i cannot believe all the terrible reviews for this cleanser! i mistakenly bought this when i was meaning to repurchase Neutrogena's Deep Clean face wash but decided to try it out anyways and i think it's perfectly acceptable. i have pretty normal, clear skin that can be slightly sensitive to certain things but lately i have been having a terrible problem with breakouts on my chin and was hoping that this cleanser might help with clearing those up. unfortunately, i haven't noticed it making much of a difference with the congested pores and so that's why i'm giving it 4 lippies instead of 5. other than that, it performs perfectly well. it removes my makeup thoroughly, doesn't leave any residue when i rinse and doesn't dry my skin out at all (and my skin is nowhere near oily). lately i've been trying a sample tube of Tazorac for my chin problems and so that area of my face has been flakier than usual but even with that i haven't noticed this cleanser making things excessively dry. i guess it just goes to show you how different people's skin reacts to different things. this cleanser hasn't wow-ed me enough for me to remain loyal to it (i actually prefer Neutrogena's Deep Clean face wash) but there's no reason i wouldn't repurchase it, either. it does it's job and doesn't cost and arm and a leg. try it out!

I used to use this cleanser in my teen years. I remember very well that it was super drying. It's not really effective on acne. But worst, my skin was peeling (near the nose area)! This cleanser also feels very tight on my skin after rinsing. Do not like it.

Well when i first used this it helped a bit with acne but thats about it. After continued use my skin got veeeery dry. so dry that my foundation looked cakey and gross, i now use it once a day (morning) and use spectro jel at night.

I usually dont use neutrogena's skin care becasue they are harsh on my skin however, I tried this face wash and it quickly dried my current pimples but not my face! I was really happi and now all I have left are those stupid scars :( but it really works. Just make sure you use a good moisturizer :))

i have a dry skin but i got breakouts sometimes, so i tried this to make my breakouts gone but this one doesnt worked for me at all, it just gave me a drier skin and my breakouts got bigger.. so what i did,i just put a medicated cream on my acne and the next day they all gone!
i've learned that, if the cleanser or cream or anything is not for your skin type, dont ever ever attempt to use it or else it will cause you bad results..

i used this in high school when i was breaking out the most. it is not the best cleanser for acne, but i kept buying it ! i like the semi gentle cleaning effect on this thing and how it cleaned my face, but didn't do a whole lot for my acne.

It does dry out my skin a bit, but it works. I have re-purchased :)

I should start by saying I've used both the Neutrogena and Equate (Walmart) versions of this. Both are essentially the same product, but the Equate is about $2 cheaper so that's the one I usually buy.
I have combination, acne-prone skin that is oily in the summer, dry in the winter. I can only use this face wash in the warmer months when my skin is oilier, because it is too drying any other time. I am happy with this product though when used at the appropriate time for my skin. It removes the oil, dries my skin just enough, and seems to clear up my acne faster than when I don't use it. My face seemed smoother and clearer as soon as I started using it. If I experience overdrying, I just use Cetaphil (my other staple) for a day or so then go back to this one. I will continue to purchase!

Doesn't do much for my acne, I've noticed it only got rid of some of my acne but not all. I hate that it makes my skin feel so tight and dry afterwards. It is a pretty cheap acne wash for those maybe with few pimples.
