I bought this in C2 because several people posted this was the equivalent to NC10. Well it sure as hell isn't!!! I wear NC15, and the C2 was darker and yellower than the NC15. It made me look jaundiced.
I have very dry areas on my face and this was just a patchy application overall. I couldn't even get any kind of coverage on my nose or over the rosacea-areas on my cheeks/nose. I tried a sponge and brush, I don't use fingers because I can't get a smooth application with anything that way. My skin is just too dry in certain areas.
Right now I guess I'll stick with my Urban Decay Naked foundation in 0.5,, or Studio Fix Fluid in NC15 mixed with about a drop or two of Estee Lauder Double Coverage in...whatever their lightest is (I don't have the tube here).

I am not a fan of this product at all. I have oily skin, and this makes my skin look and feel greasy within hours of applying. Also, their color selection is very limited and it didn't really match my skin tone! I'm guessing I can try it out on my body, but I dont really wear foundation on my body so it's just sitting in my makeup drawer, wasting space.

I'm pretty sure this is the one for me!! My HG everyday foundation and I actually was never interested in this ever! It wasn't until I stumbled across the reviews on this site and figured I should give it a try even though my expectations were low.
I just got it yesterday and I am loving it so much. I love the finish, I love how sheer and dewy it is. My skin peeks through because its lightweight, but buildable, and like I said, sheer but it evens out my skin beautifully.
The bottle is huge! I got the 4 oz bottle for $33. I am an nc35 for reference. The online makeup artist said to get c4 and the color is a tad dark but you can't tell when you blend it out. I will order this in c3 asap because I love it that much.
My only issue is the squirt top. Its messy and leaks. when I shake it up before use, I unscrew the top and cover the hole with my finger so it doesn't get all over the cap but for how good the foundation is, I don't care :) everyone should pick this up. I don't know what took me so long.

I absolutely love this! I have a lot of acne scaring that this DOES NOT cover however I use my prolong wear concealer to cover that with even full coverage foundations. What I love about this is the finish it makes your skin look so radiant and healthy defiantly can not tell I am even wearing foundation! Will repurchase this over and over and may even be able to call it my HG another amazing thing is the amount of product you get it equals out to even less then a drugstore foundation. The only con I have is that I was color matched to C1 and for some reason they don't sell that shade in the 4 oz bottle? So I will need to go to the counter and see if I can wear N1 before ordering online. But oh we'll still amazing:) I use prolong wear concealer (mixed with moisturizer) face and body then set with mineralized skin finish for the most natural, healthy, and non cakey look:)

I am surprised reading some reviews that this product has gotten. This product is used heavily for runway shows. It has a very sheer coverage which can be buildable. If you have bad skin I would recommend MAC Studio Sculpt (if you want to stick to MAC).
PRO:
-Not thick
-Looks great and natural. Matches skin perfectly. Doesnt make me look like I ran a marathon.
-Doesn't look cakey if you use the right amount
-Doesn't dry out skin
-Lasts long (all day for me)
-Great price for the amount
-Comes in different bottle sizes
-Have not broken out from it
CON:
-Sometimes the bottle disburses TOO much foundation so be CAREFUL or you will have a hand full of product and will need to repurchase. But the bottle is super cute and different compared to other foundations! I like the look of it

When I tried out this foundation last summer, I was around NC30-5 and it was difficult to find a color match. I was matched to C4 but it looked too dark. C3 was too light. And honestly, I'm not going to buy two foundations to mix.
Other than the color match, I really liked how buildable this was and the finish was so natural.
Unfortunately, this made my normal/combo skin look oilier than normal. But still, I was convinced to make it work. I got MAC Blot and all kinds of oil controlling powders but still...the lasting power of this foundation was not good and I was still looking oily at the end of the day.
In addition to all this, something in this made my skin itch in a bad way. I've never had this problem before with any foundation.
So back this went. I would recommend this for dry skinned girls but I don't think you need to have perfect skin for this. Spot concealing with this foundation is an ease and using your fingers is best for applicaiton.

in terms of color matching, this is the truest shade to my skin tone that i've ever found. this formula blends in perfectly. i like natural looking make up, so this is the perfect foundation for me. be aware that the coverage is very sheer. if you have acne or not so-great-skin this is definitely not for you.
the first time i applied it i got nervous because it was so dewy and i looked oily. the sales woman assured me that this was because the formula is water based. i was surprised because i have normal skin that rarely ever gets oily. after a few minutes though, it sunk into my face and looked MUCH better. i recommend setting it with a powder for a more matte finish.
if you're looking for coverage that is light and natural, this is for you. if you need something heavier, go with studio fix.

This is my HG foundation. It's creamy, radiant, build able, and long-lasting, EVERYTHING I would ever look for in a foundation. It makes me look like I just stepped out of an Olay or Proactive commercial, so glowing and healthy! I have it in C2, which is perfect for my neutral/olive skin. It really brought out my more golden undertones, and made me radiate health. It made me look like me, but a thousand times better, which is more than I even hoped for from this foundation.
I recommend this with all my heart! The packaging isn't anything special, but you get a lot of product for the money and it lasts forever.

I was searching for a light water-based foundation as I stumbled upon Macs face and body foundation.
I try to give you the most accurate information on my skintone, skintype and skin issues, so you can make a guess, if this foundation could work for you.
Skintone:
Iīm a quite pale-toned girl with slightly yellow undertones in my skin. Not too warm-toned, but definitely not cool toned. Neutral leaning towards yellow would be the closest description.
Like everyoneīs skin, my skin is a mixture of colours: I have some redness in my skin, especially around my nose, which can make my skin look ruddy and uneven. Some brown spots from too much melanin in my skin and some red-purple scars from pimples. And the smallest bit of pink in my skin as I lean more towards yellow-olive-beige pigments. My skin usually looks dull and lifeless.
Donīt get me wrong my skin is not that bad, itīs just that the mixture of all this results in a very uneven skintone.
Iīm Mac NC 15-NC20, BB sand, Bourjois Vanilla 52.
Skintype: My skin is basically combo skin, which is sensitive, dehydrated, acne-prone and getting dry when wintertime arrives. And I have dry patches sometimes, which are really annoying because itīs so hard to make your foundation work with these.
Skin Issues: Besides the general discoloration in my skintone, I have a melasma on my upper lip, pigment spots and lighter pimple scars from hormonal break outs.
My skin is acne-prone, but I never broke out from foundation. I never even knew I could react towards a foundation until I tried the Bourjois healthy mix and got major pimples.
Generally, my skin suffers from a lack of glow and healthy appearance as my skin looks dead, pale and dull. When I wake up and look in the mirror - OMG. I look ghostly with this skin.
What do I want from the foundation:
The foundation should get the redness out of my skin and even out my skintone. Should make my skin look more uni-coloured and not like the usual mess of redness and pigmentation. Also should not cling to dry patches, not make me break out or even dry out my skin. And I like the most natural finish thatīs possible for my skin with the most accurate colour match I can get.
Thatīs a lot to ask for.
But the f&b did it!
Surprisingly, I got the perfect colour match for my skintone with C1. I was surprised as MACs NCs were always too yellow for me and I couldnīt wear NW. But this seems to be more neutral toned.
I looked at the foundation in daylight, artificial light and sunlight and what can I say: Itīs undetectable in the best way.
I even applied it only on one half of my face and the only difference I saw was that the redness was eliminated and my skin looked like "my skin but better".
Thereīs no difference in the colour of my neck and the colour of my face when Iīm wearing this. Famous MUA Mary Greenwell suggested, that you check the colour of the foundation on the side of your neck. I did test it on my face AND my neck.
My skin gets that dewy look I always long for and looks fresh and healthy.
But I will not lie to you, this may be buildable, but itīs a very sheer foundation to start with.
My approach on foundation is to use the lightest formula I can get away with to even out my skintone and then cover up blemishes, spots and remaining redness with a heavier concealer like BBs face touch up stick.
I donīt see the need to totally cover my face in heavy foundation, when the major part of my skin is alright and only small areas in my face need more coverage. Cloaking my skin 100 % with full coverage foundation while only 2 % of my skin needs extra coverage would make me look unnatural and cakey. This minimalist principle even works with acne skin, if you want the proof, check out Lisa Eldridges video on acne/blemish covering make up.
You must give the bottle a good shake before you apply this, otherwise, you get a greasy mess out of the tube.
Before I put on foundation, I always apply a hydrating serum, moisturizer and a spf 50 sunscreen.
I apply this with my clean fingers to really massage it into the skin and make it even more natural. The warmth of the fingers and the massaging makes it look like skin.
I wear no powder on top, because powder takes the lovely glow of the floundation away.
It lasts 8 hours on my skin and doesnīt settle in the dry patches and fine lines.
I cannot tell yet if this breaks me out, but the MAC foundations I used never broke me out. So I hope, this will work for my skin too as I would be devastated, if this broke me out.
Right now, Iīm happy to have such a light and fine foundation with the best colour match I ever had.
I dare to say, my skin looks gorgeous with this foundation.
Sorry for the long review, but hope, this was helpful.

I have pretty good skin with some light acne scarring and redness around my nose. I also have combination skin, which borders on combination oily, sometimes a little dehydrated in the winter. This foundation was alright, it covered redness and did an okay job of covering my light scarring. It's so fine that you really can't tell that you're wearing anything. It gives off a mildly dewy finish, and smells like oranges. I wanted something that provided light coverage so that my freckles would show through, which is why I bought this originally. I was using Urban Decay's Naked foundation before this, which I really do like, but I went through a bottle fairly quickly and it's a little pricey. With that being said, this foundation gave me terrible cystic acne within 2 days of wearing it. I'm talking about really painful, deep acne that takes forever to go away. And I don't usually break out. So unless you basically never get acne no matter what, I'd avoid this product. Otherwise it's alright..
For reference I'm a NC15 and wore a C1, which was just a slight touch too dark for me. It'd probably suit someone with NC20 skin better, but since it's so sheer, it doesn't really matter.

This is my HG foundation! I like how it is a very buildable coverage without looking cakey. It is a bit on the watery side of the liquid foundation which makes it very easy to apply, I use my fingers. It is a demi-matte finish but that could be easily changed, if you want a dewy finish spritz some Fix+ beforehand. So far it hasn't broken me out and there is no fragrance to the foundation. I suggest this product for someone who is looking for a nice and simple everyday foundation. I also advise to use it with a primer (MAC Skin Base Visage) for better results!

I feel like this foundation's performance highly depends on the temperature of the room you're applying it in and wearing. When it's warm, this glides on a lot easier and has a smoother finish. When it's cold, this is super streaky with a myriad of brushes (foundation, flat top kabuki, rounded kabuki, fingers, mixed with moisturizer, most sponges except for beautyblender). You have to buff it in a lot which is irritating... Sometimes I spend way more time trying to aggressively blend it on my skin than I do with filling in eyebrows or mascara application. It dries VERY quickly which probably contributes to the streakyness. I bought this when MAC only offered it in the 4.0 oz size.. It is a great value amongst most foundations but I think I have a hard time getting through that amount without it the components separating after a year (friend's experience with it). I have stored it in the fridge in the summertime to keep it from separating and I have kept it out in my makeup storage in the colder months. It is been about 9 months (no separation yet) since I bought it but I wish I had just bought something else instead. I don't think it lasts that long unless I powder over it. At least it doesn't transfer if I'm cuddling with my boyfriend and I don't have to worry about that possibility of flesh colored stuff on his shirt.

I LOVE this product. It's sheer yet buildable and very natural looking. I only need to use a small amount to get the result I want so it's quite economical. I was happy to find a color that matches my skin tone perfectly. It's also light and comfortable and feels like you aren't wearing any make-up at all. Finally, it wears well throughout the day. It's got all the features I want in a foundation - what more could I ask for?

As a matter of fact, I can say cystic acne, which is what I walked away with after wearing this product for a few hours. I went to the MAC counter for a BB cream but the SA talked me into this one. I'm N7 with very oily skin, and I do not wear makeup. I thought it would be nice though to wear something light to even out my tone. A few hours later my skin looked as oily as oily can be! All day I kept having to blot, blot, blot. By the end if the day, a painful cystic pimple just above my right jawline. And the search continues....

Can someone say cystic acne? This foundation has potential and good qualities, which is why I gave it a 2 rating, but the ingredients are unfortunately not friendly to skin that is prone to breakouts. At the end of the day and the day after using this foundation, without fail, I would get painful large pimples on my otherwise extremely clear skin. I could not make this work for me, which is unfortunate because it is one of the few foundations that does not leave a powdery silicone finish on the skin that I really dislike. I have since discovered MUFE's Face and Body foundation which is EXCELLENT and even better than MAC's in terms of coverage and finish. Of course, no cystic acne from that one. I definitely recommend MUFE's formula, it is superior in so many ways to this one.

Turned my chronically dry skin into an oil slick!
I have terribly dry skin. I have a constant struggle with dry flakey patches on my face. After reading the reviews, I thought this foundation might be perfect for me... wrong!
When I first applied, I thought this might work. It left a really nice dewy finish. Two hours later, I looked at myself in the mirror, and was horrified to see my face was an oily mess! The first time in my life that I looked oily! I used toilet paper to blot it from my skin (which removed most of the product - bright orange on the paper too, this oxidized like crazy)
Day two - I applied VERY sparingly, thinking I might have used too much. I set with a matte powder and went about my day. Again, two hours later, it looked like I spread butter all over my face!
Won't be repurchasing.

I like this foundation but it's not one I would purchase. I got a sample at my MAC counter and have tried it out for a few days. It would NOT be good for people with oily skin or acne. It is kind of a thin liquidy formula that smells like citrus. When you put it on it blends into skin easily but does not cover much. The finish is dewy and it looks very natural. I set it with MAC MSF Natural and it gave it a little more coverage. This is more like a tinted moisturizer for me and I prefer thicker coverage so I won't be purchasing but nice for people who like light coverage. Also it is extremely similar to MUFE Face & Body.

I recently purchased this foundation in C6 after recovering from a terrible breakout after wearing Bobbi Brown Long Wear Even Finish Foundation. I read in other reviews on here that this Bobbi Brown foundation has lavender oil in it, which I am sure caused my breakout. In the past I used MAC Mineralize Skinfinish liquid foundation in NC42/45 and liked the dewy finish it gave me. However, I never really felt like I could get an exact color match and always had to buy both NC42 and NC45 which can get expensive!
I decided to take a chance and buy C6 online based on pics and reviews. I am so happy I did! The color match is perfect for me! Since it's so light my skin can still breathe even with a finishing powder, and I haven't gotten any new breakouts. I have oily skin, so I use a loose powder to finish and haven't needed to reapply throughout the day. The amount of foundation you get for the money is awesome with the larger 120ml bottle. I like the squeeze bottle much better than the pump on other MAC foundations since you can choose exactly how much product you want and get all of the foundation out of the bottle.
Other reviewers have commented on having difficulty using a brush with this foundation. I use Urban Decay's Optical Blurring Brush which amazingly blends this foundation with a stippling application. I also don't need to use as much of the product (only one layer) with this technique, and the effect makes it look like I'm not even wearing foundation. This is absolutely my HG foundation.

I like the coverage of this foundation as it's light and I can build up the coverage if needed. I can also layer on concealer where needed and my whole face doesn't look heavily layered with makeup. I've never tried it on my body though, so I can't say how well it holds up.

This product was recommended to me by my friend who is a makeup artist. I love it and here are the reasons why - 1. The packaging is great it allows you to squirt out the exact amount you need, better than a pump or any other type of packaging I have seen. 2. The price is great considering the amount of product you get. 3. The color blends so well 4. It's great for people like me who don't like thick cake like foundation 5. My skin absorbs it really well, it looks dewy after. The only negative comment I can make is that it took me a while to get the hang of how to apply it. I can't apply it with a brush, it just doesn't work for me. I just apply with my fingers. If you do a single layer the coverage is very minimal, so I let it dry and add another layer. You just have to play with it to see what works for you. It's a great buy, my favorite MAC foundation.
