What drew me to this foundation initially was that the display in the drugstore actually had testers! I never see this, so I was excited! Finally a way to match drugstore foundation without trial and error buying :P

This foundation is really nice, easily blendable and gives medium to full coverage. It evened out my skintone and looked matte with a bit of glow. However, after only a few hours of wear, my t-zone started to look rather shiny even though I had set with powder. I think this foundation would be best suited to those with normal to dry skin - it doesn't control shine enough for my combo skin.

i was using bare escentuals for 3 or 4 years before trying this, but it was making my pores really apparent and i was just generally not a fan any longer, so i bought this after hearing good things.

it has decent coverage, and i don't hate it, but i will not buy it again and here's why. it turns slightly orange on my face after a little while, and that's not a good look. while it doesn't necessarily settle into my pores, it does settle into the very fine lines i have around my eyes and make them really noticeable, and i am 20 years old. come on. it dries to a way too powdery finish and looks really dry and masky on my face.

as for pros, though, the shade is perfect for me before it oxidizes, it's pretty easy to blend, the packaging is really cute and good for travel since it has both the locking pump and a cap, and it has pretty decent light to medium coverage.

The only reason I am giving this a three is because of the color choice. I brought this in the darkest shade coco and it did not match me. It wasn't too dark but the undertone of it was all wrong. I have more of a red undertone and this had too much yellow in it which made me look strange and washed out. I have this color in the age rewind foundation and I didn't have that problem. Oh well I am taking this back tomorrow. However, it did feel nice on my skin and left a nice finish if it wasn't for the color problem I would have liked it.

Well, after seeing the commercial, I really wanted this foundation to work for me, but I was skeptical. Plus, I absolutely LOVE my Instant Age Rewind liquid foundation in Light 3 -- its a perfect match for my skin color. (I'm a "Rose" in Prescriptives -- and its a huge challenge to find foundations that match my skintone since my skintone has a pinkish tone.)

Anyway, I was out of my Instant Age Rewind liquid, and while at Walgreens picking more up, they had a BOGO-half off on foundation. So, i picked up the Dream Liquid Mouse at half price in Light 3, same color I buy in Instant Age Rewind liquid and creme foundations.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The color is not the same or consistent with other Maybelline Light 3 -- its less pink (which might be good for most people, but definitely not for me). The makeup made my skin look more ruddy than the color I get with Light 3 in Age Rewind. It appears to have more coverage, slightly more dewey, yet matte finish (if that's even possible).

Perhaps my findings are a bit squewed because the color was wrong for me. I might look at the Light 1 and see if it might be a better match and try it again.

On the positive note, my mother-in-law was looking for a new foundation to replace her Merle Norman (the shop closed in her neighborhood). I gave this to her since it didn't work for me. She actually likes this foundation as a substitute for her Merle Norman.

+++++ UPDATE ++++++
I changed my rating (from 3 to 5) for this as I have re-discovered it in a lighter color, Porcelain Ivory 1. This is the perfect shade for me -- finding the right shade made all the difference.

I saw a commercial on TV for this product that said it would not settle into pores. I have icepick acne scars, and foundation always settles into them and accentuates them. I wondered if this product would help with this.
It really does! This foundation has the lightest texture I have ever seen in a liquid. It rests lightly on the skin, is not cakey and does not settle into pores, scars or lines. It gives medium coverage and it's pretty buildable.
It makes my skin look fresh and glowy and best of all, like I am not wearing makeup!

I was wearing BE for about a year before this. I am much happier with Dream Liquid Mousse.

This is the best foundation for me and I have spent a lot of time/money looking. It doesn't provide heavy coverage, so I needed to use a concealer with it. (fine with me) What it does provide me with is a natural flawless skin finish. Not too matte, not mask-like at all, not too dewey. Didn't settle into my pores too much. Totally natural. I fought with BareMinerals forever, but couldn't get used to the slight glittery finish and it did accentuate my pores. I am so glad I gave up on BareMinerals and went back to liquid foundations. Overall, I thought this product was simply perfect. I am using the shade light2, classic ivory. I tend to be a bit oily on the tzone. So I set with a bit of powder. I hope this product stays on the store shelves and doesn't get discontinued. It's perfect for me.

feeling: feels like a light weight moisturizer, not a foundation.
packaging: so cute and compact, with a pump, the pump locks, and has a cap.
price: 7 to 8$$
coverage: light to medium, for blemishes use a good concealer( nyx concealer in a jar)
color: perfect match for me, in need of more colors.
skin looks fresh, natural, and as if there is no makeup on.
best use with setting powder such as silica loose powder, or any to control oil.
i personally love it. :)

I bought this foundation about a month ago without having read any of the reviews. Maybelline's lightest shade matches my skin really well, so when I saw this was BOGO I picked it up. The packaging is great and about two pumps gives me great coverage. I usually use my fingers to apply, but earlier today I tried applying it with the Prescriptives foundation brush, and it applied flawlessly. My skin tends to be dry, so I like to moisturize really well before applying, because I find that foundation accentuates my dryness.

Overall this foundation is amazing. It seems to sit well on my skin and doesn't appear to be too cakey. I can finally achieve the airbrushed, dewey skin look.

I wholeheartedly agree with ModHippie's review below. I purchased the lightest shade offered. Usually Maybelline looks to pink or orange on me, but this was in fact a "dream" on first application: totally blended into my skin with perfect color match (I am N4, NW20ish in MAC for reference). It also truly did airbrush away my flaws.

The problem is that even after setting this foundation with powder, I only get about an hour of two of "flawlessness" (I tried with Carmindy for Sally Hansen, and Revlon Colorstay Powder). I soon get oily, having to reapply and blot, but to no avail. I even tried to reapply the foundation later in the day, but it made no difference.
If Maybelline could figure out how to make this foundation *stay* the way it looks when first applied, I would be in heaven. I love the pump, I love the color. I wish it stayed for the entire day :(

I really liked this foundation. I've tried everything from Clinique to Cover Girl and always got eh results. This foundation does give you a airbrushed/dewy finish. It's very smooth product. Covers very well and doesn't feel heavy. I bought the lightest shade and the color is spot on..usually lighter shades look pinkish on me but this is really a great color. The pump works really well too. It doesn't deliever too much make up out at once. Nice price. Hope this product is around for a long time!

I found the dream mousse (the cream type one) was better suited for oily skin. The concept appears to be the same, but if you have oily skin like me, you will get shiny forehead in a short time. I guess that it's just not meant to be used by people with oily skin. I am still looking for a good foundation that could hide my pores, old pimple scars, imperfection, etc, or at least make them not so obvious. I can try using concealers, but who would have the luxuary to put "layers" in the early morning ;) Keep searching and hope I will find a suitable one.

I really wanted to love this stuff, but it seems like the only way I ever could is if I only needed foundation to look good for five minutes. I bought it a few months back, still on the search for the perfect foundation (my HG now is Revlon ColorStay, which I discovered only fairly recently, and it's the closest to perfect that I've ever encountered) because I thought it looked really enticing. And, right after putting it on it looks like a dream come true, really supplying that promised airbrush finish. Albeit, I have to use a liberal amount (I'm flabbergasted that some people use two pumps for the day, it dispenses the tiniest bit it a time and I had to keep on pumpin'). But, like I said, that lasted all of 5 minutes, and that "dewy" look that other reviewers find turned into, as someone else has already said, a sort of oil slick on me. Even when I powdered or blotted with oil sheets, the shine always comes back. The coverage is also not the greatest, as I began to see old acne scars clearly again.

It seems as though I forgot that about this makeup, because yesterday I was on this site and reading all the positive reviews for this product (at the time every single review on the first page gave it 5 stars), and I thought to myself, man, I have to dig that out and give it another try! Well, I put it on again this morning, again hoping that I'd love it, and it fell short again. I looked into the bathroom mirror between classes and I was so shiny, I knew I'd made a mistake by putting it on in the first place.

Alas, I remembered why it was relegated to the "uuuuugh" makeup pile.

I really really wanted to like this stuff. I bought it hoping the 'poreless' slogan they got going on in the commercials was true (my pores are huge). Unfortunatly, it WASNT. It's just like any other liquid foundation. Nothing 'air-whipped' about it. But it doesn't COVER like a good liquid should. No, you could still see every pimple, discoloration, and yes, PORE on my face. Also, I have oily skin and this stuff made my face look like an oil slick in just under an hour (A new record for me.) It also gave me the worst breakout I've had in a while.

Overall, a disappointment. So the search for the perfect (or at least half-way decent) foundation continues...

This product is absolutely the most natural looking foundation I have ever used. It covers acne scars well and leaves your face looking really smooth and pretty...does not look like your wearing any makeup. The down side: i have mildly oily skin, and after about 2 hours of wearing it, my skin looks really really shiny and it seems to rub off easily when I would go to the bathroom to blot some oil of my face with a paper towel. I give it three lippies, because although it looks amazing when I first put in on, it makes my skin super greasy after a while of wearing it and rubs off very easily.

I LOVE this. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
It covers so nicely and gives me a slightly dewy finish. It has a great pump which I like. It stays on my face for atleast 10 hours if I apply a little setting powder after. It feels so smooth and nice on my skin! I have dry cheeks and an oily t-zone. With this you can't even tell that i have dry skin, and it doesn't rub off because of my oily area either.
I love this and it's great for the price!!!

This really gives a airbrushed finish! The color selection is a little odd. I had to get the lightest shade ( I am a Mac nc20). The coverage is really nice and it doesn't feel heavy and not cakey on my dry areas. It has been really humid here. This has held up all day ( I use a primer before) and I have had to hardly blot any shine from my tzone!

i heard good rave about this. i saw it at walgreens and i thought cool... i have it in the matte pot one and i seem to like it, it's very natural, it blends very easily and no streaks but i dunt like the little roll things when ur using a sponge but ne wayz... the liquid form is alright it feels kinda thick it covers better than the matte moouse. it does cover redness... it feels thick on my skin tho and like everyone said, it has a dewy finish, and it looks nice like ur natural skin, it is heavier than the matte. the matte has a powdery finish. i dun think this will be good to use in a hot summer day. the color selection is okay. i got the medium 1 in sandy beige. but i only used it today we'll c how it works out when i use it latter on. the matte doesn't cover redness very well...

I swapped with someone and I was supposed to get the mousse, but instead they gave me the liquid. I was upset at first, and then I tried it. I LOVE IT!
I applied it to half my fave with a damp sponge applicator and there was a HUGE difference! My redness was covered, I had an airbrushed look, my skin was soft and didn't look like I was wearing anything!
I am in love!
I will def. buy this again!

I've been on a search for great foundation ever since maybelline discontinued the 3 in 1 stick...and let me just say, I LOVE this product. Nothing in the last couple years compares to how great this is. I'm not a fan of the dream matte mousse so I decided to try this since walgreens had a buy one get one free, good thing I did!
Pros:
*Dewy finish, more dewy if you add moisturizer
*soft and light
*has testers! (very very very very rarely does one ever see testers from drug store makeup)
*Not orangy
*doesn't cause breakouts (finally I found one woo hoo)
*awesome coverage especially if you apply two coats (covers acne mild acne scars, cheek redness, under eye darkness, redness by the nose, and pimples)
* doesn't give a caked on look (with multiple coats)
*great bottle design
*doesn't make dry skin flakies more noticeable (and doesn't dry out the skin

Cons
*Doesn't last as long as I would like, but still lasts almost up to an 8 hour day if you don't rub your face
*slightly comes off on clothes if you have a collared shirt on

I will definitely buy this again, my search is over!
