I love this thing! I bought it yesterday at Sephora but I initially went in for the nars orgasm illuminater and wasnt very pleased with the texture of that because it almost felt like I was putting on aloe vera gel (like the one for sunburns) not only that I didnt undertand what all the great raves were about cause when I sampled it on my hand it was very sheer and I understand it is supposed to be but this was extremely sheer and it gave me very liitle sparkle but not much and I def would not say it was anything close to looking like a dewy look, not even close. So I then decided to look around at the other brands illuminaters and see what I can find I looked at and tested a few and was just getting ready to leave the store after about 40 minutes and dissapointed that I did not find one that really got me excited about buying, then I look over to my right where the benefit section was and figured I might as well give it a shot,(so glad I did) I found and tested this illuminater and loved the texture, scent, color,(EVERYTHING).I cant say enough good things about it,oh and it comes in a cute pink twist bottle.

This gives such a beautiful glow without being over the top. This is NOT A PRIMER! It's a highlighter. Maybe everyone is getting it confused because the packaging is similar to That Gal?

Love this. A friend bought me Moon Beam for Christmas and, because I already have a half-used bottle of that in my make up stash, I swapped it for this. And very happy with my swap I am, too! It's a pretty colour, applied either as a highlighter or a primer, and as always with Benefit stuff, the packaging is lovely.

Another thing: I also thought Girl Meets Pearl was more than a little reminiscent of Holloywood Glo, which Benefit discontinued a while ago now. Perhaps a litle pinkier than that, but similar all the same.

All in all, me like-y, and I suspect I will re-purchase when it runs out.

I bought this on a whim being I needed a highlighter to add to my collection. I went to my local sephora to look around at first and automatically went to the Benefit counter because their products are usually most known for their lip stains and highlighters. I swatched highbeam and moonbeam but both were either too strong or too sheer to even show up. Of course this is where I noticed the Girl Meets Pearl showcase. They didnt have a tester so I went up to the clerk to tell her if there was any sort of tester I could use to see how it would look and in the end she gave me a teensy sampler. Well let me tell you a teensy sampler lasted me a good 6 uses!! WOWZA man! A little goes a long way here. Even though its listed as a face primer I only use it as a highlighter for my brow bone, cheek bones, nose bridge, cupids bow, and chin. After putting it on it leaves a natural glow to me face making me look instantly awake. In the sunlight one could tell you highlighted your face being there is a noticeable sheen of "glitter" but being indoors most of the day you cant see any signs of obvious shine. Instead your left with a finely milled shiny golden/pink glow instead of those cheap-o chunky glitter highlights most companies provide. I ended up buying the full size product and even though I wont run out in the next year most likely, I would totally repurchase any day.

Very good one. Its is very light and subtle and at the same time it creates a profound glow. And I never have a problem to smudge the contour, like with some highlighters..

I use both this and High Beam depending on my mood. I have fair skin, and on me this particular highlighter is a bit more subtle than High Beam, so I use it sparingly over my blush (on my cheeks and on the tip of my nose) every day. I like the pinky flush of color it adds to my cheeks...and perhaps I don't use as much as the others below...but I don't detect any scent? As for the cost, it is what hindered me from buying it. It's hard to shell out $30.00. Oh, well..as you can see, I did it anyway. :) I would buy it again; I am addicted to Benefit's stuff.

I was so excited to try this cause of the description and the pretty package (im a sucker for pretty packaging! lol). Slightly disappointed. Gives nice shimmer but feels kinda heavy. I prefer the nars orgasm illuminator over this hands down cause they look similar on my skin and nars is lighter and more moisturizing. I'm considering returning this to sephora. Don't get me wrong it is nice. I just want something that doesn't feel so heavy. Smells awesome though.

*haven't reached for this at all since i've had it, but i tried it today blended over my bare minerals blush in vintage pearl (my staple blush!). I used a bit more than when I originally tried this and it really added a nice golden glow to my face. i'm loving this product, however wouldn't purchase again because I probably wouldn't need to.

I'm not sure I would buy this again, but I do like it. Mostly, it's because it's definitely an eveningwear kind of highlighter, and I don't really dress up enough to call for a dedicated highlighter. That said, like its sister "That Gal", Girl Meets Pearl is packaged in the same kind of twist tube (an alluring Barbie metallic pink), and goes on smoothly. It is definitely a gold/yellow based pigment, with a slight shimmer, and it can be mixed with That Gal to tone it down. Still, I found it really too shimmery for everyday wear, and while it looked great on my yellow-undertoned skin, I just wasn't swept away by it.

The best highlight benefit have released, but still nothing special. On my NC42 skintone its a colourless liquid with fine golden shimmers. Looks natural whilst giving a subtle glow, not garish at all. You don't get much product for the price, however, the packaging is so gorgeous! The smell of the product itself is like raspberry, very yummy. Unsure as to weather I'd repurchase...I can get much cheaper dupes.

I absolutely LOVE this product! It has the cutest packaging (as all benefits products do) and the bottom clicks for the product to disperse through the holes at the top and it's just the littlest amount. The actual product is more of a champagne/light bronze color (I'm very fair so that's how it looks on me). At first, when you first blend it, it looks more metallic but then when it dries it's shimmery. I use it as a highlighter because I personally don't like to have shimmer ALL over my face, but that doesn't mean it doesn't look good on other people! It makes my cheeks glowy looking and just absolutely gorgeous in all lighting.

OMG! It's like a pinky gold sparkly High Beam in a twist up... I seriously heart this! Mixed with tinted moisturise it looks amazing, but make sure you prime first. Would repurchase.

Benefit's Girl Meets Pearl is wonderful! Although everybody seems to use it as a primer, i don't get that idea. Its a nice shimmer, not too much, so putting foundation over the top of it defeats the purpose doesn't it? You might as well use That Gal instead? I don't know, im not sure :P But as a highlighter, it AMAZING. This applies so well along the nose, the cheekbones and the sides of the jaw in small quantities. The twist cap, if not twisted too much prevents wastage *thumbs up*.

And the packaging - oh my god, its beautiful! The golden pink glow is so luminous, especially at night. The smell is divine as well. While, like most Benefit things, this is overpriced, its one o those Benfit items you just have to try and or get. Just make sure you don't use it in conjunction with powder. The Benefit girl told me powder and this goes cakey, so if you need a bit of colour in the cheeks, she suggested moisturisng the area first (so she put You Rebel on the cheeks), followed by a little Porefessional and then Posietint. Let that dry then let Girl Meets Pearl work its magic.

Overall, a beautiful product, but seems pretty expensive and pointless as a primer, to cover up all the glittering goodness. This is your new best Highlighter friend. Worth the price indisputably in my books :) I'm definitely repurchasing and hope they never discontinue or they'll have one angry girl! :P

I cannot say enough good things about this product!! i absolutely love it! previously i was alternating between nars copacabana multiple and benefit high beam as a highlight and i thought they were both brilliant.. but i've hardly touched either of them since i bought girl meets pearl!
I've been using it mostly as a highlight on my cheek bones.. but i've also tried it over the face (blended with a tinted moisturiser) to give an all over, healthy glow which was really pretty as well.
i think the packaging is adorable in true benefit style.. however you have to be careful not to twist too far or too much product will be released.

all in all.. it works fabulously, leaving a luminous glow which looks gold in some light. i will definitely repurchase!!

If you, like me, have been trying to decide between High Beam and Moon Beam (or you are just looking for a nice glow), then this might be the product for you! I would describe this as 2 parts Moon Beam and 1 part High Beam. It's the perfect happy medium. It's not quite as frosty as High Beam, but it's not quite as pink/yellow as Moon Beam. It still has a bit of that opalescent glow, but it's not over-the-top.

This product can be applied over or under your makeup. I like using it under my makeup for a more subtle glow. I also like using it over my makeup, just on the cheekbones and cupid's bow, for a slightly more dramatic highlight. It's so versatile! It can be used all over the face, or just on key highlight areas. (I wouldn't use it all-over if you're using it over your makeup though.) It's also very buildable. It can be used sheerly or built up. I think it would also work well mixed in with a liquid foundation or a tinted moisturizer, but I haven't tried that yet. It smells delicious, but the scent doesn't linger after it dries.

The packaging gets a 4 out of 5 from me. I like the twist up better than the nail polish-like containers Benefit's other luminizers have, because I think you'll waste less product that way. However, a squeeze tube might be better, idk. You also have to twist it up quite a bit at first (as with any twist up makeup product).

At $30 this is a bit more expensive than High Beam or Moon Beam ($24). (They contain .45oz, while this contains .4oz. This isn't a huge difference, but I thought it worth mentioning.)

I might not have tried it if ULTA hadn't been offering an amazing gift-with-purchase and free shipping over $25, but I'm glad I did. It'll take me forever to get through this, since it takes so little, but I will probably repurchase it and I would definitely recommend it.

Overall: 5 lippies, I LOVE it!!!

This is the PERFECT glow for me, it's a perfect mixture of the pink and yellow from High Beam and Moon Beam. It makes dewy and ethereal complexion. My only gripe is that it's too expensive for how little it contains inside. Otherwise, it's perfect!
