I've been using this brush for 4 years now. I couldn't live without it. My face doesn't feel clean if I don't use it. The bristles are super soft so it exfoliates without hurting your skin. The texture of my skin is so much better since I've been using this brush.

This is an excellent face brush. You don't need to use this with a foaming cleanser or use a lot of cleanser ( I always think natural, chemical-free cleansers are better anyhow). You just need to make sure you keep your face wet, which you can easily do by rinsing the brush under water. Make sure to clean & dry the brush well. Having used tons of skincare products over the years, with very little success, this brush actually works & will improve your skin. Be careful of some of the other scratchier ones. This one is perfect for sensitive skin.

bloody ordinary and definitely not worth the money. Actually sucks up my cleanser like crazy. Don't bother buying. Its got soft bristles all right but they're so spaced that they do a bad job of massaging. You'd get a better result using your own fingers and saving your money. Their freebie brushes from years ago are heaps better.

Adequate brush, but like the reviewer below, I bought this to replace my old Shiseido brush which also lasted for ages. There is no comparison. Its just too soft and the rather long bristles are too widely spaced to manage much of anything at all.

Felt like I was trying to brush and the bristles just sort of gave way and the harder you press, the more it gives. I also can't seem to work up much of a foam with my usual cleanser (and there was NO change in cleanser, so that can't be it) and it seems to need more product to achieve the same result. Face still getting clean in a very slow, roundabout and pricey(more product used) way and I'll still use it since I paid quite a bit for it but wouldn't repurchase. Bit if a disappointment really compared to the previous brush.

This is very much for someone who just wants a light massage/very light cleaning only. If you're looking to get the skin really clean, this is not for you.

overall it's not a great help in terms of cleansing my face. it doesn't foam my cleanser well and is awkward to use. not worth the money. like another user on the mua, i too only use it to rinse off clay mask.

I just purchased Shiseido's Skincare Cleansing Massage Brush exactly a week ago from today. This purchase was made after the really eager sales consultant wanted to give me a facial. I asked for her to pull out the Cleansing Massage Brush to use on me. I liked the sensation... so I decided to take it home.

I've used a similar, more inexpensive brush from Sally's beauty store and it lasted a good 4 or 5 months before the bristles on the brush became very gnarly and actually started scratching my skin. The Shiseido bristles appear to not have the potential of becoming that way and treating my skin so badly. Furthermore, makeup rarely stains the bristles of this brush which is unlike other brushes I've used. I think that is the most positive aspect of this brush other than the stand/case. The case is funky, but it helps to keep your brush standing inverted so it can effectively dry out without harboring bacteria and other stuff that will provide you with more acne.

As far as improving circulation and degree of exfoliation, I am not completely sure yet. I believe that some of those cheap handheld microdermabrasion kits are fantastic for circulation and elasticity because they vibrate. However, my skin does feel soft after cleansing with this brush. I also use this brush on a soap bar instead of foaming cleanser because despite my oily skin, a lot of foaming cleansers aggrivate my acne. So even though it says to use a foaming cleanser, so far I've been using a bar and it has yet to destroy the bristles.

For $21.50 and after 1 week, I am still experimenting with this product. Will update my review later on.
UPDATE: I use this brush everyday and have found the bristles staying as soft as the day I bought it and also not stained by makeup. Because I am no longer using my fingers to clean my face, my complexion has taken a positive turn. Its not good for all types of cleansers though (gentle cleansers tend not to do well with this brush, but bar soaps, foaming cleansers, etc. work well). I am glad I bought this brush, its been the best brush I've ever bought.

I bought this after reading the rave reviews here and I’m happy with it too. It’s not cheap but I think it’s worth every cent because I use only about half the amount of cleanser (Avene Cold Cream Gel) and it should last a while.

My skin is looking clearer and healthier and I don’t need to exfoliate as often.

I’ve used facial brushes before but I’ve found them quite harsh and ineffective. They also seem to get ‘ratty’ very quickly. I have very sensitive skin and this doesn’t irritate it at all. This lathers up cleanser well and so far has maintained its nice soft bristles.

I have a toothbrush (Oral B) with a similar combination of bristles and rubber things and it’s also really good.

The stand is quite handy to keep it clean & dry and prevent it from falling on the floor.

I was very disappointed when I went to replace my old Shiseido cleansing brush. I had had that brush for over ten years - it obviously had great stamina. When I went to repurchase and found it was discontinued, I bought this massaging brush. There are a few major differences. First, the old brush didn't have the rubbery massaging pieces in the brush, it was only bristles. In the old brush, the bristles were rather short and were very, very soft, and it was easy to work with the brush and get a lot of foam with whatever type of cleanser you used, and maneuver the brush quickly and efficiently anywhere nasal labial folds, the side of the nose, etc. The new brush - in addition to the massaging pieces and the actuall bristles being spaced too far apart, they are much longer than the hairs on the old brush, and I find this more difficult to get a good lather, and the maneuvering with the new brush has been awkward, even though I've been using it for a year now. I just keep feeling the brushes are going to fold over on themselves while I'm using them, and like I have to work harder and longer to do a thorough cleaning job. It's still a good brush and much, much better than any drugstore brush, and becuase it is expensive I will certainly continue to use it. But I don't notice any improvement in my skin or anything, I just know that my skin is getting clean, and there is no damage being done to it while being cleaned with this brush. I just wish it was shorter and more densely packed.

This is the second brush I own. I use it to rinse my clay mask off. It gives the extra boost exfoliating my skin and my face feels super clean minus the dryness afterwards. Will definitely repurchase.

I know im in the minority, but i just dont feel like the brush *does* anything for my skin. the bristles are so soft, and it feels nice, but they dont scrub at all and i didnt notice my cleanser lathering any better.
i rinsed my face off and there were still flakes.
probably good for someone with SUPER sensitive skin.
returning it to sephora.

This is the best and easiest way to clean your face. It works best with foaming cleansers like the benefiance foaming cream cleanser. It makes your skin feel like you have just had a very expensive spa facial. It is well worth the price which I think is about $30. It also holds up well and mine has lasted me a long time. There are many others that look similar but this one is really something special.

I love this brush so much that I bought two -- one for the sink and one for the shower. I may get a third to keep in my travel bag. It's effective and gentle -- even over your eyes. I use it with philosophy's real Purity cleanser and it foams just enough. I am a little puzzled about the little cover/stand that comes with it. The cover does help protect the brush when it is in my travel bag, though.

Very good brush! Two of my friends bought it and recommended it to me. Cost around 20 dollars but will last a long way. I use it every few days in the night and it is very comfortable and gentle.

Edit: 5 years later, I am STILL using the same brush I wrote about! HG!!!!!

A saleswoman at Parfumerie Douglas suggested this brush, and it is terrific. A real HG item. It is gentle, feels great, and exfoliates my skin without hurting it (I have rosacea). Unlike some other complexion brushes, the "bristles" are silicone and not scratchy at all, nor will the bristles rot. It has this cool plastic case that fits around the brush to enable you to stand it upright, or you can hang it up. According to the person at Parfumerie Douglas, these brushes last forever. I'd never used a complexion brush before, because I thought they would be harsh. This one isn't at all. Highly recommended!

I love this brush. It is not too harsh at all on my sensitive skin. It exfoliates just enough to leave a glow, but not too much that you can't use it every day. I usually use it once a day, or every other day and find that it really does leave my skin healthier looking and smoother. I like that it has the massage nubs, in addition to the super soft brush bristles. Like all Shiseido products, the packaging is beautiful.

I was so upset when I lost mine after years of use. I hurried to the counter and bought the replacement. Like their cottons, this brush helps you save in the long run because you use less product. Remember to rinse it clean every time and leave out in the sun once a week to kill off bacteria. I like the included plastic brush stand - it keeps the bristles off the counter and away from dirt.

Good brush generally, give my skin a pinkish healthy glow after i use it. However I notice that my skin get very oily (increase sebum production) if i use it everyday. SO I just use it twice a week now.
I clean it every 2nd time I use it with neutrogena deep cleansing gel to get rid of any bacteria.
The lady at the counter told me that u have to clean all residue off the brush, otherwise bacteria will grow on it. And she asked me to put it i nthe sun once in a while as sun acts as an anti-bac agent.
Good stuff!
