I have bought this product numerous times in the darkest brown(3) and I have had the best of luck with it. It makes my hair look very shiny and feel so soft but most importantly the color is very intense which is great! I love this product and will definitely continue to use it. My hair looks healthy and rich and even though it turns out a little bit darker than the box says, it still looks amazing. I constantly receive compliments on my hair.

I used 5A - medium ash brown - to cover up the mess that was my ugly, faded, uneven salon red brown hair. I initially looked for the Natural Instincts version but the 2 boxes at Walmart had been tampered with (one tube had burst) so I decided to try Healthy Look.

Mixing was simple enough. The scent reminds me faintly of cat pee though. Gross. I don't like that it has to be applied on dry hair. I had to get my mom to do it for me and while she used 2 boxes, she still didn't get it everywhere so I have a few lighter pieces underneath. Obviously not the products fault. LOL

Rinsing was the usual, add water and lather and rinse until water runs clear. I had to use the entire tube of conditioner because my hair was a knotty mess. Tried to get the knots out in the shower to no avail. Combing it out after was difficult too and I had a lot of breakage (previous bleach job to blame, I'm sure). My hair felt very sticky so the comb wouldn't go through nicely and once I did get it through it got knotty immediately. Ridiculous!!

After drying it was hard to brush through again. I put my hair in hot rollers as I had a wedding to attend. My hair looks matte, not shiny but I sort of like it (for now). I'm hoping once the "residue" washes out it will be more shiny.

While I like the colour, it is WAY darker than the picture. But, we know that we can't go by the picture on any box of colour, right? However it looks more like a level 3A to me than a 5A. I knew this would happen going in though which is why I chose the medium shade. Plus I wanted the ash to cover my red/gold issues.

I won't be using this colour again because I find Natural Instincts 1) much easier to use since you apply it on wet hair, 2) a richer, chocolate-yer shade, and 3) leaves my hair in much better, shinier condition.

Decided to give it a try, since it's Amonia-free. Did not love it. Color came out dark, but this is expected from demi permanent dyes. Very messy application; it bleeds a lot, and did not last long either. Great conditioner, though. Herbashine from Garnier is still my favorite; leaves hair shinier.

We don't have this product yet in the UK and I bought it from a drugstore in NY. I have a few grey hairs that I like to cover and I like to add a sheen to my hair and use a colour that is semi-perm. My hair is dark brown and I previously had a version of "glossing" done at a hairdresser in the UK and it was sooooooooo expensive for something that is lovely but lasts a few weeks. So I jumped at the chance when I saw this for just under $10. I bought Espresso.
Positives:
Shade- a great very dark neutral brown (almost black)
Coverage of those annoying greys- perfect- great coverage
Lasting- definitely lasted more than a few weeks
Negatives:
Really not that glossy
Left hair initially in a drier "coated" condition- it has taken a lot to get that shine back- Lots of Phyto Citrus- shampoo and masque
Conditioner- terrible- trash can

I had used Natural Instincts on a previous trip to the US- I am afraid I am a drugstore haul-er, I love trying new things. This was amazing but the brown had a definite reddish tone. So this colour is better- it is dark and the texture it leaves your hair in is going to need work to get it back into condition. HMMMMMMMMM now back in the UK- returning to the hairdresser in a few weeks for the pro glossing treat- that actually leaves hair in amazing condition with a glass like sheen.

My usual haircolor, Natural Instincts, wasn't on shelves so decided to try this one. I just HATE it, it came out MANY shades darker than I wanted (looked exactly the same color as on my NI box. Not only that, the condition is awful, it feels like a heavy duty permanent color. Yes, it covered grays but I much prefer NI as it blends grays in, but leaves hair shiny and healthy. It's taken me a long time to get hair healthy again, using the great Body Shop Rainforest Radiance shampoo and conditioner.......and now I'm back to square one. Washing my hair every day (which I don't normally do) just to try and get this awful color and sticky residue feeling out!

I have used nearly every level 2 and level 3 drugstore hair color. While there is nothing inherently wrong with this color, I think there are better ones out there. My major complaints about this product are it is much drippier than other hair colors I have used (making it more difficult and messy to apply) and the scent of the condition is very heavily floral scented. I am just not impressed by this hair color and think there are better ones available.

My usual hair color was recalled and I tried 6RR Light Auburn. I liked the creaminess of the color......hated the old-style plastic gloves. Didn't think the companies were putting them in any more. Yes, it covered grays but, and this is a BIG but, it came out so dark - a real dark red with plum overtones! I took my old box to drug store and 6RR looked exactly the same color.

This is my HG hair color. I love how it makes my hair feel so silky and look so healthy. I used darkest brown and it is almost black. Some people might find it too dark, but I like it. It covered my greys perfectly!

This color did not give my hair a brassy or copper hue. It did come out much darker than the box. I used light brown. BUT after a few washes the color was really nice.

I like this much more than natural instincts, which gave me the dreaded brassy hue and the color was not as nice.

Healthy Look did not damage my hair, and I got a few compliments about how shiny it was.

Since I'm young, I only use temporary hair colors. This is by far the best I've used! I use one of the red ones, I forgot the color though :( its the reddest red though and my hair is naturally dark brown so the results are amazing! Indoors it looks dark and sexy ans outside a glorious red! I get thousands of compliments. It gives my hair amazing shine too and it smells awesome too. Will definitely buy again.

I used this in 6, Light Brown. Absolutely the ONLY dye that I have ever used (and trust me, I've been through pretty much all of them) that didn't pull red or leave some awful brassy cast to my color! It definitely came out darker than the box said it would, but that's to be expected with any brown shade, and it's still a nice true brown- exactly what I was looking for since I dyed my hair last month (Nice N Easy Light Neutral Brown) and it pulled red leaving my hair looking coppery. I didn't experience any damage or dryness with this dye, my hair is soft and shiny. The only thing I don't like about using this color is the conditioner- it stinks, I find the smells lingers in my hair days after using it even if I shampoo and use a different conditioner. All in all, I love this dye, and I'll be sticking with it for as long as I color my hair.

The first temporary dye I used on my hair was Garnier Herbashine (in #400 dark brown), and although I loved the result I thought I would try L'Oreal Paris' Healthy Look Creme Gloss in Darkest Brown (3).
I find that in comparison, this dye dried out my hair and definitely did not give it any shine - it looked flat compared to my Herbashine results and my natural highlights didn't show through. The colour seemed to wash out really fast in comparison, and my hair was almost back to normal after a week and a half.
Although this dye doesn't seem to have the mild reddish undertones like Herbashine's dark brown (which I at first thought was a good thing) I soon realized that the trade-off is that the L'Oreal colour gives my hair absolutely no dimensionality or shine. My hair is naturally fine and soft, and this dye definitely didn't keep it soft like Herbashine did.
Another thing I didn't like was the conditioner - I found the smell offensive in comparison to Herbashine's conditioner, so much so that I threw it out after two applications. I don't think that the royal jelly does anything at all, as Herbashine's made my hair much softer.
I definitely recommend Herbashine over the L'Oreal Healthy Look Creme Gloss and will not be buying this product again.

I'm really surprised at the bad reviews this product is getting. I love this, it''s one of the only things that stays constant in my hair routine. I have naturally very dark brown hair, but it has a fairly strong natural reddish tone to it. I use the color Espresso/Darkest Brown, and it takes the redness out of my hair and makes it a touch darker. It also adds a ton of shine and volume to my fine hair. I also like that it's semi-permanent so the re-growth isn't too harsh and it keeps my hair healthy since I'm growing it out. I really like this product, and it's my favorite drugstore hair color.

I used this becuase I wanted a semi permement dye to cover the reminence of my red hair dye. when I used it | noticed it smelled kinda weird...but that's to be expected of at home colour.. but it was easy to apply with dry hair and didnt stain my skin.

The only thing unusual that I noticed about my hair was that it turned a dark brown instead of the light beigre brown I wanted. so next time I want to use it I will put it in for wayyyy less time.

The conditioner that came with the dye works well. It makes my hair soft.. and slightly shiny which is hard with my curly hair.

I am a long time user of Natural Match Hair colour (3w Brown Black). I love it because it covers grey very well, holds up after several washings , but most importantly it gave my hair a major boost in volume and made it easier to style and looked great. Very shiny and smooth.

I was very dissapointed when i learned it had been discontinued. I went to Loreal's website and they suggested i replace it with their new Healthy Look (3 Darkest Brown). I have tried this 2 times now and i'm very dissapointed. Not only is it considerably lighter shade but it gives no volume whatsoever , as well as the fact that as soon as you apply water before you shampoo, the colour runs right off. When shampoo is applied i get an awful thick black lather. Cosiderably more than the Natural Match.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what else i could try?
Thanks

I used 5R Cherry Truffle. Usually I buy color in the 5 or 6 color depth range, but this one had a surprise in store for me. My hair is now about two shades darker than before. That's not what I was looking for. It does a good job covering my grey, but beware! My recommendation would be to buy at least a shade lighter than what you are used to buying. I think I will try Natural Instincts next time.

Okay, first off my natural hair color is red.
I bought 4g dark golden truffle. I just dyed my hair and it made it feel straw like it says it was "So deeply hydrating" I wasn't expecting my hair to be super soft but come on lol but all in all its not that bad I really wanted to like this but its back to clairol natural instincts. the smell is pretty nice considering my mom asked me if I was burning a candle and said it smelled like fruit punch haha. After I used the leave in conditioner it still felt straw like so I put a little argan oil in my hair and that softened it up a bit :) Not sure about the color now looks darker than the box but eh i'm not worried.

I was really excited to try this color. I like the idea of healthy color. I was not impressed by the color selection, but I did find something that would work. The color was quick, but I was surprised that it still smelled bad like normal dye. I was really disappointed with the conditioner that came with it. It had a horrible smell and left my hair smelling odd and not very appealing. When my hair dried, the smell of the conditioner still smelled bad and did not really do much to moisturize my hair. The color did not look very good. I found it was very very far from the box. I know the box is not a promise, but it is usually a good guide of what will happen. This was far from it. It tinted my hair a very dark color. I had a blonde and it turned my hair a brownish color which was so far from the description of the box. I like the idea of this, but it does not work very well.
