I am using studio sculpt NC25 with the pressed powder from MAC in NC20 and i love it! I squeeze a little of it on a sponge and apply it on my face before setting the liquid foundation with pressed powder. I don't usually use a primer nor do i touch up throughout the day. It gives my skin a natural radiance which i love! The funny thing is that i have oily / combination skin so i am not sure why the SA recommended studio sculpt instead of studio fix (i am planning to try studio fix just to see how that goes). The foundation wears well for about 5 - 6 hours in the hot Singapore climate before it drops off though but as this is without any touchups, i am still pretty happy with it. Compared to other brands, MAC is pretty reasonably priced at 59 SGD! Of course, BB creams are always cheaper but so far only the Hanskin range work - still looking!

Update: Face shop Aqua tinted BB cream works for me too! less coverage but ideal for weekends! Also, tested out studio fix and it seems patchy. Not sure why but i guess studio sculpt is the one for me.

I cannot believe I've been wearing this on and off since the day it was released and never reviewed it. I'm actually on my 4th tube? I love this however, I can see why some do not. A lot of people say that it looks/feels heavy, it's hard to apply....It looks like a cream but it is, in fact, a gel(ish) foundation so application is key. Once I figured it out, it does not look heavy or cakey and it lasts all day. I have dry skin PLUS I just moved to Colorado a few months ago. The foundations I once thought were great don't look so hot anymore in this dry climate. I LOVE THIS on my dry skin. It looks so good and it doesn't dry me out and really makes me look less dry.
How I apply...moisturize, prime...I dot a bit where I want, stipple out with the Sigma F84 as it is less dense than the others or just apply tiny amounds and blend with my fingers...but it blends well...THEN I gently stipple/press with a beauty blender just to make sure there's no excess and it's pressed in (think Shiseido SP Liquid Foundation). That method works really well for me. I can't imagine just applying this as you would any other foundation as it would apply heavy-looking, I think the fact that it looks like a cream but is a gel-based foundation throws us off, application is just different. I love it, keep coming back to it and it's perfect for dry skin/dry climate.

The best foundation I have ever tried! I have a terrible time with foundation oxidizing on my skin, and this one remains true to colour the entire time I'm wearing it. It's the first liquid foundation I have ever found that actually matches my fair, cool toned skin (I got it in NC15). The finish is beautiful and natural, not too shiny, but not matte. It barely looks like I'm wearing foundation, yet it has pretty good coverage (I would say medium coverage). I have combination skin, with some dry areas and some slightly oily areas and this foundation is super long wearing! It doesn't cling to or emphasize any dry areas, yet stays looking flawless all day. The only other foundation that is as long wearing that I've tried is Revlon Colorstay. But this one is long wearing AND moisturizing. The most amazing part is that when I wash it off my skin feels super soft! Like I was wearing a luxurious facial mask or something. I have sensitive, acne-prone skin, and this foundation has definitely not irritated my skin or made it break out in any way. It's absolutely amazing!

Even though this foundation isn't an HG, it really gives me a great finish to the skin. It provides medium coverage leaning more towards full. Although its great, I still need a concealer when I use it. I used this product for three or four months and I actually never broke out from it. The only complaint is the staying power is pretty garbage to me. After about 5 hours my skin gets very oily which is fine depending on the season but during the summer it is not the business!

I really love this foundation. I gave it a 3 for price because it's pricier than I would like to pay for a foundation. (not as expensive as a lot of the high end brands- NARS, Chanel, Dior, Lancome, etc but not as a affordable as my Covergirl & Olay.) The coverage is fantastic, while still looking natural. I used to like the MAC Matchmaster for days when I want fuller coverage, but lately, that foundation has been looking cakey & like I'm wearing foundation (not a good look). I got a sample of this when I was at the big mall that has a MAC (45 min away) & I'm glad I got the sample. The MUA was very generous with the sample, it's lasted me over a week, and she matched me spot on. If it wasn't for her help, I would have ordered the incorrect shade (was going to get NC42, but I'm actually NW40). As soon as she saw me, she picked out NW40, and it was PERFECT. My friend who was shopping with me is brutally honest and will tell me if my makeup isn't right. She thought this was a great match & said it didn't even look like I had makeup on (YAY!! exactly what I was going for!). Covers everything. I don't need concealer with this. Doesn't look cakey. I really like the finish. It's not too matte, but it's not dewy either. Doesn't make me oily or cling to my dry patched. It feels very light on the skin, and the lasting power is fantastic. I usually put this on around 730am before work & at 11pm or so at night, it's still looking fresh. (I use Ponds makeup remover pads to take it off and then a cleanser.) I will purchase this when I finish the sample. Hope make doesnt discontinue this one.

update: 1/31/13- this photographs like a dream and covers really well, while still looking natural. doesn't look cakey and blends nicely. nw40 in this foundation is the best color match i've found in a foundation so far,

I really like this foundation. I bought it a couple of days ago and it was a bit pricey but it is worth the money. I have combination skin with oily t zone. I apply it with my mac 130 brush and it gives a flawless finish. I bought this in my country in Europe for 30 € This foundation is quite matte and it has medium to full coverage. After 4/5 hours it started looking a bit oily on my t zone, so i give this foundation 4 lippies. If you use a powder over your foundation i think it wil last longer.
I wouldn't recommend this foundation on people with oily skin. It's better for people with dry/combination skin who want a good coverage.

This foundation is fabulous
I have mostly normal to dry skin and was suggested to try this out at the mac counter and i'm glad I did. I would say it's more of a medium buildable to full coverage foundation and dries a natural finish - not too shiny looking, just fine. I've tried a heap of foundations while having this and I keep coming back, i'm not sure how it goes through summer as i've only used it in winter but i've had a few hot days out while wearing this and it lasted beautifully

I bought this because it was advertised as being good for dry skin - it is. When I apply this it does not show up any flaky dry skin at all. The texture is super thick so I sometimes try to mix this with strobe cream/moisturiser to make it less thick. It dries so quickly which is not ideal because when you put in on your face and go to blend it in with a brush it has already partly dried. It smells like paint and feels like paint on my face but has amazing coverage - it lasts for probably about a whole day (with primer and moisturiser underneath)! It breaks my skin out very badly when I wear it and for me it is too thick but it is great for dry skin - I only tend to use it when I'm going out properly. I am on the borderline to whether I would purchase this product again - I probably would as a special occasion foundation not an everyday one.

This is a full coverage foundation. If you have anything to cover, this will certainly do the trick. I was hoping, given that it was a gel, that it would have a lighter (or more natural texture). The overall texture had an artificial look (which one might expect from any full-coverage foundation. However, the heavy feeling was a deal-breaker. This felt a bit like cake batter on my face--so heavy I knew I couldn't last an entire day with it. I returned this one. On a side note, I've had better luck with MAC Pro Longwear (medium coverage, lasts all day, no breakouts). Pro Longwear felt much lighter on my skin compared to Studio Sculpt.

Most of my favorite products are love it or hate it products. I can see why some people may not like this. It is VERY moisturizing. It is a mousse-like, springy consistency. It's not like foundations that most are probably used to. But for the right person, this foundation is great! I have dry skin in certain areas and I have issues with makeup caking over those areas and highlighting my dry skin. This foundation adds moisture where I need it. It provides good coverage but is not too heavy. The only tricky thing I had with this is that I could no longer use the mineral powder over it to set it. The mineral powder in conjunction with this very moisturizing foundation left my face too shiny. I use the blot powder over my T zone to control shine with this foundation. Perfect combo for me.

I have a love hate relationship with this foundation. I first tried this out when the sales lady was trying to figure out why MAC foundations oxidized so bad on me. She asked me if I was Indian and told me Indian women have oily skin. I looked at her stupid (and as a cosmetologist I've worked in esthetics and know my skin types and many people of all ethnicities have oily skin) I told her I'm of Latin background and she told me foundation shouldn't oxidize on me so fast. She literally tried all foundations until she had two left Matchmaster and Studio Sculpt. When she tried matchmaster it was way too dark I hated it and it oxidized but not as bad as other foundations and the Studio Sculpt in NC20 it barely oxidized and it looked good so I couldn't make up my mind and the lady gave samples to try out and let me tell you that little container with studio sculpt lasted me a month and a half you really don't need much to begin with. I went back and bought the full size and the NC20 matches my skin perfectly the finish is beautiful as well it looks very semi matte and on me it's a medium coverage. It photographs okay I did notice it left a whitish cast on my face and after raving about this product I noticed my skin started dry out a lot I just didn't think too much of it. Then I started to notice it just sat on top of skin and made my pores so noticeable and my dry patches stood out so i stopped using this foundation and I started to hate it. I recently gave it another shot and liked it again it lasts all day doesn't shine at all. I hate the application how it just sits on top not even fix+ helps with that issue. Would I repurchase again? To be honest I really don't know maybe I will.

I am a blue eyed NW10 (NW20 when tanning from a bottle in the summer).

I wear this in NW15 (during the fall and spring), and I like it for it's buildable finish, and it doesn't make me break out like Studio Fix Fluid. It is actually not that moisturizing, my combination skin wears it well. It does not cover my under eye circles on its own, but does ok by itself. the texture is really unique, it feels like it has a built in primer, compared to other liquid foundations. NW15 also seems to lighten as I wear it, and looks lighter on my skin than in the bottle. Not a bad shade match compared to other MAC foundations.

If you have fairly good skin that is normal/dry and want a beautiful, FLAWLESS, healthy looking glow along with good coverage, this is the foundation for you and your skin will looks AMAZING. I realise this foundation isn't for everyone, but if you are any of the above, youre likely to be pleased with results.

Studio sculpt is different to the majority of foundations because it is gel-based, not liquid based, despite the make up alley description. This meana it is moisturising, so good for dry skin. You can test the gel concept out if you squeeze a small amount onto the back of your hand and see how it literally stands up on its own and doesn't fall flat like a liquid.

This foundation is proven to PLUMP skin up, and is particularly good on mature skin!

With this foundation you can have the best of both worlds - have it or dewy or matte. If you want the dewy affect, don't apply powder or apply a light amount of translucent powder over the forehead, nose and skin. If you want it matte, liberally apply powder all over the face and you'll get a completely different result, which is longer wearing and looks better on photographs.

This foundation is designed to make skin look good, and in particular give skin a beautiful glow, which is succeeds in doing.

If you've found you don't like it, it's probably because your skin is oily, spot prone, or you're not preparing your skin with the correct moisturisers (too moisture intensive - remember this foundation is moisturising) primer, or dirty make up brushes.

Visit your local mac counter and let the artist teach you how to apply this product for flawless results. It truly is another top product from mac.

This is an amazing full coverage foundation. I bought this wanting a foundation to use as a concealer and at the same time mix in with a moisturizer on days where I'd want to put a light sheer coverage all over my face. That being said, this is the 2nd MAC foundation I've tried next to Studio Fix Powder and the 1st liquid foundation. I have to admit, I was quite hesitant to get this because it is so notorious for breaking out some people or clogging their pores so I don't want to risk anything and simply use this on certain areas of my face rather than using this as a full foundation.
The product itself is very thick. I apply a really small amount on the back of my hand. And by small I mean, half a bead and use a small concealer brush to apply it under my eyes and round my nose and mouth. Being full coverage, I obviously skip concealer and apply a 2nd layer if necessary. I then use my real techniques buffing brush to pat on those areas to blend them in. I find that by doing this, It still gives that full coverage that I need with a more skin like finish.
I love this product. You get a huge tube which is thin enough to fit in your makeup bag for travel. It gives full coverage so you need the smallest amount and it lasts so long (without finishing it with powder or touching it up in my case because I have dry skin) so I find it is well worth every penny.

I was looking for something for full coverage and was recommended this by one of the workers at the MAC store. I have combination skin and it really makes my face look flawless. After applying this, I put the mineral powder by MAC over my chin and t-zone so there isn't any shine of oil as the day progresses. One thing I recommend is using a really good primer before applying Studio Sculpt.

This foundation doesn't work for me. It gives a pretty good coverage and nice looking skin, but after one or two hours it's swimming on top of my t-zone (I wear Neutrogena oil-free-mosturizer and a MAC primer), a big greasy mess. I give it four lippies for it might work well for others with a less oily t-zone.
MAC-shops in my country charge 75 dollars for it (MAC website price: 30 dollars) and don't accept returns.
Edit: don't use a telefone while wearing this, unless you want it all smeared up

I was actually really surprised at how much I hated this foundation. I started out with high hopes for this, and they fell so fast. When I first applied it, I liked that it had great coverage, it covered everything. Though, while trying to blend it in, I started to notice that it wouldn't blend in. I just sat on top of my skin. The texture just looked really off. So then I put my MAC Prep+Prime translucent powder on top, then it looked great. Well I started to notice about 30 minutes late that it still felt wet. At the end of the day, it still had that sticky wet feel, and you could see where the foundation had cracked from movement. I decided that I needed to try it again, because it had to have been a fluke. I tried it two other days, with the exact same results. It just did not agree with my skin. So after that, it went back to MAC.

I bought this product around a year back and in love with it since then, i have never really tried any much foundations and dont want to try much either as i have found this now. I like medium coverage a foundation which does not make me look dark or light jus smoothe my skin tone and this does exactly what i wanted. my face looks flawless, smooth and for my dry skin it lasts even when i put it over moisturizer only. It makes my skin look natural without any makeup on. I simply love this product.
