The reason I bought this hair shampoo/conditioner was the fact that is was silicone-free and the smell was great! Used it for the first time and I must say, it really does make my hair smoother and manageable. But over the time, I realize my hair drops alot and I believe it must've been the conditioner that caused it. No doubt that my dry hair feels more oilier when I first used it. But it seems like my hair is immune to this product now and its back to being dry again. So, im still 50/50 over this product.

Really, really good for very dry hair that is coarse. Leave it in if it's super coarse like mine; it works well. Same for the conditioner!

I was pleasant surprised by the performance of this shampoo. I have thick, wavy hair, that's a bit dry toward the ends because of past highlights. This shampoo made my hair soft and shiny. Truly lives up to it's promises. Highly recommend!

I read all of the reviews after I bought this shampoo and I'm glad I didn't read them before. I love the shampoo. I did not use the conditioner because I was afraid it would make my hair too oily. The shampoo alone worked great. It is not meant for thin, fine hair! My hair is thick, coarse, dry, wavy, with tons of body. After using the shampoo my hair is sleek, soft, and very shiny. If you have my hair type, this shampoo is for you!

You know how some women live in fear of trying a new product on their facial skin due to sensitivity reactions? I fear shampoos/condtioners for the same reason, only for my scalp. Anything that upsets it can leave me in agony for months. EverSleek Repartive Smoothing Shampoo destroyed my scalp in exactly 2 uses...I had sores I haven't had for years. I know it was the shampoo because I wash only my roots and condtion only my ends...seems to work for me. I've never been able to pinpoint what exactly in a shampoo harms my scalp, but it's not sulfates, silicones, or parabens apparently. Who knows...fragrance, harsh ingredients that replace the sulfates, some other thing? I obviously won't ever touch another L'Oreal drugstore shampoo (although I use the Kerastase line without problem). If you have a sensitive scalp, procede with caution.

I've been using this shampoo and conditioner for 2 weeks now and I really like it. Based on some of the reviews saying that it left hair feeling dirty I was worried but that has not been the case for me. I have fine, straight, colored hair just past my shoulders. The bottom half of my hair is a bit dry and the top half is very healthy. The first few times I used this the top part of my hair looked oilier than usual on day 2. I always wash my hair every other day. I took care of that by using barrettes on day two after the first 2-3 washes but now it seems like my hair is used to it and day two is as good as it has been with any other shampoo. This leaves my hair soft and fluffy. I don't notice any particular smell. I like the packaging. I know a lot of MUAers prefer pumps but my experience with pumps is that you end up having to take the pump out on the bottom 1/4 anyway. So, the tube design is great for me. Having come off a couple of months of using Wen and Hair One I have developed a habit of rinsing my hair for a full count of 60-90 seconds. That may be why I haven't really had any problems with residue. By the way, I tried Ever Pure last year and I hated it. It left my hair very dry and gross. This isn't like that at all. Also, I think it lathers really well for a sulfate-free shampoo. If you're used to sulfate-free you will probably be surprised how well this lathers.

I tried this product in an attempt to try something sulfate free, which I know is better for your hair and scalp. But to be honest, this product left so much residue on my scalp that the benefits of being sulfate free were unnoticeable. The ends of my hair did seem much healthier but because my scalp looked like a huge greaseball, i was never able to wear my hair down... will not purchase again---and now i must invest in a really good clarifying shampoo to get all of the residue out.

I bought this product because I have a million flyaways and frizz due to living in a place that experiences humid summers. I have chemically bleached hair so I'm sure that adds to my dilemma, however, I thought I'd give this a try because it was cheaper than the other brands I have tried. I used it in combo with the intense smoothing conditioner. My hair felt great, it was soft and felt smooth (maybe a tad greasy), but it did nothing to control frizz/flyaways!! And it possibly weighed my hair down a bit too. After a week of trying I gave up on this product.

I've always used salon brands for my color treated hair, its been damaged & bleached, but this shampoo/ conditioner is by far the best I've ever used, also much cheaper! There's honestly some room for improvement: could cause breakouts for acne prone skin, doesn't lather well, & the scent is nothing special. However, it gives your hair a very clean feeling & doesn't leave any greasy residue. It could be a bit more moisturizing but this in combination with Moroccan Oil is great!

This is the best, and probably also the healthiest drugstore shampoo there is. Along with the whole eversleek line! This one in particular which is a smoothing one, does make my hair very smooth and soft and noticeably healthier after several uses. The reason being as you know is bc it is free of sulfates which is in most shampoos and is very drying for your hair. And yes like the lady below me said, it is not really supposed to lather up. Sulfates are what cause shampoos to lather. Also, this shampoo is healthy for your hair bc it has argan oil and olive oil in it. Its also very cheap. What more could you want! =D Yay

Ok, first things first...to the reviewers that say "This product doesn't lather up" you are silly. Its not SUPPOSED to! Google Soduim Laureth Sulfate, that is what makes shampoos (and other cleansers) gets sudsy. You will also notice that SLS causes cancer. Don't keep adding more and more shampoo trying to get it to lather, that is probably why their hair felt sticky and never washed clean. Duh! That being said, I LOVE this shampoo (and matching conditioner). I have been using Kerastase for years. Recently on vacation, I ran out of my regular S&C so I tried this on a whim. It was fantastic! It leaves my hair soft and smooth. I can even get away without straightening my hair! Granted it doesn't leave it as shiny as Kerastase, it is only 1/5 of the price. Perfect for girls who want great hair and are on a budget. Try it, you won't regret it!

The shampoo by itself is not the greatest, you have to use it with the eversleek conditioner. I was amazed with the results. My hair is super kinku during summer and it actually turned out not dead straight but sraight enough to go withour blowdrying. I would recommend it for girls with bipolar hair like me lol.

After using the EverSleek Intense Smooth shampoo and conditioner combo, I broke out horribly on my back. That was 4 months ago and I still have scars from the bad reaction. I liked that it was free of silicone and sulfates but the oils in this product caused my acne-prone skin to go haywire. I wouldn't recommend trying this if you're prone to breakouts or sensitive to oil-based products. That said, my hair felt smoother and more moisturized but there are other products out there that can produce the same effect without causing a skin reaction for me.

I did like this shampoo! It made my long (a but past half way down my back) curly frizzy hair feel clean, and soft. and it smells BEAUTIFUL. and most importantly healthy! But why the low rating? I does NOTHING at all for my frizz! and for me it was about $20 bucks for the shampoo and conditioner. wich for a product that does not do what it ays it does, and for such small bottles, Pretty expensive! I said that i would buy it again only because it did make my hair feel really good.

Background: I have fine strands of hair, but lots of them, so it looks like I have a full head of hair (LOL); normal to dry; naturally wavy/frizzy (hispanic hair).

I bought this shampoo + conditioner because it was being marketed by a Latina (J.LO.), so I thought it would be a good option for me as a fellow Latina. In short, I am underwhelmed.

Pros: Only shampoo I've ever used that made my hair noticeably FULLER/VOLUMINOUS. These products worked best if I styled my hair immediately after a shower. The scent is fantastic and gender-neutral.

Cons: If not styled immediately, my hair was dull, dry, and whispy. Left a greasy/oily residue on my hair and hands until styling was complete. My hair never felt truly clean. Had to supplement with a daily clarifying shampoo like Suave's to feel hair was clean. Have to use a TON of the shampoo to get a lather going. Hard to wash out completely.

While this product wasn't terrible, it didn't deliver on its promises. Maybe it should be marketed as a volume boost shampoo? I will not be purchasing this shampoo + conditioner again.

The first couple of days I used this shampoo, I loved it. It made my hair super shiny, soft, and my hair didn't feel like it needed a ton of leave-in conditioner like some drugstore shampoos do. However, when I got around the third or fourth day of using it, my hair started to get very greasy - like I hadn't washed it for a few days. My hair tends to get greasy pretty fast, like if I wash it in the morning it starts to get a little oily by the night. However, my hair was greasy straight out of the shower after using this for a few days. I want to love it, but I definitely don't love having greasy hair.

This is one of the least drying sulfate free shampoos I have found. I was getting too much buildup from my Hair One, and this works great for clarifying. Smells great too.

BEST cheap drugstore shampoo in the history of the world!

It SMELLS amazing, doesn't have sulfates, doesn't seem like a cheapie, isn't tested on animals and.... my hair looks incredible when I use it.

I have always had a good drugstore shampoo and a fancy salon-esque shampoo in my shower... I swap it up a bit...

L'oreal eversleek is inexpensive and delicious, I highly recommend it.

But... keep in mind, no under-12-dollar-shampoo ever creates a goddess of your hair unless you have perfect hair and weather :) So, mix it up.

There are several products in L'Oreal's Ever____ line. The shampoo I'm reviewing is: L'Oreal Hair Expertise EverSleek Sulfate-Free Smoothing System Reparative Smooth Shampoo. Whoah, that's a long name. Ok, this shampoo has changed my life. I have fine, thin, long, frizzy, wavy hair. I have always had to wash my hair every day because it was so flat and oily. This shampoo (in combination with a small amount of the matching conditioner) has made it so that I can wash my hair every other day (I can even get away with a third day if I want.) My hair feels thicker and less frizzy. I think it's because the sulfate-free shampoo doesn't strip my hair's protective oils. Regular shampoos do that, which causes the scalp to over-produce oil to replace the lost oils. The difference for me is unbelievable. I may try other shampoos in this line because I'm curious, but I think I've found my HG shampoo. Amazing!!!
