I really don't get the hype around this product. I gave some to my Mom to try out as well and she had the same results as me- nothing good. Well, I've tried it a few times. I have worn it overnight twice and then proceeded to wash and style as usual. While the product was in, my hair got really stringy and dirty looking. I figured that it was the oil and I was going to wash it out anyway. After I washed it out, I didn't notice any difference in my hair at all. I really wanted to like this. It seemed like the perfect thing for me, right down to the marketing. I am going to keep trying it in different ways- not according to the directions because that didn't work for me. Too bad it wouldn't work as an ordinary hair oil either.

I have lots of long, very fine hair and have been having trouble with dry scalp this winter. I was a little concerned about using this product because I thought it might weigh my hair down and make it greasy, but it has been just the opposite. I left the oil in my hair for about 2 hours last night. I washed it out (only had to wash once) and conditioned my hair with Paul Mitchell tea tree special, and my hair is gorgeous today. Full of life and shine, and my scalp feels so much better. It will probably take one or two more treatments to get my scalp where it should be, but this is going to become a staple in my beauty routine - I don't think my hair has ever looked this good and it feels amazing.
Regarding the smell: I didn't mind it. It smells like a mixture of pipe tobacco and caramel to me, but its gone pretty soon after washing the product out.

I like this product. I have very very thick, frizzy, hard hair. No matter what i do, it always look dry and lifeless. Before, i find this, i need to use two coats of conditioner in shower and a leave in conditioner after. But now, i can skip the leave in conditioner, and my hair look very shine and alive.
And i am not only use it as my pre-treat. I also use this as my protect treatment right before flat iron. My hair are soo thick that the highest temperature on flat iron can not flatten them easily. However, if i coat this oil on before iron, my hair can be easily flattened. It saved my time in the morning. love the oil.
I also use their shampoo and conditioner. Love, Love the conditioner too but not a fan of their shampoo.

The first time i tried Ojon it left my hair really greasy and i put it away for half a year. I decided to give it a try again. It left my hair weight down but soft, supple, shiny and extra silky. I will def buy again next time. Only con is the way it smells. It may smell good to some people but really stinks to others.

I actually hated this! It smelled disgusting, almost like rancid cigar smoke and old lady! I didn't see much difference in my hair but I also used some on my sister and it made her hair dry, brittle, and tangled. It is way too expensive and I just couldn't get past the smell! It says on the bottle to leave it in for twenty minutes or more but I had to wash my hair out in less than ten because I was literally gagging. I would honestly recommend that no one buy this product because it is HORRIBLE.

Absolutely brilliant hair treatment . Left it over night and was shampooed out twice properly to make sure none of it was left in my hair and conditoned as normal and was rewarded with soft and silky hair . As for the smell I actually liked it smelt like a natural coco smell. Try this it might work for you. I bought a sample size first as it's
Very expensive . Will rephurchase but when I dobt have the cash I will use almond or coconut oil as a susbtitute.

I hated this. I have dry hair and it made my hair soooooo greasy! I had to wash it several times to get all the oil out. I tried it on my son's hair because his hair is super dry and it left his hair feeling gritty and dry. After reading some of the other reviews maybe I used too much? I will try it again since I have it with much less applied and maybe just on the ends of my hair to see if my mind changes. I just don't see how it gets such good reviews and I hated it...

I actually have no problems with the smell, in fact I like it. It's a nice hair treatment, and a little does go a long way even with my waist-long hair but after some time I found that natual jojoba oil works much better at a lower price, so will not repurchase but will use up what I have

i had just moved from a humid climate to a very dry, high altitude climate and was looking for a weekly deep cleaning conditioner as my hair had become very dry and tangled and had lost a lot of its former shine.
It is important to use this sparingly, on the middle/ends of your hair, liquifying the lotion in your hands first, and putting on dry hair, say midway down to the ends - i never put it on my scalp.
yes, the smell is strong, but i put on a shower cap and then a towel so that helps. It restored a lot of shine and health to my hair, and gave it a full texture, so i thought the "organic" scent was worth the results.
The one thing I have found is that if you have very hard water, it is hard to rinse out and gets pretty gummy, but that is because of the minerals in the water, not the product itself. So if you don't have a water softener or have very hard water, I would not recommend ojon.

This stuff smells horrible - like cigar smoke, rancid peanut butter, and leather. Ugh! If you can get past that the product does work well, but definitely not for the price. If you have longer hair like I do, you might be lucky to get 15 uses out of the 4.6 oz tub. The directions are somewhat confusing and say to use about half a teaspoon then go on to say coat hair liberally. Well which one is it? There is no way that 1/2 tsp is going to coat my waist length hair even sparsely so I ended up using about a tablespoon or 1 1/2 tablespoons, avoiding the roots. I left it on overnight to get the best result. After washing the treatment out and starting to dry my hair (product free to fully evaluate the result of the treatment only) it had a waxy texture and was very tangly. I thought I was going to end up with mop of grease when I was done drying, but surprisingly when my hair was all the way dry it is surprisingly soft and shiny. It is flatter than usual and I imagine it will be oily by tonight since it already feels weighed down. I am left to wonder why this is so expensive since the only ingredients are african palm oil, fragrance, and a few vitamins. If you still want something natural, try just plain african palm oil or coconut oil from Tropical Traditions.

I got a little tub of this in a goodie bag a few months ago. I'm a sucker for a hair product so a couple of days later I tried it out. Being a complete idiot, I misread the instructions & instead of just applying one half-teaspoon I applied a good 4 teaspoons-worth of product and slathered it all over. The more, the merrier, no? No! After washing it all out, my hair was flat and horrifically oily. I mean disgustingly greasy. I tried washing my hair again. And again. No dice. It was only after 3 days (and 2 washes a day - 1 in the morning & 1 after gym) that the product washed out. I was so glad to have clean-feeling hair again that I just let it airdry. Holy granola, my hair was like those over-the-top Sunsilk commercials. All shiny (healthy shiny not oil-slick shiny, as previously) and bouncy and soft! Ever so soft!
I know a lot of people hate the smell but I really don't! I don't love it, but I think it's actually semi-pleasant. (Then again, I also think the smell of petrol at the gas station is amazing, so what do I know). True, it is expensive, but once you know how to use it, this stuff works!
Now, I use it about every week and a half. I apply a half-teaspoon and coat my ends (not the roots!) & after about 15 minutes I wash it out, taking a bit more time rinsing than normal to make sure the oil's all gone. Then, voila, you have wonderful hair, that is almost frizz-free, to boot! I'm definitely going to buy another little tub, once this one's all gone & I highly recommend. I also don't think this is just for people with dry hair. My hair is whack, it can be super oily at the roots and dry at the ends, so as long as you know your hair & where to apply this, this stuff genuinely works.

I received a sample of this from sephora and was reluctant to try it after reading so many horrible reviews for the smell. I finally got the courage up and found a good time when I knew that I wasn't going to have to see people for a day or two - I was planning on hiding out if I stunk that badly!
I was pretty surprised by the smell actually. It wasn't good by any means, but it wasn't disgusting. It was almost sickeningly sweet and reminded me of peanut butter, coffee and cigars. By the end though, I did have to sit outside..it was just too sweet smelling for indoors. Even a day later and it is still present in my hair if I really sniff. (I also use the Oscar Blandi jasmine serum)
Ok..I left it on for an hour and pinned my hair up. I focused the product mainly on the ends and around my front, which is where most of my damage is from flat ironing it daily. I can't say whether or not it did anything for my scalp or roots because I didn't apply it there. Honestly I almost ran out of my sample simply because of my hair length. I used wayyyyy more than directed. After washing it out (Redken All Soft shampoo and conditioner) I could definitely feel a difference before the conditioner even went on. It felt like it does AFTER I leave my redken on for about 5 minutes. Amazing. After showering, I combed it out and let it air dry after applying my jasmine serum.
I can't stop touching my hair - it hasn't been this soft since I was a young child..maybe 8. It added a lot of shine too. I still have split ends, but not nearly as noticeable now..I feel like it just smoothed them out, but hey, I didn't have to whip out the flat iron to do it. I will definitely be buying this in the next day or two...I'm in love. Yeah, it is pricey, but a weekly overnight (stinky) treatment for great hair will end up saving money going to the salon for trims and glosses. As a broke college student..I still say it's worth the money..just put back a few dollars every week!

This is one of the best hair treatment money can buy. yes, it is rather expensive, but considering that you only need to use it once a week and the condition of your hair will improve tremendously.
I've only used this twice and I've notice a whole lot of difference to my dry, sensitised highlighted hair.
I dont mind the smell, but some may. But the end result of this product is well worth it. There's nothing like it.
I heard the longer you leave it on, the better. I have not tried to leave it over night but I might just do that to see if it is a more significant difference.
Will definitely repurchase this again. Too good to miss out.

I tried as a sample with a Sephora order, and this is another one of those super-expensive products that aren't worth the hype. Basically, it's a blend of two types of palm oil with some plant and flower extracts added in. If you like palm oil that much, you can buy it from any natural food store. As for the Ojon product itself, it does liquefy quickly once you've got it in your hands. A little also goes a long way. It did build up on me, but given that I just got my hair cut short and it's not dry and damaged anymore, I'm not taking off points for that. Now, on to the smell (like rancid peanut butter): It does linger! In fact, it stayed in my hair for about three days! This combined with the fact that you can simply buy palm oil anywhere else for less is why it gets two lippies off. But I can see how people with super-dry would like it, which is why I'm giving it a three.

I tried a sample of this and its over-rated natural product hype. The smell is gross, however I'm not hypersensitive to that kind of thing so I would use it if it was effective. but it barely did ish. Coconut oil works better for my hair and is cheaper. I didn't have the problem that other people did washing out, since it was oily I just assumed that I should shampoo 2x because I have to do that with coconut oil, and that was enough. The smell also did not linger in my hair. I do have another sample and try it again. I'll leave in in overnight instead of an hour and update this is results are different.

I bought this product a while ago as part of an Ojon kit. A week ago I ran out of conditioner for a day or two so my hair was extremely dry (over highlighting did not help either...). So I put a very large amount in my hair and left it on overnight. The next day I washed it out and although I do not agree with other reviewers saying the smell stayed in the hair, the product seemed to. My long blonde hair was very damp/oily looking (although that is probably from the massive amount I loaded on, and leaving it for so long). After one more wash it was completely out, and my hair was left very soft and shiny. My waves were also very defined and frizz free. If you can stand the smell and the price tag I think this product works great for dry damaged hair, but make sure you have time to give two washes otherwise you will look rather oily.
