Wanted to love this since I love most everything Nars, but this stuff is just gross. I have oily skin, but most sunscreens don't bother me, and most primers are just slick but not greasy. This went on absolutely greasy. No amount of blotting or powdering could take the mirror shine off my face. Yes, this stuff actually made my face shinier. Guess I will stick to my combo of Clinique's T-Zone Shine Control (for oilier days/skins) or Instant Perfector (for more normal days/skins) and Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral SPF powder. I only give this two lippies because it did no harm (e.g., breakouts) once washed off.

Weird, I have noticed absolutely no difference in my foundation application or longevity after using this product. I received this is a sample from Sephora and had eagerly anticipated good results simply due to it being made by Nars. I was unfortunately less than impressed by what it did (or actually didn't) do for me. Oh well at least I didn't pay for it.

First of all, I've just about had it with primers... I tried the Urban Decay pore perfecting, Makeup forever HD primer, Smashbox, etc, etc. All of these were either breaking me out, making me oily, or just a meh product. I hit 100 points in Sephora so I decided to try my last and final primer since I'm so sick of them.
I have combination-oily skin and after reading all these reviews, I thought that it was going to make me an oily mess. But, amazingly, this doesn't leave me oily! In fact, I like how smooth it makes my makeup. When I forget to put this on... it makes my makeup look worse.
I love this and I'm so glad I was willing to try another primer. Will buy full size when my huge delux sample runs out which will be who knows when.

I think this is a total waste of money. I have a generic $1 moisturizer that is very thin and runny that I use to moisturize my face before I apply my makeup, and I noticed, they are like the exact same thing. There is no scent, no distinct consistency that sets this apart from any other primer, it doesn't control oil.. its completely useless. Its an overpriced moisturizer.

I have sampled other facial primers in the past - mostly smashbox photo finish but it was just too thick and clumped up. Nars primer has a very watery and liquid-type application, which worried me at first - but it helps it just glide on and my skin is ultra smooth after putting this on and keeps my makeup right in place. The scent is yummy too. I find the bottle will last me ages before it runs out so I don't mind the thirty-something dollar price tag. Thanks Sephora, for giving these out as samples - I'm sold!

Oily. Greasy. Not great for my oily/combination skin. Didn't really see an improvement in the way that my foundation wears. Mayeb OK for dry skin...but will not be purchasing! I think I'll stick with my Smashbox.

It makes my skin really oily, not when first applied but later in the day.

i had to returned it.

I received a sample from Sephora. Not pleased. It really does not match up with the other primers in its price range...it was OK at the beginning of the day, but by the end I felt a bit oily. I blotted my t-zone a bit and my makeup just seemed to come off. blah. I actually have the monistat gel that everyone raves about but I am just so afraid to use it - monistat -!! But from the comments that even seems to be better than this product.

In general this is great primer. It is probably not the best out there as it doesnt really fill in pores or lines but it is the best if most or other primers cause you to breakout. It's great under makeup because it moisturizes and takes care of flakes but absorbs quickly so you don't have a wet base for powders. It will smooth your skin as good as a heavy moisturizer will without the shiny. greasy slow absorbtion. It aslo takes care of facial redness it really calms it down and without any green tint. There is a notacable difference when i use this it's not so much that it makes my makeup last all day but it makes it look right from the start and at the end of the day theres less flaking and makeup has faded gradually as a whole as appposed to dry or greasy patches.

I received this as a Sephora beauty insider sample and I'm just not that into it. It left me oily and just seemed meh. I haven't used any other NARS products, but I've used other face primers and this doesn't hold a candle to Tarte or Smashbox.

The fact i am so satisfied on using NARSskin product urged me to buy this makeup primer. I AM AGAIN THRILLED BY NARS! SO SATISFIED! before when i apply concealer on my blemishes i notice that the sorrounding skin on the blemish area is flaking, as in its very obvious and UGLY! but using this product smoothen my skin out! Blending foundation is so easy and fun! and this product by the way is enriched with natural botanicals that soothes the redness on my skin! i just so love it! and actually it protects you skin by leaving an invisible film between you makeup and your skin, making you skin so protected! and by the way! IT IS LOADED WITH SPF AND ANTIOXIDANTS! SO if your going to use makeup, why not use the ones that will act as an extension to you skin care, right?

This primer is way overrated and way too expensive for what it does. I like the fact it's silicone free and it feels lightweight but it in no way extends the wear of my make-up. It pretty much acts and feels like a moisturiser without the antioxidants. It's priced at AU$95 which is very steep for a primer, and considering it pretty much doesn't do anything I definately won't be purchasing this one again!

I'm very iffy about this primer. I bought the one that contained SPF 20. It didn't feel silky smooth when I applied it more like just any ol' regular lotion. It was kinda greasy, maybe because of the SPF. It also has this citric scent to it (Well I think at least). I only found it good of use during the winter. My jawline get's very dry during the cold weather considering that I'm oily and acne prone. I found that this primer moisturized my dry areas yet at the same time it broke me out ! I won't re-purchase this again. I've had this for over 5 mths and It's still sitting in my make-up case. I have a little left but the price of it will only HURT you to throw it out knowing that you still have product left.

Overall the NARS Primer with SPF 20 PA ++ is a pretty good product. It has a high SPF rating and it works well with my NARS firming Foundation. The texture of this primer is white and very sunscreen like, its not clear like the Laura Mercier Primer. You only need a little and its very easy to apply, give it 30 seconds to absorb before applying your foundation. I don't use this primer with any other foundation, I use it exclusively with my NARS firming foundation and they work really well together (No Surprises there! A perfect Match). I love how it gets rid of the redness from my face. I would purchase this again for sure.

I bought this about 2 months ago, preparing for California summer, mainly because of the SPF. Before I made the purchase, I had a sample of it from the sephora points. The product worked fine when I was trying it out in the winter. It gives an extra moisture to my chap cheeks. However, now I have the whole tube, and it's hot, humid, and sweaty. It felt greasy and sticky. As a makeup primer, it worked OK! Nothing more or less from all the other primers I've tried though. The SPF in it is a plus, especially when I'm on-the-go. The foundation that I pair with is MUFE HD, and MAC Studio Sculpt. Over all, it's a great primer for dry skin, when your moisture is not enough, but since, my nose is a bit oily in the summer, this is probably NOT the product that I should be using.

the girl at the counter recommended this to me for my sensitive dry skin.. however, i did not notice anything about it. i like the consistency, the smell is okay too. but it didn't moisturize my dry cheeks or did i notice a difference in the longevity of my makeup.
It was my first time trying a makeup primer, but i will definitely not repurchase. a waste of money.

Made my face sting. I bought two tubes of this. First time was a few years ago and then I got conned into it again at the counter by a SA who said that it was great for sensitive acne-prone skin because it was silicone free. Not absolutely, horrifically terrible (hence two lippies rather than one) but didn't do much for me and like I said, stung when I put it on. Won't be fooled again! wouldn't recommend.

I was recommended this product from my boss who was a NARS exec for 5 yrs. I was really excited to try it..... she told me it practically healed her skin..... I am almost done with the tube.... & I don't even seeing myself finishing it.... b/c I want to try the clarins on the make-up geek told me about on her website & I heard the lancome one is good.... but I have dry skin & it is oil free... I don't know???? I just am beginning to think this primer is the cause for some breakout I have been having for that past couple of months... who know.... but I won't be buying this one or the laura mercier one..... didn't like it and they r very similar in texture!!!! thnkx

I wish I had tried the one without SPF. This review is for the one with SPF. Breaks me out. At first I wasn't sure, so I stopped using it for a while, cleared up. Added this back into the routine. Next day, blemishes. Too bad because I like the way it turned my face pink and it felt very good going on.
Would not ever buy this again.
