The sales associates at Lush told me this smelled like the snowcake soap so I went ahead and bought this on an impulse. I really don't need another lotion or cream but couldn't help it because I love snowcake soap! Anyway, this smells a little like the snowcake but not as much as I had hoped. I'm not a fan of this - while the texture is nice and smooth, this is very greasy once I put this on my hands. I think that this is too expensive for what you get - there are much better and cheaper alternatives to this that are readily available at the drugstore. I loathe the packaging too - I really wish that Lush would upgrade their packaging - the lid is hard to screw back on and the black pot looks cheap, is boring and is a bit too utilitarian for my taste. I think that Lush needs to get some cute jars that are PINK!
EDITED: I have been trying to use this up and have put this on my hands the last few days. It is making the tops of my hands break out in little red bumps. This has NEVER happened to me before!

When I first got this I hated the scent for a few months (I AM a fan of snowcake though) but for some reason the scent was just too strong. I finally got to the point where it didn't nauseate me to use it and it is OK....I wouldn't rebuy b/c it is SOOO greasy and does NOT soak in well. After using I really have to be careful what I touch b/c it gets on everything. Not to mention its too expensive.... I like their Lemony Flutter *MUCH* better as it soaks in quickly and the scent is delicious !

I love the smell of this!!! Foody almond that reminds me of a homemade almond jelly snack I used to eat when I was younger. Leaves my hands pretty soft and smooth, but it's not really moisturizing enough for my cuticles. Will still repurchase though... the texture is suitable for humid Singapore

Smitten is a heavy and greasy lotion, which is fine by me because I use it on my hands and feet, where I need something super moisturizing and thick to penetrate the dry areas. It does smell good, like bitter almonds. People may expect some really sweet almonds from Smitten, but this cream smells very much like bitter almonds not sugared almonds or desserts. To me it smells like Caron Farnesiana perfume a bit, which smells like bitter almonds and powder. Smitten contains many good ingredients, like chamomile, almond oil, marigold, flaxseed oil, cocoa butter, avocado oil, coconut butter, beeswax, and cassie (which coincidentally, or not, is called acacia farnesiana (see above) ). I love the texture and the smell of this hand cream. And the results aren't bad either -- my hands and feet are left nicely moisturized and not greasy after I work the cream in very well. The price is a little high for the small 3.5 oz tub I bought, but it lasts a long time. Worth the money, to me. I have the LUSH Forum Snowcake perfume too, so I layer Smitten with Snowcake for almond deliciousness. This is one of LUSH's best products, I think.

I'm using this now in the summer heat and I love it. It smells lovely. My only beef if is the price (for the quantity) and the hare-brained packaging scheme. I may buy it again. Maybe.

I didn't like this one bit. It just sat on my skin and made my hands feel really greasy, but once it wore off my skin was just as dry...

I actually am fond of the scent of Smitten, but find it rather useless as a hand cream. It is simultaneously too greasy and not very moisturizing. It doesn't soak into my skin very well, so it just rubs off on everything I touch and in half an hour my hands feel dry again. I'll use up the tub I have, but I won't repurchase.

Ok, LUSH. You got me. It was a trick, wasn't it? I ordered every "almond" scented product LUSH had available... And this is what I get. A greasy, thin, worthless hand cream that smells like vinyl. It takes forever to sink in, and once it does it really doesn't *do* anything. Just stinks. Ugh. Like Snowcake. Vinyl and band-aids. Where's the almond??? I can't believe how much I paid for this.

love love love this! my hands have been really dry this winter and nothing worked. smitten feels greasy at first, but then sinks in nicely and makes my hands butta soft! and the fragrance - mmmmm! i don't like the twist off tub packaging, but i'll deal with it. also a bit pricey for the amount you get, but it works! will def. repurchase. UPDATE: separated into a greasy mess in the tub not even a month after purchase...gross! this went into the trash.

I like Snowcake so I like Smitten. It comes in a small black container and it's white and creamy. It's rather greasy, but when it has sunk into my skin, it doesn't leave my hands very moisturized. Because it's so greasy, I mostly use it before I go to bed.

Smitten is a lovely hand cream with a subtle almond scent. Like many Lush products, it comes packaged in a 3.5 oz. black tub with twist-off lid, making it pretty portable and unlikely to open during transit. Although it is quite greasy on initial application, it soaks right in and leaves my cuticles and nails strong. I took off a lippie because I prefer L'Occitane's signature hand cream for scent and packaging. However, this is a good product that I will likely purchase again.

Smitten, like most Lush products, has a scent that pulls me towards buying it even if I'm not entirely satisfied with the effects. Smells subtley of almonds - every time I use it I want to eat a piece of almond bread. However, I find it is a little too greasy, even though my hands get very dry. Sure, it leaves my nails and cuticles looking fantastic, but the rest of my hands don't absorb the oil as fast as I wish they would. Once it is absorbed, my hands stay supple for many hours, but it's that initial greasyness that drags the rating down. I'd only use this sparingly, or as a really intensive moisturiser. Price wise - I can't complain, as you need so little each time the tub will last forever!
Update: I raised it a lippie, after several weeks of using it, my ragged cuticles are basically all gone. And I still have most of the tub left!

Oh, where to begin! Smooth, supple and oh so sensual, Smitten is like an elegant white evening glove. It smoothes onto your hands like silk, leaving a sexy but lady-like fragrance. It combines the sweet fruit-ness of tropical banana with the sophistacted element of vanilla and musk. The ultimate product for us girls that want to be sultry but retain our proper side! It is quite the sexiest Lush product I have tried!
warning: It is a bit thick, but as this is Winter and my hands tend to be drier, I needed a thicker hand cream!

Does this smell like Snowcake, really? I so badly want it to smell like Snowcake, especially now, when I'm in the middle of almond/vanilla obsession, but it just didn't smell like it to me at all. Granted, the LUSH store in my area is inside a mall which means all the scents have no chance of exiting the store - they all blend together and confuse the nose terribly - so maybe, just maybe, my senses were so filled with Silky Underwear/Sex Bomb/Happy Hippy/And So On and So On, that by the time I got to Smitten, I just couldn't smell anymore. I did, however, get the almond thing, but ever so slightly, like someone had taken a tub of unscented cream and stuck two or three whole almonds at the bottom of the container. As a hand cream, I'd say it's a no go... it's so greasy, and never felt like it settled in, leaving my hands to feel gross and clammy until I washed them. So I'm going to say I may purchase, if it's true that it works better as a body lotion... and if outside of a LUSH, it actually does smell like Snowcake.

Very good hand cream (you could use it as a body cream, although it could get expensive if you use it that way), GREAT almond Snowcake fragrance minus the buttery vanilla, but my only gripe is that like all of the LUSH lotions I've tried, it goes on a tad too greasy. The fragrance is worth it, though. My favorite LUSH lotion, great for layering (my other favorite was Potion, it wasn't so good for layering but the scent by itself was amazing). Now why won't LUSH make a fragrance out of this?

This is fab for moisturizing my hands while at work -- it smells like my beloved Snowcake, has a lovely, creamy texture (much like pudding) and soaks into my hands instantly, leaving them soft but not the least bit greasy. LOVE it. Another winner from LUSH!

I attended a LUSH party and the SA used this to give me a hand massage. It was very moisturizing and smelled amazing, but was way too greasy afterwards. It was hard to get off my hands as it didn't absorb well. I'd say it's better for use as an indulgence, once in a while, and not for everyday use (because it's too greasy).

This was a little greasy when you first put it on, but it absorbs very quickly. Did a nice job of moisturizing and helping to repair my dry hands. Really smells like Snowcake so if you aren't a fan, you aren't going to like this. I wish the jar was a bit bigger and it came in a tube, but it will still take me a while to use it up. Definitely one to pick up.
