watchmaker or something, it is likely that you will pour out too much product most of the time, which you will then have to try to get back in the stupid bottle or just wipe away, wasting a lot of product. Also, no matter how careful you are, it will end up all up in the lid so it looks horrible and makes a mess when you open it

For me, this formula is not great. It seems so sink into the pores on my cheeks, making them look cakey and awful no matter how I apply it. I have tried fingers, beauty blender, brushes, nope. Any dry patches I have will also be highlighted. Put powder over it and I look like a patchy mess who doesn't know how to put foundation on. Put primer underneath it and somehow it made it worse.

Oh yeah, I also cannot get it out of one of my brushes. Washed it many times. Stuck.

I don't find the coverage to be that great. It might just be the fact that I can't put much on due to the reasons above, but I can't get it to cover my spots well at all.

I don't like the feel of it on my face. It feels heavier than it is somehow, and although I like the smell of it, people with sensitive skin may find this irritating.

So overall a disappointing product for me, and I was so excited to find a cheap foundation that suited my skin as well! I will stick to my Korean BB creams for now I think. Will not be repurchasing.

I really want to love this product with all my heart but I just don't. I owned this foundation once around 2 years ago and went through 2 bottles of it and I believe I liked it then but it has been one of the first foundations I had ever tried so thats hard to judge. I decided to buy this foundation again a few weeks ago after still hearing lots of rave about it. I bought it in the shade 110 Ivory and immediately noticed that it was too pink. I have pink undertones but it was definitely more pink than anyones skin would ever be. The point of foundation is to take down redness, not accentuate it. I was also surprised at how little coverage it actually offered. I got light coverage on the first layer and a light to medium on the second. The Revlon Nearly Naked foundation gives me more coverage than this does. As well...this doesn't last very long. I applied this around 6pm to go to a hockey game and when I got back at around 11, you can see patches where it had worn off my skin. Since it is called 'colorstay' and I bought it in the correct formula for my skin type (normal to dry) I was expecting it to actually last and I powdered and everything! The application wasn't great either- it applied very streaky but I guess that can be evened out by patting your skin. The only good points I can really think about with this foundation are that it is not irritating to my skin and did not break me out. I just really didn't like this and am unsure about where all this 'full coverage, long lasting' craze comes from. Would not repurchase.
