I purchased this a couple of weeks ago. I have oily skin especially in the summer and I love how this controls the oil on my face. It is a bit hard to blend but I really like the finish of this foundation. It does not give me that cakey look, just a nice healthy glow. My face does not get oily as much during mid-day (as compared to when I used other liquid oil free foundations) so that is important to me. And I have not had breakouts. The color is slightly too light for this time of the year but this will be a better color match in the fall. I use Beige 302 and I use MAC NC35 in powder fix, but NC30 in the MAC fluid foundations.

"Meh" is basically my feelings on this product- it was mediocre. It's not any different from a drugstore product at all, and frankly I find it worse than a majority of them. It doesn't blend well and I find that it does not cover what I want it to (this however might just be due to the fact that it's medium coverage instead of full). I will not be buying this again or really anything from Mary Kay.

Let me start saying that I don't have a lot of experience when it comes to foundation. The only one I tried before de MK one was one from Avon (wich I don't remember the name, but I believe it was from the cheapest range, Colortrend) - and that was a nightmare. So after that I decided that foundations were not good at all for oily/combination skin such as mine - until I tried this one. It gives a good coverage with a tiny amount of product, so it lasts a long time too. Of course I wouldn't use it when it's like 35ºC outside (any makeup would melt), but on normal days it stays fairly well without making my skin more oily than already is. As for holding back the oiliness (is that word correct?), I don't think it makes wonders, but I never saw any foundation that would. For that you might consider skin care treatment and a primer. Anyway, back to this product: great coverage, smooth skin, doesn't clog pores and is very light. Have repurchased several times already.

UPDATE (feb.2012): I am more experienced now on foundations, having tried Clinique Superbalanced and MAC Studio Fix. These two are very nice as well, but the Clinique one does not hold the oil at all during the summer. The MAC one is really handy because it's simple to apply, so the MAC and MK are the best foundations I have. Really satisfied, with both of them. For everyday I tend to use the MAC one since it is so simple and quick and easy and I can skip powder, but when I want something with a nicer finish and coverage, I reach for the MK one.

This foundation did not seem to be anymore special than what I can buy at a drug store. It feels nice when I wear it I do have to set it with a power and it looks nice but it is no better than any other liquid foundation.

My has been selling Mary Kay ever since I was a little girl, the only reason I do not like this product is because for a "medium-coverage" foundation it leaves my skin looking extremely cakey. It does not look natural at all! I do not like it.

EDIT: So I recently started using this foundation again but this time with a foundation brush and not the sponge and I must say I completely change my mind about this foundation. I guess foundation really also has to do with the way you apply it and with what. I like that I started using it again with the foundation brush, it comes out really beautiful and smooth, not cakey at all like I mentioned before in my review..

I used this mary kay foundation for years. It offers good buildable coverage, feels a bit sticky but dries to a good soft finish. I definitely required setting powder and touch ups thru-out the day to control oil, however I am extremely oily and I touch up ANY foundation that I have used.
Cons of this products are dealing with the Mary Kay Reps. I am not a fan of the "facial parties" nor the pushy tactics they use to get you to purchase the products. The price is good but once you purchase you are then on their calling/email list and it's all about getting you to become a rep yourself. This is the reason I do not use this anymore, I now walk into a drug store and buy Revlon colorstay and amazingly the girl behind the counter takes my money hassle free!!!

Good products just not a fan of the company.

I purchased this foundation based on the recommendation of a Mary Kay sales rep who convinced me that it would work for my oily/combination skin. Upon trying it out, I was really not impressed. i bought the color "Ivory 200" which is a light ivory color with yellow undertones (in the TUBE). When I first put the foundation on my skin the colour seemed right. However, after about 15 or 20 minutes, the foundation changed colour and had a slightly pink and ashy tone to it, completely unlike the original colour. The coverage I wouldn't even rightfully say is "medium", it is in fact very sheer and I had to layer on about 2 layers of this foundations, after which I still saw dark circles under my eyes. The texture was "sticky" and hard to blend. After the foundation set on my face and dried, my face literally felt tight and I felt like I was wearing a "mask". It failed to control the oiliness on my face. After about 30 minutes my T-zone was shiny while my cheeks and the areas under my eyes look really dry (NOT good). I was so dissapointed in this product that I returned it and got a refund.

Broke me out bad. I like some of Mary kays products but I have sensitive skin so this did not work. I like the Mineral Powder foundation better.

I do not like the lid on this tube of foundation AT ALL. It is too heavy for the tube and I am often knocking the tube over in my medicine cabinet. Otherwise I love this product. The ivory 104 shade matches my peaches and cream complexion perfectly and I love how little of it I use to cover my entire face. It doesn't control the oil on my nose as much as it claims it does, but my face feels and looks smooth and clean when I'm wearing it.

I received this foundation in a swap earlier this week and have been using it every day not. So far, I relaly like it. I don't have oily skin so I didn't notice anything in that department but it has great coverage thats really natural looking. Not mask-like, no caking, no smudge. It's a great foundation, I prefer powder but this liquid is something I will continue to use.

I really wanted to like this, especially because the price is so affordable compared to the high end stuff I usually use. Alas, it made me break out, and once my skin got worse, it did not cover up the blemishes at all. It goes on great and controls the oiliness on my skin - but I can't stand how it made ALL my existing pimples larger and inflame into whiteheads. Sad to say I'll be returning it and not buying Mary Kay again :(

I wouldn't say that this product is my HG, but it's a great product. I have oily skin and tend to look like a frying pan after 2 hours of applying my make up. This, however, helped lessen the oiliness of my face. I still got oily, but not as much as when I used bare minerals, everyday minerals, or revlon colorstay.

the only thing i don't really like about it is that it's liquid. I prefer powder foundations just to save me more time.

I use this foundation in Bronze 507. I have been using daily for about 3 years. This is my HG foundation. I began using on a whim. I started selling MK as a side job about 4 years ago. I didn't use most of the products, but I had many friends who did and decided to become a consultant. Anyway, they kept telling me how great the foundations were and I was using MAC and ending up with an orange, greasy mess on my face everyday and I figured this couldn't be any worse. I tried the Bronze 607, 600 and 507. Bronze 600 was too brown and 607 was too red. 507 has a nice golden color to it and it looks too light for me, but blends beautifully into my skintone. My favorite thing about this foundation is the way it dries quickly to a nice semi-matte finish, and it covers all flaws without being masky looking. I also dislike that it dries quickly, because you have to blend fast or it won't look right.
I use a variety of powders depending on the season. In winter and spring I use MAC C7 in summer and fall I use MAC MSFN in Dark or I use Dark if I want more color in my skin. I use MAC Blot Powder in Dark, but I rarely need to use it, as this foundation keeps the oilies away, for me.

Pros: Nice color match, dries quickly, $14 ($7 for me), lasts all day, squeeze bottle, a little goes a long way, buildable coverage.

Cons: Cannot buy in store; dries quickly

i bought this foundation and i got the full coverage one free. ive found that theres not that much of a difference between the two except the full coverage one is more oily, so if you have oily skin go for this one. i really like this foundation alot. i usually stick with cream foundationd because theyre not too thick and this foundation was amazing for a liquid foundation. its coverage is enough for me, and it doesnt look cakey or thick. my one complaint is the lasting power could be better. the only way it lasts long for me is if i use a setting powder with it. but overall its a great foundation.

I just purchased this product for the first time several days ago and am overjoyed. I'm not a fan of full-coverage foundations, as I have a natural blush and freckles, but I've been looking endlessly for a foundation that matched my skin tone, made me appear to be just the right amount of "dewy," and would brighten my face. I have had the hardest time finding a foundation to match my skin, as most foundations I've come across are too white, too pink, or too yellow. I had a local Mary Kay consultant point me in the direction of the Medium Coverage Foundation for Normal to Oily skin in Ivory 200, and I cannot believe how great of a match it is. This foundation is extremely blendable and breatheable and matches my skin perfectly. When I apply it, I don't have the appearance of someone who just applied foundation (if there's one thing I hate, it's a woman who has obvious foundation!), yet I look 100% better - brighter, dewy skin, with just the right amount of glow. I pair this with Mary Kay's concealer (for my eye area and any blemishes), and I look like I've been blessed with perfect skin!

I have very flaky skin. This is the only foundation that I have found that does not make the flakiness look worse. It does a good job of covering red undertones. It goes on smoothly and lasts all day. If I go out at night, I do need to reapply. I use full coverage in the winter and medium coverage in the summer.

I love the squeeze packaging. The price is $14.00 which is cheap for me compared to $34.00. Yellow base which I need to cover redness and lasts all day. Mycolor is 302 and will repurchase. Also, has a matte finish. I actually mixed it with my Double Wear for a porcelain matte look.

I really like this foundation. It gives nice natural coverage, and a soft matte finish. The color selection is good, and I'm glad they make a shade light enough for my fair yellow toned skin, I use shade Ivory 100. I do wear a foundation primer under this, and it works great. I apply this foundation with a sponge, which works best for me. It tends to get a little cakey if I apply it with my fingers, and its consistency is too thick to use a foundation brush, but the sponge works perfect! I hope they do not discontinue this foundation, like they did my Dual Coverage Powder Foundation (which I used as my setting powder).

Update: I'm not crazy about this. It looks just ok with a great powder on top, but the foundation itself separates after a while on your skin. I took away a lippie for this. It's still ok, better than drug store makeup, but I love Mary Kay's new Matte Wear Foundation MUCH better than this!

I do like the consistency of this foundation, and the medium coverage.. it's good for everyday, the color is natural. The tube is the best packaging in my opinion.. I like to get tiny little dabs to pat around my eye, and this tube is perfect for small amounts at a time.

Though it says medium coverage, it has pretty good coverage. I used it as a concealer instead of foundation. I am a NC/NW20 and ivory 100 actually works well for me. I really liked the coverage of this foundation, but it broke me out so I voted not to purchase the product again. great for those who want more coverage with a decently priced foundation ($15).
Hope this helps!
