Good, attention seeking, vibrant orangey red. Glossy colour but not particularly long lasting.

Lady bug is a perfect red color. Its a lustre,so its not matte/drying.It provides just the right amount of pigmentation + is buildable..Its a great red without being too dramatic.Loves it!

I actually did not choose this color on my own. I had my Back to Mac items and needed to choose one more lipstick, when someone recommended the lipstick to me. At first glance I thought it would be too bright for my complexion, plus I have full lips, and thought that it would make them look bigger. But I if it didn't look nice on me I would just give it to my mom who is really pale and looks great in reds. Not now... I am keeping this for myself, It is a very sheer true red that looks great on me. I pair it up with Silly Girl Lipglass and its the perfect glittery sexy red look.

I don't like Lady Bug. I am an NC25 brunette with dark eyes, and it goes orange on me and makes me look washed out. Not a blue red at all. Would probably only look good on red heads and blondes.

My perfect red lipstick. I'm fair so this can go Morticia or retro-but-sweet and anything in between. The lustre formula doesn't always work out for me but this one seems fine, surprising because red lipsticks are often more drying than others. It does fade quickly, but it looks nice and rosy when it does.

MAC ladybug is a very nice glossy red lipstick that will (like all other MAC lustre lipsticks) blend with your lips natural pigmentation. Its buildable so you may have to apply it more than once for a darker finish. For reference I am NC 30-35 and I love it....reminds me of a discontinued Chanel red glossy lippie called Dragon Red.

Great color red that is wearable even in daylight. Love the texture. However, it doesn't have staying power. It seems to wear off rather quickly. A bit of a pain to have to reapply often. Will put up with it because the color is fabulous!

I don't usually care much for sheer, glossy lipsticks, especially sheer reds, but I love Ladybug!
Several previous reviewers described Ladybug as a "summer red," and I could not agree more!
MAC describes the color as "Juiced yellow tomato." However, I see no yellow tones in this lipstick; on me(NW15; green eyes; brunette), it looks like a true glossy red. As others have noted, it instantly brightens the entire face. The Lustre formula is glossy and somewhat sheer, and feels light and moist on the lips. I still love my more opaque reds, like "Ruby Woo," "Powerhouse," and "Glam," but "Ladybug"(Darn it, MAC; it's supposed to be one word!) is my HG summer red!

THE perfect "natural" red. goes on smooth and sheer with a bright fire engine color that really brightens up your face. Great shine, no sparkles, a very vintage, true red. Feels silky smooth on your lips. even though i adore my russian red, I think i will be reaching for lady bug way more because of it's wearability!

On me, this by itself is a bright, glossy, true red. I don't see tomato -- I see cherry. But I have very orange undertones and on my complexion, most reds turn fuchsia (this one doesn't; it leaves a fairly flattering pink stain).
I find that I don't reach for this very often. It's too pink and a bit dark, and while it's not bad on me, MAC's more orangey/corally reds (Eager, Lady Danger, etc.) seem to brighten up my face more.

Ladybug is my perfect red! I wear this in combination with the MAC lipliner in Red Enriched. It makes my teeth look whiter, and my eyes shine-- and this is truly the perfect red for this NC45.

I'm a little surprised by all the "red" comments. Sure, the product looks red in the tube, but when I put it on, it's a deep pinky-coral. I wouldn't call it red, myself (now, "Xtreme"...that's a RED). If I blot, it's even more natural. Wish I'd found this YEARS ago! It's so WEARABLE (I'm an NC30). The texture is nice, too--smooth and silky (I was told it had lip conditioners in it). I bought it specifically to wear with my NARS Mounia blush which is v. similar in color, but I can see myself going for this product on an almost daily basis. As other reviewers mentioned, it really lights up the face and brightens your smile. Decent staying power, although I found that I had to add lip balm over it a few hours later as my lips felt dried out.

A great true red. The formula is comfortable with sheen. Makes a night out, your night out with those heavenly painted puckers! My teeth looked a lot whiter with this particular shade of red as well.

LadyBug is a lustre l/s: shade is a summer red, I see a lot of orange in it. Though texture is silky and staying power is great, this shade looks awful on me (for reference, I'm a PPP /LLL, brown hair and eyes) Up for swap it goes.

Bright, cheerful summer-time red. On me, it neutral to slightly warm. I can see a bit of an orange tone in it, but it is not an orange lipstick. Really lights up my face, makes my eyes sparkle, and doesn't look at all "heavy" like reds sometimes do in the summer months. For reference, I look best in neutral colors (nothing overtly warm nor cool), light complexion, blue eyes, dark brown hair.

If you are extremely cool-toned, I recommend avoiding Lady Bug unless you want a slightly orange-toned brick red. I'm a PPP/LLL with very cool tones. On me, Lady Bug is a red with brick/terra cotta tones. If I wear a pink-red liner or stain beneath it, I'd consider it a wearable warm red. I suppose it would work well if I was wearing neutral fall colors and neutral to warm makeup. However, this isn't my ideal red and not one that I reach for very often. Whenever I wear it, I feel slightly disappointed in the shade. I love MAC lustre formula and it's still a wearable red, so even though I probably wouldn't get it again, I still give it a 4.

Lady Bug is a sheer, bright, tomato red. The lustre formula is very glossy and moisturizing. A great color for the middle of summer when my usual smokey eye doesn't stand a chance in the heat. I wear this l/s with a champagne eye and lots of black mascara for a bright and happy look :) MAC is not tested on animals.

Only red lipstick I've ever found that suits me (extremely pale, with green/orange eyes and black hair) - and I'll cop to the fact that, though I've been looking for a good red for awhile, what swayed me on this was the name; I've loved ladybugs my whole life and have a tattoo of one. :) Anyway. As 'lustre' implies, it's not a matte red, though I find that if I put a little balm over it, it pops even more. Doesn't make my teeth look yellow, lasts for quite some time if I pair it with my clear L'Oreal liner, and makes me feel grown-up without looking like a clown or a vampire. I'd repurchase, but since I use it rarely, only for special occasions, I'm sure this tube will last me awhile.
EDIT (10/12/09): I bought this over three years ago and either it's my more discerning eye now that I'm a bit older, some sort of hormonal or chemical change on my lips, or simply an old tube (don't think so, smells/looks fine), but this looks about half a shade off on me. That's the best way I can put it, I think; it's pretty until you look at it too closely and realize that it's pulling too orange. I've been having this problem with lipsticks in general over the past couple of years - here's hoping that Ruby Woo, which I just bought today, doesn't do the same thing - so it might just be personal chemistry. In my experience, though, this has the tendency to go too yellowish. Still a pretty color in the tube and on others and I would agree that it's a good starter red.

Its a gorgeous red for people who don't want BOOM red if you know what I mean. Its subtle but still noticable. It is a true red. Its a gorgeous color for pale people ( and anyone else ) who dont what to look like a clown. I would buy again if I ever ran out, but I dont think I'll need to because I don't wear red lipstick often.
