As much as I love this moisturizer, I wouldn't recommend it for people with extremely dry skin, especially in the winter. It's a very light formula which I love, and it works wonderfully as a make-up base.

Although everyone seems to be complaining about the packaging, I don't mind it so much - partly because it's convenient to travel with but mostly because I dip my finger into the jar after I have washed my face, meaning my hands are clean. So I don't understand where the "not sanitary" scare comes into play.

Anyways, although it is a bit on the pricier side for a drugstore item, you actually get a pretty decent amount of product for the price.

The ONLY con for me is breaking open the aluminum seal!!! I have never had so much trouble opening anything before! But once I got past the struggle of taking off the seal, I have never skipped a day in using this moisturizer. Every morning I wash my face, apply this moisturizer, and then apply my make-up. Then at night, I use Merlot Moonlight Radiance Night Cream.

I don't see myself running out of either moisturizers anytime soon, but when I do, I will definitely be repurchasing.

I love this stuff! My skin feels very soft after I apply this. I like that it doesn't leave a greasy feeling on my skin like some moistureizers do. I had dry patches on my cheeks before I started using this & they're gone now. The price is a little higher for drugstore items but very cheap when you consider the price of high end creams. The jar packaging doesn't bother me except I feel that if I drop it the jar might crack.

I was trying out new moisturizers. After watching hours of youtube makeup reviews and reading reviews on here; I decided to try it out. My boyfriend and I share this product so its running out pretty quickly. Anyways this moisturizer works pretty well because I use to have a dry flake spot on my right cheek and now it's gone. I get pimples when its TOM but I'm fine I just use a spot acne treatment on it but mehh. Reason why I won't buy again because my boyfriend bought it and I thought this product overall on my skin was mediocre.

I heard many good reviews about this grape seed lotion from the web and so decided to buy it. Yes the packaging is almost ludicrous and it comes in a jar. But I still gave it a try anyway.

I don't like it because I don't notice anything different with my skin. My fine lines still remain. Moreover, my skin felt tight after I applied. It doesn't feel moisturizing at all. Plus I feel like I got more small breakouts in areas that usually don't have breakout (like my neck) from using this products. So I gave it to my mom because she doesn't have any acne problem. She has been using it for months now but it still doesn't help with her wrinkles. I don't know why people like this product so much. I wouldn't buy this again, it's pricey and ineffective.

I'm on the fence about this one. Pros: nice and light scent, absorbs into the skin easily and quickly, feels non-greasy, SPF, reasonably priced.

Major con: it broke me out after one use! I got several pimples and blackheads on my forehead, where I usually never have any blemishes. Nothing else in my regimen changed but this, so I'm pretty sure it is the cause. Perhaps this is due to the petroleum in this product.... Too bad, I really wanted to like this product.

I like this product - but I cant use it during the winter bc it is too light. I like the fact that it's cheap, natural, smells good, has anti-oxidants, etc but it is more of a light gel moisturizer. It kind of reminds me of Clinique dramatically different moisturizing gel. It is not strong enough for dry skin. Maybe it will work better during the summer.

UPDATE: I have found that this works very well as a makeup base!

About Me:

23y/o Asian, combination skin, awful acne (inflammed cystic, blackheads, white heads, monster heads, u name it, I've got it) on my cheeks, which also happens to be the dry area on my face.

LoveLoveLove! I got Merlot bcuz I wanted something natural and moisturizing for my dry cheeks during winter. I coat this lotion over my acne covered cheeks and it does exactly what it's suppose to! It absorbs quickly and thoroughly, no residue behind! Sometimes if I feel like having extra protection, I will put a second layer. However, this moisturizer may not be enough for dry skinned people. If I use mineral make up (Every Day Minerals), it will still collect in the dry flaky skin around my acne - Merlot isn't moisterizing enough to prevent that!

This lotion doesn't improve my acne but it doesn't make me worse. I loooOOooove the fantastic natural scent - without any synthetic fragrance listed in its ingredient list! The second ingredient is grape seed extract which makes me happy bcuz that means there's a large amount of grape extract in the product (unlike in some high end products where all the natural, herbal products are at the end of the list which means there's very little of it in the actual product).

I don't worry about sanitation because every time i dip my finger in the jar, it comes out coated in the lotion - there is nothing left behind that my finger has touched so there is no transferring of bacteria that's left behind.

I've been using this for a few months - about half way done with this and will def. repurchase when I run out. I am very happy with this no nonsense moisturizer that does exactly what it's suppose to and at a great price!

LOVE! This is a great moisturizer for me, I have acne-prone, sensitive and slightly dehydrated skin. This has helped a lot! Does not look greasy, shiny, overly matte. Minimal ingredients and no irritation.
only con would be the jar packaging.
Update: Just finished my second jar, I go through this fast! I still love it for it's lightweight moisture, my skin loves it too. Never heavy or greasy, good base for makeup.

Great product! High end product for low end price, this is amazing drugstore moisturizer worths every penny, its light-weight and non greasy moisturizer that absorbed quicky and give your face immediate pump after applied. My face is noticeably less tiring and lively after few applications. One huge merit point is Its have really good smell that i find it very soothing. I just become a fan of this line and gradually adding more of their products to my skin care routine.

Price: $14 for 4 oz

Where can you get it: Walgreens, its website

What it claims:Creme de Vin is made of natural red grape seeds polyphenols. It offers sensational antioxidant properties thereby helping to inhibit the aging process.

What it is: It's a light lavender colored moisturizer that's made from grape seeds. It's a very liquidy lotion that goes on very "wet" and gets absorbed instantly.

What I like about it:
--It's very moisturizing, and the moisturizing property lasts a long time
--It feels very light on, not like you are wearing moisturizer, but your skin just feels soft and supple
--it's oil free
--it doesn't clog pores (on me)
--the SCENT!! It's so amazing! It's very refreshing.
--you get a lot of bang for your buck.
--It's fast absorbing, so you don't have to wait a long time to put on makeup
--SPF! Hello?

What I don't like about it:
--The packaging is kinda ugly in my opinion. It's too simple.
--It comes in a jar so you have to dip your finger in it, which is not the most sanitary thing.
--It might be hard to find for those of you that are NOT in the US.
--It's not moisturizing enough for gals with extremely dry skin in the winter.

My skin type is combination sensitive acne prone skin.. lemee break that down. The sides of my mouth and my nose is dry but everywhere else is oily, My skin is sensitive to acids and alcohol and I break out if like crazy even if I skip one facewash... I bought this and I wanted to love it so bad, I really did. It's very light and non oily and a pretty lavender color. Unfortunately it made me get dry flaky patches on the sides of my face and my nose :( it also made my skin red and it burned. i highly recommend this for oily or combo skinned people it's very very good. I wouldn't buy it again of course due to my skin type but the only general con is that the container is rather annoying because the formula slides around a lot and so it ends up on the cap and bleh I just think a squeeze bottle would be more convenient

I started using this moisturizer about a week ago and I love it so far. I have rosacea so I have to be very careful what products I use...at first, I was a little skeptical thinking it may irritate my skin...but so far, it has not. I've noticed that just in the week that I've been using, my skin's texture is nice and glowy, smooth to the touch and my makeup goes on nicely. One con: they really ought to put this in a pump or tube...I hate having to dig in the jar.

This broke me out after only one day. I have the version with no SPF, so that's not it. I think it's that petrolatum (basically Vaseline) is like the second or third ingredient. It's sad, because it does FEEL light and makes the skin look fresh. But, the breakouts aren't worth it. On the other hand, the Merlot Night Cream has caused me no breakouts and does a great job.

I thought this was going to be my HG moisturizer, but unfortunately it does break me out...So now I use it on my chest and arms. I gave it 3 stars because it's awesome if it doesn't make you break out!
UPDATE: I apply this over my lips before applying gloss for the spf protection and it makes my lips SUPER soft and helps the lipgloss stay on nice and smooth. Even by it self, it gives my lips a really pretty sheen!

Oh boy! I got this when someone I know told me how great it's working for her. It has a distinct smell and went on smoothly on my face. The next morning, tears would not stop coming out of my eyes. I couldn't figure out what it might be until I decided to open the merlot container and see if it was that. Yup, it was. So people who have sensitive eyes, try something else.

I have combination skin, and with the cold weather my forehead is super dry whereas my chin is greasy. I usually use the Olay for combo skin with SPF 15, and it's good, it doesn't irritate my skin, but it does take a while to dry/absorb. With this moisturizer, it absorbs into the skin fast, but it really light, and non-greasy. I don't moisturize my skin at night because I usually wake up with a oil slick, but with this, I've been moisturizing at night also, and waking up with soft skin! I love it, it reminds me a lot of Hope in a Jar by Philosophy, except it smells a lot better and is a lot cheaper.

edit: started getting white bumps after a week or so, realized there's alcohol in the ingredients. i only use it occasionally because i do like how it moisturizes. shame im too sensitive :[

I really like this product so far but i think it only works well when you go out and not at night. I bought the one that says no spf 15 but i called the merlotskincare.com and they told me they had a label change and thats why the jar didnt say spf 15. weird? -__- but overall this product is pretty good, not so good for the winter time since is not really rich.

This review is actually for the Merlot Anti-Wrinkle Cream (non SPF, in a large bottle format). I love this stuff! I thought about getting one of the other Merlot moisturizers, but I liked this one because it's not a jar (jars allow oxygen to get in and degrade anti-oxidants). It's perfect for my combination/dryish skin - I don't break out from acne in the oily places, and it moisturizes well in the dry places. When I wake up in the morning wearing this (as opposed to my other night creams), my skin looks great! The only downside is that it's fragranced, although luckily the grape-y smells goes away quickly. This would be the perfect product if it were fragrance-free and came with a pump, but it's close enough to perfect, especially at the more-than-reasonable price.

Just started using this in the last few days but so far so good! I was using Olay Daily Beta Hydroxy lotion with SPF 15 and was actually quite satisfied with that, but saw the increasing hype over this merlot and was shcoked when I saw it in Walgreens (my walgreens usually doesnt carry what others seem to like my beloved AHA lotion).anyway, I just had to have it. I also liked that this had the same SPF as the Olay so that was good and it is zinc oxide which is also what I use. This does a beautiful job moisturizing my skin which has been getting dry lately, but my T-zone still gets oily. The Merlot balances all that out perfectly and I am trying not to use primer with this and its working well as a makeup base so far. I would loove it if I do not have to go back to primer I just hate putting that extra layer of gook on my face. This leaves an exquisate finish that is not sticky at all. Keeps the shine away just as long if not longer as anything else I have tried. The only draw back is that this is a little more expensive then the Olay and is in a scoop jar which I hate. No breakouts so far, crossing my fingers!
UPDATE 8/11 - Had been stocked up on the original formula for quite some time now just realized the new packaging = new formula...feels thicker and more tacky and I can already tell I'm not going to be happy with this. Still love the original though..bring it back Merlot!
