First of all, I think this is a great product as it is. It goes perfect on my very dry/sensitive skin, never ever emphasizes any flakes or breakouts, also it's buildable coverage so I don't remember the time I last used a concealer with it.
My main issue is that the colour oxidize big time. At least my pink-based 3.75 (which is not a perfect match but it was the closest I could get) turns out to be very orange sometimes. And I believe it is a fail in packaging: some foundation stays in the pump, gets oxidized and then goes out with a fresh portion.
I like that despite the fact it is a 'luminous' foundation it doesn't have any shine to it, but it does magic with tired-looking face and 'dull' skin. So, you probably won't notice anything if your skin already looks radiant, rested and healthy.
Will I re-purchase this foundation? Definitely, if I'll find a better-matching colour.

This foundation is definately my go-to foundation and I'm hesitant to try anything else. It glides on and blends beautifully - I am a #8 Caramel and the colour is perfect. However - there are cons. This foundation slips/transfers very easily and I find that throughout the day at work I am smudging the foundation onto my hands when I touch my face and it can end up on my paperwork - so if you are combination/oily, like me, you will need to powder up in the morning and blot throughout the day. Also, this is in no way a heavy coverage - while it does a beautiful job of evening out the complexion, if you have acne scarring or severe blotchiness, I would stick with something like a EL Double Wear or Revlon CS. Yet I still will not try anything else due to its lovely finish and colour match. All in all - gorgeous, natural finish that glides onto the skin - but this is certainly not a long-wearing, high coverage foundation.

Love this foundation. I have this in 3.75 which is pink ivory which is the most perfect match I've ever encountered. I would say its a sheer to medium coverages which is luminous but not oily even over moisturiser. This is what I wanted sheer glow mont blanc to be like, unfortunately that broke me out whereas this one doesn't. Will definitely rebuy.

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in 5
- expensive at $59
- luminous finish
- light to medium coverage
- great clean, fresh scent
- no spf, photographs well
- doesn't oxidize
- unfortunately, poor lasting power on my very oily skin

In my blog post I swatched it next to the following:
MAC Studio Finish Concealer NW20
DiorSkin Forever Flawless Perfection Fusion Wear Makeup SPF 25 in 020
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua SPF 15 B20 Beige Tendre
NARS Sheer Glow in Light 4 / Deauville (the pump was purchased separately)

Love, love, love this foundation. Definitely the best I've purchased. Definitely improves the texture and evenness of the skin. I have very pale skin and colour 2 maches perfectly. Sometimes available on strawberrynet which makes it a little more affordable as it's an expensive foundation in Australia.

I need to apply this with my fingers for it to look nice and really blend it in. Using a brushes or the beauty blender just leaves it looking splotchy. The wear time is good but in heat and humidity it will begin to separate on my face. I like the finish of it and the texture feels light but for the price I think the foundation should blend more easily and not put every skin imperfection on display which it seems to do.

Okay, I splurged and it's not even my birthday D:
I got samples for this foundation about a month ago all in the 4 ranges, and I thought this was one crappy foundation. It left my face looking dry, pale, and gross. But I decided I was in Nordstrom's the other day and thought what the heck, might as well try and get a match as the Dior lady put a crap load of Airflash on my face resulting in me being SO self-conscious.
In the store I was matched to a 5.5 (NC25-30 for reference since that's what I always look for), and I felt it looked awesome. I liked the finish, the coverage, etc. I bought it. When I went outside, I looked like I was blushing... EVERYWHERE. Way to pink for me! I called and another lady said that I should go with 5.75 a color with more golden undertones. I went the next day and ANOTHER lady told me I should go with 6.5. So confusing -_- Please just give me the damn matching color you know? But I took the 5.75 as I read a lot of you ladies matched best with that and I just took a sample of the 6.5.
However, I wore this foundation today, and let me tell you - so worth the hassle. I adore this finish. It lasts on me all day (it is now 1:40am and I put this on at 11am) and it still looks wonderful in coverage. Just an fyi, I set it with Diorskin Nude Fresh Glow Powder or whatever, I know that name is very close to what I wrote!
Anywho, LOVE THIS FOUNDATION! And it photographs beautifully! Highly recommend! <3 Only downfall is what it costs.

Okay, I admit that I don't often spend this much on a single makeup item. I originally got this about 6 mos ago cause I had a store credit and was feeling a bit indulgent. However, I hated it at that time, the SA matched me to color 4, and when I got home, it was waayyy too light for my NW20 skin (which is a bit ruddy in spots, a little more neutral in others). Every imperfection showed, it looked awful. I took it back and was rematched to 4.75. Again, got home and it was awful, too pink and I looked dead. Since I don't often wear regular foundation anymore, preferring TM, I put it in the back of the drawer. A month ago I found it, along with the receipt and decided to return it. The new SA encouraged me to try again, and this time matched me to color 5. OMG. It immeidately melted into my skin, looked almost imperceptible and blurred all my imperfections. Went outside and it still looked great in bright sun. I generally don't get real excited about a product, but this really does look great and might change my mind about not wearing foundations. While I have put it on with a sponge and with a brush, the truth is it looks fine when I apply with my fingers. I would call it a light/medium coverage. Don't know about buildability since I don't look for heavier coverage, my skin isn't great, but this blurs some of the spots. I am 53, but this makes my skin look a lot younger. The finish is not really luminous, perhaps a little more satiny. Dont know about how long it might last; I don't wear foundation to work due to wearing a mask, but it still looks great 4-5 hours after I apply it. The pump is fine, but I find that I have to really control how hard I push on it, I don't want to waste this stuff at this high price. Anyways, I would recommend definitely buying this in person, rather that online, and possibly taking home a few samples to insure a good match. Since I don't wear it much, I imagine I won't need to re-purchase it for a very long time, but if it continues to work as good as it does now, I would definitely rebuy.

I'm so pleased I have found this foundation and can't reccomend it enough. It's a perfect consistency, it covers imperfections while feeling light and luxurious. I love the finish, it seems to be the perfect combo of matte/satin. I thought when the girl gave me 5.75 it would be too pale on my skin but with a sweep of bronzer it looks fab. All in all it's pricey but oh so worth it :)

I really wanted to like this foundation. But I think it's just nothing really special. I mean, it gives a nice glow, staying power is ok, I don't really need a powder..that's nice. But you can't layer this foundation very well - Armani says that you can apply 24(!!) layers, so I thought 2-3 layers in the areas where needed were ok..but no. It also emphasizes my pores. When I want a really beautiful, luminous foundation, I reach for the Vitalumiere.

I usually use the Giorgio Armani luminous silk foundation in the summer, as I find it is lighter and gives a more luminous glow than my regular foundation (MUFE HD Foundation). I usually buy a shade darker in this than my normal color, because I really find that you can get away with it. Overall, I think this is a great foundation. It is very moisturizing, your skin looks very dewy and in my opinion, it does have great coverage. I also find that it makes my skin look AMAZING in photos, as if I had no make up at all. Unfortunately, it is quite expensive, but I only purchase about one bottle a year.

I was hoping good things with this foundation. The first time I wore it, I looked flawless. Then I noticed I broke out in pimples from it all on my forehead. Second time wearing it looked dull and no dewy texture.

All i can say is if you have sensitive skin stay clear as it will cause breakouts .

I initially had a love/hate relationship with this product. When I first tried it, it made me look too 'luminous'/ aka gave a sweaty appearance. A few months later, I tried it again; but this time with a different moisturiser and it looked completely different. So I will base my review on the latter; as I have since changed my moisuriser. This product gives a flawless finish with a subtle luminosity. It comes in a great range of colours however they are a bit on the yellow side. I am MAC NC15 and take the #4 in this product (it was the only fair one with a pink-ish tinge). It doesn't break me out (miracle; as other products do) and it doesn't dry out my skin. There are 2 downsides to this product (1) PRICE and (2) Not long-lasting. This foundation won't really take you from morning through to evening if you are looking for flawless+ longevity. But; it is definitely one of the great foundations I have used. I am a makeup artist and I have tried many; Armani is just a brand that I keep going back to time and time again.

** Updated review **
Have kept trying new foundations, as I am not keen on spending so much for my kit, but honestly - NOTHING is better than this foundation. The finish is just beautiful. It also photographs beautifully. Perfect on most, if not all skin types.

This is my HG foundation. Flawless look when powdered with Ben Nye Banana powder or MAC Prep & Prime pressed powder (if I desire a matte finish). I own several foundations but reach for this more than any other, has buildable coverage.
I'm shade 10 (yellow undertones). I also wear Bobbi Brown 6.5, Mac Matchmaster 7.5.
I would rate five stars but, it's a little pricey and available mostly at high end deparment stores.

I recently got a tester of this in shade 5.5 from David Jones, as iv heard good reviews about it & have wanted to try it. However, im very glad i didnt jump in & buy it straight away as i wont be buying it after having tried it for 2 days.
I have normal, clear skin & after wearing it for the day i woke up the next morning with broken out skin! I found it to be medium coverage, it feels uncomfortable and slides off easily. Im not a fan of this foundation at all. I would suggest getting a tester first or going in and having it put on and wear it for a day or night before spending the money.

@ Niro77, try shade number 10, that should work better for you. I mix shade 10 and 11.5 because I have 2 undertones -yellow and red. I have a picture here with #10, and a little dash of 11.5....hope this helps.

This foundation has good coverage (medium to full) and its really easy to apply. However it does not stay on long, after about 5 hours of wearing this, foundation on my face looked seperated and shiny. I do not have oily skin type, however my face felt really sticky - the foundation was rubbing off on my fingers and clothes. Also, I think this product broke me out, had few breakouts after using this. WIll not purchase it. I still prefet Lasting Silk UV.
Update: This foundation broke me out, so I leave only 2 stars.
