Works great as a mask and spot treatment! Reduces my zits & pimples drastically. However, I have to warn that this mask also works as an effective face whitener as well. Leaving it on for the directed 15 minutes will simple "brighten" your face, but leaving it on for more than an hour will lighten your skin 2+ shades. I left it on yesterday for 1-1.5 hours and even after washing my face 3x, I look like I am 2 shades lighter. I confirmed my hypothesis when I applied MUFE HD Foundation in 120, a shade that was 2-3 notches too light for me before. I even took pictures in flash and to my disbelief, the shade blended right in instead of giving a "masked" geisha result. Only problem now is my face is 3-4 shades lighter than my neck (it's always darker than my face) and the difference is drastic. I'll have to purposely try to whiten my neck to catch up with my face.

I love this stuff. This is the only spot treatment I will use...other stuff never works. If i feel a cystic blemish coming on...i dab this immediately and leave until it is fully absorbed which is usually by the next morning....the blemish will never come up...and if the pimple is already too developed, dab it on anyways and it'll help dry it out..I'm interested in trying mario badescu's drying lotion based on the fact that i have a giftcard to nordstrom and i'm about to run out of this stuff that isn't exactly cheap....I saw a knock-off brand by acnefree and picked it up on impulse but I haven't tried it..anyways, this is great for preventing premature zits.

I have tried this product MANY times over the past four or five years, and every time I end up regretting it. Yes, my skin looks better after using it--for about two days. Then, my face breaks out horribly. I don't know why I keep thinking that I'll get different results, but I'm through with it! This stuff is crap in a tube.

This product is really good at decreasing the size of large pimples and even clears away little pimples. But sometimes its too over drying. But Still Love it.

Eh this product is so, so. It's not a miracle worker by any means but being a sulfur mask, it is good for reducing inflamation if used as a spot treatment as well as reduces redness. I use it as a mask also and it works to remove excess bacteria when it's dried up and removed. I hate proactiv after believing it worked for years, but do like this 1 product. I will not repurchase but will finish up the tube I have.

I use this product as a spot treatment and a spot treatment only. Pro Activ is entirely too harsh for my entire face (and I hate the smell of those products), but this does the trick if I feel I have a blemish coming on. I put a bit of this on, leave it on overnight, and in the morning it was as if the blemish never happened. For those that do show their ugly heads, this makes them disappear much faster.

Currently I would repurchase, but if I was able to find another cheaper alternative, I wouldn't repurchase this. As of currently I haven't used it in over a month so the amount of product lasts me long enough to not really want to find another alternative.

The overall system totally dried my skin out. But this product was great. It does dry up blemishes and it makes them go away quicker. It's just a bit pricey, $30 CAD for, in my opinion, a tiny tube. We have a kiosk in our mall and it does quite a while for them to receive more stock, but I would definitely buy this product again.

by far the best proactiv product!! just dabbing some on a zit overnight completely clears it up!! (the sulphur maybe?) im not into the smell though but overall it rocks!

I used this over a year ago, before I went on Accutane.
The overall system sucked, but this mask was excellent. It was the only part of the system I enjoyed, and did not want to give up.

I won't buy it again, I just wanted to say that it is a great face mask, and for me it did what it was supposed to.

This really works for acne prone skin. It is drying, and smells nasty once you apply the toner after you rinse it off. It works though!

Great for under the skin pimples when left on over night. It reduces redness and shrinks the pimple. I like that this product is paste like so it stays put while sleeping and a little goes a long way for the price. I keep it on hand for small break outs.

I was on ProActiv's 3-step system for a little over a year. It wasn't anything spectacular, and way too expensive to keep up with. But I have to say that my favorite part of the kit was the free sample that came with it -- the Refining Mask.


The first thing I noticed when putting on the mask was the smell (sulfur smells like rotten eggs), but I got over it quickly. It's like a white paste. Nice consistency, not too thick or runny. It stays put very well.


This does a great job of absorbing excess oils, and I find that it also does well in controlling oil after I use it. I have acne-prone oily skin, so people with particularly dry skin might find themselves slathering on moisturizer after washing this mask off.


It's a decent spot treatment too. After leaving on a dab on a pimple overnight, the zit does look smaller in the morning.


I got this for like $8 on eBay, but I think the actual retail price is more expensive. As long as I can keep finding this on eBay, I'll keep repurchasing.

This stuff is pretty good, definetly removes oil really well! Also i have dabbed a little on bad pimples over night and it dries them out alot. I do feel this mask could do a little more but is perfect for making skin cleaner, clearer and fresher feeling :)

Everytime I use this as a mask, I also use DHC's acne spot treatment which has the same active ingredient (sulfur). It doesnt help with non-infected whiteheads or small blemishes, but it does help with more inflamed red pimples. Swelling went down overnight, but not sure if its because of this mask or the DHC spot treatment. Price is a steal though!

I use it at night and it helps reduce redness. I plan to start using it every night in hopes of good results. It has always done something every time I have used it.

I have no idea what product the person below me is using, because I hate this stuff. It stinks to high hell, it doesn't 'zap my problem zits' overnight (it made some of them BIGGER and more noticeable. SO not what I needed it to do). Its REALLY hard to wash off without scrubbing my face red, and seems to do absolutely nothing overall as far as improveing my problem

I was so disappointed in this mask. It burned my skin and I had to wash it off after a couple of minutes. Like the reviewer below me, my face was all red and irritated for a few hours, but gradually faded.

For all I know, this mask might work really well, but if you can't keep it on your skin, it can't help much!

LOVE love love this mask. Great for acne prone skin. Sometimes I would only put this on the spot and poof it was almost dried or minimized. Very impressive. The tube is good for applying, the smell not so great but who cares when the results are wicked. I would recommend this for someone who has several breakouts or breakouts in the same area on their face. Put it on once a week and you'll see a great difference. I know I did.
