Yes, it really does plump your lips. This stuff is very expensive but totally worth it. I don't know how, but this is the only product I've tried (I tried many!) that really, really works. It doesn't burn like lip venom, doesn't have any funky taste or smell, just makes your lips lucious and plump!
**UPDATE 2/18/08**
For some reason I can't find this in sephora anymore, so I tried LipFusion, which was very very good, but EXPENSIVE...my newest HG is BE buxom in Krystal...works better than lipfusion and costs less...YAY!!

I've used the clear gloss every night plus the coloured ones during the day for a month now, and can't report any difference. The coloured glosses do not sting like the clear one, which makes me wonder if the active ingredient is really in there as stated... Like the clear one, it does however discolour and irritate the skin, if you put too much on.
I'll continue using the product, and write an update if anything changes.
On the positive side: the glosses smell and feel great!

It made my lips slightly pinker and plumper when it was on.
Didn't notice significant plumping over 30 days...but I still like what it does when I'm wearing it.
I like it a lot more than the DuWop because it makes my lips feel better.

The Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval is what pushed me over the top to try this stuff. I must say I liked the click top better than the sponge tip City Lips is using now. If you put enough on, it works..ever so slightly. I've been using this stuff for over three months. I'm 55 and my lips are plumper. I'm also using City Lips' cream for the face and slather that over my lips too. I've tried alot of stuff that didn't work. This does. I'll keep buying it til it stops working.

I guess city lips works depending on how it interacts with your body chemistry. What it's supposed to do is increase the poduction of colagen in your lips so that they appear plumpier. That, on the long term use. On the spot, it plumps up your lips by increasing the blood circulation. This effect is related to the tingly feeling you get when first apply the gloss. I've been using city lips for about 20 days now. When i apply it, it always does plump and make my lips look a bit red on the spot. But this effect only lasts as long as i still have gloss on my lips. The long term effect is starting to show but it's nothing dramatic. It's not something someone else would notice but myself. I still ahve to wait the full 40 days to get the full results but up to now i'm pretty satisfied with the product. I bought the special pack for 29$ that contains 4 different shades with a slight vanilla smell and a night treatment. I'll edit this post in 20 days to comment on the full results. But up to now, I would definitly repurchase!
UPDATE: I found city lips really didn't do much for my lips even after using it religiously for 40 days. On top of that, the clear nightgloss started to have a really bad smell. I don't advise you to buy this product, way too expensive for no results whatsoever. Stick with lipvenom if you want the immediate tingly sensation. But those long term promises are fake.

I swear, it seems like my lips have actually gotten SMALLER since using CityLips--especially when I look at the before/after pictures I've taken on the first day vs. today (30 days later). But if my eyes have deceived me, then at very best I'd have to say that it didn't make any noticable increase in lip size at all.
But to be fair, the instructions do say to wait 30-40 days, so I'll wait it out. I'm still waiting and hoping that my lips will transform into Angelina Jolie-esque pillows...
So why the 4 lippie rating? Because even though it didn't live up to its promise of increased plumpness, it HAS done a great job at smoothness and minimizing chapping. This is the first out of all the chapsticks and glosses I've tried that keeps my lips soft and flake-free even through the harsh Canadian winters! I also like the tiniest rush of stinging to get a very subtle blush to the lips, which I occasionally prefer to DuWop's stinging-like-crazy-burn. The other great thing about CityLips is their customer service, which I put to use when I found that it leaked more product than I actually used. They were prompt, friendly, and sent another tube free of charge which saved me a trip back to Sephora. But I'll be going back to purchase this again anyway!

I have really full lilps to begin with so i cant say i really noticed any difference using this product for several weeks. My lips size look pretty much the same. What i did notice was this reallly softened my lips. Got rid of dead skin. I really liked it for that. But the problem is that if I put this too close to my lips edge, they itch. I can only wear this on the inner part of my lips and not near the lip line, otherwise, itching. Because of that i would not repurchase but i did like the softening and exfoliating this did!

I have tried many lip plumpers and wanted to try this one since it received the good housekeeping seal of approval. I got two tubes for 29.00 on special, and used it as directed ( before I go to bed at night ) after about a week, I did notice my lips are fuller and softer. I like the effect that lasts all day and does not wear off. It does not sting or make my lips red, and the tube seems to last forever. I am really pleased and plan on repurchasing.

i got a sample size of this, and it makes my lips slightly fuller. it doesn't sting like the du wop line does. city lips is quite expensive, and i'm not a huge fan of the plumping products in general. i'm not sure if i would buy this or not, as i'm pretty happy with the way my lips are already. i honestly cannot see how continued use of city lips (or any of those products) can physically plump lips over time, without actually having a collagen injection.

I absolutely love this lipgloss as well! Used to have really dry and neglected lips. I see the difference in less than a month. My lips are so pretty. I think the price is worth it for that kinda effect. It's a plumping treatment and normal lipgloss can't do that.

I've been using this product faithfully every morning and every night for 2 weeks and I can totally see a difference in my lips. They look much fuller and they are super soft, which is very rare for me at this time of the year... it's cold outside! This product did not sting or burn in any way but I do not have sensitive skin so that could be why. I do not detect a scent in it either.
UPDATE:
I once loved this and I do believe it works but it made my lips peel a lot, so much that I was constantly buying moisturizers and balms to stop it but nothing helped. I finally bit the bullet and had Restylane injections and I'm much happier. The injections cost about the same as it would cost me to keep purchasing this for 9 months anyway since the tube is so skinny and doesn't include a lot of product.

I got a sample of this from Sephora and ordered from them again just to get another sample..... it seems to plump out the lines in my lips, and they are super soft after it all rubs off. I asked co-workers if my lips looked fuller and everyone said 'they look shiny' but I can notice a difference, since I look at my lips every day. Even without the plumping effect I like how this gloss feels, but I can't afford the $29 for a full-size tube. I'll have to make my samples last awhile. :(

I got this as a sample with my Sephora gold order. It has a very nice way of subtly plumping my lips (my lips are already very big... think a tad smaller than Angelina Jolie's...) and making my lipline looks less weird. I loved how this feels on my lips, too, and the smell is not disgusting or anything. I probably won't purchase though, because I have less expensive chapsticks, even, that make my lips pretty nice and full looking, but I will never complain about re-receiving the samples!

It's only been 2 weeks but my lips are looking fuller. I use this every night and under my lippie in the morning. My tube will not last me much longer and like the other reviews say, I won't be able to get all the product out. It makes a nice lipbalm, better than Vaseline. But the price is very high. I'm going to order 2 more with my Sephora 20% off, use them up and then I will re-evaluate the size of my lips. LOL
UPDATE: This is not a good lip balm at all-it's been drying my lips out and I was blaming my lipstick. The lip plumping is so temporary that I am no longer going to waste my money on this. I would pay for significant results, but for now I am going to accept that I don't have full lips and put the money towards playing up another facial feature. :)

It works, without the burn of Duwop. AND even when you don't use it, the plumping results are still there. Just have to boost it every couple of days. If a product works, then it gets a good rating. The price is too high. But then again, think of all the money wasted on stuff that doesn't do what it promises. I prefer click pen, more sanitary. It feels very moisturizing.Makes my lips a pretty rose color all by itself, which is clear.

Got this as a gwp and it says on the box that it's painless, but I tried it and it stung! And my mouth looked like it was breaking out into a bunch of small cold sores. I HATE cold sores. Not a fan of this at all.

Have used the clear treatment for 3 weeks now and think this is a crock. It's got cinnamon oil in it so your lips swell and tingle. Big deal. Do not get this on your face or near your eyes. I did by accident and it raised a red welt. I have used this twice a day for 3 weeks and sure, my lips swell a little for 10 minutes and then they go down again. When this is on, my lips are angry and red looking and feel numbish. Not nice. For $30 I would have expected something that works, not a DooWop Lip Venom wannabe. Oh and the wand/brush thingie is not long enough to reach all the way to the bottom of the tube so you can't even use up all the expensive product.

I've used this on my very thin lips for two weeks, and I see enough difference pay $30 for another tube. I took off one lippie due to the packaging...I'm not sure that I'll be able to get all the product out with the wand. The only other *slight* problem that I have with this is that if the gloss goes above my top lip, it gets kind of red. (This doesn't happen under my bottom lip). No stinging, itching, or break out though.

I received mine in the mail in the afternoon and applied it as soon as I received it, and again before bed. I woke up the next morning with plumper lips. They didn't even feel like my own lips. And I could see the result in the mirror. I'm sold - I won't be without this product. I bought the clear and it's been fine applied very sparingly and rubbed in, under lipstick, for day, and I've had no problems with wearing it to sleep in.
The packaging could be better. Mine broke the second time I used it - the tube containing the product snapped off when I opened it. I scraped the gloss out of the tube with a plastic coffee stirrer and transferred it into an empty lip gloss pot. I emailed the company and within an hour got a response saying they were putting a replacement in the mail to me. Incredible customer service.
The price is an outrage if you consider it a price for lip gloss - but for a product that actually changes your features, it's not a bad price. I'll pay it, anyway. I got better results with this than I got with $450.00 worth of injected collagen. (Yes. Better.)

I absolutely disliked this product. I got it in SunDiego...which is supposed to be a beautiful rosy bronze. First of all, colorwise...it looks too frosted on me, and secondly, for some reason, I got absolutely not TINGLING!!!!!! I have used Too Faced Lip Injection, which i've felt a little tingling, but supposedly w/ City Lips, I expected it to a more intense! So, I got no plumping at all, the color was all right, and I felt to sensations :(....very disappointed in a product that I've been lemming for months. Plus, the price is wayyy too high for a tiny gloss which does nothing. Maybe my lips are immune, who knows? But, I have already shipped my SunDiego back to Sephora, where it belongs.
