This is an absolutely gorgeous plummy matte shade with a little maroon in there--the perfect foil for Paradisco or Jete. Trax and some of the other shiny, frosty plums look like bad bruises, hence "shiners". No "black-eye" effect with Blackberry, however! Love it and will repurchase forever. Respectfully submitted, colormepink

I use this wet with my MAC angle brush as a liner only. I pair this with MAC Orb shadow and it gives a bit of punch, but still a nice daytime look. It also goes well with pinks/taupes such as Lancome Bermuda Sunrise color dose or some of the shimmery beige Red Earth shadows. A basic tool for my beauty arsenal. Lasts all day and doesn't chip.

Blackberry is a mette, dull plum. This didn't do anything for me.

I have had this color for YEARS and though it's not an everyday staple for me, it is a great color for girls with light eyes (green in particular). Its not a stand out shade (in comparison to all the other MAC shadows). Its a matte dark berry, but I think it looks beautiful in the crease with Shale on the lid (to give it some shimmer) and some Vanilla on the browbone. If you are going to take pictures this combo is nice because its not frosty so it doesn't reflect off the camera. If you NEED shimmer added wear Stilife paint as an allover base, then apply the shadows and put shroom or naked lunch over vanilla in the brow. All in all a good color.

This shadow looks pretty boring in the pan, but is actually a shadow I reach for when I use burgundies or purples. This is a dark berry matte shadow with a bit of brown and purple in the shade. I love to use this in the crease and along the lashline with Violet pigment and Kitchmas as a highlighter. Definitely a must-have MAC shadow, a great basic for your collection.

Received as an extra in a swap and I like it well enough--it's not the blue-based, dark purplish color I was expecting, given the name, but is actually a dark maroon that can look medium/chocolate (hint of red) brown on certain skintones. Used wet, it's dark enough for lining (looks great against dark eyes) but dry, works well as a smoldery kind of crease color. Probably won't repurchase when I run out (and may not even keep this shade since Trax or Milani's Marooned fulfills my "deep maroon" e/s requirements) as it's not a particularly special color (and I only drop excess dough on unusual/weird shades).

I've been wearing this for 10+ years. It must have been one of MAC's original shades. It's a lovely deep plum color which, like all such colors, requires careful application & blending. Spectacular for the brown-eyed among us.

Blackberry should be renamed Blah. Blackberry eyeshadow is the second MAC product I ever owned. I bought it with Yogurt. Both colors are billed as tame and appropriate for everyday wear. I believe Blackberry is a Matte e/s. I find it to be extremely dull. As with all the MAC flip-top pots, I am satisfied with the packaging. Bottom line: I would not buy Blackberry again. I'd invest in another pot of Trax (which I already own) instead. I rate it a 2 because the matte nature of it makes it hard to blend and for its extremely dull shade. I think that although I have quite pretty green eyes and one would assume a blackberry shade would look great with them, the dull, matte blackberry doesn't exactly make them pop.

Not the best eyeshadow for me. Although I am an NC55, all this color does is look muddy on my already pigmented eyelids. Probably because the color itself shows up as more of a deep, flat brown than anything else. So, the plum undertones that I see in the pan never really transfer when I apply this. Not as flattering as I thought it would be.

This is the ultimate for any green eyed gal! Unfortunately I don't wear that much e/s anymore. However, for those few nights that I do this is the nicest colour to play with. Colour is a purple, wine & its matte.

This is a "muted burgundy plum" as the MAC site describes it. It is a matte shade. I pair it with Dovefeather (a light muted purple color) mostly. It also looks great with Jest as a base (frosty peachy shade).

This eyeshadow color is nice but the pigment and texture suck! It goes on sort of choppy and it's tough to pick up color on the applicator. It's almost too dry or something. Also, this shade has a tendency to harden up and it makes it difficult to use. It's a shame because it's a very nice burgundy-tinted plummy brown shade.

Another MAC winner. I'm very fair and this works on me if it's not too dark, so anyone can wear this shade. I even wear it to my very conservative work. I've never had a blending/drying out problem with my MAC shadows. Ever.

This is good for a smoky plummy look, just a basic shadow, nothing too special.

I use this as a liner. It looks great when I want a natural look. I use it on my top lid, smudged into the lashline. Great, natural color!

Maybe I was just having an off morning, but I found Blackberry nearly impossible to blend, which is strange because I never have a problem blending my other MAC shadows (and I own a lot). However, this color is a beautiful plum color - perfect in the crease and not too dark for daytime wear. I don't think I will repurchase this because MAC makes a few other shadows that are a similar color, I think I will check those out for texture and blendability. :-)

the shadow was okay...it seemed to not want to a) put any color on the brush and b) stick to my eye lids.
blackberry in one word...boring.

I have olive skin and I sweep this over my lids with Intoxicate, a shadow almost exactly the same color but slightly darker, in the crease. It is a plummy matte eyeshadow, very easily blendable as all Mac shadows are. Beautiful and flattering.

First off unless you have darker or olive skin this should not be used all over the lids. This is best used for a liner and smokey eye look in place of black. I used this the other day and applied w/ MAC liner brush just above the top lashes and at the outter edges of the lower lashes and it's gorgeous! I never have don this look before and I really Im glad I gave it a try! Really works when you're wearing earthtones and want your eyes to be more bold, but not over done or too smuldering as black creates. I wore Prrr lipglass mixed with Implish to tone down the pearliness a tad and it looked really pretty w/ Blackberry eyeshadow. Blackberry is a deep deep plum mixed w/ dark brown. It's medium pigmented and can be layered easily. If I being super fair skinned can wear this anyone can! Just gotta know how best and when to use it in combo w/ your outfit and lip color.
