I love the scent of roses, there's something very Victorian about it. And this moisturizer definitely has that going for it. However, as others have mentioned, it's pretty oily in texture. I have combo sensitive acne-prone super-fair skin, and this stuff is too oily. I find too that my face goes slightly red with this stuff during the day. Now that maybe because it doesn't offer any sun protection (but I did have sunscreen on over it) or it may just not soothe my skin. Not sure. Anyway, I love the whole all-natural high caliber ingredients idea of the brand and cream, but the results were lackluster. I felt like I could have paid under $15 for another brand of natural moisturizer (maybe some with an SPF factor) and gotten a lot better results. I feel good putting this on my skin because of the lack of man-made chemicals, but it just doesn't seem to do anything. A lot of times I hear people talking about the "glow" this is supposed to give, it just gave me a grease flustered look instead. And I only used a small dab. Whatever, I've been using this around my eye area, which it seems to work well at. It's super-moisturizing so the skin around my eyes looks improved. I'll continue to use it for that until the tube is finished. But it's just not worth the price. And as for the cult following this stuff has, well, I'm just mystified.

I’ve struggled with this one for a while. I seemed way to heavy for my combination skin and took absolute ages to sink in. However, being in love with the scent and the concept I was determined to make it work. So after about 6 month of trial and error I’ve discovered that it’s all about the application technique, although the packaging doesn’t advise you about it much. I’ve discovered that if you warm it up on your finger tips it turns liquid just like Crème de la Mer. Once it’s warmed up and looks like a clear liquid it’s easy to apply with just a few light sweeping strokes of hand and it sinks in like a dream. Experience closest to silicone based products. It makes your skin beautifully supple and soft, gives it a subtle dewiness and holds make up well. I really like it, it’s the best thing for winter and rainy British summers. The only thing is packaging, I love the look but the metallic tube is a pain, I have to roll it like an old-fashioned toothpaste and you can’t cut it open to get all the last bits of the product out once it’s on it’s last legs.

Soooo disappointed! I love the fragrance and texture of this cream, but when I applied it to my skin it just sat there. And sat there. And sat there. I have extremely dry skin that gets chapped in the winter, and usually it will soak up whatever emollient I put on it. Not this stuff! I awakened the morning after my first application and my dry, flaky patches were still dry and flaky, while there were still little oil slicks in places where the moisturizer STILL hadn't soaked in. I'd warmed the product on my fingers and applied sparingly as per reviewer recs here, but alas... I thought about keeping it for the smell alone, which I agree with other reviewers is heavenly, but then I remembered how much money I'd spent on it. Back it went.

This is a very good cream for me. It seems like it is going to be too heavy and oily but within 5 minutes it has completely been absorbed and there is no film or greasiness left behind. I believe I'll be able to use this in the summer too.

I like the fact that it comes in a metal tube too. Very nice product.

This is one of the best organic moisturizers out there. It's rich and it smells just like roses. I waited a month to write the review, just to make sure my skin was not allergic to this as many other reviewers have reported. It is not allergic but I do feel the slightest bit of tingling when I put it on. I actually like that. I have 2 minor complaints: 1) It takes a long time for my skin to absorb this so I can't really put it on and then do my make-up. I have to remember to put this on in advance 2) I really dislike the metal tube it comes in.

I usually don't write reviews, but with Dr. Hauschka products I have to, because they really helped my skin alot. I used to have combination, 1-2 breakouts a month skin, but since I've been using Dr.H skincare, no breakouts anymore, not even one! After few months of using: Cleasing milk, Facial Toner, Rose Creme and Steam Bath with Clay mask, my skin have never looked better! My drier cheeks are moisturized well and my T-zone is not shiny, I can say my skin is NORMAL and not combo anymore! I dont think Rose Cream transformed my skin, but it certainly helped along with the other products. The texture is quite thick, and honestly, I find it too heavy for me! I use this cream when I feel my skin needs more moisture or when I'm home alone and not going anywhere :) I switched to the LIGHT version a few months before, and I think they work exactly the same. I just use light one because I dont have time for it to sink in, I need to apply make up and go! Rose Cream has a very beautiful rosy (what a surprise) smell, it's very comforting. It feels great, soothes and calmes my sensitive skin, and after using this I dont have such a redness on my cheeks and around my nose anymore! It's really great and the best is the feeling that being an organic natural product that moisturizes, you are doing something good to your skin without all the nasty chemicals. Personally I think the product that does the most for my skin is Cleansing Milk, but using all these product together made my skin beautifully soft, even, moisturized..I got rid of all blackheads on my chin and at least 2/3 on my nose! I cannot thank Dr. Haushka products enough and Rose Cream is definitely one of them. I have no complaints about the packaging, I'm on my fourth tube and it never broke as some of the reviewers experienced. One tube lasts me for at least 3 monts so I dont find it too expensive either. There are 1000 rose petals inside, according to Dr.Hauschka's website. Being so many roses inside I'm surprised it doesn't cost more:)
I will never look for another moisturizer as this one keeps me happy.

I was really hoping that this would be some miracle mosturizer but I was sadly disappointed. I have combination skin and a lot of redeness and this just broke out my skin. I do like the smell of it but I hate the tube packaging it is in. This product is not worth the money!!!

I'm glad that I'm just about finished with this rose cream, as I'll be happy to move on to greener pastures. I purchased it on one of my many organic-skincare kicks, for about thirty dollars. Although the tube yields a small amount, I felt the price was justified by the cream's high-quality ingredients and by the fact that one only needs to use a tiny amount once a day. After approximately four months of use, however, I just don't feel the cream is worth the price. My skin is both pretty oily and pretty dry; it is also in a constant state of disarray due to the RAM I regularly use. I purchased the cream to soothe my skin and tone down its redness. The cream itself is very thick and very oily, and I regularly dispense a tiny amount on my palms and pat it on my damp face. While it does indeed tone down redness, and while it, like other Dr. Hauschka products, smells gorgeously understated, it simply does not soak into my skin. I am wearing it as I type, and although I used a generous amount and was more aggressive in patting it/rubbing it in, my skin feels tight, dry, and therefore somewhat irritated--yet the surface is very, very oily. I'm not sure what the deal is, or how others are getting this to soak in, but I won't be repurchasing.

*PIC of ingredients* UPDATE: This is fantastic as a night cream, I wake up to soft hydrated glowy skin with this, but i would only use it at night as it's wayyy to oily and rich for day time.
My previous review on this: Ughhhhh, I don't why anybody would like this, the packaging? like toothpaste, and even harder, the fact it leaves you like an oil slick? and I have dry skin!, the no spf it offers? Awful.

This product really helped my rosacea-prone, sensitive skin in the past.
It has an interesting consistency, kind of paste-like, thick and a bit greasy. The smell is really wonderful. Since my skin is quite dry on the cheeks, it absorbed without any problems, and did not leave a greasy film at all.
When I used it as a part of my complete Dr. Hauschka skin regime, I could really feel the difference, my skin was much calmer, less red etc. However, I've been using it without the cleanser, toner, etc. lately, and I don't notice such drastic changes at the moment, and my skin is very stressed at the moment (not due to this cream though, I don't think!)
Nevertheless, I really recommend this cream to anyone with sensitive, dry-ish, rosacea-prone skin!

I used Dr Haushka products in the past, and stranger stopped me in Whole Foods to compilment me on my complexion. Then I got dazzled by other brands. Now I'm back as beliver, after going through hormonal acne and dehyrated skin. I use the Rose Day Cream around my mouth, on my cheeks, my neck, and around my eyes each day. My skin is smooth, glowing, and well-balanced. I love the scent and rich feel of the creme. For those who noted how "thick" or "heavy" it feels, I suggest using a very small amount. The product is concentrated; you need much less than with a more conventional moisture cream. My skin is oily/dehyrated, and the Rose Cream is a terrific spot treatment. I don't need any foundation. I also think the price is reasonable, based on the quality of the ingredients and the fact that you don't have to trowel it on.

Will never buy this prouct again. It made my sensitive skin itch, break out in spots. Tried the rose light moisturizer from the same brand. But that one dryed out my skin and I got dry patches all over my face.

Dr. Haushka's rose cream is overpriced and overrated. It clogged my pores and make my face feel itchy. It also left a greasy film on my skin that I had to wash off immediately. For a natural cream, it could have been made less greasy. It felt like I was spreading rose scented vaseline on my face. :( Save your money! I did find a natural rose cream moisturizer that was better than this one called Marie Chantal. It was a great replacement for this cream and helped my sensitive skin feel balanced, refreshed and soft without the greasy feel. It also has a pure rose scent so I am hooked and it's my HG. Try Marie Chantal's rose cream instead.

I bought the Dr. Hauschka trial set for normal, dry, sensitive skin two weeks ago. My skin is naturally oily and prone to breaking out, but years of acne treatment (including Retin-A) have left my skin dry and sensitive. In the past, I've used Estee Lauder, Mary Kay, Clinque, Kiehl's, La Mer, and Cetaphil, but I wanted to get away from synthetic products. So far, I've been very pleased with Dr. Hauschka. It's gentle on my skin and I love the scent of the products (even the cleansing cream). It's helped with dryness and redness (caused from Retin-A), and has left my skin soft. I was surprised how much I like the Rose Day Cream which starts out greasy feeling, but my skin soaks it up right away. The $39 price tag for a one-ounce tube may seem expensive, but compared to Creme de La Mer, it's a downright bargain. Plus, with Hauschka, you only moisturize in the morning, so you aren't using as much product. If everything keeps going well, count me a convert.

UPDATE: Three weeks later, I still love it! My skin still looks great and feels good.

First of all, this cream smells absolutely gorgeous; a soft, gentle aroma of true roses. This leaves skin feeling perfectly hydrated and is best suited in the winter weather, when skin is at its driest. I love the way it left my skin feeling so nourished and provided this gorgeous dewy glow. Rose Day Cream is thick and rich without being greasy. I adore the texture; so smooth and creamy that sunk in quickly, leaving my skin feeling so pampered. This soothes itchy, dry skin in an instant and I love how the ingredients are so pure and natural. You only need a tiny sized amount, no larger than a pea. This tiny amount spreads around the face and neck with ease, leaving it perfectly smooth and healthy.

Will I buy this product again? Yes!! I love this. This will forever be a staple in my home. I love the thick, balmy, protective texture (think Crisco). I love the indulgent rosey scent. I love the ingredients. And most of all, I love how my face feels cool, calm, supple, and comfortable. There's a bit of shine until it sinks in, but it dissappears. It is so luxurious that I look forward to my washing up routine.

I also use this over the moisturizing day cream, and it seals in moisture and protects my cheeks from the dry air of indoor heating, and the cold air and wind of winter.

(And bonus: my little girl had a bit of a nappy rash while we were out and about, and Rose Cream cleared that rash right up! )

Editing 5/8/13: I had to give this one up, as I have discovered that I am sensitive to most botanicals in products. As interested as I am in using natural products, I just can't. This was lovely, but I have to move on. Currently using Elta MD skincare.

Got this in a set that Dr. H. offers. Never would have bought this on it's own as it's ridiculously pricey for 1 ounce though not as pricey as some lines like ReVive for example.. That said I tried this out today and I'm glad I did. My skin has been so dry and sometimes burning due to the heaters/furnace being on in my home. The moisturizer I'd been using in the warmer months was not cutting it since it's too light and doesn't offer heavier moisture. This Rose Day Cream caused my skin to stop feeling tight and the redness in my skin disappeared. Still though I have moody skin and so I'll have to come back and update as to whether or not my skin is still agreeing with this cream. UPDATE 2/26/08 This is still a great cream for really dry winter skin. Unfortunately it clogs my pores and gives me blemishes that take a long while to come to the surface and heal. Because of this I can't use it too often. I've yet to find a cream that works this well without all the added chemicals.

The most amazing moisturizer for winter! It keeps my skin so soft and supple... but it doesn't last me more than three weeks. The tube is tiny and it's pretty expensive. Good things come in small packages i think! Worth it though :)

I swear, every model in Vogue has touted Rose Day Cream once or twice, and after a while, I just caved and bought it. I used Dr. Hauschka products before, mainly when I was younger and my mom was on a big homeopathic craze. She bought them in Europe, where I'm assuming they were cheaper, because I would never get my kid 30 dollar face wash. I love the retro packaging, and I love how everything smells, but compared to similar products, this moisturizer just doesn't cut it. I used it every day for a while, but it would give me blackheads like no other, so now I use it every once in a while when my skin gets very very dry. I love the scent, and the consistency is a bit thick and heavy, but it leaves skin very moisturized. However, I never got the famed rose cream glow, and have abandoned it in favor of John Masters Mandarin Maximum Moisture, which does for me exactly what I wanted Rose Day Cream to do. It's a little more expensive, but you only need a tiny tiny bit, and I think it works much better.
