I'm pretty sure it was the shampoo that made my hair fall out, but the conditioner did nothing for the state of my hair. My hair looked the worst that it ever did in my entire life while I was using this product.

i like to color my hair alot, i use this product to smooth it and make it soft again, it seems to really work for that, However, it makes my face and chest break out and then i start to lose alot of hair in the shower. I use just one bottle then switch,to something else, it does heal the damage to my hair.

it is a good product for mosturizing hair and such but it is not for people with damaged, split end, and damage prone hair because pantene mademy hair smooth and smell good but it didnt protect my hair, when i would striaghten it i got even more split ends then when i used to use garnier. so if u dont have damaged hair it can be used but if not i would say garnier

I LOVE this conditioner! I have pretty thick hair and this is really thick and rich and coats every single strand. My hair is pretty dry at the ends but an oily scalp, so I use this everywhere except my roots. It makes my hair smooth and silky and so shiny and soft! Definitely my HG conditioner. A con about this is the smell. Fortunately it goes away as soon as you wash it out but still. They must have changed the fragrance, 'cause I used to think it smelled SO good. The smell now is bearable, but definitely NOT pleasant. It smells weird, like a really weird old person's perfume and my dirty hair. =(

*UPDATE*: I changed my mind about the smell. When I got out of the shower today and my hair air dry, I smelled something REALLY good so I was looking around to see what it was and it was my hair! It's a really soft, clean, fresh scent and just makes your hair feel and smell even cleaner!

I've been using this conditioner for at least 5 years and it's my favourite conditioner hands down. I have long, thick, coarse Asian hair and it conditions my hair so well. I tend to use a palm full (my hair's more than halfway down my back) so one bottle doesn't last very long, even with washing every other day. I try to stock up when it's on sale, and I don't like paying for than $5.00 CDN for it.

After rinsing I like my hair to feel very slippery and I can run a wide toothed comb through with no tangles. I then air dry for about two hours, then do a quick blow dry for less than 5 minutes and my hair's nice and shiny.

I must mention that I have virgin hair and it's naturally very straight so I don't know how true the "smooth and sleek" claim is, but I get compliments on my hair so I'm not complaining. I also use this with Finesse shampoo.

I LOVE this conditioner! I have used it for about two years now and few things every work for my hair for that long. It's probably not a great conditoner for the kinds of hair it was made for- Mine is shoulder length and quite curly, and the curly products just make it frizzy and give it bad definition. Strangely, this is great for definition as well as controlling frizz. I use it every time I take a shower, usually without shampoo, and this ruitine works really well for me. So I really reccomend girls with thick curly hair to try it.

This is a good conditioner, although not the best I've ever used. It's good for a day to day basis though. I use deeper more intensive conditioners once a week. It has a good smell and does the job.

This has been reformulated and is now known as "Always Smooth." The original formula was a holy grail for coarse hair, but a bad choice for fine hair. The new formula is even more so on both counts.

The new formula has done away with the proteins. They have no benefit and some people claim that they dry out their hair, so no loss there. It also has significantly less panthenol, the Vitamin B derived ingredient that Pantene makes such a big deal about. Don't worry, it was a harmless ingredient but had no benefit. Put Vitamin B in your mouth, not on your hair!

The biggest change is that there is now significantly more silicone. This is wonderful news for hair that is thick and poofy and frizzy, as this will do an even better job of smoothing it down than the original formula did. People with fine hair will complain that their naturally beautiful, sleek, smooth fine hair is weighed down. Whine, whine whine. Why is it always people with perfect hair, skin and bodies who whine the most? :-P Seriously, you'll want something more lightweight than this is your hair is fine.

My hair was getting really dry and falling out a bit more than usual. I hear bad things about Pantene but my husband loves their products so I tried this conditioner. It made my hair soft, shiny & it stopped falling out.

This was the greatest conditioner ever. It is thick and rich and conditioned perfectly, and is dirt cheap. I have frizzy long wavy hair and this did the job perfectly. It is better than a lot of the higher end conditioners imo. And it angers me to say this but I went to the drugstore and this conditioner is now called "always smooth" it is no longer as rich as it used to be. It seems a bit watered down, and does not deliver the same results as smooth and sleek. So disappointed, I have to say goodbye to a great product.

The best conditioner I have every used. My hair is waist length and very dry (when not using the conditioner).I have washed my hair without it and the results were horrible. It has worked so much better then all of the expensive salon brands that i have purchased in the past.

It is the best conditioner for my dry hair...it doesnt take alot for it to spread evenly, and it makes my hair feel like silk after i rinse it off...im asian with straight hair..works really really well, and i dont think i will change conditioner

NVM this makes hair feel good in the shower, but once you dry up hair still sucks. My HG is now herbal essences long term relationship conditioner

Have been using it for the last three years and I think it works pretty well. Does a nice job of smoothing my hair unlike many other conditioner brands I have tried. Overall, I think Pantene makes great shampoos and conditioners if your hair is on the dryer side. I have oily hair but dry ends, so I use this on my ends and it works pretty well!

I bought this in the shampoo+conditioner combo, and will never buy another shampoo/conditioner again. I was looking for something that left my hair squeaky clean and great smelling. This conditioner does all that plus more. It keeps my hair from curling after I wash it, and I love how I can wake up in the morning, brush it, & put it up in a perfect style without any styling products.

After using up my bottle of the Pantene conditioner for damaged hair (old formula and good stuff by the way), I decided to try the Smooth and Sleek formula in shampoo and conditioner. I'm sorry but this stuff has got to be one of the worst condidtioners for my hair, fine and thick. When I first put the conditioner on my hair, I thought it had nice texture and my hair was feeling good. As soon as I rinsed it off, my hair started to feel like it does right after a shampoo. Not good! Before I have a chance to blow-dry, the ends are starting to look dry and straw-like. After a quick blow-dry, my hair now has very little shine, looks dry, looks a bit fly-away, and has a strange film. The conditioner is heading for the trash can as soon as I can get a replacement.

It didn't do anything for my coarse hair, much less make it smooth and sleek. My hair still kinks and looks dry. Getting a different brand asap.
