I admit I was waiting for this lustreglass to come out for a while (since I got the spring preview catalog in the mail)...I bought it without trying it at the counter and found out later that it looks like horrible applied to my lips. The brush applicator that I usually love works horrible for this shade. It applied uneven and very streaky and too sheer for my liking. I love the color but I was wishing for something slightly thicker (like Palatial)...somewhere in between V-red and this would be the perfect texture. I will end up returning this because I can't get it to work for me.

I must be the only one that didn't like this....i wanted it to be a nice marachino cherry red color but when i put it on my lips it looked more pinky-fuschia than red. I just didn't like it. I expected alot more from this, and i'm disappointed.

I love this color! The just-ate-a-cherry-popsicle look I wanted. It is a sheer true red that builds redness with more product. Not too dramatic-great for summer! Like all other Lustreglasses, its not too sticky.

Mmmm, very pretty. With just one coat it looks deep rose on me, but the more I layer, the more red it becomes. But not garish looking. I'm brown hair, golden brown eyes, NC20.

Oh venetian where have you been all my life?? I have been searching high and low for the perfect shiny blue-red lipglass - and here you are!! No glitter, no shimmer, just sheer juicy shine. Thank you MAC!

Oh boy- I love this lustreglass. It's so hot! I just feel so pretty when I wear it. It's a sheer blue-toned red that (finally) doesn't turn pink on my lips. There is no obvious shimmer or glitter, really... It's really subtle and helps to enhance poutiness rather than just shimmer. I went to MAC to buy a neutral lipglass and came out with this... Not what I went in for, but it was so worth it :)

Update: Now on my second tube. Still in love it.

i think i just might have found a holy grail lipgloss..i picked this lovely lipgloss up today and i instantly felt prettier and sexier..the color is a perfect bitten cherry ices look on your lips but doesnt give you the "hi im too made up look". the color is actually the color i wanted BB rosy lipgloss to be but wasnt..im so happy with this color and reccomend it to all..im dark haired with blue eyes and medium colored skin and i love it...stop reading this and go to your nearest mac store :)

I think I have found a new favorite! :-) I should preface that with the fact that I love red lipgloss/lipstick and own a lot of it, but Venetian might just be the perfect red - my new favorite! It goes on smooth and silky, it's not sticky at all like the lipglass. And as the previous reviewer mentioned it isn't gritty either - in fact, the shimmer just imparts a lovely 3-dementional "pouty" effect, there isn't any obvious glitter. The color is a perfect blue-toned red. I am very pale, but have olive undertones so frequently reds turn pink on me. Venetian, however, stayed a true red. I think this color is perfect for daytime wear because the lustreglass formula tones down the "stop sign" hue that some of my red lipsticks can have. :-) A definite repurchase for me!

Oh my! This is the lipgloss I have been waiting for MAC to make! It's a beautiful cool, blue-toned red with pearl and gold shimmer. It didn't turn fuchsia on me and feels great. Slicker than lipglass and not particularly sticky. For all the shimmer, it's not gritty at all. Great color payoff - the new lustreglasses MAC just launched seem to be more pigmented. I can see myself using this up and repurchasing over and over again - great job MAC!
