I have been using this since my now almost gone rosacea, was kicking up several years ago. This takes off my colorstay foundation fabulously and does not leave an oily feeling on my face, just leaves it clean and not tight. I use a washcloth to remove the cleanser and makeup as just trying to rinse it off would not be sufficient since the cleanser is thick and creamy. I know the ingredients are not oil free, but this does not seem to cause any problems. I only use it at night to remove makeup and use a completely oil-free gentle cleanser in the AM. A great product for $2.50!

A great facial cleanser and mu remover combo. Took off my face makeup well, but had trouble with my waterproof mascara, it wasn't so hot in that department. However, overall, this is a really gentle, nice cleanser, that , like all the St. Ives products works so well for so little money.

I've been looking for this awhile, so I was really happy to spot a few tubes at a Duane Reade in NYC (yes, this is what I do when I vacation in other cities--look for beauty items I can't find here--sad). Anyway, bought both since this is discontinued and they were marked down to two-something each. This comes in a pale yellow squeeze bottle with a flip top--excellent. Has a light, creamy, lemony scent--yummy. It's a cream cleanser that cleanses and takes off makeup effectively but without drying the skin. There is a slight residue-feeling left after rinsing, so I guess that's the moisturizing. I will hold off on using this on a daily basis until winter, when my combo/oily skin becomes combo/very dry. Overall, a good buy. Try it if you can find any around. (Will update if it breaks me out or does something funky but I'm happy, overall.)

Mild Rosacea, Sensitive-Combination-Dry Skin--> This cream cleanser is one of my newest & favorite drugstore finds. This cleanser is like a traditional cold cream (think Pond's) but in a squeeze tube..I found it to be very easy to spread on my face and it removed my make-up with ease! I let it sit on for about a minute, dampen a cotton square, work the product all over my face, and rinse! No greasy residue and my skin feels hydrated. There are various degrees of Rosacea so this product may not work for all but does for me. The scent is pleasant and almost reminds me of lemon meringue. Creamy, rich, and smooth but cheap/effective! Thumbs up!

Not a big fan of this stuff. Picked it up at Wal-mart for $3, hoping it would remove makeup at night. The texture was rather waxy, and the cream didn't foam up. I ended up massaging it into my skin and rinsing it off. Although it rinsed clean, when I applied toner afterwards with a cotton ball, I found that quite a bit of foundation had been left on my face. Additionally, since I have oily skin, the cleanser did not leave my face completely clean. Overall, a pretty cheap cleanser with average performance, designed mainly for those who use extremely light makeup and have dry skin.
UPDATE: seems to clog pores :(

good stuff, esp for travel. but it does smell like lemon pledge. too bad. also... i think with continued use it irritated my skin (because of all the chemicals in the ingredients)... now and then it's ok--but not for every day!

I am writing a review for the makeup remover and facial cleanser in one. It is almost white colored very lightly scented creamy non foaming cleanser in a lovely yellow tube. I apply it directly on my face without water and it takes off makeup nicely. It is easily rinsed off with warm water and leave my face soft without greasy after feel. For $2.99, you can't beat the price!

This has been a staple of mine for many years to take off make-up. Oddly I have oily skin and this doesn't affect my skin. This is ungodly cheap and I will repurchase this item.

I bought this for $2-something at Target (at least now it's called "St. Ives Makeup Remover & Cleanser..w/ soothing chamomile). I was scared it would be like cold cream since the 2nd ingredient was mineral oil, but since the rest of the ingredient list looked normal and it said to rinse off (instead of tissue off), I decided to try it. I'm glad I did. It's a nice thick gentle non-lathering cream cleanser. I hate the usual watery types, and foaming cleansers are too drying. This stuff worked perfectly. It seemed to clean really well. It rinsed off easily and completely. I didn't feel the need to go over my skin with rosewater & glycerin either - it didn't need any extra moisturizer. My skin felt both clean and residue free, and soft and undry. Neither tight nor oily. It removes light-medium makeup; but those with medium-heavy makeup will still need to use a makeup remover or wash twice or follow with toner(I've found this to be the case with all cleansers though, including industrial-strength foaming ones, so I don't consider it a fault of this cleanser). I've been using this cleanser for several months now (and I don't normally rebuy products). It's my HG cleanser by far. No other cream cleanser has worked anywhere near as well as this one (and all of those were more expensive too). I also have acne prone skin, and my skin is now clear (combination of not needing moisturizer due to this cleanser, and my non-drying Rx topical antibiotic - klaron lotion). The packaging is nice too. It comes in a flip top squeeze tube, and is the perfect size to wield - not too big, not too small). It is also really cheap at under $3/tube. I can only find it at Target (none of the drugstores or supermarkets around me carry it).

This is the best facial cleanser I have EVER used. Before I found this I had tried everything to get my face to stop breaking and then when I used this it was like presto clear face. When I use this my face is never dry or oily and it takes off any make-up I wear including eye liner. I have recommened this to friends and family, and they all loved it!

After 1 week I had the worst breakout I've had in 5 years. I think maybe it was the mineral oil? It's a known comedogenic. I started using the medicated apricot scrub at the same time so it could have been that but I am not willing to take the chance to find out. Also made my oily skin extremely oily.

Excellent cleanser at an incredibly low price. Removes all my make up with no irritation or residue.I wish I have discovered this product much earlier. It performs better then many other higher priced cleansers.

Performance Excellent! This cleanser doesn't make my skin feel tight and dry afterwards. I can wash my face twice over and it still feels moisturized.
Skin type Normal with slight shine

I have used this product as an eye makeup remover and was very satisfied with it. It did not irritate my eyes or eye area, did not dry out my skin and took off my waterproof mascara without too much rubbing. I did not use it as a face cleanser.
I would not hesitate to repurchase this as an eye makeup remover.

This is a very good nondrying cleanser for winter use for my oily skin. It leaves your skin feeling clean and soft. And it's cheap compared to most drugstore cleansers.

I have combo skin and this is the first cream cleanser that actually removes my eye makeup but doesn't make my skin oily. The smell is wonderful and not overpowering.

This is a very good cleanser for dry skin, at a fabulously low price. It takes a bit of rubbing to remove waterproof mascara, but I just put some on my eyelashes before I wash the rest of my face, so it has a chance to break the mascara down a bit. It has a nice, light smell (much better than Ponds) and a creamy (but not greasy) consistency. It also rinses away very cleanly. The only improvement would be to offer it in a regular bottle with pump.

Even though this is also supposed to be a makeup remover, this cleanser doesn't quite take all my eye makeup off my face; but then again, it's probably because I usually wear waterproof. At any rate, it has a pleasant scent and my skin always feels really smooth afterward.
