This was my very first MAC/high end foundation and I thought to myself "is this as good as it's ever going to get?" Thankfully not.

The colour match was good since it had yellow tones but the coverage was very sheer and a bit hard to build on since it gets a bit cakey/dry. The girl at the counter told me this was good for my combo skin but I can't say it was.. although I guess it's better than face-melting SFF! Within a few hours I can't even tell if I'm wearing foundation anymore since it's so sheer and transfers like mad with my oily skin. The sparkling minerals also bothered me. I was oily and sparkling. YAY.

I guess I only liked the colour match and packaging.

For OILY SKIN GIRLS,use YOUR FINGERS to apply this,it really stops it from looking caking and u can add more to cover on spots, then use MSFN with a POWDER PUFF and pat it on trust me!it looks waaay more smooth and no greasy look!

This foundation was absolutely horrible! I purchased this in NC30 quite awhile ago and used it for a few weeks before reviewing it (in order to give a fair review). This foundation somehow makes me (dry skin gal) an oilslick just 2 hours after application. Its super greasy, seperates on my face, and emphasizes any dry patch I may have and its oddly shimmery. Ive tried so many different application techniques too. Not only that, but it oxidizes horribly AND broke me on my chin with some nasty cystic pimples. The only positive is the packaging really.

So I have been using this foundation for about 3 months now, this is the first foundation I had bought from MAC. The first thing I want to say is that i was NOT impressed by the girl who served me at the MAC counter in Brisbane, she applied it to my face and then expected me to buy it straight away but i didnt because i wanted to see how it stayed on my face for the day and in the warm weather. I have oily/combo skin and i hate wearing it on hot days, it feels like its melting off my face. As for the shade i was matched to NC15 which i think is perfect. As for the price, the price didnt bother me, here in Australia its $49 but thats alot better than what i was paying for my Youngblood foundation which was around $80. Im wondering what mineralize skinfinish would look like over the top????

Basically I like fuller coverage from my foundation, and even though it said on the packaging that this was buildable, it really wasn't. I am also a fan of a more matte look which this really wasn't (though to be fair I should have looked into it before buying.) I found it shiny (not dewey) which emphasized my imperfections rather than masking them. I wouldn't give it lower than a three, however, as it was still a high quality foundation and, because it was quite expensive, I ended up finishing it just because I didn't want it to go to waste. If you prefer a light, shiny foundation, this will be good for you but if you're looking for more coverage go elsewhere.

I am very upset with this product because I have oily skin. I went to the MAC counter at the mall to get more of my usual Studio Fix Fluid foundation, but the sales girl asked if I had oily skin and told me "MAC just came out with a new line for oily skin." I was interested in trying it, so she sold me THIS Mineralize Satinfinish foundation. This foundation, I just found out yesterday, is designed for DRY skin. I'm pretty upset because it cost $30.
The product itself I can imagine for those with small pores and smooth, usually dry skin; would suit very well. It smells good and has a mineral shimmer. It has a sheer coverage and is not easily buildable.
On my skin, the product just felt slippery and it emphasized my skin imperfections like pore size.
Avoid this product if you have normal or oily skin. Especially if you tend to break out because this foundation made my skin look yucky. If you have smooth skin with no breakouts and small pores, this foundation would make you great and probably dewey.
Another thing, the coloring is brighter. You may need to go up one color to match your usual. My usual NW 20 was much too light with this foundation.
I would never never buy this product again.

This was the first mac foundation product I've ever used/purchased and I am sorely disappointed with it :(.

I have dry skin and was told by the sales associate to use this product in the NC20 color, which I find is extremely light and makes me look pale. I have a bit of redness on my cheeks and this does not help cover it up at all. Not only that, but after a couple hours of wear, i notice it starts to sort of break up and makes it look like i'm wearing a powder foundation that is pilling on my face and coming off. Going to try the studio fluid fix next with higher hopes since I will not be buying this again :(

This is my first mac liquid foundation and i must say i am impressed. I was reluctant at first to buy a liquid mac foundation because everyone i know always complain that they break out and i am super prone to breakouts but this has yet to break me out. Maybe it helps that i dont wear this everyday and when i do i make sure i wipe my face 2 mac wipes and i cleanse my face before i go to sleep to make sure no residue is left over.

When i pumped this on my hand and blended it in, i can see glitters and i was like woah wth! but on my face you can not see it so i guess thats good. I have oily, combo skin and i do not find that i have problems looking like an oil slick by the end of the day. I do have to blot once after a couple of hours, but i have to do it anyways with or without foundation.

The mua first gave me nc45, but i thought it was a tad bit too dark, so i got the nc44. I am very happy with this foundation.. for now lol.

I feel like this is a lighter coverage foundation and good for people with clear skin.

The MAC artist used this on me for my wedding and it stayed on from 11am-2am the next morning with no oiliness. I highly recommend this to people with drier skin...it's amazing!

When i went to my nearest mac store in selfridges i was looking for a new foundation that was lighter on the skin and felt natural ( as it was summer and really hot) and so one of the make-up artists suggested the mineralize satinfinish spf 15 foundation as they said it was 'a step more than a tinted moisturizer'. So for me this was exactly what i was looking for & so i bought it and couldn't wait to try it the net day.The packaging is in a slightly frosted glass bottle with a black pump dispenser which i appreciated as other mac foundations like studio fix or select spf 15 foundations had no pump with them and you had to purchase them seperately. It says it has Vitamins A,C & E in aswell as broad spectrum AV/AB protection. Its supposed to make your skin look flawless with a healthy glow.So i tried this foundation with a 187(stippling brush) & used about 2 pumps. The foundation easily blended into my skin and left a really nice glow.I checked my face outside to see if the colour matched my face and it did so that was another plus.I set this foundation with Mac mineralize skinfinsh loose powder or the mineralize skinfinsh natural powder which is compressed(either do just as good of a job). Throughout the day the foundation i noticed did not move around and looked really natural.I put the foundation on about 8.30 in the morning and came to look at it at 2.00 in the after noon and it wasn't looking bad but needed a dusting of powder.By about 11.00 at night when i finally came to remove all my make-up i noticed that it had quite alot of resistance and stayed natural all day.I have oily skin but i didnt find it turned my face into an oil slick i only needed to powder my face twice in the whole time i was wearing it.So all in all my general opinion on this foundation is that i actually quite liked it and it did look & feel very natural all day so it is a winner with me :)

Ok, so I'm only basing this review on a sample of the product, but it's been enough for several applications - and then the rest went in the bin :-(

Even for MAC, this foundation is truly horrible (yes, you'd be right in assuming I'm not a fan of their foundations in general...) A thick, sticky, glittery mess. Hard to blend and seems to highlight every slightly dry patch on my face... and I have reasonably good skin! I've managed to make this look 'almost' reasonable by blending, blending, blending, but you know what... why bother when almost every other foundation I've used gives better results for less effort? I like a glow, but c'mon... discoball? Nein danke.

The colour I used was NC20 which I found was also bizarrely light (and extremely YELLOW), given that I've also been matched with NW20 (too dark/orange), NW15 (too pink) and NC15 (too pale).

Coverage is light to medium and suits people with dry skin better. The good thing about this foundation is a wide range of colors for pink and yellow undertone and not just pinkish tones alone. I have oily skin that why it doesnt work for me. If you have dry skin, it will be ok if u are looking for something light. Does not clog pores. Most probably I wont repurchase and this bottle is gonna last me for ages.

Colour-Nc37

OMG the best foundation I've ever used!
I have dry but fairy clear skin, unless I've been bad to myself and it gets a bit blocthy. I always look a bt pale/run down though :( so my foundation is crucial.

This foundation was recommended to me at The London store for my exact face.

It's light-lighter than I would ever use; I tend to like to be 'covered' but I took their advice and to be fair, I've never received as many compliments on my skin as when I wear this.

I look dewy and clear-skinned. I personally like the slightly wet-look, I think it makes us look younger and more natural (even though we're covered in foundation lol)

I can not wear this for photoshoots as the strong lights swallow it up. I also have to cover it in Macstudio fix powder (applied with a brush NOT the puff as I end like looking too caked) if I'm going clubbing.

But for a date, school, general nights and days-especially days, this is my beloved, favourite foundation.

In a nutshell:

I look younger
More fresh-faced
Dewy
Brighter
and clearer
with this foundation.

NC37 is perfect for a lighter olive complexion and those of us with dry skin. Worth every penny x

PS I use it frequently and its lasted me a year- can't beat that!

Thanks to MAHALOGAL's review of this product, I was sold enough to buy it from Amazon - since I went to 3 different MAC counters and they didn't have NW43, which is my perfect shade. I gave it a test drive outdoors today and I LOVE it! It feels like NOTHING on my skin but it DOES need the help of a loose powder. The one I use (which has since been long discontinued) is Avon's Personal Match Loose Powder in "Tan". It's finishing very soon and I'll need to get a replacement loose powder of the same shade. The Select Loose Powders from MAC don't seem to have NW43 for some reason - that must be a rather difficult shade to match. But either way, I love the Satinfinish Foundation and the way it gives me a flawless glow, even though it's a medium to light coverage and I will definitely repurchase!

i think this foundation is a very natural looking foundation . the coverage is light so it should be paired with a heavy duty concealer like the mac studio finish concealer . the packaging is nice in my opinion cause it has an awesome pump which is always a plus (:
