Let me start by saying this is my first review. The reason I'm going to start posting reviews is that, to be honest, many of the reviews I find here aren't helpful. For example, when searching for facial cleansers, most reviews either state that it made the user break out terribly or cleared up their skin. And that wouldn't be a problem if the user at least wrote what kind of skin issues they have. So I'm going to offer my reviews, which I promise will always be balanced. There will be no useless gushing or vendettas against brands/products.

Summary: A success from Burt's Bees.

This is the lotion I'm currently using. I came across it in a sample variety pack. I love natural products and have had a lot of success lately with BB's line. The packaging is nice and simple and made of recycled plastics. The product has a pleasant smell (my husband even commented), is easy to dispense and travels well. Though it isn't moisturizing enough for my feet and hands, it replenishes my dry skin everywhere else, even after shaving. I can't speak to whether it's gentle enough for baby, but I'd imagine it's much better than products with parabens, etc. for infants. It's more expensive than a lot of drugstore lotions, but I'm willing to pay the $8 or so price for a mostly natural product.

I've used this lotion for a few times now and I don't like it. It's too runny and it doesn't sink in, but leaves a greasy film on my skin and it doesn't seem to go away (only after a few hours). The scent is nice; sweet and warm - not heavy. Wouldn't repurchase.

I have super sensitive, dry skin with what used to be severe keratosis psoriasis on my arms (those icky red, dry bumps). Most lotions have done nothing to help my dry arms, which was probably due to fragrance, which was irritating my super-sensitive skin. Burt's Bees Baby Buttermilk Lotion is different, it's 97.31% natural, so I know that no harsh, irritating chemicals are being put on my skin. From the moment I started using this my skin was softer, and less bumpy. My only qualm about this product is the fragrance, I don't really care for the buttermilk scent, which is really strong in this lotion. Overall I give this five stars for it's ability to soothe and calm down sensitive skin, despite its strong smell.

I love this lotion! I'm a big fan of LUSH dream cream because it makes my skin so soft till the next day after a long tub bath as if it seals in the moisture.Well guess what this baby bee buttermilk has the same effect on me! Not only that I love the smell(someone alluded that it smells like BPAL Alice) it is so innocent and I smell like a baby! I would imagine a cherub smells like this=)So I get the benefit of soft, good smelling skin, affordable and easily available.

This is my HG lotion. Yes, it is runny but since the ingredients are so good it has helped my HORRIBLE eczema better than any thick cream that the dermatologist told me to use. They'd just sit on my skin and get scratched off. Not this, it sinks in and soothes my fussy skin. And I love the smell! It's much nicer than the Milk and Honey version, it's too strong for me. This is just right, and seems to be just as emolient. The bottles are small, but you know what they say about good things coming in small packages, that saying is true when it comes to the Baby Bee Buttermilk Lotion.

Both myself and my MIL love this lotion. It does smell sweet and has a soft apricot scent to it. The lotion is very runny, easy to rub in and leaves my skin extremely soft.
Makes an excellent after sun lotion, I also use after I have shaved my legs.
Even though the consistency is thin it also makes a good hand cream. Pricey but well worth the money.
Have repurchased this lotion over and over again, one of my HG's!!

Ingredients: Purified water, sunflower oil, coconut oil, vegetable glycerin, vegetable fat, beeswax, fragrance, glucose, sugar & natural enzymes, Vitamin E, orange wax, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, buttermilk powder, xanthum gum, sucrose stearate, sodium borate, rosemary leaf extract.

Contains no parabens, chemical additives, synthetic fillers or preservatives.
Edit/ Took a few stars off this, after a while the smell strted to become a bit cloying.

I LOVE this lotion and I use it both as body moisturizer as well as a hand lotion; it is pricey but I cannot do without. I love the scent and the texture as well and one bottle seems to last me for months!!!

I love to apply this when I'm just out of the shower. It's in a sturdy, cute pump bottle, and it makes my skin so smooth and silky. It also absorbs so well. The bottle alludes to babies, and this is mild enough for them (though do they really need it?), but it's definitely effective for adults, too!

I started using this body lotion while I was pregnant because I wanted to use only all-natural products without chemical preservatives. I find this to be very moisturizing, and sinks in well. I used this every day on my expanding pregnant belly and wound up with no strech marks! I now also use this on my 11 month old, and it doesn't irritate her sensitive skin. I have repurchased this product countless times and will continue to do so, it is my staple body lotion. I love that there are no toxic chemicals, and especially that there are no parabens. The fragrance is pretty strong (I just saw below that they have now reformulated and the fragrance is lighter? Can't wait to try that!). After I try the new formula I will update, it may go up to 5 lippies if the scent is lighter! UPDATE: The fragrance is still quite strong even with the new formula, although it does go away eventually. I think I would only give this 5 lippies if it were completely unscented, but that is because I prefer fragrance-free products. I'm not sure they could do that though since the all-natural ingredients might smell funny without any fragrance. Anyway, I continue to use this, it works very well.

This is a good lotion for babies just out of the bath. My son is prone to dry patches on his legs and arms, and this lotion smooths on very nicely without a lot of rubbing. It is thin, and runny, as other reviewers have pointed out, but when you're in a hurry to get the baby in his jammies you don't want a thick lotion that needs a lot of coaxing to absorb. The smell is nice and light--i love sniffing his jammies after he's had this lotion on all night!--but not cloying like so many baby lotions.

I like this lotion. It looked a little thin but moisturizes very well and soothes sensitive skin. I'm not crazy about the smell though. At first it was fine, now it's a bit too sweet but I care more about it's performance than it's scent. Otherwise a great moisturizer that's so gentle and the bottle's cute too. Way to go Burt!

so nice! it's light but very moisturizing, and it smells lovely - not overbearing at all, very sweet and innocent. it's not the type of scent to give you a headache. i'd give this a try!

EDIT: i know i just submitted this review, but after a while, that "not overbearing" comment...not so much. it got to be too sweet and i had to wash my hands. BUT a coworker had the new, lighter-formulation lotion, let me use it, and it is sooooo much better! to people who have tried this before and didn't like it, try it again now! it's really great.

The smell isn't nice, but the lotion works great on itchy skin. I had an allergic reaction with my Toporol and the sun and this is the only lotion that helped the itching. I had a trial pack on hand and tried the carrot, and the baby lotion, but the buttermilk is the only one that worked.

While this is definitely scented, I didn't find the scent to be overbearing, I kind of like it. It is a rather thin lotion, but it doesn't leave me sticky (a pet peeve) and I like its "slip", so overall, this is a winner for me. Not much to dislike, in my opinion at least, so I'd say this is worth checking out.

I hated this lotion. I tried a sample one day at a store and the smell was so overpowering that I had to open all of the car windows and air it out after I put some on my hands. It was runny and greasy/sticky and didn't absorb for a very long time. Yuck.

This is my favourite body lotion right now. Actually it was intended for a friend but it somehow opened in transit ,so I decided to use it and I love it. I find that it offers me the perfect level of moisture, it comes in a convenient pump bottle and is of a rather thin, runny consistency that absorbs very quickly. It's great as it doesn't leave your skin sticky and clammy the way Kiehls or most body butters do. The smell seems strong at first but fades quickly, if you have super dry, flakey skin like mine make sure to dry body brush first then shower and apply lotion. This exfoliates your skin and makes the lotion sink in nicely . Finally I have smooth ,shiny legs without the hassle of super heavy creams or treatments (though I am still fond of 'KIss My Face's' Alpha & Aloe Oil Free - it just takes ages to absorb) yay!

I think this might be reformulated with a lighter scent? I tried this recently and was pleasantly surprised because the somewhat heavy fragrance I remembered seems to have lightened up. At any rate, I find this to be a good moisturizer with a nice, sweet and buttery scent. I've used it as a facial moisturizer with no problem. It's all natural too. I also like the milk & honey lotion by Burt's Bees! :)

I bought this for my 2nd daughter when she was a baby. She has very sensitive skinand would get little red bumps on her arms. This cleared up her skin and smells so yummy. All 3 kids use it and so do I.
