WAYY overpriced for something that doesn't even work! I have oily hair and this shampoo SEEMED to make a difference the first few times I used it. Now, I take showers every other day using this shampoo and I see NO difference. I'm still on my quest for the best shampoo to treat oily hair, and I think I'll stick to regular brands (ie, Garnier Fructis).

I really, really like this shampoo so far (one week in).

I bought it after reading the reviews here on MUA and am really pleased.

My hair gets oily quickly and was beginning to get itchy and my other shampoos started to feel like they weren't cleaning my hair properly.

This helps keep the oil at bay just that little bit longer than other shampoos (i wash my hair every two days) and leaves my scalp feeling very clean and fresh.

It also tingles and leaves me feeling very refreshed!

A great clarifying shampoo. Very refreshing. I love how it clears up build up residue and excess oil from my scalp. I lather the product in the hair and work it into the scalp. Then I let it sit for a minute to get the cool tingly effect from the menthol. I like to use this shampoo when my hair feels greasy, or when I need to wake up in the morning.

I use Redken's All-Soft Shampoo and Conditioner everyday. I only use the Tea Tree Shampoo once a week because daily use dries out my hair and make my hair color fade faster. For once a week use, the bottle lasts a very long time but I will continue to repurchase when I run out.

This stuff in some ways is pretty impressive.
It feels so, so good on my skin...very refreshing...it cleans the hair well and everything but I'm weary about using it regularly because I'm afraid it will dry me out.

I've used this stuff to wash my face and as a spot treatment on pimples. But if I put this on my face and leave it on all night (silly me), the skin gets red and irritated. It's strong stuff.

My aunt who was visiting used this in the shower and some of the lather got onto her face...she liked the feeling so she rubbed it around, and said that it seemed to tighten up her pores and what not. She really liked it, and I gave her some to take back home. Her daughter was getting married and had some bad breakouts from stress and hormones (she was pregnant). She used it to cleanse her face for a couple weeks and said it saved her complexion, she looked great on her wedding day.

So, if you aren't too sensitive, this shampoo can have a multitude of uses.

My boyfriend uses this and I "tested" it extensively. ;) Tea tree shampoo in general is great because:

-Tea tree oil can clear up breakouts both on your face and body when the suds wash over you, and at the very least will definitely not make you break out on face/body like some shampoos can
-Supposedly it helped my boyfriend's dandruff. I don't have dandruff, but his does seem better.

Things I like about Paul Mitchell's:
-The most tingly feeling of any shampoo I've tried, I mean it REALLY packs a punch! The cool tingly feeling really wakes you up and just feels nice
-Defnitely helped my face/bacne when my other shampoo broke it out
-Definitely made my oily hair less oily at first and stripped out some gunky products that weighed it down

Things I don't like:
-The price/only available at salon
-Bottle too hard to get product out of when low
-This started REALLY drying out my hair after a long period of extended use, so I had to switch to a more moisturizing shampoo for a while and use moisturizing treatments. Weird for me because my hair is normally oily.

I've tried the Nature's Gate tea tree line and I want to try the Giovanni's. This Paul Mitchell one is the stronger of the two between Nature's Gate. Overall I would have to go with Nature's Gate because it doesn't dry out my hair with extended use and is cheaper but still has all the benefits I want. My boyfriend likes this one because of his dandruff, though. If you have scaly scalp, oily scalp, dandruff, oily hair, acne or really any ailemnt of the scalp or near the scalp, give tea tree oil shampoos a try. This Paul Mitchell one is really strong if you need super tea tree. I would recommend buying it for your guy and occasionally using it when you really need some oil-zapping, zit-zapping clarifying action! ;)

Hearing great reviews on this shampoo, i really wanted to like this, but it just didn't work for my hair. It felt as if it was stripping out my natural oils in my hair ending up with dry, knotting hair. Even with following up with a moisturizing shampoo, it still didnt work for my hair. I would not repurchase.

I tried this in order to help get rid of my scalp bumps. Unfortunately, I don't feel like this has solved the problem, but at least it's refreshing. It has menthol in it, so it tingles when you lather it up. It doesn't dry out my hair or leave a weird residue like other shampoos, so I'd definitely buy it again. The smell is clean--not anything memorable though. You don't get very much for what you pay, though, with the standard size bottle, and it doesn't lather as easily as other shampoos. Overall, though, I love the tingle and the way it makes my hair feel, so until I find something better, I'm sticking with this.

I can't complain about the price, I pay my mom after she gets them half price at beauty supply. I highlighted my thick oily straight hair a few months ago and had to start using conditioner. Since then I've been battling acne all over my scalp, like big painful cyst-like pimples. Even my usual clarifying shampoo couldn't clear it up, and ended up flaking my scalp around the acne riddled patches. My mom said I should just try good old Paul Mitchell Tea Tree which has been around at least 20 years since I was a little kid and my mom was in beauty school. It's a FANTASTIC fall back for anyone with dandruff/scalp ailments. Within a week my scalp started clearing up and the dead skin started to slough off. That was gross, but now 4 weeks later my scalp is nearly normal again! PLUS I even got a very small bottle of the Tea Tree conditioner so I could put a pea sized drop on my ends to de-tangle, and it didn't cause a breakout, scalp or back!

I went to get my hair cut once and the stylist saw that my hair was on the dry side, so she gave me this shampoo to cure the dryness. Um, this shampoo just dried my hair out even further! The minty feeling is quite invigorating and I have to say my hair was quite shiny, but unfortunately the dryness couldn't be overlooked. If you tend to have dry hair you might not want to look into this product.

This is a mainstay in my shower (along with the conditioner, Nature's Gate Tea Tree Oil Shampoo and The Body Shop's ginger shampoo). I usually rotate the shampoos everytime I shower.

I have thick & curly hair that is around shoulder length, plus pretty bad seborrhic dermatitis. A combination of the above products really helps the buildup I experience and the forehead breakouts. I buy the mini version of this usually, since it takes awhile to even get through that size. I think I've had it for 3 months and I still haven't used it up! Very very minty and invigorating! However, be very careful. This stings horribly if you get it in your eyes, which is why I gave it 4 lippies instead of 5. Will repurchase, though I have to be a bit more careful.

I can't think of enough good things to say about this shampoo..LUV IT! It has been a staple in my bathroom for years because it's such a great multitasker. I utilize this stuff for everything including, but not limited too, a clarifying shampoo, invigorating body wash, facial cleanser (add a little aspirin and makes a great scrub - see reviews on the aspirin mask for more detail), shave gel, zit zapper, healing ointment for cuts..The list goes on and on. You will not be dissapointed with this one!

Clean and invigorating--that's all I can say about this friggin' amazing shampoo. I recommend leaving it in your hair for a bit so it penetrates into your scalp more. Love it!!!

This is a very refreshing and invigorating shampoo. If you are looking for a shampoo for your man (because your tired of him using yours; or not using any at all) then this is usually a sure bet (but then you might end up using his!). I first discovered this years ago when I was in Cosmetology School. This was the favored shampoo among my clients (young and old), for its tingling qualities and great scent. Now, my husband, having tried it, is begging for more. In short, I would say this is a great all around shampoo for normal hair. It leaves you with a very clean feeling; great for morning showers or afternoon pick-me-ups. It is not my normal shampoo (my hair needs more moisture) but it is my husband's favorite and I find myself "borrowing" it often. Give it a try, you shouldn't be disappointed.

I really wanted to like this Shampoo, I love most everything else I've used from Paul Mitchell, but this does nothing for my dandruff. I love the smell and how it feels on my scalp, but it doesn't solve the problem that I bought it for. As soon as I started using Head & Shoulders again, my dandruff has pretty much cleared up.

I think I just found my HG... I was a huge Biolage fan, however, I'm battling a mild case of seasonal dandruff and itchy scalp and thought I would give this a try. After using a dandruff shampoo for a while with no results, this one surprised me! Its not technically a druff shampoo, but tea tree is an antifungal and I've read that tea tree poos can really help. I used this once and my flakes were gone!!! Not to mention my hair is the shiniest its EVER been (and I might add that my hair is quite healthy despite being coloured, its just scalp issues) and my hair is so SOFT! I'm in awe. In shock really! I didn't expect it to be so AMAZING. The only thing I'm rating it low on is the insane price. I live in Canada and its $15 for a 10 oz bottle :( However, with my results I DONT CARE!!!!!!!!

This shampoo came recommended by a stylist for flaking, but I’ve found it to be a nice, invigorating, clarifying shampoo. It has a strong mint smell, which I don’t mind, it wakes me up in the morning. On my scalp, the shampoo tingles. It is very gentle, but it gets my thick, coarse hair clean; I have had no problems with dry flaking when I wash with this shampoo three to four times a week. It is a little expensive, but a little amount goes a long way.

UPDATE: This shampoo has become very stripping and dries my hair. After I finish up my current bottle, I will not buy again.

I have been using Paul Mitchell Tea tree shampoo and conditioner 10.14 oz once a day for 1.5 months. I have oily, thick hair that must be washed w/in 24 hrs from the last wash and I get dandruff. This shampoo and conditioner leaves my hair soft, manageable, and NOT oily plus the dandruff is gone. I would definitely purchase this set again. I just wish that the price was less expensive.
