Good acne reducing product!! After a week, I saw a huge difference! This product will dry you out a little so you must wear a moisturizer.

I hate this stuff. I used it in high school. It worked for about four months than completely stopped working. By that time I had signed up to get it in the mail automatically which was a huge mistake. I thought I wad maybe having a bad month. So by the time I figured out It was no longer going to work at all I had a couple of full unopened packages. Its expensive $40. It just does not work. Every time I see the infomercial I get mad and they put ads in a lot my catalogs. I wonder how many of those people it still works for or if it ever worked for them. I know those celebrities get paid like a million or two to be on them. I guess if someone offered me that much money I say it worked too. I know a lot of people who tried it. All of them said it did not work. Its a huge waste of money. If you have acne go to a dermatologist. That is what I did and my skin is clear now. If you have insurance it is cheaper to go to a dermatologist than to buy this crap. Plus you will have way more luck at a dermatologist.

The 3 step program is wonderful, but the repairing lotion is the best! The cleanser is good, the toner bleahhk, and the repairing lotion is the best. I have oily skin so this sucks up the oil, and is not drying at all! So if you have been breaking out routinely, try this, it might work!

***I'm writing this review for the Proactiv 3 step system (which includes this repairing lotion), aince I cant find the whole system in MUA to review. ***
Ok so this was my first time using the 3 step system and.. i absolutely HATED it... i now HATE proactiv after what this system did to my skin!! I have extremely oily skin and occasionally get breakout. I always have blemishes from past acne. Recently, I started breaking out and I thought I would gte Proactiv before things got worse. I know two people who swears by this stuff so I thought it was a miracle worker. When I started using the system, I was completely mortified! It was horrible for my skin. It made me breakout SO badly.. my skin has never been worse! I never had severe acne until using these products! I am so disapointed in Proactiv.. I used the system for about 3 weeks before I decided I could deal with the effects any longer.. it completely dried up my OILY skin! It made my skin peel and appear completely dry! It made ,e breakout so badly, I couldnt smile without my face being in pain! I am NOT kiding.. this stuff was like a nightmare.
The repairing lotion was probably the worst part of the system. It made my face sting with pain.. It was so painful I was in tears everytime I used this stuff.
Overall, Proactiv was very very harsh for me and I have never had sensitive/dry skin in the past. It made my skin look horrible and now I am trying cheaper products to get rid of the acne this system caused.

I was using the proactiv system for 4 years and then decided to stop because of the aging affects
my skin blew up!! but i worked through it .. and its less horrible now but still not as it was on proactiv
anyways now i use cetaphil oily skin cleanser , and then i pop some of this lotion only on my chin area and around my nose where i get break outs
its helps to prevent and clear up my acne
i always use a really good moisturizer on top to and sunscreen .

Can't believe I got caught again by Proactiv! It doesn't work, at least for me, I just don't see any improvement or results with this product.

I have used this stuff on and off for a few years now. I only used the whole Proactiv system for about 6 months post partum. But long after the cleanser and toner were done, I kept buying this. I did try to leave BPO and search for a more gentle preventive measure. (Please keep in mind I don't have severe acne, mostly monthly ones popping up, but they linger). However, since going back to this, I have had my first month of no zits popping up. My skin looks so good again (smooth, flawless). I do see how this can be drying, but I only use it once a day under a moisturizer. I am still using the old formulation. I know they have repackaged & reformulated, but I don't know if it affected the ingredients in the Repairing Lotion...I hope not. I do like this stuff for keeping my clear. I went months on other BPO treatments, salycitic acid products and kept getting pimples...regardless of how diligent I was with application. Using this once a day and one month into this again and my skin looks GOOD! I have normal to dry skin.

I have used this with and without the Proactiv system on and off for about ten years. I too, have been on pretty much everything for acne and always have to see what works and when. This product works well, but can be drying. Now that I'm just a couple months from my 40th b-day, I see that this could potentially be a bigger problem than it was earlier when I used it. The best thing I did for my face was go through the Obagi Nu-Derm process for 16 weeks, then I maintain with Proactiv - specifically, the combo of this and the toner work wonders. I do like the green tea moisturizer, but prefer to use Laura Geller's spackle (her newest basic version drys much faster than it used to). I put that on after my repairing lotion has soaked in and then put on my foundation. I am a happy camper for now. Hope this helps someone.

This stuff ruined my skin. It made me break out the first time after using it. It took a good week for my skin to recover. It also gets very pricey. I could not believe what it did to my skin.

The Proactiv 3 step system worked temporarily for me but my skin is sensitive and could not handle it. Like most products, it seemed to work for the first week or so but failed me soon later. However, I really liked this repairing lotion, and even after I stopped using the cleanser/toner/etc, I sitll used this product occasionally when I had lots of breakouts.
So my skin was acting up again, and I used my trusty lotion, applying it to all the problem areas. The next day I awoke and I looked like a clown. My cheeks were burning red as well as all the other areas I applied it to. . . and I had to go to school and present a speech. I don't wear makeup, and thought it would clear up. In the past I had encountered redness before but never to this degree. Well, for at least 12 hours the redness did not clear and I suffered through a day of embarrassment hiding my face. However... I will say that it did clear up a lot of the acne, but I don't think it was worth it. Right now, it is two days later, and there is still a teeny bit of redness that I don't think is going to go away. Maybe I will use this product when I am home alone all day, but I am not happy with how Proactiv treats sensitive skin like mine.

I'm so thankful for this lotion. The Proactiv three-step kit caught my eye when I first saw it on Tv. I ordered it and it was one of the best decisions I made. I wouldn't have survived my pimply teenage years if not for Proactiv, especially if not for the repairing lotion. Even though benzoyl peroxide is an oxidant that is pretty harsh on the skin and it did give me a few wrinkles since I never once bothered to apply moisturiser in all my teenage years(yeah that's a real dufus) but I'm sure it wouldn't have been that bad if I did. I would say this lotion deserves 5 lippies!

Ok so I have used this multiple times in the past and I didn't want to leave a review here without some fresh perspective.
Last night I washed my face with the PanOxyl 10% BP bar, then I slathered this Proactiv lotion ALL over my face. Let's just say within 10 minutes my cheeks (which never break out) were on FIRE. Very sensitive area I guess because I never treat it.
So I swiped the lotion off my cheeks and left the rest of my face covered. In the morning the 3 blemishes I was so upset about were nearly gone!! And the night before, I was certain they weren't going anywhere no matter what I did! Pretty good results, I'd say!
I do not suffer from problem skin but I definitely get mild breakouts from time to time due to BCP use. I find that the Proactiv system works pretty well (not great!) However, for the price and only 3 steps I like the line!
My mother has always recommended a 2x monthly BP regimen to remove dead surface skin and blemishes. She has wonderful skin, though she now uses Retin A. I find BP works just as well as a glycolic peel when used this way!
If you are new to Proactiv, use the system in its entirety every third day, otherwise your skin will peel! I have been using it on & off for 3 years and I still can't use it everyday!!

This stuff is great, took one lippie off cause it can be drying if you dont moisturizer really well, but it cleared up my spots so well and keeps any would-be break outs at bay. If you have acne to any degree i would try this.

The repairing lotion really works for me. It's the only BP product I can use on my entire face. I can only use stronger BPs as spot treatments. So I go back to this product every time. In fact, I kick myself every time in the past I have decided to try something else. By the way, you can arrange to have your order shipped every three months, four months, etc. They have become much more flexible. I get two repairing lotions and one toner. I understand that Pro Activ doesn't work for everyone. But it's the only thing that has really controlled my acne for the past ten years!

I used the 3 step system for about 4 months. Then I went 3 months without any products or makeup and my skin was about the same if not a little better because it had a healthier dew look to it.
Of all the proactiv products (wash, toner, lotion and mask), the lotion is the only one I still use a little bit.
ProActiv's main ingredient for acne fighting is benzoyl peroxide. Benzoyl peroxide helps with the bateria that causes zits. This product has 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. I use it over blemishes that look actively infected (white heads or gnarly blemishes).
I'm definitely going to search for a better benzoyl peroxide product when this is out because it causes the whole area to become red. I've used my friends prescribed 10% benzoyl peroxide and it never made my skin as red as this one does.
Also, if you order ProActiv and you don't want them to automatically send you more every 2 months, make it clear to them. I don't remember telling them to put me on an auto charge and send but they did anyways.

This product works pretty well, It can get itchy. and I did have 1 bad experience with this when I used a tissue infused with lotion to put this on and it gave me a rash...so be careful what you mix with this product.

I tried Proactiv a while back after I broke out in this what felt like an epidemic on my face! Geez.... never had a problem like that one. Needless to say Proactiv doesn't work for me. I didn't like this product it just left my skin really slick and oily... and I don't have oily skin. Not a plus for me. BUT thankfully my face is Clear thanks to Acne.org! woots!

Of all the components of the Pro Activ system, I like this the best. It was gentle enough to slather on anytime, and had the advantage of achieving complete opposite things- healing my zits while moisturizing my face. I really do wish that I could buy this product by itself (last time I checked, it was available as such). I also like that it's a BP product, which is much more effective for me than any other active ingredient. I dislike the company for not allowing individual components to be bought, what a scam! Due to that, I won't be doing business with them just for the sake of one product, there are many other similar ones one the market and I'll have to settle for those.

About a two years ago, I decided to try Proactiv. Of *course that's been ditched (what else) and reviewed. One thing I did keep was the BP Repairing lotion. I have found this to be true to it's initial action: it does not clog my pores, and when I have a break out I am dealing with, this lotion is truly soothing and I know it helps clear them up faster. I realize there is a brand of BP lotion available in the pharmacy, but I didn't like it. what I love about Proactiv's BP repairing lotion is the first igredient is water. VERY good. The drag is, Proactiv will *not allow me to buy just the lotion, as it does not cost enough to ship. I still get a three piece kit that I have modified...2 repairing lotion and one cleanser. I don't want the cleanser and they will not allow me to have 3 repairing lotions. So I jump thru the $50.00 Proactiv hoop every 6 weeks, just grateful this product exists....meanwhile I have BOXES of the "cleanser" bulding up, which I may sell on Ebay.
Worst Complaints:
•The customer service bites, the last person who "helped" me made her agitation and boredom VERY apparent through her gum chewing, and used words like "mmmmmuhyeah" and "mmmkay"
•holy wow, over priced, and I had to fight with gum chewing dimwit to get what I wanted. When is this going to be available in stores?
•Sometimes it is not moisturising enough and I have to add a drop of Jojoba oil and or Aloe Vera gel (depending on the time of month and season)
To conclude: this is one product I have been using for nearly 2 years, and if that's ^^^ all the whine I've got, well then, we have an HG friends [=
•••UPDATE•••
After getting the Clarisonic I thought I would stop using this. However, I guess my 30's are my "weird skin" time of my life. Some people experience teen acne, some get Thirties acne.
I still like this lotion and will keep ordering it. One mistake I made was using i too often in the daytime, so Jojoba oil is there to take up the slack.
***UPDATE*** 05/29/2012
It has been two years since the last review. I continue to struggle with my skin although a recent stint with some bad cleansers caused my skin to freak out. I am going back to using the repairing lotion, frankly I think it is the best moisturizer for someone with crazy, reactive bulls^&t skin.I have been using Impruv and it's a decent moisturizer, but hear me: If you have something that you like and it's not messing up your skin...just stick with it. Trust me, it gets harder as you get older to balance your skin after you screw it up.

I tried Proactiv and at first it worked great. Then after a while my skin became very irritated by it even though I was using the same small amount of the repairing lotion. I would never waste my money on Proactiv again- now I use Avenue Clearance K, which is a much better product.
