I absolutely adore this pigment. I have a pressed pan of it and some in a sample jar, but I desperately need the full-size. It is an almost metallic bright purple that goes on vibrantly with one swipe and blends with ease. I highly recommend this.

I have used this on the lid and in the crease and it is lovely as all the posters below describe. Today, though I did a neutral beige matte wash over the whole eye and then wet the violet pigment and used it as eyeliner and boy did it come alive! It is the prettiest color when applied wet and it stayed all day. It made my greenish eyes just look gorgeous. My only complaint remains that they need to put sifters in their pigment jars. I fear spilling the whole thing one day.

What a beautiful colour this is!
I have quite a few loose powder purples but none top this, it so easy to
blend.
Most people moan that its too messey but if you dab abit on the top side of your hand and work it into a make up brush, you dont get that annoying powder drop on your cheeks!

I'm slightly dissapointed by this pigment. From the colour in the pot I was expecting a very bright, rich purple, and this pigment failed to deliver that for me. No matter how heavily I applied it, I couldn't get the deep shade I was looking for. The end result is perfectly nice, but I've got a Boots eyeshadow that costs a fraction of the price that does the same trick. I'm glad I didn't spend my money on a full tub of this-- it's nice, but I won't be seeking it out again.

Is it just me or is this pigment not as loud as it should be? The texture is fine and it the colour is a nice purple - like MAC's Grape pigment but a shade lighter. However this pigment goes on too sheerly. I usually rely on pigments to add extra kick to my eyeshadow, so this is disappointing. Instead I would recommend Grape, because Violet is too thin and does not show up well (I can't believe I'm saying this about a MAC pigment!). I suppose it would be ok if you want a subtle look.

This pigment is one of the most dissapointing ones for me. Color is great, texture is great. But this was the fastest fading of all the pigments Ive tried. Plus it did not look as vibrant on my medium toned skin as it did in the pot, even when foiled. It's pretty for the most part, but ill get my violet e/s fix elsewhere.

I love using purple eye shadow, this purple is my all time favorite! It looks good if put a light dusting or if I lay it on thick. Any way I wear it it looks amazing, I will definitely be buying it again soon.

Most purples that I try out are either too dark, too gray or too blue. This one is a pure, vivid violet purple. It stands out a lot on me because of my coloring (dark hair, dark eyes and pale skin).. Since it's a pigment/loose powder, it's kind of messy and annoying to apply, but with practice it gets easier. Also, the texture is very fine and not at all chunky like some MAC pigments are (like Kitschmas and Rose).

This is such a beautiful violet. Shimmery, almost pearlescent. Very nice bright violet that really stands out. Smooth and silky texture.
Use with a mixing medium or even water to apply it. Beautiful alone or paired with other Mac Pigments.

Medium bright violet with shimmer. I use purples a lot because it's one of my favorite colors and because they make the green and goldish tones in my eyes very prominent! This Pigment works well with other colors...other purples, pinks, blues, greens etc. The texture is nice and smooth. Took one point off because I wish this was a bit more intense, but that isn't a real big deal since the intensity can be increased with a purple base.

This is a lovely pigment. It has a great texture and goes on very smoothly with minimal (if any) fallout. It's a true cool violet with strong blue undertones. It's very pigmented and stays on all day. Definitely a must if you're a purple lover! I like pairing it with other purples, blues or pinks. Of course, the price might seem steep but you get so much and use so little each time. I have a vial and have barely made a dent in it!

I've been looking for the "perfect" bright, bright, bright purple eyeshadow for years and this is the closest I've found - most purples go kinda soft and muddy on me (is it 'cos I've got a warm skintone, I wonder?), but violet pig's so irridescent and colourful it really stands out...... here's my current fave way to wear violet pig, I went into my boyfriend's house the other night and both him and his flatmate did a double-take and went "wow, that's a HELL of a bright purple!", so mission accomplished, I was pleased, and this is how I wore it: Urban Decay Primer potion to prime lid with a thin layer of fluidline in "Haunted" (sheer lavendar - makes the perfect base for violet pig) all over the eyelid and right up to the brow - brushed the violet pigment all across the lid and socketline and under the eye, packing it heavily on top of the still-damp fluidline - took my "Pandamonium eyes" quad (reviewed seperately, a pretty purplish quad but not as bright as I would've liked.... turns out it works BRILLIANTLY to finish of a "violet pigment" look) and worked a little Violet Trance into the outer corner and part-way across the socketline, "Pandamonium" in the lower waterline, with Cloudbound to highlight the eyebrow arch area and just a little bit "Up at Dawn" brushed into the tear duct area to add a subtle lilac highlight.... slick of blacktrack fluidline to line the top lid, mascara, and Va-Va-VOOM!!!! Great stuff......

Great pigment, but its really bright on. Not how I was expecting it which is why it's up for swap. I went to NYC and she did my makeup using it but come to find out there was a much darker purple on top of it so it appeared to be darker. I had a suprise when I flew home and tried it myself. I felt like it was just too bright a purple for my skin tone. If you had the color in your face to wear it, it would be beautiful!

I'm a pretty cool-toned gal, so I'm able to carry off this color fairly well. It's a beautiful color, and quite shimmery. I like pairing it with golds for a burst of color.

It has a tendency to look like a bruise if not applied right, so it can be a tad difficult to work with, but once you figure it out it's a dream!

If you can find this color, please pick it up, because you won't regret it!

To me, this is a beautiful purple pigment... but it's not for me. (NW20) It is too bright for me to use as a liner (with a dampened eyeliner brush), and it's not my type of purple to use as an eyeshadow, either. Glad I only bought a 1/4 tsp. sample off of ebay. I don't see much use for this brightly colored pigment.

i gave this one a four because there's nothing incredibly special about this piggie, but it is a nice clean purple. if you're looking for a dupe of this, try nyx bright purple shadow.
