Wonderful foundation. Full to medium coverage. More like a matte finish. Very smooth finish. Great for pictures. Used this foundation for pictures when I had my baby and looked flawless. Just make sure you get the right color for your skin type. Have not really had a problem with break outs. apply with foundation stippling brush or sponge.

i was SO excited to try this foundation but i was kind of disappointed. I always hear people rave about what a full coverage foundation it is but honestly, i did nto really see any extraordinary coverage. don't get me wrong it is a really nice foundation and applies very smoothly, but if you are looking for ultimate maximum coverage (which i was expecting from this product) i would recommend the estee lauder double wear maximum cover.

This is a great foundaion if you need full coverage. you dont need alot of product to cover your whole face. it hid alot of my redness. I switched over to the tinted moisturizer as i found that i didnt need full coverage and you could really tell that it covered up alot of my natural skin. Im thinking this would be great if your planning on being on camera.

This is my Holy Grail foundation. I feel like foundation is a difficult thing to review, simply because everyone has such different skin. The only downside is the price.

I have acne prone skin and a lot of scarring from previous acne. My skin tone is very pale and it has always been tough finding the perfect foundation. I always steered away from them because it didn't look natural.
My god, I love Laura Mercier products! This is my HG foundation. I wear this everyday and it makes my skin look absolutely flawless. It covers up hyperpigmentation and gives a natural finish. Best of all, it doesn't break me out.

I have been using this foundation for 4 years now after I tried it out in selfridges. It matches my colour very well and gives great coverage. It stays on well all day with no need for a top up. I have tried numerous other foundations but they either did not give coverage, looked caked after about an hour of wear, patchy etc (such as Mac, Bobby Brown, Loreal etc) I apply it with a premium make up sponge that you can buy from Laura Mercier or a cheap alternative which I find just as good is the boots own brand premium sponge for about £3 as it tends to blend very well. I always try out a different brand as am always curious but I found it very hard to match this foundation.

I think this might be my holy grail foundation, believe everyone when they say you need the smallest amount of this, SMALLER than a pea.
When I first tried this the sales assistant caked this on me at the counter using a sponge, I do not recommend this at all for this foundation. I use a real techniques buffing brush which gives me a fuller coverage, if I need less of a coverage I will use a beauty blender and it works wonderfully.
Some people compare the finish of this to NARS Sheer Glow, I have to disagree, Sheer Glow looks like and oily mess on me within a few hours, even the initial application doesn't seem that similar to me. Silk Creme lasts all day without oxidising, I have it in Rose Ivory and think this is one of the few products worth paying $57 AUD for, although for any aussies you can get it off kissandmakeup.com for less with express shipping :)

VERY good coverage! Amazing and at the same time natural-looking and not cakey! Lasts well through out the day not as well as double wear, revlon colorstay. This would be good for normal/dry skin because it has got some moisturising proporties but even on combo skin it would not be bad. It is not transfer-proof or transfer resistant as some claim which is a bit of pain. BUT this does break me out! It contains ethylhexyl palmitate which is a highly comedogenic ingredients in the first 5 ingredients! Why do cosmetic and skincare companies do this?

Fantastic product! Highly highly pigmented so you need only a pea size or so to cover the face. I concentrate it a bit more around my acne spots and it covers it up like magic. It gives you a very beautiful glow. It lasts all day for me when i apply a bit of powder on top of it.

This was a great find. I was struggling with finding the right foundation for me because everything I was trying was breaking me out. It turned out that I had a sensitivity to Titanium Dioxide as an active ingredient in foundations. Unfortunately, many foundations contain this ingredient for its effect on pigmentation and for its sunscreen property.
This foundation does not have Titanium Dioxide as an active ingredient and while there is no SPF (which may be an issue with some people) it is great for really sensitive skin. There is no smell, the packaging is really travel friendly and sleek, a little goes a long way so it'll last FOREVER and the color match for my yellow based skin tone is wonderful. I wear Medium Ivory and am an NC25 in Mac products. It glides smoothly and it is very moisturizing. I don't know if I will continue to use it in the summer. I was afriad it was going to be too matte but it is a nice satin finish on me.
There is a learning curve with the foundation which is why I give it only a 4. I like to use my hands to warm it up. Another problem I forsee is finding a good color match. From what I've seen, the colors are very yellow based.

My shade is Hazelnut Beige and at first I was afraid that it may be too light for me but when I put the TINIEST smaller-than-a-pea size amount on half of my face (thanks to the reviews here on MUA) it was absolutely perfect. At the moment I don't have any acne but I do have redness around the middle of my face and some spots on my forehead and cheeks. After that small amount my skin looked absolutely flawless and I have never experienced this with any other foundation before without looking cakey. It's a dewy finish and extremely lightweight! Lasted well throughout the day but when worn til evening it does fade a bit. But this is a really good purchase and worth every centavo.

Still loving this foundation. For dry skin this is my HG. It just looks so pretty on the skin. I get so many compliments. I use a dampened beauty blender and stipple it on and it is just flawless. I also put some Laura Mercier powder (puff) over it to set it lightly. It last for me all day... I do not know what it is about the Mercier products but they leave such a pretty finish on the skin. I have very clear smooth skin so I don't need alot of concealing, but, regardless, this looks so amazing on and you can make it look natural or adjust coverage depending on how you apply it. This product will probably always be one of my go to's from now until I croak. :D

I haven't written a review in a very long time...this foundation is nice overall. The first time I tried it, I was matched to Rose Ivory (my palest state) and could wear Medium Ivory with soft self tanning. This is definitely full coverage, actually I prefer to mix it with moisturizer to sheer it out. I also found that this settles into every line no matter how small on my face and I don't really have any. It accentuates the fine ones I do have. The moisturizer mixture also helps with this SOME...I wound up returning and purchasing an old favorite. I'm sure for some it's great, but for me it's a miss.

I bought this foundation based on all of the hype on review sites and YouTube videos, because I've heard so much about it.
This foundation claims to provide 15 hours of natural-looking full coverage wear. It comes in a nice, easy squeezable tube with a twist cap and the product is thick and creamy. I find it applies best with a flat-topped buffing brush. I wear the lightest shade, Soft Ivory.
In terms of the initial look after application, it looks more like well-moisturised and slightly tinted skin and provides a very natural appearance. It doesn't have much of a smell and it goes on and blends very easily. Even though the formula is very rich, it hasn't broken me out and actually seems to keep my skin feeling hydrated despite working in an air-conditioned environment for 45 hours a week. Looking at the ingredients, it contains tonnes of emollients which explains why it makes my skin feel so soft.
My skin is pretty normal but can get oily right down the middle from forehead to nose to chin. I do find that after about 6 hours it seems to change in texture even if set with powder and blotted on my lunch break, and by the time I leave work it looks cakey and uneven. I was very disappointed about this because it cost so much! (I paid £33 in Space.NK.) I checked the compatibility of its ingredients with my facial moisturiser and they are both water-based, so there shouldn't be any issues there.
I really wanted this foundation to live up to its reviews because Laura Mercier's brand is the only one I've come across that actually states outright that not only are the finished products cruelty-free, but even the ingredients as well. I will wear this on days where I have time to touch up, or on days where I won't need to look good for too long. Overall I'm pretty disappointed with this one. I'll use it up but I won't repurchase.

I always get sucked into YouTube hyped products and this was one of them. I rarely wear foundation, but when I did it was DiorNude, and going from that to this is like night to day. This is quite full coverage, which I don't really need as I take good care of my skin and rarely get blemishes, but this foundation... amazing. The way it makes my skin look is unlike any other. I use a flat top buffing brush and the tiniest amount and it makes my skin look flawless. Whenever I go into Sephora I get at least 1 SA asking me what foundation I'm wearing! It is truly a chamelion foundation and the Cashew Beige blends perfectly into my olive toned somewhat tanned skin. I set this with MUF HD powder and it lasts all day for me, not sure what powders everyone else is using. I don't even need a primer with this, I can go to school, work, and go for dinner after work and only need a little powder on my oily t zone. So happy with this product!

I really, really like this foundation, but it has a learning curve. You have to play with it, applying it different ways before you find which one works best. If you find this looks cakey after wearing it for a couple hours, you've applied too much (no matter how small of an amount you think you've applied...a small amount in most other foundations is too much for this one). This foundation is like the poster product for a TINY bit goes a long way. The amount that I use for my whole face probably equals out to less than 3/4 of a pump of other foundations. I put one tiny dot on each cheek, one on my nose, one on my chin, and one on my forehead and then I really buff it in well with my Real Techniques buffing brush (this one does not work well with a beauty blender or you fingers. Your fingers apply way too much product and the water in the beauty blender seems to make the foundation go wonky). This itty bitty amount gives me excellent coverage with a satiny finish. I set with a very thin dusting of pure cornstarch (best setting powder I've ever used, btw) and it lasts me all day. I've even gone to the gym wearing this foundation and it still looked good after! And yes, it does have a strong smell. I've narrowed it down to a mix of baker's chocolate and nail polish. But the smell goes away as soon as you apply it.
Bottom line: Use a VERY, VERY small amount, buff it in really well, lightly set with loose powder, and it smells when you first squeeze it out but it goes away. Good stuff :)

Firstly I love LM products, but this for me was a big NO. Luckily I managed to get a sample and not waste all my money, which I have done before !
The packaging is fab, one plus ! I have normal skin, which I really take care of but this seemed to provide a matt finish and didn't give thay dewy look that I like. I wasn't keen on the colour choices either, one seemed to dark and the other too light and it felt mask like even though I applied the tiniest amount.

I got sucked into the 'youtube hype' for this product. And I hate it so much. Out of all of the makeup products I have ever bought (and I buy a lot, I have a little problem) this probably is one of, if not the worst product I have bought. I had such high hopes for this stuff!
PROS:
*Looks amazing when first applied!
*Coverage is medium-full, so it covers pretty much everything
*Comes in a wide range of colours (the lightest of which would suit an NC 10-15 in MAC)
*Squeezy tube is sanitary and lets you control how much product comes out
CONS:
*Within 30 minutes of applying this product (mind you, I wasn't doing anything straneous of physical during those 30 minutes) my skin looked;
-Cakey! Omg, I've never seen anything this cakey in my life! I applied it with my fingers and then blended it out with a damp beauty blender (which never makes any other foundation look cakey) This looked horrid! Like I've been exercising for 2 hours straight! Disgusting!
-Patchy. It started coming off in some sections of my face. I could see all of my cheek redness after only 30 minutes. Looked similar to how a very cheap foundation looks after you sweat in it a lot
-Dry. This foundation is supposed to be "hydrating", as it says on the back! Oh no! It cracked and accentuated dry patches on my skin like no other!
-Set into my fine lines. Keep in mind, I'm 19, so I don't have wrinkles. But this managed to find every fine line (smile lines, crows feat, tiny forehead lines) on my face and accentuate them. Definitely don't recommend to to anyone with aging skin.
-Sinked into my pores. Just looked gross in general.
*Has a VERY strong scent! Smells like a mixture between something sweet and nail polish! If your skin is sensitive to scented products, STAY CLEAR OF THIS!
*The colour was too light for me, which is not the foundation's fault, but I thought I would mention it anyway. I got the lightest shade, which would suit around NC 10-15 by MAC (I'm NC 15-20)
*Was expensive. I paid around $45 for this (although I think its a few $ less on the LM site). I bought it off ebay cause we don't have LM in Australia, so I can't return it.
*No matter how I tried to work with this (with primer, without primer, different moisturisers, different methods of application, powder and no powder), nothing worked. Still looked horrible and cakey withing the hour! Rediculous!
I don't understand how anyone can love this! And I had perfect skin for this (dry-its supposed to be hydrating, I need full coverage with long lasting, I don't have heavy wrinkles of acne), but yet it still looked horrid
Maybe I'm using it wrong (although I have tried EVERY way to make it work). I would love to know how to make this stuff work, as I can't return it, but I just don't know how!
Will never repurchase, most disappointing makeup product ever! Really sad about it

Love this foundation! This is a thick, cream foundation that gives medium to full coverage. It has a matte satin finish that lasts all day when set with powder. I apply this with a cosmetic sponge lightly dampened with MAC Fix+ or Julie Hewett rosewater. It blends quite easily and gives a nice finish. A little bit is all you need, so the tube will last a while. I have this in soft ivory, and I'm an NW15 in MAC and W1 in L'Oreal True Match. Overall I do really like this foundation and would definitely repurchase.

Edit #2: I gave up. I couldn't find a way to make this work. It would fade and get cakey and separate on me worse than any other. Didn't matter what primer or powder I used.
A lot has already been said about this foundation, but I just want to add that the lightest color in this line is NOT creme ivory, it's soft ivory. I bought creme ivory first, and couldn't believe how orange it was for something with 'ivory' in the name. I'm not sure what skin tone it would work for, maybe NC20? But for those of us lighter than NC/NW 15, it's definitely too dark. I also tried Rose ivory but wasn't a good color match either, it might work for NC 20 or NC 15 maybe, not really sure. Soft ivory, on the other hand, is a really good match for my NW10-ish skin. (*EDIT: I swatched all 3 and uploaded the pic- check it out to see them next to each other) When I first put it on it has great medium coverage and a really pretty natural and satin finish. I took one lippy off because of the staying power - the redness on my cheeks is visible again within a few short hours, and it can start to look a bit cakey too. Overall though it's a decent foundation for us PPPs to consider. I feel the same about this foundation as i do about Lorac's NP1- I finally found foundation that isn't too orange/yellow/pink, and that looks fairly natural, so I will keep experimenting with different primers and powders to see if I can get it to last better.
