I bought this duo at least two years ago when a "friend" of mine over-waxed my used-to-be thick brows. I was in Ulta purchasing some other Smashbox products and the SA suggested I try this in Taupe. She filled them in for me, and I was pleasantly suprised! It has taken two years to regrow my brows to where I don't really need this anymore BUT I still love it and use it any time I leave the house wearing makeup. It really ties in the final look. The taupe looks natural against my medium/olive skin and strawberry blonde hair. I wish I could just buy the shadow because I have hardly made a dent in the wax. It has a tendancy to make my brows look too dark and shiny, using even the smallest amount. Definitely give this a try!! I just ran out of the shadow and wear this almost daily. Anyone know a substitute for the taupe shadow? The complementary brush works wonderfully, too.

I'm a person who will not leave my house without my eyebrows drawn on and this product is perfect me. It stays on all day and it last forever!

i love the color -i have brunette and it is a pretty good match for me ... as long as i don't apply too much. i have never used a wax before - and am pretty darn impressed.
however - putting a screw on lid onto such a small container is ridiculous. i have owned this product for about a week and have already lost the lid. they should make it a flip top like MAC single eye shadows!

First off, I have platinum blonde hair and I have Blonde in brow tech. This really defines my eyebrows and the powder makes them look soft. I think sometimes this color is a tad too dark. In the pan it looks like a beautiful wheat color but when I apply to my eyebrows it looks almost like a taupe or a brown/blonde. If I apply this very lightly then it looks okay but if I put too much on then it looks dark. The eyebrow brush that came with this is great at applying. Its really easy too. Lasts all day! I really want to try ash blonde. Does anyone know of a good eyebrow color for platinum blonde hair? I find most are too dark. I just wish this was a tad lighter.

I've been using this in brunette for several years now. I used to only use this; but have now been using maybelline define-a-brow in conjunction with this. I use this to add a bit more color & for the wax side to set the brows. It's a little pricey; but will last you a very long time.

I've searched high and low for a good match for my eyebrows. Most look either too dark or too red. I use this in Ash Blonde and it's perfect! I apply with a soft angled brush and it goes on beautifully and looks so natural. I don't even use the wax.
It's expensive though and if I could find a MAC eyeshadow that matched this, I'd switch to the MAC shadow.

I ordered tihs in taupe from strawberry.net b/c my sister swears by it and her brows always look great. I used an E.L.F. hard angled brush to apply and then brush the wax on to set. The results, first time, were OK but a little too dark on me (I applied too much). There's a learning curve with the product and I think it took 4 or 5 applications before it became easy to use. My brows are thinning at the ends so filling them in is trickly. I am not sure that I will repurchase - it's pretty pricey for eyebrow enhancement and I'm not in love with the wax. But I do think my brows look pretty good with Smashbox and maybe by the end of the pot, it'll be HG for me.

I've had an on-again, off-again love affair with this product - and I'm going through an on-again phase. Let me tell you why:
Perfectly natural but filled-in eyebrows! I've used many, many brow products (examples: Chanel's Sculpting brow pencil, Benefit's Brow Zing, Maybelline's Expert Eyes, MAC's automatic eyebrow pencil, etc.) and have recently decided that my current favored eyebrow product (MAC's pencil) just looks too harsh if I don't spend a lot of time perfecting them. Most pencils (like MAC's and Chanel's) can be too soft for my tastes, depositing too much color at once so I can't get those super-thin lines that simulate hair. This makes the overall look kind of harsh, as I have more color deposited in one area than would be natural... of course, this can be mitigated with a spoolie, a brush, and clear mascara, but with all the other makeup I have to do on the rest of my face, come on! Save me the work! In other words, these methods are not fool-proof.
Used correctly, I think this product is truly fool-proof. Recently, the brow powder side hit pan and then suddenly broke in my makeup bag, which was not a happy day for me. The positive side of this was that the remaining brow powder mixed in with the remaining wax (and as others have noted, the wax goes much faster than the powder), so I have a dark-brown colored wax that is perfect and SO EASY to apply to my sparse areas with my MAC 208 brush. I can't tell you how happy I am that my brow powder broke.
So from now on, I'm just buying the wax.I'm asian and the brow powder colors were never perfect for me - I got Brunette, which can have a slight (very slight, but still) reddish tinge to it if overapplied. Overapplication is not a problem when the powder and wax mixes together, so from now I'll be buying the Smashbox Wax and a MAC eyeshadow that matches my hair separately, shaving some powder into the wax, mixing together, and applying.

I got this is a kit and i LOVE it. I have auburn, because I'm a redhead but my brows arent really that red, and auburn is too red. The color of the powder sticks out really bad. So I couldnt really use enough to make a difference in my brows. Luckily I also had Blonde from a different kit sitting around that I had never tried, I thought I'm a redhead why would Blonde work?...I'm so glad I finally tried it, it's color is like a medium taupe. Works excellent for me and it really makes all the difference in the world to be using the right color...love love love! The wax is great too and when I run out of that I just use clear mascara over the powder.

I love the "idea" of this. But I could never find a color that would work on me. I have light brows, but they are ash, not golden. For some reason, this line thinks that if you have lighter brows that they must be a golden color. Ugh. The wax was nice, held them in place on crazy brow days. i have moved on however...Also, I wish Smashbox would get a clue and make their packaging different. I hate the screw off lids as I always misplace them. I wish they would use a flip top package for everything!

I retract my previous review of this product. Previously I complained that it was powdery, that you needed to apply wet and the brown wasnt suitable for my skin tone etc. I also said the brush wasnt easy to work with as it was quite bristly.
I have persevered with this product and am pleased to say that I have mastered a technique that works well for me. I apply the wax and the dark brown powder and gently feather over my brows, I keep doing this to get the right amount of colour and fill over the brows and the plus is that it stays in place as the wax wets the powder and it all stays on and well groomed.

This product is great! I got it in Soft Brown. I just lightly brush over my eye brows (I have eye brows, just need to fill in) and I am done. Remember to go light at first. I don't really have much use of the wax though. I wish they sell just the powder and not the wax with it. If they sell the wax on its own, why not the powder? Do people use that much wax on their brow? I would definitely recommend having a SA try the color on you first. If I didn't have the SA help me, I would have not gotten Soft Brown. Even though it seems light online and even in the actual product, it is just the perfect color!

i have this in a little trio with a dark color, a taupey color, and the wax. i've been using the taupe daily as a fill in powder and it matches PERFECTLY and i love it for that. however, i don't like the wax at all. it doesn't hold my brows in place that well and i just don't like the way it feels.
i doubt i'll repurchase this. the color is a perfect match and i'd come back just for that, but i can probably find it elsewhere. i'm new to filling in my brows so i have no doubt there are other brands that can match as well. i feel like the wax is sort of the point of this product and i really dislike it, so why bother repurchasing.

I never payed any attention to my eyebrows until a got a cut on my face that left a scar where now lucky me..the hair wont grow back. I bought brow tech and it looks so natural!
The wax could be a little thicker to hold hairs in place but def. sticks the color on until you go to wash it off.
I Recommend :)

I have never really paid much attention to my brows before I used this product. I have tried brow pencils in the past and they all looked so fake. It came on a Smashbox palatte that I received for Christmas, and I am so glad it did or I might not have ever tried it. It fills my brows in and still looks natural! I use a little touch of the wax to tame them and viola - perfect brows. It lasts all day too, so I never have to worry about it. It is amazing what a huge difference this makes.

I love this product. I sort of have an obsession with my brows, they just never seem to look they way that I want them too so I have bought TONS of brow products. This one is the only one that I feel looks natural on me. I think that the wax is a great consistancy it holds your brows in place but does not give that shiny or waxy look. Also I am very dark headed and fair skined so my brows can start looking pretty fierce really quick. I think that this brow powder is just pigmented enough to get the job done.

This is an excellent brow powder. It gives a very natural defined look. I use Brunette and it is a little lighter than what I usually use (Lorac's Take a Brow in Dark Brown which is still my holy grail). It defines the eyes very nicely.
