I didn't like this. It was a little while ago of using it. It smelt odd. It was expensive. It was very difficult to use because it ran everywhere. It did diddly squat for my skin. I would really like to find a good vitamin c serum. Going to try Obagi's professional C next.

All I can tell you is that it makes my face glow and look hydrated. I buy the sample vials on ebay. I don't know what does it but it works!

I have tried so many products. I am a real junky. When the ladies in the makeup store gave me samples of this I figured I would add it to my pile of unopened samples. Well... I am glad I decided to try it! I have been using it everyday for 2 weeks and my skin is amazing. I have had so many complements on it. Fewer lines, reduced redness and so soft with no dry patches. I am amazed. I am bummed abut the price but at least it is worth the money because it works. I am using in conjunction with the .5 retinol and the epidermal repair. I can't say if the this has done all of the work but it has done the bulk of it. It may not be the right serum for you but check out their others. The samples are great, they last for a few weeks so it is easy to give it a try before you commit. So many people are asking me what I am using and they all want a piece of the action.

This didn't do much for me in terms of fine lines or pigmentation, it's been three weeks and I expected some sort of difference by now. *Maybe* my fine lines are better, but if they are, the improvement is barely discernible. It does have a characteristic smell, I wouldn't say hot dogs, but I can't come up with a better description. It also does make me break out here and there, but I spot treat with Mario Badescu's Glycolic Toner, which clears everything up. I will continue to use and see if I notice an improvement.

OK product but, overall, way too greasy and I didn't like the smell. So I switched to Phloretin CF and am much happier with this great, new product. Check that one out instead in my opinion.

General comments: I don't like the packaging. It can be hard to use if you're a first time user. It also smells like hot dogs. It's liquid and once it's on your skin, it gets really sticky so you have to work fast or else it's really hard to spread it on your face.

It leaves a thin film on your face which gave my face a glow -- it's shiny, but not oily looking. I've only been using it for two weeks so far so I'll update again later. For now, I'm giving it 4 lippies since it has ingredients proven to be effective in lightening the pigmented areas and helping sunscreen to work better.

Week 1: I have sensitive skin, but it did not cause breakouts, dry patches, etc. It did not sting either.

Week 2: My skin began to peel around the mouth area and the jawline. I also had dry patches in those areas and broke out a bit around the mouth area where my skin peeled. It also began to sting a bit. I tried to moisturize the mouth area and it helped a little, but still peeled like crazy. I had to stop using it for a few days for the dry patches to go away.

Week 3: Because I stopped use for a few days during the latter part of Week 2, I was able to use it again without problems for the first three days or so of Week 3. However, the dry patches reappeared and my skin began to flake so I stopped use during the latter part of Week 3. At this point, I'm wondering if it's a phase or if I have to stop use every week. I'm hoping it's a phase because I really want to use this every day.

Week 4: This week I was able to use the product every day without having to stop. No problems whatsoever on Days 1-3; beginning on Day 4, my face began to sting after use. The stinging sensation would subside after use of moisturizer. On Day 6, skin began to peel and flake a bit, but not as badly as it did in the beginning.
_______
UPDATE: because of the dry patches, flakiness, and breakouts, I stopped using it completely at 8 weeks.
_______
UPDATE: 4/19/2011. After about 2 years, I'm trying it again. This time, I started it slowly -- I put 4-5 drops on my palms and blotted it on my face. Instead of using it every day, I applied once every three days. After two weeks, I applied directly on my face rather than the blotting method. It caused dry flakes around the chin again. Also my nose is showing first signs of flakiness. I'm supposed to apply again tomorrow. I think I will use the blotting method again until the flakiness subsides. Will update later.

I had ADHD when it comes to MU and skincare, and yet I continually repurchase this. It's hard to say what it does exactly, but I *notice* my skin is just somehow... nicer...smoother...more even...something, when I use this serum. I tried to quit and went crawling back. It smells like hot dogs (weird) but a little goes a long way and it absorbs fabulously. I love serums above all other "delivery vehicles."

Tips:

*Keep it in the fridge and take out what you need for a coupla weeks at a time.

*Get ahold of a sample if you can...perfect size to take out a few weeks worth to keep in your bathroom. I buy the sample packs and keep them in the fridge, taking one out at a time. The mini dropper is the perfect amount to cover your face. Two if you feel reckless!

*don't wash it off your hands when you are done with your face, rub whatever is leftover on the tops of your hands, or your elbows. Took me months to realize I was wasting it. duh.

Oh, how I hate the price of this. I’ve been using this for months, every two to three days or so in the morning. I leave it on for about 5 minutes, and than follow with my regular regimen (moisturizer, ss, tinted moisturizer or EDM foundation). My sensitive skin loves it! Contrary to my fears, I had no stinging or redness using this. Smell is off-putting (bacon, indeed), but something you can definitely get used to. The change to my skin wasn’t dramatic using this, but it did even out my skin tone. This is preventative, so don’t expect miracles. But it is one of the very few ingredients out there that is statistically proven to ward off unwanted ageing effects.

I just ran out of it, and I really hate to pay such a high price for it. But I will. It is worth it. I’m turning 30 this month, and nobody believes me. I look younger because I take care of my skin! This will be my b-day present for myself I guess. =)

I dont understand why so many people are looking for results from this. Its a treatment to PREVENT future damage not REPAIR existing damage. I think of it as an insurance policy for the skin so am unable to see results but will hopefully see them years down the line when I look younger than my age (hopefully). It does indeed smell of bacon though

i have been using this for almost a year and absolutely love it. The smell yes takes a bit to get used to but now it does not bother me at all. I have to say that I can see a big difference in my skin and the overall brightness of it when I stop using this serum. This makes my skin glow! I use it underneath my sunscreen every other day or so. I read that a C serum's antioxidant properties will last for over 24 hours so I have more product this way.

Had such high hopes for C E Ferulic. Used it for about a month. Didn't see any major improvement but I did start breaking out in a fine rash all over my browline. Again, this is after a month of using it, with no adverse reaction until then. The rash seems sort of common to some, reading the reviews here. So sad to have spent so much money only to be wasted.

I am 60 years old, and have used this product for many years. No one can believe I am 60, my skin looks very, very good. It is expensive, but amazon.com seems to have this product for under $100.00. I combine this product with the Skinceuticals Hydra B5 product and have not had any problems. You must leave this product on your face for around 3 to 4 minutes before adding any other product. Your skin will absorb the product and it will not wash off. My dermatologist recommends this product highly. You can use this with DNA Repair from Remergent, and you will not be disappointed. I have tried many, many expensive lines, and always come back to this one.
That being said, the best thing to prevent wrinkles and sagging is to wear a good sunscreen every single day, rain or shine.

I really don't like this product in many ways. I don't like its texture or smell. It is a tiny bit irritating to my skin so I only use it a few times a week in the am. The reason why I still give it a great review is because I view it to be a medicinal product that really works to boost sun protection. I have extremely sun sensitive skin (burn in less than 15 minutes w/out ss, and sometimes still burn w/ spf 30+ on). When I know I will be outside during intense, I use this product under my sunscreen and I am very well protected. I don't burn at all. For me this is worth the price alone. I can't speak to the long-term anti-aging/cosmetic results, but for antioxidant/sun protection, esp. the clinical claims made by the company, I think it really lives up to the claims w/ consistent results.

For those of you who don't want to spend $100 for the Skinceuticals Serum, I highly suggest Avalon Organics Vitamin C Serum. It's MUCH less expensive than Skinceuticals (only around $20) and it's really significantly improved my skin over the last month.

Skinceuticals C E Ferulic REALLY irritated my skin - caused acne and redness. Plus it smells very strongly medicinal.

I'm SO happy I found this less expensive alternative Avalon Organics Vitamin C Serum and I wanted to let all my fellow MUAers know (read my review of the product for more info)! :o)

I have repurchased this product twice. My sister-in-law gave me a photo which was taken after using this product for a while. My skin looked positively radiaent in the photo. I use Renova in the p.m. and now using Phloretin in the a.m. Right now I cannot tell much difference between the CEF and Phloretin. Read somewhere that you should alternate the use of the products (every other day) but I can't justify that expense.

Okay I'm writing this review for my mother. She is 48 and looks around 33-37. Around 10 years ago she developed hyperpigmentation on her cheeks and went to a dermatologist who was also a big researcher. Along with another product he told her to use this. My mother has beautiful skin without makeup, she gets stopped at stores and women ask her what she uses. I have friends who are 27 with more forehead wrinkles than her. The woman has no eye wrinkles that I can see. Her skin looks so youthful. I really believe its this serum, you should use it everyday. It works.

I have been using this product for little over a year and feel that is amazing. It smells bad and is recommended to use at night so that when you wash your face in the morning you don't have to worry about the smell. I read tons of reviews about it and believe that in the long run this product will help with aging. I LOVE IT!

I don't doubt that this product is great for some people, but it clogged my pores. The smell is absolutely horrible and does linger for a little while. It did seem to brighten up my face a little after a week or two, but then I started getting little bumps on my forehead and had to stop. I tried again a few months later and the same thing happen. Now I've moved on to trying the Phloretin....
