I use this sometimes as an eyeshadow base. It's great for that, but it's horrible on my face! I have oily skin and this powder looks cakey and rough after minutes. I'm sure it's great for other skin types and I love it around my eyes, but it's just not worth the money for me. I still prefer shiseido or chanel.

I absolutely hate the Bare Minerals foundation. But I love this stuff!! Mineral Veil is a great finishing powder. I apply it after my foundation, concealer, and blush. It just seems to make my skin look better somehow. I mean it is not a miracle product or anything. But I have lots of problems with acne and red spots and even after "spackling" my face with cover-up, this powder gives my skin a more natural, flawless look than any other powder I have tried. I wish it was better at controlling shine though. Overall, I love this stuff and use it pretty much everyday.

Eh...not the miracle powder that the BE infomercials would lead you to believe it is. I use (and love) BE foundation. I initially was faithful in applying the Mineral Veil over it, just as instructed. For whatever reason, I ran out of the MV WAY before I ran out of foundation...so I blended some T LeClerc powder in green (I have pink undertones that it seems to handle) & some Chanel loose translucent powder. Put the mix in the sifter, and I haven't looked back. My custom powder blend actually seems to handle my large pores a little BETTER than the mineral veil. If you're looking to start the BE foundation regimen, try a sample of the MV before spending the money to get the entire regimen - you may find that another powder suits you better.

This is a micro fine mineral powder that should be applied on top of a base. If you have a lot of blemishes on your face, it won't give you the coverage that you want. It gives you a nice glow; however, if you have an oily complexion, you'll find that this product like the other bare escentuals products will leave your face looking very oily after a few hours.

Got this as a sample from a new swapper. This is a little too dark for me over my NC20 concealer. I'm not sure if it'll clog my pores too since it contain cornstarch. I think I still prefer my KP loose powder (shade 01) which is finer and more sheer.

I love this product! The finish it leaves my skin is so pretty. I had this nice subtle glow. I usually "sandwich" it, dust it on a freshly primered face, then my BE foundation and then mv on top of that again. This is perfect for oily skin if you sandwich it. I love mineral veil!!

i have nothing to compare this product to. This is my one and only mmu setting powder that I have ever tried. Suprisingly, it did NOT break me out. You have to be careful when applying, because if you put on too much you will look ghostly, pale, chalky and ashy. does a fairly good job at keeping my oilies at bay for quite a few hours. I use it over mmu and regular foundation.

After reading some good reviews on here and seeing all the infomercials, I had to run out and buy this product. But after using it for two or three days straight, its underneath the sink with all the other "why did i purchase this when i knew it wouldn't work?" makeup. I really wanted to love this product, esp for the price. But aside from the fact that you end up with the entire pot of powder on your brush, and the rest in the sink, on the walls, and on your toothbrush, it did nothing for me. I know, you will say--blend, blend blend...but its all a big white swirly mess. it even fell in my eye. dont think i want to try their foundations now. Ill stick with my HG, Clinique.

This is a great setting powder. Although my favorite is still Laura Mercier's Loose Translucent powder, this is my second favorite. I always use a loose powder (it looks and feels more natural) and this is a great job and setting my foundation. It looks invisible on the skin. Also the powder feel so smooth and creamy, not chalky or talcy. I recommend using it with a large powder puff and not a brush (I never use a brush for setting my foundation).

It goes on well, but I found it wasn't the best powder for a really oily skin.

I used to wear BE's mineral foundation, but I've sinced moved on to Bobbi Brown. Already having spend $36 on one stick of foundation, I was reluctant to spend another $28 on matching powder. So, I remembered my Mineral Veil, and decided to give it a try on top of my BB foundation. It worked like a dream. It was translucent and did immediately give my face that "airbrushed" look.
All that aside, I was most impressed with how well it "glued" my makeup. My t-zone oils up fast, and it managed to keep me matte (without looking dry), and it kept my eye makeup in place. With eye liner, mascara, shadow... none of it melted onto my cheeks after 10 hours. Even after I started to get a little shiny at the end of 8 hours, the eye makeup stayed put as a result of having dusted Mineral Veil over it.
It worked with Bare Escentuals foundation, and it also works with other foundation (in my case, creamy stick foundation).
**A note of warning, though, it has cornstarch as an ingredient, which isn't something people with serious acne or blackhead problems should be putting on their face. It has the potential to clog pores. How was it with me? I have blackhead issues and occasionally break out, but I've had no problem whatsoever with Mineral Veil. (I don't wear makeup often on a regular basis, though.)

Love this stuff. You have to use it over some other foundation though, as it's not meant to cover anything- it's a translucent powder, people! It sets makeup and gives a matte but glowy and natural look. I use it with BE powder foundation, which is my favorite stuff. The only cons are the packaging- the sifter is nice but the powder still spills out a lot onto the top of the sifter. This is a nightmare if you actually drop it! But if you manage not to drop it, this stuff will last for a long long time, so it's worth the money. I'm a BE convert.

I really wanted to love this product, like so many others have. But it didn't seem to do much for me. I expected to see my pores disappear before my eyes, but they didn't. I guess I prefer a powder that gives a heavier coverage. But it does give a silky finish to my face, and seems to even out my skin tone. Works well over foundation. I'm not sure that I'd buy it again, however.

I'm not crazy for this product... although I love BE foundation and Bisque, I find this pretty unnecessary... It doesn't give me the "glow" some people talk about. I wouldn't repurchase, but I'm keeping my big container around (just in case).
EDIT I wrote this review before I could learn to really appreciate MV... you really have to let your skin meld and blend with it, then it can do amazing things for you!

This product was just O.K. for me. I felt that it was a little too chalky/gritty for some reason and after a perfect look with the foundation and blush I honestly don't like using any more powder on my face. If you're accustomed to wearing loose powder, this is the one to use. I am just not a loose powder type of gal. I like a little sheen and the powder just does too good of a job controlling natural oil. I can definitely live without this product but I agree that it is a nice powder for those who use powder.

This is great. I use this over bare minerals foundation spf 15... or under it and over it when I'm really hot and sweaty in the summer. Its great for a matte look, for oily skin, and to keep your makeup from comming off. No color, very natural, makes your makeup feel like its not even there. Oh you can also use it alone, for a matte look, but it won't really cover up anything..but it does make the foundation look smoother coverage when its on top.

This is a very good loose powder. I have combo skin and it keeps the shiney part matt, while not accentuating any dry bits. I use it to 'set' my Chantecaille Real Skin, and it makes it last all day. I also discovered that Mineral Veil is the best solution ever for creasing eye shadows. Brush lid lightly with MV after applying eye shadow (especially creme ones), and you get last-all-day eye colour with no creases! Will buy again.

Nice overall finish in combination with the foundation and makeup line. Locks in color and makeup. Must have if using BE BM makeup.

I'm not a foundation user, and the only place that I really need any coverage is my nose. So I apply a bit of MV with a big poofy brush, and it magically makes all imperfections (pores, blackheads, red spots, etc) disappear! And it looks totally natural, which is important to me! I am acne-prone, but this hasn't made me break out at all. Wonderful product.

This is a winner in my book. I use it instead of foundation. During my "paler" months, I mix just a bit with a bronzing powder, then apply. I wish it came in a pressed form, but I'll deal with it. MV really does give me that candlelit, soft-focus look. Yeah BE!
