I have baby fine hair that's colored and highlighted. It did hold my bobbed hair all day, but it also broke it off in the front. Way to strong for my hair. I won't repurchase.

it is a good hair styling product. as the name says, instant freeze, yeah, once u spray it on ur hair, ur hair got frozen instantly. luv it. since i have really oily hair, this product doesnt give me much greasy feeling. great! b4 i found other good products i will repurchase this one.
EDIT: ANOTHER BAD PRODUCT. assuie's products always like this. first you feel they are pretty good and cheap, but after a LONG PERIOD using you will find out their products are bad. harm your hair gradually and suddently one day you will find our your hair is in bad condition.

I LOVE this hairspray for getting my beehive to stay in place without getting too "gunky". It seriously holds for hours and hours -- I actually did the 'hive and went to a carnival with rides, except for my bangs ruffling it stayed perfectly in place. You won't like it if you're looking for a flexible, brush-through spray but it definitely delivers what it promises. It also emits no CFCs so the packaging is awesome.

I just got my hair cut really REALLY short and this is the ONLY hairspray that I found that will actually hold my hair and help it defy gravity at the same time! lol Whoever named this, was right on the money, it is INSTANT FREEZE! I have literally rode with the car windows down at 70mph (legal limit thank u very much! lol ) and when I got to my destination not one single hair was out of place!!! Now, if you want touchable or flexible hold...this is not the product for you. But, if you want to fix your hair and forget about it ..and you're not scared of using a powerhouse hairspray, this is the one. My old can did have a grape smell but the new one does not--but both hold equally well--so it must just be a fragrance change and not a formula change.

I don't know why any of you people don't like the grape smell. I loved it. That's one of the main reasons why I loved this product so much. It didn't smell like nasty alcohol, and give me a headache.
So I was EXTREMELY heartbroken when I bought some the other day and it no longer smelled pretty. It smelled nasty like every other hair spray. They changed the formula. WHY WHY did they have to change my beloved hairspray?? I was extremely pissed.
But aside from that, it does still hold very well and give my hair lots of volume and make it very big. Big hair = love.
So I suppose it's still the best hairspray ever.
It does really freeze it in place.

Love it, love it, love it! I have straight, baby fine hair and this actually holds it in place all day, even in high humidity. Only complaint is the 'crunch factor' but I am willing to put up with stiff hair in order to hold the style. Very cheap, just under $3, will definitely purchase again.

I bought this randomly at CVS many months ago and have not regretted it since. This absolutely holds my hairdos and can be controlled by how much you spray.

Holds like nobody's business, but I find it a little difficult to control the nozzle properly. The spray comes out very forcefully, and in a narrow, targeted stream as opposed to a nice, wide mist. If I'm not careful and don't move the can around quickly enough, I can easily overdo it--and overdoing this stuff can bring out the worst in your hair (in my case, OD-ing produces rock-hard stringiness that's tough to fix). When properly applied, the hold is truly "Aussome." But due to the way the can sprays, it's probably best to reserve Instant Freeze for specific small areas that need it, rather than your entire head. Will likely repurchase but will still keep searching for an easier-to-use maximum-hold product.

Best Hairspray ever! Does not ravage my hair, smell is "so-so," admittedly, and gives TONS of volume to fine hair like mine. The best part is that I can usually acquire this for under USD3.

They changed the scent.. so its not so bad anymore. This is a great spray, My fav is Aveda Firmata, but when I cant afford that.. this is the second best ever. I like to spray it on my fingertips and use it as a root lifter, or I spray it on my hands use it on the under side of my layers for lift or to smooth my hair. You can't beat the price & it really works.

This stuff does what it advertises -- a few good sprays & your hair is NOT going to move no matter what. They must have changed the formula because I don't smell the grape scent that everyone is talking about -- the scent isn't great but it's not terrible like some hairsprays. I straighten my hair and spray this on after each layer & my hair stays put all night long. It's not my absolute favorite hairspray ever, but I do like it a lot.

Of all the Aussie products, this one has changed the least over the years. If you're serious about your hair not moving even just a little in wind and humidity, this is probably the only thing that will do the trick. No foolies. I am rating it a 4 because it does hold, but you have to be prepared for the side effects. You have to be able to tolerate the smell (some people apparently don't like it; I never had that problem) and you should be willing to use an aerosol for a finer mist. The nozzle does clog occasionally and you have to rinse it under warm water to get it flowing again. Spray your hair lightly in several layers, preferably holding the hair in place with fingers or a comb, and put your head in front of a fan to get it to dry faster. It WILL hold under most conditions, and your hair will not move. You will have a hard time brushing it out, and when you do, you'll see flakes. Keep this in mind if you don't wash your hair every day. It will wash out easily with shampoo, though. What this spray will not hold up to is a direct pummelling with water. If you do happen to get caught in a rainstorm and you have a lot of this on, your hair will dry looking wet and will harden into clumps that you'll be hard-pressed to brush out. Again, a shampoo will easily get it out. Most people don't need this hold every day-- back when we did, this was the HG of hairsprays. Use it wisely. Use it when it's important. And don't ever, ever get it wet. :-)

I love Aussie Instant Freeze Spray. They recently changed their scent, so it doesn't smell like a grape disaster but a more subdued tropical scent. Which is a plus!
This stuff will keep your hair in place for the whole day. This, to me, is a real hairspray. It's very sticky and actually has holding power, unlike other hairsprays that just seem to make your hair shiney :(
It does dry your hair out a little bit, but it's nothing conditioning can't fix. I use a protein treatment and deep condition twice a week so I haven't see the drying effects haha. Eitherway this is a good hairspray and I would be lost without it. And it's only $2.99!!! You can't beat that!

Aussie Instant Freeze Spray smells quite bad in my opinion. I'm already sick of it after one use. I'll compare the smell to a very artificial grape lollipop.
But for how it works, it works well. It really holds well! My hair tends to fight hair sprays on occasion, and sometimes they make my hair look flat, but in this case, my hair stays volumized.
My only complaint is the residue left behind. It leaves a glue-like coating that feels dry and takes some time to wash out thoroughly. I try not to overdue it with this product, especially in the winter, because of this.
But, again, it really holds, and that is why I still use it.

I don't really use hairspray much, but when I do, I love this! Mostly because of the scent. It smells grape-y to me & not headache-inducing (which most hairsprays are to me). I have to admit, that's the main reason I use it when I do...the smell. It's yummy! It's not expensive & certainly does the job. I love it!

I forgot how much I loved this until I recently repurchased. There was one can left at the dollar store and remembering how I could never find it at Wal-mart, I thought it was being discontinued. Well it's not, and I couldn't be happier. I LOVE the grapey smell (I just wish more Aussie stuff had this smell!) and it holds my hair exactly where I want it. My hair can be a little hard to handle, but this WONDERFUL spray really helps me out. I think this year Instant Freeze is my valentine <3

If you're looking for an "instant freeze" hairspray, well this one most definitely DOES live up to its name. It really is not for everyday use though, in my opinion. Also, has anyone ever noticed that it has a distinct smell of "DIMETAPP" grape cough syrup?!?

I would not recomend this product for everyday, but this stuff really works. If you you are looking for a cheap alternative to a high end freeze spray, this is girls. At the moment I am groing out my bangs at the moment & in the middle of the summer (crazy I know) & this is been heaven sent. I swear this stuff will hold your hairsyle for 12 hours staight with no falling limp at all. I have shoulder length highlighted hair (dark brown with blonde streaks) & if I need a full bouncy hair or a updo (sounds like a hair commercial) for a night out this is it. You won't have to touch your hair all night.
