This was such a pleasant surprise! My mom bought this a while ago when a sears near us was going out of business (I didn't even know they sold makeup tbh). We never really used it and I had been using revlon colorstay for about a year and I though that was as good as foundation gets! But OMG I WAS WRONG. This foundation has medium coverage but it blends so well and so smooth! It's amazing and I can layer and build the coverage as much as I want without it getting cakey. So far, this has been my favorite foundation and I've gotten compliments on how much better my skin looks. However I can't give this a 5/5 because maybe it's the winter weather, but my skin has been looking awfully dry and it flakes sometimes wearing this foundation.

I'm torn about this foundation. I'll start with my skin woes that I need a foundation to address. I had moderately sever cystic acne for about 1.5 years. After getting it under control, I still have at least 3 cysts at all times and a few normal zits, but I'm **decently** content with the acne levels now. It's miraculous compared to how bad it was, so I'm still grateful. However, I'm left with scarring, some of which pitted. I also have insanely oily skin. 30 minutes to an hour after washing my face, I can scrape globs of oil off my face. (TMI probably, and gross, but I'm giving you an idea of the strain my foundations go through). And my final major skin problem is HUGE pores on my cheeks that are increased dramatically by the extreme oiliness and pitted scarring. To add to that, I have some broken capillaries around my nose and the general redness that most people experience.
After several long wear foundations (including the horridly patchy face concrete called Estee Lauder Double Wear), failed me within hours, I gave up on them and began using "slippery" foundations that I could easily reapply throughout the day in the dimly lighted school bathroom. (Due to the extreme oil production and very deep pores, I could never even blot my face, it would simply take all my foundation off except that which was in my pores :/).
Then Almay TLC entered my life and everything changed, but it's still not a fairy tale ending.
IT STAYS ON!!!
It doesn't make my pores look worse
I'm less oily than usual (which doesn't mean much considering how oily I am)
Good packaging (pump rarely if ever clogs and the glass allows you to see the product inside)
Thick and unbuildable. What you see is what you get, you will not get more coverage than what you initially put on unless you spend a significant amount of time with some concealer.
Bleh color selection (My color works decently. It's pale enough, but slightly too pink. Due to my neutralness I can get away with cool and warm shades generally, but I prefer to go slightly warmer instead of pinker)
It takes a long time to apply
Difficult to make it look natural, smooth, and even.
Does not photograph well
To conclude: I'm not thrilled with everything about this foundation, but it's staying power and the freedom I have to "blot and go" outweighs this. Until my skin calms down or I find a better option, I'm sticking with this for most days.

Holy HG! Should I start by telling you the numerous products I have tried??? Clinique, MAC, Clarins, Lancome, Smashbox, Stila, Estee Lauder, Rimmel, etc...
I have combo skin, yellow undertones, and VERY prone to breakouts. I have been looking for med/full coverage that lasts all day and doesnt oxidize. I bought this on a whim for $10 at Wal-mart and fell in love with the coverage, not to mention the fact that I didnt have to touch up once! This stuff literally stays on 12+ hours on me. But the best and most important part is that it does not clog my pores or make me break out and matches my skin tone perfectly! (Im NC 15 and use Buff/Chamois). I cant believe I finally found my HG foundation at Wal-mart! I understand everyone has different skin types but for $10, theres not much to lose!

I decided to go with another brand & even a different shade, then I normally wear. This was PERFECT! The shade was actually exactly the color of my skin.Super happy with this purchase. Now,hopefully TLC won't be discontinued anytime soon =)

I had been using the Almay blemish clearing makeup and was finding it was too drying for my skin so I gave this a whirl. This provides me all of the things I enjoy about the blemish clearing makeup without the drying effects.
One pump from this is all I need for a fresh, natural-looking face. My skin is responding well to this as I have been noticing it clearing my comedal acne (this claims to be non-comedogenic) so far so good. This honestly lasts all day and continues to look fresh and natural.
I might add that the colour choices vary slightly from the blemish clearing makeup, the shades are darker I find. I went with neutral and I wear sand normally. Update: The more I wore this, the less I liked it. It made my skin very dry and would apply patchy some days. Not a fan after all.

The bad side of this foundation heavily outweighs the good. I liked that it controled my oily areas on my skin and that it gives medium coverage , but I found that it gets cakey if you try to layer up to get full coverage. I had to blend with a sponge to get the results I was looking for.
This lasted a full days wear on my face without touchups which is great for me because makeup never seems to last on me but a few hours. But with saying that ...it is a pain in the butt to get off your face and after couple of weeks of that, my acne prone skin started breaking out badly that I had to discontinue the product. Its been 5 days now and my skin is finally clearing up.

I have tried numerous foundations and this foundation remains my Holy Grail!
My skin is slightly on the oily side with a fair neutral coloring with ever so slightly more yellow tone than pink. Almay Truly Lasting Color shade #140 Buff is a perfect shade match ( i was matched to M.A.C. NC15).
The formula lasts from 8 to 12 hours; lasting longer when it is not hot and humid out. The length of wear also depends on whether I mix in a little primer ( longer) or moisturizer (a bit less). I love the medium coverage and I lighten it up with moisturizer when I want a more sheer look. Some reviewers have felt the formula is too matte, but I have had a very natural look with it once the foundation gets a chance to set. I used Revlon Colorstay for years and it often photographed oddly, giving me a ghostly white appearance, but TLC photographs much more true to color.
I applied with my fingers for years, but recently begun using M.A.C.'s Duo large brush spritzed with water to apply and the finish is even better than ever. I dust with a translucent setting powder. Perfection!!!

When I first bought this foundation, I was just in the midst of buying different foundations and trying new products. At first I remember not liking this foundation and what I didn't enjoy was seeing it separate in the bottle.
So I'm not even sure when I started using this foundation almost every day (occasionally switching up on the weekends or special nights out) but I just realized why have I not yet shared how great I think this product is.
I think that this foundation runs around $13. It has medium coverage so if you need to cover up some acne you can either use another coat or use a concealer. I really like this foundation. I use about 2 and 1/2 pumps to cover my whole face so I do use a lot of the product but I've had it for about two months now (if not more) and I still have more than half a bottle i believe. Definitely try this foundation out!

I bought this the other day because I heard it was similar to the Revlon Colorstay as far as medium to full coverage goes. Well, the Colorstay made me break out pretty bad so I decided to take a gentler approach with Almay. I read so many good things about this product that I gave it a shot and I absolutely love it! It's hypoallergenic, won't clog my pores, and therefore won't give me acne (hopefully.) I would describe it as more of a medium coverage, unlike the Colorstay which I consider to be full coverage. I have tons of acne scars, so it was really important to me that I find a way to use this foundation to hide the scars. I apply this foundation with clean hands, then I conceal with the Revlon Colorstay Blemish heal concealer. Lastly, I apply the Almay TLC pressed powder, and WOW it covered up all my imperfections!!!! No scars poking through and no redness! The color really does last as long as it says it does. It actually lasted a good 20 hours with me and I have extremely oily skin. I love this stuff! Will definitely repurchase!

This is a very nice alternative to more expensive long wearing foundations. I have tried ELDW, Smashbox 15 hr., Lancome and several others and this ranks right up there with those. I love the soft finish this provides and it does a nice job of covering my pores. Also, it keeps the shines away longer than the above mentioned foundations. This foundation does have an odd, "gummy" consistency which can make it difficult to apply and even more difficult to layer.
