I heard good reviews about this, but it just didn't work all that well for me. It does make my hair more curly, but at the same time it makes it more frizzy and that's just not worth it!

I totally hated this product! I have fine wavy/curly hair and this balm did absolutely nothing for my hair. It actually flattened my hair in some spots and created frizz. My hair felt dirty and looked dull after applying this product. Oh, and did I mention that it is quite expensive (paid almost $17 at Ulta). I have discovered Beyond the Zone Noodle Head from this board...it works 100 times better for $5. Save yourself over $10 and buy Noodle Head instead.

I'm not sure what this product does, really. What it is supposed to do is moisturise and help curl up hair during the drying process. But, it's a gel, so seems more drying than moisturising. It doesn't really seem to do anything to my hair, except separate and make slightly crunchy. There's no real scent, the packaging is blah, and it's quite expensive. Avoid.

I did not care for this. It did nothing for the frizzies. I do really like the curl up spray for scrunching, though, and would recommend that.

New packaging now, thank goodness; I have the old one (got it 30% off b/c of this) -- I really like this when I want to enhance the curl in my hair. Has a pleasant smell that doesn't seem to last on my hair once it is dry -- I think it is described as "herbal calyx", whatever THAT means. I apply it to my hair when it is towel-dried, then use my hair dryer on low. It helps eliminate frizz and helps the curls stick together. I usually apply some of my Artec Textureline Magnifier when my hair is fully dry to enhance the curl-cling even more. I do notice that if I use this, then sleep on my hair, that I really need to wash the next day -- too much deposit, I guess. But that's fine since most days I do wash every day. My hair doesn't feel tangly, dirty, or weighed down by this product at all.

this stuff really is great. On my medium lengh naturally curly/wavy hair this is the best when i choose to wear it curly. This balm is really light takes all of the frizz out of my hair. I consider this the best bc it doesnt make hair crunchy or stiff, it keeps the hair soft and just enhances the curl. I love this! Will definately be rebuying

This is one of the worst products I have ever tried for my dry curly hair. It was terrible! It made my hair feel weighed down and gross. I agree with the other reviewers on the "dirty" feel it left in my hair. I tried varying amounts of this product. I tried it wet, damp, dry--you name I have tried it. It stil did nothing but make my hair look terrible. I ended up throwing it away.

I agree with URAngel I have much better results with KMS Curl-Up balm than Aveda's Be Curly. It works with my curl so much better and does not leave it sticky or weighed down. Couldn't do without it or Redken's Fresh Curls Spin Control, which I have also just discovered due to not being able to find KMS in stock.

Ugh. glad I got a trial size of this, although I'm stuck with a full sized spray that isn't any better. I've tried this a few times each time hoping for better results. On my coarse curly hair this does absolutely nothing, if anything it pulled out some of my curl and it makes my hair feel dry and gross (think just out of the chlorine pool feel). Tossing the rest of this. Do yourself a favor and try something else. I recommend TiGi Catwalk Curls Rock Curl Amplifier. This one isn't perfect, its a little crunchy, but at least it shines, defines and curls.

I have wavy hair that is usually frizzy in humid weather. While this product boosted my curl, it mainly made my hair feel like it was coated. I think it might be ok for someone who has curly hair that is not frizzy. But I wouldn't recommend it for someone w/hair like mine.

This is much better than the KMS Curl Up Spray. Non-sticky pinkish gel defines curl really well. Pricier than the Spray version, but I like this better. Does not have the so-called vanilla scent that I hated.

The only bad thing about it is the packaging, looks nice but not very practical, a bit hard to pour the gel out from the bottle.

I used it few years ago and I liked it very much - I bought it after my hairdresser tried it on my hair.

But I have tried it lately and I didn't like it anymore, it's too heavy... I don't use gel anymore, my hair tends to be crunchy and dry otherwise.

An average curl-enhancer. Nothing horrible, but nothing special either. I used it as my "every day" gel for a few months till I finished up the tube, but I was disappointed when I got better results from some cheap Got2Be curling gel.

I usually like KMS products, but this one, no. Made my hair feel dirty and frizzy. I have wavy hair that curls with the right product and scrunching... this didn't do it for me. I tried it several times, using different amounts and techniques. It always ended up weighing my hair down terribly and dried it out - and I have oily hair. Would not recommend to girls with fine, wavy hair looking for curls.

This product really helps define my curls. I put it on while my hair is damp and kind of scrunch it in. This is the best product I've found and like many girls with curls, I've tried just about everything.

I really, really like this product. It left my hair extra-silky,bouncy and defined.2 thumbs up,liked it way more than the spray, which only dried my hair out.It would be 2 thumbs way up if it had the same scent as the spray, but it's still an overall good product.

I'm quite surprised that this product isn't as popular as I would think it should be. I use it when my hair has just been shampooed and conditioned and still damp. I squeeze a dime size amount and run it through my naturally slightly wavy hair. I sometimes leave it down and let it airdry and sometimes I twist it up and secure with a clip and let it airdry. The next morning I wake up to mermaid like waves...it's amazing. People swear by Aveda be curly which pales in comparison to this product, in my opinion. You can purchase a trial size one for cheap if you want to try it out. That's what I did and am definately going to purchase a full size bottle soon.

This is one of the few hair products that has actually worked for me. I have fine, wavy hair that has been seriously strawified from coloring, and this gives me nice, soft curls and seems to work esp. well in the humidity.

I'm surprised that this worked so well for me, and not so for others. I have shoulder length wavy hair, and when I applied a pea-sized amount to the ends of my hair, the curls were more defined and lasted all night long. I'll definitely buy this again - but the moral of the story is to sample this before buying, if so many others don't like the curling balm.
