After all the hype around this soap, I finally gave in and purchased snowcake. I love love love the smell of this stuff! It reminds of Burt Bee's almond salve. On the downside, the price is a bit steep for a soap since its available only for a limited time during the holiday season. Also, when used in the shower, it didn't lather very much. I like to feel squeaky clean after using a soap. However, because of the smell, I will most likely repurchase. I'm obsessed with anything that smells like almonds and icing.

NO. No no no. This says creamy Almond Icing and it smells like when I make potato latkes. It's even worse when it goes on the skin. It smells like rubber and potatoes.

At first I did not care for this scent. I honestly couldnt smell anything. I decided to go ahead and cut some off and use it and as soon as I got it wet I enjoyed it completely. It is the softest silkiest most smooth soap I have tried from Lush. I have tried quite a few of the soaps. As I am not sure I can smell the soap I am in love with how it goes on my skin!

This is great! I got this as a gift and hate the fact that it is only available around Christmas. At the same time, that's what makes it so special.. :)

The. Best. Soap. Ever. I truly love this soap. I like it better than any other LUSH soap I've ever used (which is quite a few). I cannot get over the yummy almond/vanilla/slightly cinnamon scent of this soap. It makes me happy just thinking about it.

I buy large portions of this when it is availalbe and keep it in the fridge so that I have it year round.

I like this so much better than HIWTK. It's soothing to my skin, smells great, and lathers well. What's not to love?

So I ended up getting this from lush UK, and I totally regret buying it. Just the day before I got this in, I got a small sample of this from a friend. Wow I didn't get this smell at all.

I do not like cinnamon scents at all, when I say this I basically mean HATE cinnamon, and along with the faint smell of almonds and vanilla the smell of cinnamon overpowers everything else. So much so that I don't even smell the vanilla with it. Much like some other friends who have had this soap they hate it, and much like me do not at all get the scent of almond icing. Not only did I not end up liking the smell notes within the soap, it also smelled synthetic and basically like fake smells.

The sample I got was quite large and would normally last me a couple showers, but no this soap melted so fast that the whole small block was used up in one go.

This is also probably one of the worst drying out soaps I've ever had, probably due to the glycerin base. By the time I stepped out of the shower my skin felt so tight I needed to put some body butter on and spray some perfume on myself to get rid of the scent, my friends smelled me when I got out of the shower and I got asked what the hell did I use because it did not smell good. I dunno if its just me, but I absolutely loathe this soap.

I'm obviously in the minority here, but i do not like this soap. I normally love almond scents, but not this. It smells soooooo powdery and almost old. I like it better on the dry sniff then I do in the shower. It's quite soft and creamy which I like, but it doesn't moisturize at all. It disolves quickly.

I do like that lush doesn't add on any additional packaging.

I LOVE this soap! And I think I like it more than HIWTK. It looks like just a really plain off-white bar of soap, but dont let that fool you. On the website, they say that the new design for it is inspired by a Russian cake. It smells like almonds and cream, and feels like cream once it's on your skin. It gives a really really good lather, and its so soft and not too squeeky clean. It's very moisturizing, and doesnt leave you with a stripped-of-every-oil-you-have squeeky feeling. And its one of Lush's cheaper soaps!
The only bad thing about it is it only comes once a year... but good thing it's a Holiday classic; they bring it out every year!

This is my all-time favorite soap from Lush. I also LOVE the shower gel, in fact, I prefer it, but the gel is so rare, so I get the soap.

The scent is nice at first, perhaps average, but there is something about that almond scent that keeps me coming back for more. It's more noticeable in the gel, but the soap is just as nice. I usually like floral scents, sometimes exotic, but I always stock up on this whenever possible. I might even call it a romantic relationship.....

I first bought snowcake about three or four years back. I've been buying it religiously every time it's released ever since. I usually buy a couple of blocks to stash away to keep me going until it's released again.
When I first bought it, it had a topping of glitter that looked very pretty but could be quite scratchy on the skin. I'd end up throwing away a small portion of the soap that had the glitter. Thankfully, it's now just plain soap so I can get more use from a bar.
Gorgeous almond scent that isn't overpowering.
This soap lathers up well & is one of the more creamy Lush soaps. Doesn't melt away as quickly as others (Rock Star is also a favourite but that melts away very quickly) & leaves my skin extremely soft & doesn't dry me out.
I was lucky enough to happen across the very limited Snowcake shower gel on ebay for a bargain price & it smells just like the soap. I wish they'd bring that back.
I'm anxiously awaiting the release of this year's batch so I can stock up again.

I found this soap to be very drying. My bar that I got in a gift smelled more like play-doh when I first got it. I hated it. After a while it started to smell a little better, but it's just not worth it to me.

I love this soap for oh so many reasons, and I have a ridiculous amount of it stocked up--and still am ready to buy or swap for more at any time?

Why? Three reasons:

1) The smell is lovely--not too heavy, not too sweet, but a nice, soothing mix. I am not a fan of super heavy scents, and I don't like too "exotic" or even too "floral" scents. The result is that normally I end up with sweet, fruity, or citrus scents. While I like these, sometimes it leads to little variety.

The nice thing about Snowcake is that while it has some sweet elements, they are faint, and just a hint of a floral scent that is not too strong. Almond is the main scent, but there's some rose in there as well, along with other things. The result is a wonderful mix--personally, I am not sure why they make it a Christmas item. If they sold it year-round, they'd make a fortune. It's one of those items that I think Lush will always have at Christmas--or risk an uproar from their customers!

The nice thing is that while the scent lingers for a while--a surprisingly long while--it's still not too strong.

2) How it moisturizes. This soap is the most moisturizing soap I have ever used. Even when you just touch it on its own, before washing your hands, you'll find yourself amazed at the feel.

3) It's not greasy, and it doesn't leave a film! This, too me, is extremely important; I am more sensitive to touch than most people, and it drives me crazy when soaps leave a film behind. Add that to skin pain from a health condition, and the result is that I am incredibly picky about what soaps I use--or even CAN use.

This one, however, leaves no film or greasy feeling behind, which is something I find to be VERY rare in a moisturizing soap.

Overall, it's one of the best soaps I've ever used, and if I had my way I'd never use another. While it's a shame it's a seasonal soap, I'll pay whatever I have to in order to have large amounts of it year-round.

A lot of people in the reviews have said that this smells like icing on christmas cake. Uhm... if that is true, don't ever invite me over on coffee and cake!

I so wanted to like this after reading the positive reviews but when I finally received it in my LUSH order I was sooo dissapointed. It didn't smell yuck... nor did it smell yum. But it smelled like something I had smelled before that I couldn't put my finger on for weeks. Then one day my sister got a little too close to me and she's like... why do you smell like a public bathroom?
And that's what it reminded me of! Snowcake soap smells exactly like the bathrooms did back in the day when we used to go camping in Sweden.
The soap itself is fine, though it melts away rather quickly. And if you like the smell, go ahead. But this was not for me. Sorry LUSH.

I bought a sample-sized bar of snowcake soap. This is the very first Lush product that I had tried. It smells pleasant ("Perla" Clean soap smell).

The downside however are the following:

1. Drying. It has glycerine.

2. Melts away pretty fast.

I like the fact that its color is white. :D

Don't forget to use a body moisturizer after using this product to keep your skin smooth and moisturized.

Love the almondy smell to this soap. Too bad it's seasonal! Doesn't last too long in the shower. Would repurchase.

I bought into the hype and all the rave reviews on this soap and bought some. No. Just no. It isn't the worst Lush soap I have tried, but it just smells weird. I catch the almond scent a little, but it almost has a cold scent that just not inviting to me at all. It also isn't one of the longer lasting soaps. I have just been so underwhelmed by most of the Lush products I have tried.

I have 2 chunks of Snow cake soap and then I bought 3 bars from the Holiday gifts.

The three bars from the Holiday gifts are really, really different compared to buying a chunk from a block of snowcake. The bars in the gifts smell like Snowcake does but there's also a chemical-y scene to it. The holiday bars don't lather nearly as well. Lush must have used a different formular/ingredients for the holiday gifts, I'm guessing.

But the regular snowcake from the blocks of soap are great! Creamy, luscious cake scent. One of my favorite Lush scents (despite the disappointing bars found in the holiday gifts) ever.

I RIS in a Lush gift set. The only reason I wanted the gift set because I had to try the Snowcake soap that everyone raved about. Boy, what a major disappointment. When I first took the soap out of the wrapping it smelled soooo good like vanilla and almonds. As I started to use it in the shower it smelled kind of rancid. I was shocked!!!! I am really disappointed and I believe with Lush products it is a 50/50 chance that you will either love it or hate it.
