I love in a sunny state, but I hate wearing sunblock because my face gets oily and gross. I was looking for one now that the temperature is rising and summer is coming (but to use year-round). I usually gravitate towards high brands but I heard good reviews on this and just picked it up, completely expecting to hate it (like every other sunblock and most DS products). It's amazing! My skin feels matte within a few minutes. I wear it under make-up and it's great, doesn't slide off or anything. I've already been recommending it!

I have purchased this ss several times and will continue to do so. The texture is light weight. It's perfect for my combination skin/oily T-zone. I always wear it under make-up during the hot and humid summer months. Love the spf 30 protection also my skin does better with chemical ss. This is a great ss for those with oilier skin.

This is my favorite sunscreen of all time! It doesn't have those weird smells that other sunscreen has and it dries really quickly. I have really oily skin so I hate using sunscreens in the summer because they all feel really greasy. This kind of feels like a primer, and it doesn't irritate my skin which is awesome.

I've got combination skin. I thought that my face was oily enough to try this out under my makeup (I wear Almay's Line Smoothing Makeup).
It left my face super, super dry. After wearing this for a week, I got dry patches on my cheeks and my upper lip was dandruffy. Awful.
I don't know how it would work alone, but under makeup it will murder your skin.
So Beware of this if you've got dry skin. Also, the price is very high. I live in Chile, so to the price you pay in the USA, add double.
I imagine that if your skin were super oily, then this would work well for you (but I mean SUPER OILY).
If it were on sale, I'd buy it again for my chest. Not for my face. However, for the chest and arms you've got Banana Boat's Ultra Defense Ultra Sheer sunblock that is just as good and way cheaper. So no... I guess I wouldn't purchase this again.
The only thing I really liked was the packaging. The cap is a great idea as those plastic snap-off caps don't last very long.

This product was no less greasy and shiny on my skin than any other sunblock I've tried. Very misleading. Not worth the price. The only good thing about it is that it does its job in protecting the skin from the sun so I have given it a 2 instead of a 1.

I thought this would be a good sunscreen for my face. The first day, it was ok, but halfway through the second day, it was burning my skin on the chin. A week later, the skin on my chin has not stopped peeling and is still so sore and senstive.
I now use it on my arms and chest and no reaction there. I don't even consider myself to have sensitive skin, but there's is something in this sunscreen that is not good. I would test a small patch first for a couple of days to ensure your face can tolerate this.
19/12/10 update. Cannot wear this on my body either as it made my skin itch like crazy. Also broke out on hives. The only good thing to come out of all this, is that I discovered Anessa.

The important stuff: this sunscreen feels AMAZING. It's incredibly light weight and it's one of the few sunscreens out there that just vanishes after you put it on. You don't feel it at all during the day (it even makes your skin feel smoother), which is incredible considering I have oily skin and I normally shine like a lightbulb with any sort of sunscreen on. The smell is light and fresh, so it doesn't bother me at all.
However, a downside to how quickly/easily this sunscreen absorbs into your skin is that it doesn't really work under makeup. It works fine by itself, but once you start to put on powder makeup or something similar on top, it can quickly dry out your skin. I would recommend this for outdoor activities or everyday use when you don't have much makeup on. If you're a heavy makeup user, I would recommend getting a lotion with sunscreen in it instead.

This is a wonderful SPF if your face is extremely oily. This does not add any extra sheen to my face at all. I usually follow this with Laura Mercier Powder Foundation and I think for my excessively oily skin, this is the best look I get.
April 17/2011 - this is still the best summertime SPF/makeup combo for me. I can use a full tsp. of this Neutrogena sunscreen on my face without looking like a greasy mess. Superb sunscreen that even doesn't clog my huge pores! Just make sure to use a good makeup remover before cleansing at night.
June 25, 2011 - Oh my goodness! This worked well for me for quite awhile and then clogged pores and TONS of milia on my face. Back to Sofina SPF50 (why did I change my SPF? No clue.) until I find something better. As far as shine went, the Neutrogena was the best for my super oily skin. Sigh.

Love this sunscreen, and so does my husband. It does irritate my eyes a little, but after a week or so of using, it no longer bothered me. No breakouts whatsoever, and stays fairly matte and is not sticky on your face. It also mixes very well with LM oil-free foundation for a DIY TM and even with the LM mineral powder, and lessens the need to powder my face during the day. It is very inexpensive and worth trying. Also note, I find the spf 30 much better than the spf 45, which caused irritation and a rash, and also looks shinier on.
**update: gives me little bumps on my forehead now so down a lippie. Still use it on my body, though.

Really like this product! I've never been a fan of sunscreen especially on my face because it makes me feel oily but this sunscreen goes on smooth and leaves your skin feeling soft and keeps it protected from the sun. For the price it is worth a try.

I have been using this product for a more than a year now. When I first got it, I was so excited to try it since I heard rave reviews that this is the perfect sunscreen for those with extremely oily skin and most importantly, break-out free.
Well, I definitely had experienced some breakouts around my oily t-zone area. Despite the matte finish it gives, my skin still becomes oily after a few hours. However, I have found that applying a sheer layer of powder over this suncreen keeps the oilies well under control. Not bad, but I probably would still try something with more of a physical sunscreen.

I LOVE this stuff! This is what I put on immediately after showering in the morning--no lotion, just sunblock, every single day. It absorbs perfectly and really is "dry to touch" without being TOO drying. It just feels like you have a light powder on. I have used this every day for the past four years and I wish I had started when I was 10 years old. Foundation smooths on easily and doesn't streak--I even think the dry-touch technology helps control my oil production, too. Sometimes I dab milk of magnesia over this sunblock before foundation and that works well too. This plays very well with others! I love this sunblock. Too expensive to use on my body, but a tube lasts about 3 months on my face only.

This stings my eyes even when I avoid the area. It also burns my face. It pills up when applying makeup over it, and it flakes throughout the day. What is the point of a sunscreen that flakes off? This should be called Ultra Dry Flaky Touch! I was also still oily in my T-zone by the end of the day. I returned it, and got my precious money back.

I have very thin, sensitive, and acne-prone skin with unbalanced hormones especially near those oh-so-horrible monthly days. I heard pretty good reviews and I've always wanted to try it - so here it is, in my hand!
I was really scared putting it on because I was concerned about the high rating on the EWG website, AND since I breakout easily, but I just gave it a go one day and decided it wasn't too bad.
So far, I LIKED how it was a very light creamy texture that absorbed very fast, didn't breakout my skin( so far ), and didn't feel as heavy as other sunscreens.
I DIDN'T LIKE how the fragrance was too much for me to handle; from the bottle, it smelled light and I thought it wouldn't cause problems.. but when it was on my face, it gave me a slight headache for a while, until the smell faded away. arrgh. Also, for some reason it made my face a little bit more pinkish red, so that was a definite no-no for me.
Overall I wouldn't buy this again - I really wanted to like it! :'( I just wish there was no fragrance, didn't make my face pinkish, and wasn't so harsh on the chemicals.. I guess I'm still on the lookout for a safer zinc/titanium dioxide based sunscreen/sunblock :
However, my relatives have tried it and they said it was fine(they don't have as sensitive skin) - unfortunately for those extremely sensitive-skin people out there, let's find a better sunscreen together! :'D

I always like looking at USA sunscreen formulas, in AUS this would be labeled spf 15, our spf 30 has even more sunscreen actives but even its protective factor will not save it today.
I enjoyed this sunblock until i found a better one by paulas choice, then realized it was not worth putting up with. I must ad that this might work for you and it is cheap and that is a plus which means you wont be afraid to use enough of it for protection. However I found it too sticky and gross for daily use and dreaded putting it on, i dislike the fragrance neutrogena have added I assume to cover up the traditional sunblock smell but i like fragrance free so much more than any smell that has been added to a product.
I suppose it is a hard fact to get around but high SPFs feel tacky, they leave a residue that is unpleasant, lower spfs which are nicer are problematic but I dont sit in the sun so only rely on sunscreen for incidental sunlight exposure. So disappointingly this product is not for me. just bear in mind that there are better formulations but sadly there definitely worse sunblocks than this

HG sunscreen :D <3 The only sunscreen that can tame my annoying, oily, shiny skin!!! Doesn't have any sunscreen/fragrance scent at all. Does exactly everything it claims: fast absorbing, leaves skin soft & smooth :) <3 Love love love :) <3 Would I purchase this again? Heck yeshhhhhhhh :D <3

Great stuff! Very little scent, no stickiness, and no white residue. I have this in SPF 30 for body and SPF 50 for the face. Not for daily use, but whenever I'm outside for a long period of time, I protect with this. It's expensive, but worth it to protect without the sticky gross feeling of other sun blocks. Love, love, love it!

I love this sunscreen! It’s probably the best sunscreen I’ve ever tried! It applies smoothly, it spreads easily and doesn’t leave a white cast on my dark skin. It’s probably the best sunscreen I’ve tried in that regard. Not only that, but it also doesn’t leave my skin oily and shiny, but nice and smooth. When I touch my face, it feels so nice and smooth, which means a great base for makeup! But I have tried makeup with this on, and I honestly didn’t see any difference in application. I also love the scent, which is nice and musky.
The packaging is great as well. I actually love the matte feel of it. I ACTUALLY like touching it lol, and running my hands all over it. I actually don’t feel it dirties easily as some reviews have said. You can actually throw this into your handbag and not feel it will squirt all over the contents of your bag, because the screw-on lid is that secure.
Another pro is that the EWG website says this sunscreen is proficient in protecting you against the “aging rays” not just the burning rays, as evident by the SPF, which is a good thing ladies, as I’ve read there are many sunscreens on the market that are just proficient in protecting you against the UVB rays, not the UVA rays as well, which is just as important. Such as *cough cough* Jan Marini’s Antioxidant Daily Face Protectant SPF 30. Which costs like, $70 I must add! Grrr, and numerous others as well.
Just a couple of cons though. It’s a bit expensive for a drugstore sunscreen. It gives you a lot less for the price they’re selling it to you, compared to other brands, such as Olay. The second thing, on the EWG website this is rated a 7. Which is not good. It means it has a high toxicity level kudos to some of the ingredients, such as oxybenzone, etc. Here is the link if you want to check it out. A 7-10 rating on that website means to avoid it at all costs. I’m not trying to shove this down people’s throats, but if you’re cautious of these kind of things, such as harmful ingredients you might want to take a look at it. Take it for what you will.
http://www.ewg.org/2010sunscreen/finding-the-best-sunscreens/51964/Neutrogena-Ultra-Sheer-DryTouch-Sunblock-SPF/
On that alone I don’t know if I’d want to buy this again. I mean on a long term basis, this could give me cancer or some crap. I don’t want that. But that would be hypocritical of me as I do use other cosmetics that have a high toxicity level as listed on EWG website. *sigh* Beauty IS pain! So back to Solar Keys RX for me. Which is the best sunscreen with moisturiser I’ve tried with all natural ingredients. But alas, gives me a white cast! What is a girl to do?
Although I wouldn’t bag out this sunscreen. It’s still pretty good, I’d recommend it and I’d still buy it again, something that I rarely do. I’d just use it off and on over the years. *shrugs*
