This is a very great makeup remover! It takes off all my eye makeup and other makeup as well. But you need to wipe the product with a damped cotten pad with much effort in order to get everything off. I think I'll switch my face makeup remover to other products, but I'll stick to this as my eye makeup remover. Note that it coats my eyes for awhile. The downside of it is it's very oily and I need to rinse it two to three times with facial cleanser. A great eye makeup remover and the best is it's not pricey at all =)!

I use this only to remove my waterproof mascara (Lancome Flexwp). It does a good job at removing the waterproof mascara but it leaves an oily residue even after I wash my face with a cleanser. Now I am using Sephora Waterproof Makeup Remover which does the same thing but is less oily.

I completely agree with b4byb33 about the smell of this product! It's too bad they discontinued the Lemon version of this excellent cleanser :(
If only Ponds would make a fragrance-free version of their classic Cold Cream formula (no newfangled chemicals, thank you!) I for one would be a loyal customer forever.
But if you can deal with the fragrance in this product, your skin will thank you!

I got this cream cleanser to remove heavy stage makeup that my regular cleanser wouldn't remove. It does do an excellent job at removing makeup, but it's really rich, and feels really oily. Even after trying to wash it off with a cloth my skin was still greasy. A few minutes after washing my face, my skin was softer than ever. Unfortunately I have to give it 3 lippies because the smell made me gag. I don't know why, but I found the smell to be so bad that I can't even describe it. I could only get myself to use it 4 times so far because of this. No breakouts or irritation.

You know those reviews of mundane products like baby oil, cold cream and vaseline where, after trying EVERY high-end product, the reviewer tries the basic product and is won over for life? This is not one of those reviews. Pond's Cold Cream is a wonderful staple, and cheap to boot. I have tried other cream cleansers that were better - namely Clarins Extra Gentle Cleansing Cream and La Mer's cleansing milk. But Pond's is 1/10th the price, easy to locate, if I lose it while I'm travelling - I'm out $4 instead of $40. It is fantastic for dry, sensitive skin. I don't use it in the summer unless I am dry & sunburned. My only grip is the packaging - a tube would be more sanitary.

I bought this a week ago after seeing rave reviews on a television show. I have normal to dry skin that gets the occasional hormonal breakout. I massage this in to my skin and wash of with a warm wash cloth and I can tell you my skin has never felt so soft in my life. Also I haven't had a breakout yet so that is another plus. It also take off ALL eyemakeup (I use a damp cotton pad for this). It think maybe, just maybe, that this is a HG. I'll let you know in future if my opinion changes.

I like this cold cream and would give it 4 lippies for overall rating. It is very effective on removing makeup, specially in winter, it gives some extra protection for my face. The price is very reasonable too! The reason I took off one lippie is because it's too greasy and I have to go one more step (washing my face with facial soap) after I use it. Also, it's very hard to get the cream out without getting it inside my fingernails.

If nothing else, it's an amazing, cheap makeup remover and a great cleanser for wintertime. Sometimes it gets too greasy feeling (in the summer especially), but it leaves your skin so soft and smooth, it's well worth it. There's a reason it's still on the market after all these years, even if it's a bit out of vogue! EDIT: After a few months of using this as my exclusive cleanser, my skin has cleared up, save my one monthly *hormonal* zit. Amazing!!

Good old Pond's. I was searching high & low for the substitute to an eye makeup remover that I liked & got tired of running around - then, when I was totally out of remover & needed something, I bought a little jar of this at the drugstore. I won't be spending money on the fancy modern remover anymore! The trick is to use this & then wash your face, because the oil residue will be removed but your skin won't be dried out.

My mother used this product for years on her gorgeous skin, so I thought I'd give it a try. It removes makeup better than any product I've tried, but does leave a greasy film on the skin that I don't really mind. The main ingredient though is mineral oil though and I wonder how good that is for skin.

I wanted to like this more...something about a classic and everyone's grandma looking good after using this for thirty years made me want to try. And, for $6, why not?
I felt like I was putting diaper cream on my face. I really did. Not like Noxzema at all, which was what I was expecting. I like there are few ingredients to this stuff, but WOW...GREASY.
I will keep though, and use for pesky eye makeup. But as a cleanser, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Edit: 01/03/2013. So I just have to reiterate how's much I love this cleanser. It is a staple in my winter routine. I put this one first and give it a good massage all over. Then I let it sit while I brush my teeth so it has a bit to break up and dissolve the makeup. Then I use sensibo...a French water cleanser, on a cotton pad to take off everything. It thoroughly cleanses my skin without stripping or drying it and I only have enough cold cream on my face to keep it soft. Then I put on Creamy Deep Moisture Vaseline. My skin hasn't looked this good sine I was 21! I can seriously go without makeup! Still my HG!
UPDATE: So a friend of mine gave me a skin cleanser by Carole Franck (nope never heard of her before either) and it is absolutely lovely. It smells of real roses and is kind of a creamy water that very effectively, and without drying me out, cleansed my skin. The problem...it costs 50 bucks. So in my searches online to find a good comparable moisturizing cleanser, I made my way back to Ponds cold cream. I discovered I was misusing it before. I used to get a dollop, smear over my face and then rinse rinse rinse! Sounds stupid now, but I found out how to truly use this. I take a dollop and massage all over my face until it becomes clear and I can see that my makeup is removed. Then I use either a muslin cloth (preferable) or just a face cloth and soak it in hot water. I gently use the cloth to remove all from my face. And then I do a second cleanse to include my neck. The first cleanse only really removes my makeup. The second one actually cleanses my skin. I really massage it well and use a hot cloth to remove again and you know what...my face is glowing! I can't believe it, and for a tenth of the price of the other cleanser. I was merely doing it wrong. My skin before would look great for a week and then go dull, I have been doing this for over a month and my skin is actually improving. I was using harsh cleanser that were actually stripping my skin and now it is being cleansed and moisturized. I have dry skin but now that I am 35 I am definitely looking to show my skin some love. I highly recommend. This is my HG!!
Old Review:I did love this and in a pinch can return to it, after a while, my skin seemed to stop loving it so much. However it is still a great staple, moisturizing, removes make up, and is very gentle. Definitely a oldie but goodie

Edited: My oily skin turned dry overnight and I had to use something quickly. This is very moisturizing without being greasy and leaves my skin very pretty and dewy. It contains beeswax so it gives the same sort of effect that Benefit's "Dr. Feelgood" does on the skin. My only complaint would be that the jar's opening is too narrow for easy use. I thought it stung my eyes but that was my moisturizer, it actually works great at removing my mascara and eye makeup.
The weirdest part: I still have blackheads on my nose even with the dry skin, so I worried that this stuff would exacerbate them: after all, the first ingredient is mineral oil. Guess what? I have LESS blackheads than ever before! Yes, it's true! Plus, now the ones that are left slip out very easily...whereas before, the extractor really left a mark on my face. I am in love with this stuff.

This is the best cleanser I've tried! It does not leave an oily film on the face if you use a very warm, wet waschloth to remove it. In fact, I don't even need moisturizer afterwards, except a little cold cream around eyes. I also had a few pesky pores that have cleared out since using this. I really haven't used any other daily skincare for months and my skin has been happy!

This is the best makeup remover I ever used. It takes off my waterproof mascara and leaves a nice moisturizing feeling around my eyes. I've used this for years (about 25!) and I've tried Lancome, Revlon, Almay, Clinique, Estee Lauder---you get the idea. Nothing works as well as Ponds and it is probably the cheapest, too.

Having dacades of history DOSEN'T make this product good. Hard to whipe off, dosen't remove water-proof mascara well and LEAVES AN OILY FILM ON YOUR FACE. Worst buy so far!

This is the best makeup remover & facial cleanser I have ever used. This is what I thought Cetaphil would be. Not only does this remove all traces of waterproof mascara, it also removes every last bit of makeup and leaves my skin soft and zero breakouts or clogged pores. I use this as a moisturizer as well and love it. Plus you can't beat the price!

My mom has used this stuff since the dawn of time. I've used it, my aunts and grandmothers have used it too. This stuff is perfect for any skin type and it removes makeup perfectly. I don't use it now because I prefer to use something that reminds me less of lotion but sometimes when my face is feeling dry I use my mom's. I also like Oil of Olay, but my mother and I developed an allergy to it after using it for so many years. I love this stuff, and I love the smell. I reccomend this to people with delicate and/or dry skin.
