This product stinks! The hype is stupid, it doesn't work and they want you to use 1/2 each time you shampoo, don't buy into the hype!

I loved it at first it definately made my hair a lot softer and healthier looking but it seemed like the more I used it the less it worked. I could not stand the smell of the fig though. I'd buy it again but maybe in a different type other than the fig.

I, like so many ladies, couldn't wait to receive the Wen hair care system. It arrived, and I wanted to love, love, love it. I decided to wash my hair right away, I was mortified when my hair began falling out in LARGE amounts! The minute the product met my hair, without using a comb, hair was everywhere! I decided to give it a second, and third chance, but the result was the same. I called and explained my dilemma, and was offered a free bottle of the cucumber/aloe. Sadly, it too causes my hair to fall out, not as much, but enough to keep me from using it. I would like to know if anyone else has had this experience.

i was skeptical of this product at first because i had never had any luck with shampoo/conditioner products but i gave in to the QVC sales pitch and i've never been sorry!! i bought the kit which contained several of the fragrances but the one i have settled on is fig. i have curly, thick, color-treated hair which, at the time i first purchased fig, was also chemically-straightened. as an aside, i have done virtually everything to my hair and it has escaped virtually unscathed so i'm very lucky in that respect. at the time, i had been using Ojon products for about a year and was curious to try a one-step product. i was not disappointed.

i go to the hairdresser 1 or 2x per week for blow-outs and get trimmed and colored every 4 weeks. i started taking the fig with me to the hairdresser who has been doing my hair for over 20 years. as a professional and a cosmetology instructor, she was not too keen on a 1-step product, however, now she is sold and has begun using it herself even though she has a totally different style and texture of hair-it works for her too.

my hair is healthy, shiny and the color holds beautifully between touch-ups. my scalp is healthy even though i used to have a few flakes and irritation due to the frequent color touchups-not any more! i no longer have chemically straightened hair but it is flat-ironed regularly, but still no damage, no split ends, no dullness, no breakage, very few lost hairs in the drain!

can't say enough positive things about these products-the only drawback is the price but it does last a long while and you are only purchasing one product instead of 2 or 3 so that is a definite plus!

I could not wait to get this product in the mail. I sooo wanted to love it...well..I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it either. The first day I used it, I was impressed. My hair felt smooth and moisturized and the smell wasn't bad either. However, as each day ticked by, I liked it less and less. My hair started feeling dry, thin and overall..yucky. I used it for about a week, threw it in the trash and went back to Purelogy.

I didn't care for this line at all - hair never really felt very clean. It also took several weeks to get! The problem is, when I returned it, I am still waiting for my refund and it has been over a month! I called customer service (after being on hold for 10 minutes) and they told me refunds can take 3-4 weeks!! It has already been a month and and the refund process has not been done yet. I have a real problem when a company can get that charge onto to your credit card with no problem but when you send it back they drag their feet on "processing". If they do this with enough customers they are making interest on that money while they drag their feet. I will never order from them again (or Gunther Rinkey for that matter since they are the parent company).

**Nothing but praise**

This product is wonderful. Keeps my haircolor fresh, my hair smells great, my hair is soft and shiny!!!!! Love it. Very innovative product, don't need a seperate conditioner, it does it all. Not to mention it doesn't contain laurel sulfates, which strips, damages, and has been linked to cause cancer - most shampoo's contain this chemical.

I have been wanting to try this for such a long time! I finally just went for it and the only regret I have is waiting so long...I have just used the Wen Fig CC one time, and my hair already feels different for the better. I can't stop swinging it around like they do in shampoo commercials!! My hair is thick, wavy/curly, frizzy, has a mind of its own! I am telling you, now it is like I have never had any frizzies in my hair, ever! The downsides are the price (!), and the fig smells not so good in my opinion. I do miss the yummy fruity smell my old shampoos had, but I don't miss the drying sulfates. Washing hair with something that does not lather takes some getting adjusted to as well. Will update after I have used a while! *******UPDATE*********nevermind! this stuff is awful!! sorry it just plain sucks...my hair was so greasy and never felt clean after a using for a while!!!!

WOW this review was hard to find, so I sent a note to admin to get it moved to WEN by CHAZ DEAN instead of "unlisted product" --- OK, that being said, I LOVE THIS STUFF. I didn't want to like it. I was just "trying it" when I bought it... kind of a "what the heck, let's give it a try." I have thin, normal, nautrally curly hair, and a LOT of it. Not tight kinky curl, but more of a Sarah Jessica Sex and the City curl. Frizz has always been an issue, but I used to use so much gel to keep that under control that my hair was crunchy. Gross. Also, the shampoos I used (and I rotated them) were the highly-foaming, "normal" kind of shampoos. WELL, after using this product, my hair dosen't feel dried out and miserable anymore, and the frizz is definately better controlled. I use WEN to wash my hair, and I like the FIG the best. Then I use Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine leave in conditioner at the end of the shower. I use about 6 things to style my hair, too, but we won't go into all that. Just telling you this WEN cleanser leaves your hair soft, feeling healthy, your scalp feeling happy. The tea tree takes 2 showers to get used to, but I actually look forward to it now. I find it relaxing. ALSO this stuff makes AWESOME shave gel, but use just a tiny amount. The only cons: it's expensive (but most really good and innovative products are), and THE PUMP SUCKS. The last 1/2 inch of the bottle, you will have to unscrew the pump and pound it out into your palm. Totally redic, but I'm willing to do it because I love the product. If you're into the "soap free" products, I also suggest the Bare Escentuals new cleanser. LOVE IT and it's also soap free, sulfate free. The sulfates are so hard on your skin, but until you stop using them, you don't realize. :)

I have tried all 5 of the Wen Cleansers. I have to say that Fig is the best one for my hair type. Fig made it soft, and full of body. The others leave my hair soft but a little flat. I have highlighted hair and I usually have tangles even using conditoner but with Wen I never lost any hair and my hair was completely tangle free. I wish it didn't cost as much or you got more for your money, but in the long run this will save me money on getting my highlights redone.

Update: My hair felt like it needed regular shampoo because I guess I am just not used to the conditioning cleanser. I used my regular Pantene for Smooth Hair and lost a bunch of hair and had tangles like before. Today I went back to the Wen. When I use Wen my hair has no tangles and I might have 2 or 3 hairs fall out during picking it out.
I love Wen.

The most important step when using WEN is to rinse, rinse before cleansing and rinse rinse rinse after cleansing and then when you think you've rinsed more than enough, rinse some more (on average, I would say I rinse for about two minutes, I sometimes count). I now have excellent results with all formulas of WEN...when I first started using this line though, my hair was super soft yet super flat...once I fine-tuned the amount I needed along and rinsed like a maniac, my hair is the best it's ever been. RINSE!!! I cannot say it enough. My hair is fine texture but I have a lot of it--it's highlighted every 9 weeks...I tend to get oily around the hairline...my ends can get frizzy because of the processing. I rinse for at least a minute before applying WEN (especially if using styling products). I have found using FIG on the length (10 pumps) and any one of the other varieties on the scalp and sides (15-20 pumps of either Sweet Almond Mint, Cucumber Aloe, Tea Tree or Lavender) works best for me--FIG is a bit too heavy for the top and sides--I like to leave one pump of the SAM in after cleansing, a leave-in conditioner if you will. Originally I was washing every third day, with the third day not looking so hot because of the oil build-up around the hairline--my new trick, which is basically cleansing my hairline with Philosophy's Purity Made Simple at the same time I'm washing my face, has allowed me to go 4-5 days in between cleansings. With that said, I do still rinse rinse rinse every day even though I'm not cleansing. This system is very cost-effective for me so I rated price as three lippies--you can't beat washing only once or twice a week! I love the scent of all five varieties, I also love the tingly sensation. I do not like the pump dispenser though--once you get to the last third of the bottle, the pump no longer dispenses properly so it's guesswork to me as to how much I'm dumping out into my palm--two lippies for packaging--the bottles ARE pretty. I order from QVC because they usually have good deals on kits. I love to watch Chaz present his products on the Q as well--it's very calming and soothing to listen to him :) I'm a fan for life--been using since September '07. I tossed my el cheapo hair cleansers and gave DH my old beloved Fekkai. PS--I forgot to say that since using WEN, my highlights no longer look dull after a couple of weeks--they stay bright and shiny...

i like this cleansing conditioner! i have to agree with the other reviewer who said it smells like cough syrup a little, but it does fade. in a way, it kind of wakes me up in the shower because it clears my nose. i have oily hair and i find this controls the oil better than using shampoo and conditioner. i wash my hair every other day and see a difference if i don't use this. i put this in my hair (following the directions on the bottle) when i first get in the shower and just massage into my scalp. i then pin my hair up and continue with the rest of my shower and rinse this out at the end and my hair feels so soft and silky. it is a little expensive, but then again you dont have to buy shampoo and conditioner is you use this product. i have only tired the fig so far, but plan trying some other scents in the future.

I bought the 3 bottle sample package from QVC that gave mini bottles of each scent to determine which one would work form my hair. I liked the results from the cleansing and conditioning part for a short time...but I felt it was too over priced. I thought it did a nice job when I used it and then used a blow dryer on my hair...the silicones protected my hair from damage and added some shine. I never used as much as was listed for my hair length (some 15-20 pumps) It was way more than I needed and the excess tended to weigh my hair down. I found if I used about 5 pumps it still did what it claimed and cleaned my hair and conditioned it. But then I discovered that DS thin and cheap conditioners work better and have been stuck using them and CO washing ever since. So I thank Chaz Dean for turning me toward CO washing and my hair has significantly improved because of it!

I asked my mother for this as a Christmas gift and let me tell you this is one of the best Christmas gifts I have ever received! I was able to find a pacakge deal that had all five of the Chaz Dean cleansing conditioners in it so that I could try all of them. One of my favorites is the Fig cleansing conditioner. When you first put this on in the shower it has a very strong scent. In its concentrated form this product smells a bit like cough syrup. Not to worry after you have washed all of the product out of your hair and even if you leave in a tiny bit as a leave in conditioner once your hair drys the smell dissipates and your hair smells more like cherries. This particular conditioner is very very very moisturiszing. It is great for someone that has color treated their hair, permed it, etc.. Essentially, if you are the type of person who has hair that is in serious need of repair than this is the conditioner for you. I have very fine hair that easily knots. In addition I do not get my hair cut as often as I should get it cut and I am guilty of not only highlighting my hair, but I also blowdry it and straighten it, more or less if my hair had a personality it would hate me with a purple passion. With this product my hair looks extremely healthy. It comes out shiny in a good way, not a greasy dirty way. It refuses to knot, it is soft and it feels thicker. I will say that you have to follow the directions that come with the product if you want to get great results. Just so that you get an idea of what you're in for let me give you a summary/some tips of my own. When you get in the shower soak your entire head. My hair is down to the middle of my back, but since it's thin I do not use as much of the product as required by the directions and I still get fabulous results. Once your head is soaked squirt about three pumps of the product into your hand, rub your hands together and massage it into your scalp. I start with the front and side of my head, I get more product (the same amount as I started with) move to the back of my head and the sides of my head that I missed, then I get some more product (once again the same as I started with) and massage that into the top of my head and throughout the length of my hair. After I have done this I massage my entire scalp with my fingertips for a few minutes. This product has a very cooling and tingling effect on your head, it is not a very strong sensation, but it is very enjoyable. In addition, your whole head should feel like you have a very thick conditioning treatment in, very smooth and silky. If for some reason you feel your hair snagging in your fingers or you feel any dry spots around your head get a single pump of product and rub it into those areas. You may need more than a single pump, I just like to start out with less because the product is so expensive, therefore I don't want to waste any of it. Once you have massaged the product into your hair really well take a shower comb and gently run it through your hair. I like to start at the bottom of my hair and work my way up just in case there are any knots, but from my experience I have not gotten any knots when trying to comb my hair after applying this product, I guess I'm just overly cautious. Once you have combed your hair either clip it up or put it in a shower cap for the remainder of your shower. When you are done with your shower rinse your hair. Before I rinse my hair I like to massage my head one last time. While rinsing your hair you will notice that it will be really silky, I know that your hair feels really good at that silky stage but whatever you do DO NOT stop rinising because the product is still in your hair. When all of the product is out of your hair it should feel clean, thicker and in between dry and very silky smooth. While your hair is still soaking wet put a little product in your hands, rub them together and work it into your hair starting at the bottom and working your way up to the top. This step is not necessary it is only an option. Once I have put the leave in conditioner into my hair I quickly massage it all over my head, comb it through my hair and either clip it up or wrap it up in a towel. This is what works for me, maybe it works differently for you, I can only say if you tried this product and did not get the results you were looking for in the past do not give up on it.

I gave it two lippies for it's conditioning properties.... but will be sending it back because I was really looking forward to the so called "cleansing" part!! I have long, thick, naturally curly hair and when I say "thick" I mean thick per strand and a lot of it! I was shocked to see how much this weighed my hair down. After reading that the people who don't like it probably aren't using enough, I added another 10 or so pumps to the 35 I was already using. It felt good for about an hour, but then turned into a weighed down mop. Super soft, but limp and it made my curls hang as if gravity on Earth had quadrupled! I don't color my hair or straighten it frequently, so it's pretty healthy. Maybe this would be better for those in need of serious moisture?

I used it for 2 weeks and finally could not take it any longer. I went back to my tried and true HG, Nexxus Retexxtur Curl Vitalizing Shampoo. I tried not only the fig, but the cucumber aloe, lavender, almond mint, and tea tree in a sampler pack from QVC. As far as the scents go, lavender was my fave. I liked how you could combine scents to give more variety. On a positive note, I'm glad I didn't like it, as much as I was using I would have spent a fortune on it.

i only use this pruduct when I need to deep condition. My hair is blonde with lowlights and highlights and it strips the color very quickly.Chaz claims that it maintains the color but this is not true in my case.It works for me as a deep conditiong treatment only because the more I used it my hair became progressively dryer and very much lighter .It must build up in the hair over time and you just need to get a good shampoo to get it out.I would not buy it again just to use it occasionally. Also, the pump sucks as it becomes useless when you get about 1/4 from the base of the bottle.Oh, and it is way overpriced!!!

I have repurchased this product 3 times! It's pricey, but worth it, especially if your hair is colored or you are a regular user of curling/straight irons. Very different feeling when using this product--no sudsing so you have to adjust to that feeling. Excellent if you have dry, itchy or flakey scalp. Pricey but there's no need for a condtioner--it does it all in one step. I even use a little bit as a styling product. You hair comes out so unbelievably soft and shiny--especially if your hair is fried from overprocessing. Worth a try!

I just started CO washing with Wen - I'm REALLY loving the results I'm getting - my hair has never felt so good before. However, I absolutely hate the Fig fragrance that lingers real long with this one. Luckily I ordered 6 oz of the fig and 16 oz of the Lavender. I'm highly sensitive and picky about fragrances unfortunately so I'm just gonna stick to the Lavender.

EDIT : I've stopped CO washing because strangely, my hair feels better, especially in the shower when I'm CO washing, but LOOKS dryer and worse than with my normal sulfate-free s/c routine. After 1-2 weeks of CO washing my hair looked absolutely parched. Weird.

i like this, i do. it gives my hair (thick and wavy, but the individual hairs are fine in texture) alot of shine, bounce, and makes it VERY silky. it definitely does get it clean, which i was very worried about, and i really enjoy the whole process of using it (especially the minty tingle that it gives your scalp while you leave it on during your shower! it's heavenly!). it does work well for a leave-in/styling creme too! now onto the negatives: i find that if you have hair longer than your shoulders this is ridiculously expensive and will be used up way too quickly for the price. i just cut my hair to about an inch under my chin and now i can see myself getting enough use out of it for it's cost, but before when my hair was more than halfway down my back it would have been ridiculously expensive to keep up with. secondly, since i have hair that is on the dry side and i blowdry and flatiron it, i only wash it about 2-3 times a week and it's never greasy until the night it's time for it to be washed. however, when using Wen i find that my hair gets greasier and limper much more quickly. if you're a person who washes their hair everyday i'm sure this wouldn't be a problem for you. so i probably would repurchase this, but wouldn't use it every time i wash, either. definitely a YMMV product! **EDIT** ok, i admit it, Chaz Dean is right and i am officially converted! i am now using this every time i shampoo, and i couldn't be happier. no matter how greasy my hair is, this gets it squeaky clean and keeps it super soft and healthy and moisturized. recently i had a bad cold/sinus infection and didn't wash my hair for almost a week (GASP!!!) because i was just too cold when i was in the shower to spend any extra time in there. after that, i was sure that Wen wouldn't be able to get my hair clean enough, but it did! i've started only using this as my shampoo and conditioner (and not as my leave-in/styling product) to make it last longer, and i've been using my usual hair products instead and it's all working out beautifully. now that i'm doing that i'm not experiencing the limpness that i was before (maybe it's a big too moisturizing as a leave in for my virgin hair?) if i can afford it, i'm never going back to regular shampoo! bumping my rating up to 5 lippies.

Ths makes my hair really soft and bouncy. (My hair is thick and wavy--bu not coarse. It tends to get weighed down easily, too.) Doesn't weigh down my hair either and is very moisturizing. The smell is quite strong but fresh. It's expensive but of high qualit. I gave the packaging a 3 because it's hard to get to the bottom of the bottle with the pump.
