I use this on damp hair and then blowdry while curling with a round brush to give my hair a soft wave that flows in the same direction. The gel seems to work pretty well. Only thing is, it feels crunchy if I don't brush my hair afterwards (which kills some of the wave but not all of it), and if I use it near my scalp, it makes my hair look greasy.

This i a great product to combine with other products. I use this usually after i use the curl construct mousse or the hard curl gel. I apply the gel or mouse when i get out of the shower then i use this spray after it has air dried a little then i blow dry it. Its a great combination for my wavy long hair.

Love this. I am still looking for the one perfect product, but this certainly does the job for now. Currently I combine this with TiGi Curls Rock Curl Amplifier. I put on the Amplifier first and then spray with this to set. Works great on my thick wavy coarse hair.

I actually like how this looked - nice bouncy, frizz-free, defined curls, but for some reason (and this has never happened with another Garnier product) I had a bad scalp reaction. I tried it twice and both times my scalp got really itchy and burned really bad. Had to throw it out ;(

i love this stuff! my waist-length, thick hair is nothing but waves. when i want to go straight, i flat iron. when i want to go curly, i add this to WET hair and rub/scrunch in very well, and air dry (otherwise it dries in clumps that look alot like dandruff) i get soft sexy curls when i use this. classic garnier smell. the sprayer gets clogged though, i sometimes i need to run warm water over it. other than that this stuff is awesome!

I really liked this because it made my hair look shiny. However, it also weighed down my curls and left some frizz. I didn't like this because it made my hair so sticky to the touch and I felt like it created tons of buildup in my hair. I couldn't even run my fingers through my hair - I felt like my hair was disgusting and that I had the need to wash it right away. The spray bottle is a nice concept, but it was also kind of hard to spray sometimes because I guess the product built up in it. I also felt like I had to use a ton of it each time just so my hair would have even coverage of the product.

At first I really liked this, but I really did not want to wear my hair curly. I was using Ouidad Heat and Humidity gel before I discoverd this. But now Pantene Comb In Strengthening Start Moisturing will replace this. And I agree with another reviewer about the bottle. UPDATE: 1/2007- I no longer use this. I now use L'Oreal new Studio Tightly Wound Curl Spray Gel.

First of all, I hope I'm reviewing the right product, as for this is called Fructis Style Curl Forming Water here in Croatia (country of origin - Germany). I hated Garnier's Surf Paste, but this worked, if even a bit. I've tried many many similar products, and they didn't really enhance my natural wave (2a on www.naturallycurly), some of them even straightened my hair out (read: J. Frieda curvaceous blonde curl spray). This one does some good things to my waves, however (as usual), there are always minuses, since your hair does get schrunchy, and dry (I use TiGi After Party to solve that), but it holds. Not an HG status (only discontinued Ocean Waves came close, as it made my hair full of soft and coconut-smelling curl wonder *sniff*), but better than more expensive brands or many other drugstore products. EDIT: This sucks in comparison with JF Starlit Waves, so I'm takng one lippie down.

Like any other hair product, I usually end up rotating because of build up which leads to lack of effectiveness. This will work one time realy great, and then not another. Going to try John Frieda ocean effects instead.

I like the strong hold that this gel gives, but it makes my hair feel dry. Because it does give my curls more definition than usual and a lot more control, I will repurchase. Because it does make the texture of my hair dry, I would not, however, consider this to be the ultimate product for my coarse hair.

I was kind of disappointed after using this product. I searched through Productville trying to find a good product for curls, and this one seemed to have extremely high reviews when compared to the other curly hair gels/creams/etc. For me, this stuff didn't not give enough definition or frizz control to my hair. It wasn't horrible, but not great either. I don't really like "crunchy" hair that you get from using heavy gels, but this stuff just didn't provide enough definition, although my hair was touchable and not crunchy. Also, I had to use about 1/8 of the bottle just to get enough product through my hair even thoug my hair is only about shoulder length. It's not expensive, but when I have to use that much, it's kind of ridiculous. I don't want to have to Wal-mart every weekend to pick up a bottle, and at that rate, I guess it would get sort of expensive. Probably won't pick this up again.

I have medium-long, medium-thick, wavy/curly hair that tends to get oily around the roots and bangs (probably due to my oilygreasy forehead, lol). I have found the best way to use this product without getting greasy, and without it taking forever for my hair to dry, is to dry my hair with a diffuser until it is about 65-70% dry, THEN spray and scrunch this into my hair, and finish drying. Cuts drying time down, doesn't make your hair too oily, and, as a plus, it doesn't leave your hair crunchy or sticky, like a lot of gels can.

This is the best spray gel I have yet to find. My hair is naturally curly and very thick and I usually just spritz it with this and go to bed and let it air dry, when I wake up I have perfect, unfrizzy waves. I was amazed that it kept frizz down even after sleeping. The gel doesnt make the curls in my hair all hard and stiff like most spray gels, but soft and flexable with lots of hold. The packaging is great, I figured the spray nozzle thing would get clogged from the gel and be hard to spray but I have had no problems with this. I will certinaly purchase again!

Ok im a huge fan of the Fructis line, and this product works too. But I will not buy it ever again because its so impossible to get it to spray out of the bottle. The gel is thick and barely comes out. I had to use two hands to spray it or put it on a hard surface and then press down on it while trying to aim it at my hair. I ended up just taking off the top and using the gel. But its definately not as good of a gel as the hard curl gel they make, (less hold). If I could get it out of the bottle in a nice mist spray it would be great. But after the bottle is done (by opening the top and using globs) i wont be repurchasing.

This spray gel is the best i've ever used! It works by itself very good. But, I prefer to spray it on after use Beyond the Zone's Noodle Head curl cream. Together, they work wonders on my hair. I have past-the-shoulders- thick curly/wavy hair. When I use both products, my hair is curly with ZERO frizz. I can for once wear my hair down and curly all day without it frizzing. I used to only be able to leave it down for a couple hrs. with other products.

I discovered this about 18 months ago browsing through the drugstore and it's been my stalwart ever since. I have long curly/wavy hair (think Julia Roberts without straightening) that frizzes up at the slightest provocation. But a moderate spritzing of this stuff on towel-dried hair and I'm good to go. I can let it air-dry or do the diffuse/scrunch thing. It lets my hair curl beautifully without getting crunchy or greasy. My HG of wet-hair product! I just hope my hair doesn't start rejecting it like so many other awesome products...

Edited to add that my two brothers (also curlyheads) and my mother (frizzy, which she straightens) borrowed this on vacation and they all loved it.

At first I did not like this product AT ALL. I have long, thick, really wavy hair that frizzes easily and finding products for when I'm playing up the wavy/curliness is not easily. I just sort of sprayed this in at first, and wasn't happy with the results. Now I use this one of two ways: on days when I 'm not going to blow dry, I spray this on my hands and work it through my hair, scrunching my hair as I go. When it dries, it tends to dry in lovely waves and curls. I also use it when I'm going to roll my damp hair for more controlled curls. It works either way. Also? The apple smell is great, and Garnier's quality is unbelievable at the price of $3.

I really like this. It controls my medium-thick wavy hair while adding shine. It defines my waves and makes my hair just look good overall. I would recommend it.

Note: I compared this with the ingredients of my shake effect liqui-gel (extra strong hold) and they are identical. I am guessing they just has different concentrations of ingredients because this is slightly more watery.

I have tried other curling sprays such as Pantene curl gel, Tigi Cat Rocks Curls cream, Beyond the Zone curl cream, etc. (creams don't give me enough hold)... I keep coming back to this Fructis curl gel spray. I think it's the best stuff I've used in my naturally wavy sometimes frizz prone. I've also tried the newest Fructis curl gel for hard to curl hair - really keeps the frizzies away, but I think their older spray gel version works better for my hair for extra curl.

Okay, please ignore any other hair product review I've written. This is my new (and hopefully last) love that does a miraculous job on my wavy, pouf-y more so than frizzy, rebelous shoulder length hair. I use it during humid August days and dry winter days with the same great effect : smooth, loose curls and waves with just the right amount of hold so that the style lasts virtually all day without any of that dreaded "crunch". Also adds a ton of shine. If it's a hot humid day, yes, i will spray directly on my hair with my head upside down, but on the average non-humid day, I find that spraying into the palms, emulsifying and then distributing it in the hair is the most effective method to get desired results. Available almost everywhere internationally for around $3.00. loooove it;)
