This product really does control shine. It does what its suppose to do that why i rate it at a 5. I have tried shades medium-deep and still found it to be chalky. I also kept buying this product and retrying. However,I still end up with 1 to 3 cyst. So its not for me. May wanna give it a try for yourself

Have used this for over 5 years now and keep on going back for more. Adds just a small layer of powder for those of us who get a little oily throughout the day. Great staying power.

This is by far the best powder I have used! I have the oiliest skin and this is the first powder that I don't have to reapply every hour. I put it on once in the morning and I am good to go until the afternoon - this is the first powder that actually works to make my skin less oily both to touch and in appearance. I love it! The price is great too as it is less expensive than other powders I have used. I would definitely recommend this one.

I bought this for $10.25 at the Cosmetics Co. Outlet after reading the reviews here. I must say I am impressed. This controls my oily tzone far longer and looks much more natural and feels much better on my skin than anything I've used before.
I tried Clinac OC for awhile but hated the way it made my skin feel - sucked EVERY bit of moisture out of my skin and out of every product I put on top of it, including makeup.
By 3pm, my face looks like I sprayed it with olive oil from a Misto sprayer. Not with Blot. I apply it in the am and I've hardly had to touchup the rest of the day - UNHEARD OF FOR ME. I recommend it highly.

I swear by this product. It blots up any shine in an instant, without changing your existing makeup. This is one of my "must haves" for sure.

This powder is great for shine! It does not provide much coverage but also does not cake at all. I've never considered my complexion to be dark but since everyone has said how light this is, I'm using med/dark in the summer w/my self tanner. I usually feel shiny all day, but w/this in addition to my Mary Kay oil mattifier, I don't have to touch up nearly as much.

This was the first ever MAC product I bought and I can say that I am fairly happy with it. I think it does well on the oil control but does not completely control it for a very long time. I still get a little oily on the sides of my nose after a few hours. I took one lipstick off because I think it makes my pores look dirty and clogged...however it could be the sheer tint Estee Lauder Daywear that I tried.

This is a great powder. Not too expensive and really takes care of any shininess.

this does a pretty good job of controlling shine. i usually do not have TOO much shine on my face, but i do have some, and this controls it. i use a powder brush to lightly dust it on b/c the pad it comes with puts it on too heavily. there is a slight powdery whitish tint (i have it in medium and i'm a PPP) when it goes on, but it disappears after a couple seconds and just blends into skin. does just what i wanted it to do, controls shine without adding any color.

I have this in Medium. Being NC30 right now at the end of winter, I thought that would be okay but I was shocked how pale it was. I was equally shocked that I didn't end up looking chalky after putting it on. I guess that's the whole point. I have a feeling I'll have to upgrade to Medium Dark for the summer but still a great product for my super-shinies.

argh!!! i love mac products, but this did not work for me. i tried it at the mac pro store today... and now, 6 hours later my face is itching like its never itched before... really bad!!!
i've a devotee of studio fix and every other mac product, but this is a disaster for me.
my face tends to be combination .... around the nose gets shiny but the rest of my face is rather dry. i used the blot powder on the nose area and its currently enflamed.

after using blotting products like cornsilk and the body shop papers this was a pleasent surprise. it leaves no white powdery film, (labelled translucent and it is)over my foundation like others do. it lasts pretty long if i apply it with a brush as the final step.

This powder is far superior to any other pressed powder I've tried, and I've tried many! I only like to use pressed powder to control shine, not to add color, and this is perfect for that purpose! I only need to use it once or twice throughout the day and it keeps me from looking too shiny. It does not make me look powdery or cakey, even if applied to the dry areas of my face. I can't say enough good things about it! Medium is probably the best match for most people although you won't see much color on your skin anyway from this. The price is reasonable because it lasts a long time. For all these great attributes, I can handle the fact that the compact isn't terribly attractive.

I don't think I can live without my Blot powder. It takes away the shine without adding color. This black compact is always with me. I have one color for the winter and another one for the summer.

I love this powder! It is one of the best powders for oily skin! I use it to blot midday oilies and it does a wonderful job, keeps me shine-free till the end of the day! It is nice and sheer. It is one of my favourites along with NARS pressed. NARS gives better coverage, but this is superior in terms of oil control, so I use NARS in the morning to even out my skin tone and give me a polished look and then use this for midday touch ups after I blot with Shiseido blotting powders. An excellent product overall, will definitely rebuy!

i think this may be my HG of mattifiers! i got medium and it's a great match for my skin. i apply this after my foundation and mineral veil and it keeps me matte for a lot longer than anything else has! also my touch ups with it last!!, so i only have to touch up maybe twice the whole day. this doesn't add color to my face and doesn't cake (yes!) ... i'm very very happy with this. my only gripe might be the fact that the puff doesn't have its own compartment. but for the price, i'm not gonna complain too much.

Returned this one.

Two words: Holy Grail. Thirty minutes after putting on makeup, my face gets so shiny it's pathetic. Well...I just got this stuff and it is the best that I know. I do my normal makeup routine and when I get to work, I take a blotting paper and then apply MAC Blot. Instant shine remover and does not cake up. Stays shine-free for hours. I have tried so many powders for this and so far, this one wins hands-down especially since it does not cake up which is a big factor in my book. Will definitely repurchase.
