Cons: hard to find sometimes (most beauty supply stores don't carry a lot of NYX products)

I haven't purchased a NYX eye shadow in so long, but I recently re-visited my local beauty supply store and picked this up because I really needed a good black eye shadow. This is amazing! NYX has such amazing quality at affordable prices. I love how dark this is and definitely prefer this one over my MAC. Love love love!

Would repurchase.

I used to be a MAC eye shadow fan until I accidentally discovered NYX from another reviewer. This black is the darkest black I've ever seen and much darker than MAC's carbon. I used to wear gel eyeliner but I now use this to line my eyes. It stays put and never smears, but the best part is that by doing this it reduces the number of products I own. Did I mention that it's very pigmented and has a smooth texture? Goodbye MAC, hello NYX!

This is the only thing in my make-up bag that I've been committed to. It's AMAZING - It last a long time and always stay true to its color. It has a very decent amount of pigments. It goes on a really nice black and easy to control how dark you want it to look.. I use this EVERY time I go out, and I've had it for over 1-1/2. It last SOO long! Plus, I love the little packaging. I would definitely recommended this to EVERYBODY.

I love this eyeshadow, however, it doesn't show up as black when you try to line your eyes, which is pretty sad because I thought it could be a quicker alternative for school, etc. I love using this for smokey eyes (in the crease) and setting my eyeliners. Overall, a very basic black and intense eyeshadow. Very well pigmented and comparable to MAC in Carbon.

This is a good, basic black. It's matte and not shimmery at all. It's so easy to pick up this stuff! A little dip with your brush is all you need. And it's cheap. You can't go wrong with this purchase, unless you never use black. Ever.

I got this shade in my first ever NYX / Cherry Culture haul about a year or so ago, and it's been my go to matte black ever since! It's so pigmented (especially when applied wet like I love to do) and not chalky at all, blends well if you don't want such a harsh deep black, long lasting.

I would for sure recommend this to anyone who wants a good cheep matte black shadow, because they are hard to come by in the drugstore in a matte formulation.

I got this on sale a while back. Maybe I got an old one or someting because mine came off chalky and not very pigmented. I prefer MACs carbon or HC liqourice when I want glitter with my black. It was cheap in price but you get what you pay for. I also broke it to use it as a loose shadow hoping the color would come out darker and smoother but it doesnt compare to my higher end blacks- threw it in the trash..

THE best black e/s EVER. Pigmentation is ridiculous. I use this as either a brow powder (which I have to tap the excess off like crazy), e/l or e/s. Completely matte. Fabulous product.

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!! I have an oily complexion but this shadow stays put for the whole day!!! Easy to work with love who pigmented it is and it is one of the blackest eye shadows I have come across. Really good product and not pricey at all!!! I use it either wet or dry and works like a pro either way! Totally in love with this eyeshadow!!

Hands down the BEST black eyeshadow out there...I would say it definitely gives Mac's Carbon a run for its money ( I have both). Overall it is an extremely pigmented black, and works great for lining or creating the perfect smokey eye.

Defenitely my HG black eyeshadow! It's just perfect =) Really really really pigmented, blendable, long lasting. It's perfect for smokey eyes which I absolutely love. My search for THE perfect black eyeshadow has ended here.

I love NYX products especially their eyeshadows! I had to re-purchase a second one because I dropped mine, luckily it was closed, but it shattered and was way too messy. But boy is this black eyeshadow sooo pigmented holy cow! It's everything a true black eyeshadow should be! I paid $3.99 at Ulta for this. This is my HG for black eyeshadow!

This stuff is amazing. I decided to try it b/c of all the good reviews, and I was not disappointed. I use it as a liner daily, and it's exactly what I've been looking for in a black eyeshadow. It's super black and rich looking, and I like it way more than mac's carbon black. It's incredibly cheap for such a great product. I bought it in a trio with white and gray, and I didn't care for the other two at all.

Yep, I couldn't have asked for a more pigmented, soft and super blendable black eyeshadoe. I was considering going to the MAC store and get Carbon because I thought that is the blackest eyeshadow I could possibly get. Guess What? I dont have to because I got the baddest black eyeshadow I could ask for without breaking the bank! I absolutely love this. I felt my makeup collection really came together with this purchase.

This black shadow is perfect for me.
***I use it as a liner with my liner brush
*** I blend it in with blue, purple or green shadow!
I have used the same little pan for more than a year now, it does not dry out or cake, it blends really smooth, like the high quality kind of shadow you would buy at Sephora.

POTENT BLACK!!!!! I just bought this and i have never seen a blacker black!!! i tried this as a crease shade last night (i always test products together at night so that i dont end up with any makeup mishaps in the morning!) and this was amazing! this is definitely for bolder night looks, but the color is just gorgeous! this looks great coupled with a dark purple or a grey, there are so many possibilities! i will probably only use this as a crease shade, not an all over lid color :P love NYX!

Hands down, THE BEST BLACK. I got the last one several months ago and haven't seen one back in stock since - it is that popular! I think this is a great alternative for people who don't want to do black eyeliner but still want to experiment with black. It is also an excellent way to "deepen" the color of any shadow. If you can find one of these, buy it!
