i thought this was close to my HG but after using it for a week it def isnt! i think a week is the minimum u shud wait to see what a foundation is like. this impressed me at first but as soon as it gets warmer (the weather) this makes my face horrible! i feel the makeup is really obvious on esp on my nose- this also highlightes every pore i have! the glow i get in the first 5 mins of putting this on quickly turns to greasy shine and even after i put powder on, i was shiny again after 30 mins! horrible! it didnt look too bad in cold weather but in warm whether and sunlight no way not for me. i felt like i was wearing a mask. i just dont get on with EL foundations

Futurist is an amazing foundation. I have an oily t-zone and it's not greasy on me. I just only wear primer in the morning now. The best part is the finish. You need sooo little. In fact, I just run my fingers around the rim and it's enough. I have tons of broken capillaries and old red spots and huge pores and futurist makes them all go away. I only need concealer under my eyes now. I set this with my meteorites balls and the look is amazing. It lasts all day even through sweating. In fact, hubby and I had a lunchtime quickie the other day and I went to the bathroom and was amazed that it was all still on! Try this. The SA will give multiple samples to find your perfect shade. I'm only 32 which I guess is mature but this is my new HG!
EDIT: After changing my skincare routine, my skin got oilier! Gee thanks. But futurist is now too greasy for me and slides off after a few hours. See my review for doublewear. The "official" HG for me now.

I am 25 and was recommended this foundation by the MA. I have really dry skin and every foundation that I try makes my skin really flakey. Even with this foundation, you could still see the flakes. So I stopped using this foundation for a while, found a good moisturiser that was really hydrating on my skin and gave this another go. I just applied it and I like it. It makes my skin really nice and dewy and even conceals the redness on my cheeeks. The packaging is nice.

I guess this foundation would be fine for someone with very dry skin but I'm 54 and still have a slightly oily T-zone and this stuff nearly dripped off of my face. I had to set it with LOTS of powder to get rid of the oil-slick look that I had from the moment I put it on. And putting lots of powder on top of foundation does not give you a youthful look. It shouldn't be advertised as suitable for Normal/Combo skin. In my case the "Luminous" finish was nothing more than a sweaty, greasy look. Won't buy this stuff again.

OMG, I found my perfect ultimate HG liquid foundation! This is it! This is what I've been looking for! I love skincare that contains moisturizers and collagen builders like hyaluronic acid, palmitoyl oligopeptide, olive oil, and wheat germ -- and this foundation has it all. It glides on like a silk gel, sinks in and blends beautifully, and mimics my own skin with a gorgeous glow. The very lightest color, Porcelain, is perfect for me. Even the price is reasonable. I even like the small, slender frosted bottle. I am so in love! I'm incredibly thrilled that I decided to go to Hecht's and stop by the Estee Lauder counter. Futurist is amazing.

I hadn't been happy with any foundation for a while.Foundation just seenmed to sit on top of my face even if I used a foundation brush.I have dry skin and always use a moisturizer with sunscreen.Too many foundations would get that orange tint if used with a moisturizer w/sunscrren. Not this.It covers evenly, doesn't change color, lasts all day and gives a luminous look.I use this in Fair. For reference I'm a GA LSF#4.

I really like this foundation, medium coverage, a luminous look. I have it in Desert Beige, perfect for my light-medium skintone for Winter.

This is by far the best foundation I have ever used. If I listed all the high-end foundations I have purchased you would pass out. Or suggest counseling may be in order:) The coverage is great, not to much, not to little. I wear makeup because I want to look GOOD. There is no such thing as natural beauty:) This foundation does what it is suppose to do. If you are on the fence as to purchase or not go to the counter and get a free sample. It will be enough to use for a week or so. I have fairly dry skin so if you are oily I would say easy on the moisturizer.

I know I would like Futurist more if the sales associate would have found a better color match for my skin tone. She recommended Desert Beige but when I got home I found it to be to light so I look a bit washed out and pastey. I do love the lightweight feel to the foundation and it does stay in place well. I would prefer more coverage with my foundation but Futurist can be built up without looking cakey. I will repurchase but next time I'll go one shade darker.

I loved this at first, but it dries my skin out after a few hours. And in the beginning it's super oily looking.

I have extremely dry skin in my T-zone area and all that comes with it -- redness, flakiness, etc. I have to be careful when it comes to my foundation and loose powder, because if my skin is too dry, putting those on top of it makes it look even worse. (Those of you with dry skin know what I'm talking about.) Futurist is one of very few foundations that doesn't just sit on top of my skin when it's particularly dry. This is a rich liquid that's moisturizing, and in my opinion, provides medium coverage -- enough to even out skin tone, but not so much that you look overly made up. It has the faintest, faintest scent to it that's almost undetectable, and it comes in a nice glass bottle with a pour top, so you can easily control how much you dispense. This is definitely one of my HG products -- always have it on hand.

This gives good coverage, but it felt and looked way too heavy on me. I like the feel of tinted moisturizers much better.

I have a love/hate relationship with this foundation. I find it really hard to put on as it is difficult to blend and can get flaky if you don't do it quick enuogh or if you don't moisturise well. After initial application my skin looks a bit false and unnatural. BUT, by the time I have got into work something magical happens with this foundation and my skin looks wonderful and looks better and better as the day progresses. By the afternoon my skin looks radiant and glowing and flawless. I would definitely buy it again but I think I need to work on my application technique a bit more. UPDATE - I have tried different application methods and I get best results when I use my fingers. I am very happy with this now!!!

I have used almost every foundation there is out there - prescriptives, shu uemura, lancome, clinique, lorac - and this is probably one of the best! Thank you for all the reviews, which encouraged me to try this foundation! The foundation goes on my skin smoothly, does not cake, blends well with my skin color, and just looks natural! I have been using shu uemura for the last 2 years and didn't realize how aweful it looked on my skin until I saw how natural this foundation looks on me! Will definitely stick to this one.

Okay, this is one of those foundations where some days I like it, and some days I don't. When I put it on, the first 5 minutes the coverage is beautiful....covers everything. So I wait for to soak in, which takes a long time, to put on my Chanel Loose Powder to get rid of the shine (a product I adore) but it comes out looking so fake before I even put the powder on. I don't know it's difficult to explain. If I don't have that much to cover I try to use little, but if I use little, all my dry patches (that I never knew I had) show through because I gives a dry appearance if you don't use a decent amount and I don't like layering this foundation because it can look cakey-like.....it definitely doesn't make the pores smaller and I don't consider my pores to be huge in the first place. Also, the color range isn't good at all. Too orangey, or too dark. I have it in Cameo and it's too orange/dark, but it's the lightest shade in the yellow undertones. Plus I think this has been breaking me out. I have dry skin due to acne medications, therefore I am also acne-prone, and whenever I would take this foundation off, I would have new blemish. Also, now looking in the mirror I'm discovering some clogged pores and this is the only make-up I put on my face except for Chanel loose powder, but I know that's not it because I've used longer than EL's Futurist and it never caused my skin any problems. I don't know--I ordered Becca's compact concealer for the big blemishes, and I just have some very minor acne scars--nothing a light coverage, moisturizing foundation couldn't take care of. So if anyone knows a good, light-coverage, possibly even medium coverage, foundation that's moisturizing and doesn't have known break-out ingredients, then I'm open to any suggestions. (That sounds like a lot to ask for out of a foundation, doesn't it?)

I LOVE this foundation. I was using the last of the discontinued Mary Kay foundation that I had found on Ebay, but I was getting tired of that too. I don't know if it was too old, but it seemed thick and was soon becoming NOT my favorite. These reviews are so awesome...I read the ones for the Futurist foundation and was so impressed. No one said anything bad about it, so I said I gotta try this. I went to my local dept store and she gave me a sample of one color, it was too dark, (sorry can't remember the color), then she gave me a sample of the new color, fair. It was a way different color than the antique ivory mary kay stuff (which now I think seems ashy). I took the little sample bottle home and used it for 2 days and fell in love...ahhhh. This foundation goes on so smoothly, covers great, even though you wouldn't think it would, because it seems so light, and lasts well. The only thing I would change would be the price. I'm not used to paying $35.00 (with tax) a bottle, but will gladly do it, because this is my new HG!! I am 49 and a certified make-up lover, have been since I've been 13!

Wow, this is really the best foundation I've ever used! I've used Lancome, Clinique, Christian Dior and a few drugstore brands. I decided to try this foundation after reading the reviews and I am hooked. The coloring is beautiful for my pale skin and it does not clog pores or show any dry patches. I love this stuff, finally the perfect foundation!

Oh wow. I am really, really trying to make this product work. I have been on the hunt for a good winter foundation since Clinique stopped making Extra Help Foundation. That was A LONG time ago! I bought this in Porcelain and when I got it, I thought - ewww too dark. But once I put it on, it is absolutely perfectly matched to my skin. Then I noticed how long my make-up stayed in place. My blush and concealer (Aveda Inner Light) literally lasted until I removed them at night. Incredible. I was so thrilled! Until, of course, I noticed the nasty little evil dry patches I get on my chin and near my jaw. DAMN! I have been using Origins Never Say Dry underneath it and it still did this. Oh I am so disappointed. I will say that the dryness did not show up until late in the day - around 5 pm or so. So maybe a better kind of moisturizer that lasts longer will help. I am going to keep trying it with different ones and see if I can do something about it. This stuff is just too great. UPDATE: I found the answer to my late afternoon dryness. I am using Garden Botanika's Foundation Primer for Dry Skin under this and it is PERFECT! It lasts all day and no flakies or dry spots. It feels wonderful. I am thrilled!
