This is a very berry fragrance and quite sweet, but I think not too overwhelming. It smells really nicely - but I think that's it... It's true that - like others wrote before - it doesn't last long too, after an hour the smell is almost gone. That would probably explain the huge bottle too (it's only available in a 50 ml size - at least where I live) - because of course you tend to use more to keep the scent longer. The design of the bottle is so cute, but I would have expected something more special from Katy Perry.

I like Katy Perry but I'm not the type of person who goes crazy over perfumes just because they belong to a certain celebrity. They usually all smell similar to me and too floral for my liking. I was looking for perfume for me with my favorite notes (vanilla, coconut and sandalwood) and this popped up. I kind of brushed it off for a while but they had a bottle at Nordstrom's and I tried it out and am a proud owner of a purple cat. Smells divine on me, not too fruity and not too floral. I love it! The design of the bottle is cute, I guess, I don't like cats, but it's kinda sweet :P

well, i'm in my late 30's - and while I like Katy Perry - I'm not like "OMG I LOOOOOVE KATY PERRY!" that being said, I think the packaging is so super cute - I'm allergic to cats, so I kind of look at things like this with an "awh, a kitty I'm not allergic to!"

anyhow, I saw it, and immediately loved the bottle. a lot of people say its "like other celeb scents" but its not. Its fruity and warm, but not spicy. its creamy. a lot of the other celeb cents are stronger - this is more subtle, thus the name "Purr" I have smelled all celeb perfumes and the only other one I really like is SJP Lovely (this isn't anything like it though). I also think its rather inexpensive, which is nice. :)

It wears about 5 hours on me - its very subtle, so I still like to reapply...who wouldn't with a bottle like this?! so much fun. I hope Katy comes out with a body lotion - that would help intensify and extend the life of the scent. I'll repurchase and mention it to friends. super cute, smells good, doesn't offend - not my favorite ever, but in the top 5 for sure. :)

Finally got to smell the Katy Perry perfume in Boots. I was looking forward to this from many reviews floating around or by word of mouth that describe it as unusual, unique etc... so i was expecting something amazing, and to be honest, the bottle is adorable! So i spritzed this on and yes... it is a pleasant fruity fragrance BUT... it just smells exactly like all the other celebrity fruity perfumes, christina aguilera, britney etc.. Its nothing special, just a pleasant fruity fragrance. Its wearable and non offensive but the thing i am surprised at is the price... for a typical generic fruity fragrance, the price is £30 for a 50ml bottle and £45.00 for the 100ml!!! WOW!! For that price i would rather buy one of those expensive perfumes... definitely not worth the price, even though the bottle is adorable, its just a plastic and glass purple bottle shaped as a cat, surely not worth bumping the price up so high?!! Personally i wouldnt buy this at the price it is selling for... but if the price was £10 for a 30ml (i think that price and size is reasonable for what it is) and i was looking for a pleasant perfume i would buy this for sure. At this price i would rather get a nice quality perfume.

PURR is pure fruit on first application, both the peach and the apple are mouth wateringly sweet and very life-like. On me the peach is the strongest, but the fresher apple tones down the sweetness. I don't know what makes a apple forbidden - because it was what Adam and Eve ate? Anyway the apple here is fresh but still sweet. What I think is the bamboo quickly develops: It is watery but sweet [similar to coconut water]. I can also pick up a hint of something similar to musk, but I actually think this is the bamboo too.

The bamboo note is quite strong and carries all the through the perfume, so the floral notes remain mild and a bit watery, yet still fully developed and easy to pick out. On me the jasmine and freesia are the strongest notes, whilst the soft rose adds a slightly powdery effect. In addition to the florals the coconut milk mixes with the bamboo, lending the soft florals more depth. I'd also swear that there is rhubarb present too; I'm reminded of those boiled rhubarb custard sweets you used to get at the corner shop.

As the florals burn down the coconut milk accord fully develops and becomes richer, sweeter and creamier thanks to the amber, sandalwood and ever-present bamboo. I can detect the lightest hint of musk but it's quickly lost underneath the creaminess, but I can't separate the vanilla [orchid], but everything else is sweet and creamy so I wasn't really expecting to.

Scent notes: Peach, 'forbidden' apple, gardenia, green bamboo, jasmine, pink freesia, Bulgarian rose, vanilla orchid, creamy sandalwood, white amber, coconut and musk.

True; PURR is never going to become a classic fragrance and the scent notes have all appeared in countless other perfumes over the years, but it is an all year round, all occasions, reasonably priced EDP that comes in a cute and unique bottle. To me that beats out the expensive, statement perfumes that make up the best-sellers list.

I do not care for Katy Perry. I do not care for her music, her style or her general portrayed ethos. But I enjoy her perfume a lot! My friend (a much bigger perfume junkie than I) bought this and I saw it on her dresser. The bottle is ADORABLE. I am not really into hokey things such as this usually but the bottle alone is worth owning. I sprayed on wrists and shrugged. Fruity. Floral. Peppy. Boring. My friend disagreed wholeheartedly but I refused to say it was worthy... Until the drydown! It morphs quite a bit. Give it a chance. It morphs within 30 minutes into a SOFT, slightly sweet but non-foody delight. It reminds me of egyptian goddess by auric blends. It really does! But its better because it is stronger which isnt saying much since the auric blends is sooooo light. And it is different. But similar. Those of you that call it brash and immature...maybe it is your chemistry. Maybe you didnt give it enough of a chance. Or perhaps it is your opinion. But the smell I smelled was very good, soft and would fit with quite a wide range of women.

I think i have figured out why this fragrance is called Purr. I think it's because it is a very soft fragrance. A fragrance that does not scream at you or force you to notice it. It does not have mega sillage nor does it last for hours and hours and hours. Maybe if Katy Perry wanted a super strong perfume with a huge amount of sillage it would be called meow because meow's can be peircing and shrill sometimes but that is not what Purr is. It's a very fruity fragrance. When i first tried it what i immediately thought it was like taking a bite out of a fresh, ripe apricot. I then read the list of notes and realized what i was detecting was peach. A soft beautiful peach. Purr has the most realistic peach note i have ever smelled in a fragrance. As it dries down little flowers start to appear but the peach note stays. The bottle is absolutely stunning and is a work of art in itself. Overall, a very nice first scent for Katy.

I love Katy and wanted to smell this, so I went to Nordstrom's not knowing what to expect. I LOVE it. The fragrance is a fruity floral mixed with something else I can't put my finger on. Something sexy. It reminds me of a more fruity version of Victoria's Secret Heavenly. The price is actually REALLY good for the quality of the product you get. The large bottle was $65 and came with a free large purse size version. The bottle itself is ADORABLE. Easily the cutest perfume bottle I've ever seen. Definitely try it out if you can or get a small size one on ebay to try it out if you don't live by a Nordstrom's. It's a Nordstrom's exclusive.

I wanted to like this so bad. Katy Perry is awesome -- love her music, love her personality, unfortunately, I don't love Purr.

The bottle is super cute and I almost bought it just because I loved the bottle so much. However, the scent of Purr just wasn't up to par.

I'm someone who's open to a lot of different kinds of scents, but I stay away from generic ones at all costs. Purr is not only generic, it doesn't have staying power. I spritz a couple of time on my neck and my wrists. After an hour stroll in Nordstrom, the scent was dull at best, if I could smell anything at all.

Very disappointing.

Gorgeous scent! Lovely creamy fruity gardenia like scent. I dont even like gardenias! Even though it is generic its worth the try - has something about it which made me want to try again. I need to re test once my nose has cleared up as i have a slight cold. It appears to last long too!

I just got this yesterday and had to have it (mainly for the bottle). I wanted it to me more fruity, and less floral, but it's most flora. I am not fond of floral, I like fruity and sweet. The top is very flora and the dry down is more sweet. I put it on at 9am and it's already faded almost away at 11am. I would buy again for the novelty, but it's not the best perfume I have had. Cute bottle though!

I tested this out today at Nordstrom, and was very disappointed. I really wanted to like this - not because of Katy Perry, but because I think the bottle is adorable. Unfortunately, this is just an average smelling fruity-floral. Very generic smelling; it smells like it could be any perfume, because there's really nothing distinctive about it. With that said, it's probably going to be quite popular because of the fact that it is an ordinarily pleasant fragrance in a cute bottle, so it has mass appeal (think Viva la Juicy). Lasting power was really poor on my skin as well; it only lasted a couple of hours on me. Too bad, so sad...

I was afraid it would be just another ho-hum celebrity fragrance, but I love it. I sprayed it on at Nordstrom and shopped awhile to see how it dried down, lasted, and worked with my body chemistry. It is very creamy and none of the notes seem to overpower the others. And it lasted for several hours, which many of my fragrances do not. My husband loved it when he smelled it on me several hours later, and when I sprayed it on again. I would definitely repurchase.

I friggin' love this stuff. I just came across it today, by chance, when I was in Nordstrom. Of course the bottle totally caught my eye, but when I sprayed it I loved it *immediately.* I actually did a little dance in the store, I was so pleased with it! It's not particularly complicated--an initial burst of sweet, juicy fruit; some creamy floral, with vanilla all the way through; sandalwood coming out more toward the end with the vanilla staying put. It is a creamy sweet/fruit blend that is slightly sophisticated. For reference, some fragrances I love/like a lot include Hanae Mori (love), Queen (love), Flowerbomb (love--Purr almost reminds me of a slightly less intense Flowerbomb with sweet fruits and vanilla) Miss Dior Cherie, Lush Vanillary, Fancy, Viva La Juicy, and Princess. I think this fragrance will do very well. It's not a young girly scent but certainly not what can be labeled as mature. Sweet and fruity scent lovers will likely adore this. I love it.

Both my mother and I sampled this fragrance today. My mother thought it smelled very familiar and I took a couple sniffs and recognized a strong similarity to the Gardenia Lily line from Bath and Body Works, which my mother uses. There's brief fruitiness in the top notes, then it's pretty much all floral (a lot of gardenia- if that wasn't obvious from my previous comment). The base notes were nearly undetectable on me, I didn't get coconut or vanilla. I'm not sure the target market for this fragrance wants to smell so flowery- I notice a lot of young reviewers interpret that as "mature".

It's not bad by any means, but I hardly find it unique or enticing enough to own.

Two additional observations:
- it lasts at least several hours on me
- the bottle looked and felt like a toy.

Top notes: peach, forbidden apple, gardenia and green bamboo

Heart notes: jasmine, pink freesia and Bulgarian rose

Base notes: vanilla orchid, creamy sandalwood, white amber, coconut, and musk.
