On my yop lashes, this product doesn't really do anything but it is amazing on my bottom lashes. It is the only mascara I've used on my bottom lashes that I don't mess up with!

Ding, Ding, Ding...ladies we have a winner!
This is my third day using this mascara and I can honestly say I can't find anything negative about it. At first I was a little nervous about the wand and figured I would have to give myself a little time to get acclimated with it, and guess what, I was able to put in on flawlessly the first try. It goes on beautifully. My lashes look long and lush all day. It removes very easily. And it's very affordable ($13.50) at Ulta. It definitely is true to its name.

For a mascara that I initially hated, this product has actually come a long way in my eyes. The first two times I used this, this mascara clumped. Seriously clumped. As in "Yes to Clumps No to Volume." But the longer I used it, the clumps I had at the beginning drastically disappeared. At this point, I'd be surprised if I got two clumps with six comb swipes on each eye. The mascara formula seems to have settled down into a nice, not too wet and not too dry consistency, so if you have problems with this mascara initially... give it some time. Put it aside for a week, then go back to it. I bought this in black at Ulta, but Sephora carries not only the black color (Noir Insoumis 31), but three other colored versions: Brun Partisan 32 (brown), Bleu Engage 33 (blue), and Violet Revolte 34 (purple.)
I think this is an excellent everyday mascara for a nice, defined lash look. I don't think this is going to be enough for a dramatic nighttime eye, but it defines eyelashes much, much better than Maybelline's Define-A-Lash and it clumps less, too. I like that it darkens and slightly thickens my eyelashes, though I would like more volume from a mascara that says "volume" right in the product name. The thin, tapered slick black plastic cap that you grip to put on mascara can be a little tough to hold onto. I find that I actually grip the other end of the cap, the one that screws back onto the mascara tube, and amazingly I haven't had any mascara come off of it onto my fingers.
For those of you unsure about using a comb mascara, you will be able to get used to using it pretty quickly. I find that I do tilt the mascara wand so that the comb is at a slight angle to my eyelashes. I think that method deposits the mascara easily onto my eyelashes. (The product is between the teeth of the comb, and the more swipes you put on your eyelashes, the less product is left between the teeth.) I don't think the comb is long enough (or the teeth close enough together) to truly replace an eyelash comb in my arsenal, but if you don't normally use one of those daily, I suspect you won't feel the need to use one with this mascara. Because of the comb, it might be difficult to cover a white eyelash primer with just a few swipes, so I wouldn't recommend this mascara with a primer if you don't have a lot of time to make sure the primer's covered.
Sephora's description of Yes to Volume, No to Clumps: "The unique comb applicator separates lashes as it delivers lush collagen enhanced mascara to each lash. In addition, the comb applicator busts clumps while creating thick lashes." I do feel that the mascara formula isn't drying at all, and it clumps less than other mascaras I use. In that respect, this mascara is pretty trouble-free and does a great job at defining lashes. One lippie off because it's not incredibly volumizing and the formula can be a little clumpy at the beginning. But a full four lippies and a "yes, I'd repurchase" because this defines my eyelashes very well, doesn't cost an arm and a leg, is pretty easy to use and gives me a natural "my lashes but better" look.

I haven't yet made up my mind on how much I like this mascara. I was debating with myself on whether I sure rate this with a 3 or a 4. For now, I'm giving it a 4.
This mascara took a little getting used to. I had to learn how to apply this without having it goop all over my lashes, making them stick together. My metal lash separator comb came in handy with helping on that problem. This mascara helps my lashes look longer and a little bit plumper. I didn't have any major problems with flaking or clumping. I just don't think this is my HG mascara. There has to be something better out there than this.
I might repurchase this in the future if I want another comb mascara. The packaging is really cute.

Lengthens, thickens, darkens, strengthens, doesn't flake. Its fantaboulous. Pleanty on volume and separation. The only reason I am not HOOKED is that I am a bigger fan of Bad Gal, but I usually use the two of them together for a MAJOR impact.

I really like this stuff and was surprised at how volumizing it is since other "comb" wands I've used never applied a decent amount of mascara. It doesn't clump, and applies quite evenly, also lasts all day/night without smudging and/or flaking. Also I don't have to use an eyelash comb after I apply this stuff. My only issue is that it's really hard to get the corners of my upper lids and all of my lower lashes b/c there isn't a "tip" of the wand that can be used for hard to reach spots. I'm going to purchase the lower lash small wand mascara by Bourjois to make up for that problem. In response to other reviewers, make sure you wipe off excess with a tissue *before* you try and apply, otherwise you will end up with way too much... as is the problem with most mascaras.

I love this mascara. I think the brush is genius. It won't perform miracles, but a few coats are great for an everyday look. It eliminates the need for a comb, which I think is great!

I've only used this one day, but so far it's exactly what I'm looking for. To be honest, I don't see a ton of length but it's wonderful for volume right at the roots of my eyelashes and makes me look like I've tightlined when I have haven't. I love it so far and it's really easy to get a few coats on with out clumps. No flaking or eye irritation so far.

I had been using Bourjois Volume Glamour Mascara and loved it, so when this mascara came out I was eager to try it though I was skeptical of the comb applicator. My sketicism quickly faded as soon as I tried it. It feathers out effortlessly and is a breeze to apply. Like the name implies, it gives great separation (I'm confused by the previous reviewer's experience - I've never had a clump with this!) It also never smudges or flakes and lasts all day. All I generally need is one coat, though you can layer it pretty well. It's also great on the bottom lashes. No downfalls for me - I will continue to buy.

Well it's quite funny that a product that claims in its NAME to not have clumps...is actually the clumpiest mascara I've used in years!! Ok, there's some volume..but not too much. I think there are way better mascara's around, for the same amount of money.

Ok first of all, what is up with all the different mascara choices Bourjois offers? It's a little confusing. I chose this one because it was new and a few dollars less than some of the others. I also liked that the package wasn't as bulky as some of their other mascaras. This is the first comb type mascara I've owned. The application takes longer than the brush type but I can see how it would help you avoid clumps. I'm not sure I'm convinced though. For the money, it's a good product but nothing life changing.

I'm very cautious about mascara because I've done Lasik eye surgery and I don't like fiddling around too much with my eye area. So, finding a good mascara is definitely high on the priority list! After reading the terrible reviews Bourjois Maxi Frange had gotten on MUA, I was a little apprehensive about trying Yes to Volume No To Clumps (especially since it was a tad pricier than say L'oreal Voluminous), but I must say it was $20 well spent! I LOVE the comb applicator, which just combs out any clumps and delivers the perfect amount of mascara onto my lashes! It's also small enough to get at the lashes on my lower lid without me poking it into my eye, which happens sometimes when I'm in a hurry and using a traditional mascara wand.
The mascara formula is also perfect! Easy to take off with gentle eye makeup remover, but doesn't flake or smudge all day, even when I put it on in the morning and get home at 4AM!
As for the effect, it definitely lengthens my lashes a lot, but I wouldn't say it gives *that* much volume. It also doesn't thicken the lashes much, hence only 4 lippies. I'd say it does a fantastic job at lengthening without clumps - a quick curl and coat of this mascara would be perfect as a natural day look which lasts as long as you do. My go-to mascara for day! Still searching for false lashes in a tube though :)

I love this on my lower lashes! It defines them just enough without it looking like I overdid the eyeliner. It doesnt clump and it dries fast enough so it doesnt stick to my top lashes. I took off one lippie because its not very good at holding a curl for the top lashes and it works better as a 2nd coat on top of another mascara. Would I buy it again? Already did!

*****EDIT!!!***** IT WORKS NOW! After I do my lenghtening mascara it REALLY helps with volume to wiggle this into the roots and up. And the comb works fantastically on bottom lashes. Just thought I'd let ya all know and bring its rating up a bit!!! ******
Unfortunately this just did not work for me. I can't work with the comb type wands in mascara-they give me NO length, NO volume, and LOTS of clumps. The only thing they are good for is, after i've finished defining and lengthening my lashes with my normal HG mascaras, adding a final clump of definition, but it's definitely not necessary. I hate this. Good thing I swapped for it and not bought it! Cute bottle though!

I got this yesterday and I must say that I am pretty pleased with it. It doesn't give as much volume as my Voluminous Carbon black, but it comes pretty close. PLUS, this one does not clumpt at all compared to Voluminous. I love how this super defines and thickens my lashes. I don't think it is possible to thicken very much because of the design of the comb since it is so fine and scrapes away all excess mascara. This design allows me to reach for my roots and it does take some practice to get the comb all the way up to my tips. I must carefully "blink" into the comb to get to the tips of my lashes.
This works beautifully w/ my Shiseido mascara base , but so does every other mascara I own. I never have to worry about lashes being weighed down as long as I wear my Shiseido base after curling lashes.

I think I'll try another mascara. Am I just not applying it correctly? I always end up with a few clumps. It doesn't do anything dramatic for my eyes, just makes them look darker. It's also sticky and becomes VERY clumpy when I try to apply a second coat so I usually just stick with one coat. It's ok and I'll continue to use it since I already bought it.
EDIT
I'm not sure what I'm doing differently, but it clumps a lot less now. Doesn't make my lashes look too much longer, just darker and more noticeable. But it doesn't seem to run at all, although I haven't tried it with heavy heat/activity, just everyday stuff.

Just got this for 15.00 at Ulta.I like that it is sealed in shrink wrap so you know it is sterile. This is now in my top 3 favorite mascaras, along with Lancome Hypnose, and Benefit Bad Gal. Gives the lashes a nice lush glossy look.
Does not crumble all over and flake off..gahh.
The brush is unique and just requires a little patience and practice until you get the hang of it. Applies nicely, and the packaging is very adorable
and you seem to get a lot for your $. I will repurchase. :)

The actual product itself is very good, i.e. it's a beautiful glossy black colour and it does not smudge or clump plus it leaves my lashes soft. The comb seems to help coat one's lashes well but I find it a little too long to manoeuvre when I try to reach my extreme outer lashes. Also I don't like the shape of the handle, I find it hard to hold comfortably without dropping it. Nevertheless I like the result very much, overall a very good mascara. UPDATE: unfortunately, this got too thick much sooner than the 3 months I keep mascaras for and it clumpled badly all along the comb teeth. After trying to extract the surplus with a needle (!) and had no appreciable result, I tossed it in the rubbish bin...
