This mascara is all you can ask for and more! Remember that this is a volumizing mascara, so don't expect incredible length to accompany it. But, as far as volumizing is concerned, it does an awesome job at it! My thinned out, straight lashes look so big and flirty with this stuff! The waterproof kind holds the best curl all day long. It does start to flake a little towards the end of the bottle (I buy a new bottle every 3 months), but it has never smeared for me. A lot of people complain about the smell, but here's my two cents about it: yes, it does smell, but I know this because I held the bottle directly up to my nose and took a whiff. So in other words, the smell is a teeny tiny drawback to this gem of a mascara! Its very buildable, so you can go as dramatic or natural as you please. Not to mention the great price ($7.99 USD @ Walgreens) and the adorable bottle, this mascara is an all-around win!

The best mascara I have used by far. Separates all my lashes and makes them look huge. Adds length and volume. The formula is wonderful and the dark brown is not too harsh for my fair skin and light hair. The tube is bright and easy to find in my makeup bag, and the shape is easy to hold. The brush shape is easy to use and gets all the little lashes. It is also a good size to use on my bottom lashes. I have had trouble with other mascaras being too thick for my bottom lashes, but this product works for those as well as maxing out my top lashes. The formula stays on all day, and doesn't dry up. I didn't have to throw out the tube until my usual 6-month time limit (for bacteria/sanitation).
Will definitely buy again; I switched to another mascara to try it out and I can't wait to go back to Volum' Express.

Favourite Mascara at the moment. c:
It does a lot for my short, straight asian lashes. This mascara is buildable and able to give you dramatic lashes that seem long and thick. When I wear this mascara i get heaps of people telling me that my eyelashes look "super long and pretty". It doesn't clump at all, and just a few coats you can get your dream lashes. It curls your eyelashes without you needing to curl them so it gives them a nice natural flick that really opens up your eyes.

The only problem is that sometimes it flakes but that is easily solved by you gently removing the black residue unbder your eyes with your fingers every now and then.

Like most mascaras, the formula is a bit too wet when you first buy it but give it a week or two and it's perfect.

It does miracles for your lashes, definitely repurchasing.

I'm on my third or fourth tube of this mascara and I love it..it's affordable, and if applied properly it'll do what it promises to your lashes.

PROS
-does not dry up quickly
-doesn't have an unpleasant odor
-easily separates every single one of my lashes
-lengthens my lashes
-the brush lets me get to every part of my lashes..even the inner and outer corners
-the washable version comes off quickly
-it's super affordable (5$ at my local drugstore)
-available at almost every drugstore

CONS
-it doesn't really provide as much volume as it promises

I got this product on sale at Rite Aid about a year and a half ago and used it until I got the Great Lash Lots of Lashes mascara. I recently tossed this one for health reasons because I haven't used it in a while. I do remember really liking it though. It went on smoothly and didn't clump. It also had a nice floral-y fragrance to it. I would definitely repurchase and I do recommend.

I just recently bought this product after reading some reviews and I got the color in glam black. It is probably the best mascara I've tried! It leaves your lashes looking very sleek and thick. It doesn't clump and stays on lashes all day. It definitely gives you flirty lashes!! I would purchase again for sure.

I really like this mascara. I haven't tried many others before and got this one because it was recomended by one of my friends. I think it really adds volume and wears for a long time. My sister says its smells like tar.. I have heard others complain about this but I don't mind the smell.. Maybe Its just me? Overall a very good mascara.

I love this mascara. I have naturally long eyelashes and using this mascara just enhances them half a size more! I always get asked how my lashes are "soooo long". This mascara does not clump, it separates the lashes and volumizes. Would defiantly buy again in a heart beat... if I wasn't so into trying out different mascaras

I have short, straight, Asian eye lashes, and this is the only mascara that has every made a huge difference!!! My lashes look fuller, longer, and overall so great! I've gone through about 10 bottles and even though I've tried other mascaras this is always my favorite!

This is my favourite mascara so far. I have short, thin lashes and this product is perfect for them! I only have to use one or two coats and I actually have defined, long lashes after. There is no clumping whatsoever and doesn't look fake. Application is very easy. The only disadvantage is that it can flake off and give you smudged makeup under your eyes. Other than that great product, and I would definitely recommend it!

I have bought this product 3 times and probably won't stop.
Idk why its rating is at a 3.5, its an excellent mascara.
I was a bit scared due to the reviews but i love it.
It lengthens and volumizes.

2 of my friends have asked if my eyelashes were false. I just tell them i have a really good mascara.

I recently bought one from Target and the brush is a bit weird so maybe i got a bad batch. We'll see :)

Yes. Yes. Yes. It meets all my expectations and goes beyond what more expensive brands can do. It separates lashes while adding volume to each lash. My lashes have blonde tips and I look like I don't have lashes if I'm not wearing mascara. With this, my lashes are full, dark and long. I have an arsenal of mascara (Clinique, L'Oreal, bareMinerals, CoverGirl, etc.) because I am always trying to find something I might love more than this... but nothing's better! I love this most of all! The best mascara you'll ever try.

I like this! It washes off easily but it doesnt flake or smudge. One light coat looks natural w/ no clumps. I find that it does give good length and also volume if you wiggle it at the roots. I like the big brush and the mascara DOESNT irritate eyes. It does smell like play-doh which is different, but idc=) The packaging would be cute if it wasn't a mustard color. Over all I would buy again BUT I would rather try something else once im done with this

I can honestly tell you with all confidence that this mascara is one of the best drugstore mascaras. Hands down. Lengthens and especially volumizes. I've tried over 10 different drugstore mascaras, and my favourites used to be L'oreal Voluminous, and The Falsies, but I never got my full desired effect from them without a problem. Colossal is now my holy grail mascara. I notice a lot of people are very picky when it comes to these reviews and go crazy on every little detail..as long as you have the right technique (I share mine below) you'd be surprised how different your lashes can look. I have decently long lashes, but no thickness/volume, and I LOVE full volumized lashes. Voluminous was a "moody" mascara, which I know sounds weird. Sometimes it worked for me, other times it made my lashes hideous. Same as The Falsies. At first I didn't like this mascara, but I heard good things so I gave it a chance. Important: Use this mascara for at least 4 days. Why? Because I find drugstore mascaras, are always very very wet, which makes it hard to build coats/volume. My lashes always come out spidery with a new mascara. After about 4 days, the formula dries a touch and becomes thicker. This really helps a lot and that is when you can really judge a mascara IMO. Anyway, here's a simple breakdown:
PROS:
- gives length and really nice volume
- definite falsie effect *when used properly*
- cute packaging imo
- very black
- great brush
- awesome formula
- really almost everything you could want in a mascara, or for me at least
CONS:
- it obviously has a smell at first (like all mascaras), but after you apply you don't smell it. It's not even a horrible smell. Definitely not something to stop you from buying
- like with any semi-big brush, you can smear on your lids, tip: when applying, have a mirror down below your eyes and look down when you apply. Just don't go crazy and you're good haha

Really, this mascara is definitely worth trying. Give it a few days, I promise you'll be happy with it. What I do to get awesome results is I apply a few swipes normally, I then do a few swipes ontop of my lashes too. This REALLY helps build volume. Then I do 2 more coats like that, finish off with some normal swipes on the bottom, and voila. Thick, long, full lashes :) This works for me, but I'm not sure if it works for everyone. Experiment with mascara techniques of your own! There is no mascara out there that will do it all without good technique. I really hope you enjoy this mascara if you buy it :) x

I am surprised this mascara isn't rated higher. I believe it's a tremendous value. I find it can easily achieve both a light everyday look or a heavier evening look. It adds color and depth quickly while each additional coat increases volume nicely as well. Most importantly, it does NOT irritate my eyes, which is highly unusual, and washes off easily. I think I've found a BFF.

The good:
I like the effect it gives. It makes my lashes look really good compared to other mascaras I've tried. It's surprisingly lengthening since they only advertise it for being volumizing. It does volumize too. I would recommend zig-zagging the wand when you apply it to get the most volume.
The bad:
It does that crumbly thing where some of the mascara comes off and you will notice little black dots under your eyes (it even got IN my eyes occasionally). It doesn't do it really badly, but it does do it and it's inconvenient. I like a hassle-free mascara.
It also seems like the formula is a bit wet, and a lot comes out on the wand at a time so you need to scrape it on the tube to avoid clumps.

i love all maybelline mascaras but this one is the best my eyelashes look so full and long i love it! im buying another one soon :) please dont discontinue this ever it seems that only the best products get discontinued when a lot of people love it idk why that is but this is a great mascara best one ive ever owned.
