One of the best skincare finds... ever! I have super oily skin that wants to be breakout prone if I don't keep on top of it. I've been using high end and super high end cleansers which are great... but this very inexpensive, widely available extremely basic cleanser beats them all. Provides lots of foam and leaves my face clean without over-drying it. I love the pump dispenser and it's excellent size for the price so it's very economical. I will definitely repurchase this one.
UPDATE: after using this for three months I still LOVE it. I'm now on oral medication which has lessened how oily my face it but I *still* love this cleanser I just repurchased and probably will keep buying it since it works just as well as all the high-end, pricey cleansers I loved before trying it.

I like this face wash because it rinses clean and doesn't leave my skin feeling dry and crackly. However, if you're looking for something that clears up acne, try something medicated with salicylic acid. This doesn't make you break out, but it doesn't clear acne.

I've been using this product for about 3 months. I really wanted to like it because it seemed like it would be good for my aging/acne-prone skin. The cleanser itself feels good on your skin and seems to remove makeup adequately. However, I've noticed that my pores seem to be more clogged w/ more blackheads/whiteheads, and I've had an increase in cystic acne. At first, I thought it was just hormonal changes, stress, etc, but I discontinued using it last week and went back to my old standby, Alpha Hydrox Foaming Face Wash, and my skin has cleared up substantially.

I'm surprised but I really like this product!! My usual rhassoul clay soap was drying me out after using for a couple of years and I got a weird skin reaction from some new natural mineral makeup I had tried so I needed something asap. I didnt want to wait for an online product so I went to the drugstore and picked this up for about $12. The bottle is huge and will last like forever. So its been about 5 or 6 weeks and this stuff is great. Foams very easy and doesnt dry out my skin or make me break out. In fact, I think it has helped my skin balance and hang on to its moisture better. Since this stuff is so cheap too, I can splurge on other things like serums and moisturizers. Overall, this is a great, uncomplicated facial wash that I think would be great for all skin types even sensitive which I have. The one thing it does not do is remove eye makeup well so dont expect that. I use my Fancl Mild Cleansing gel for that and the Cerave is a great follow up so your face feels really clean and hydrated. Like I said, the bottle will last forever but when I run out, I will def buy again :)

This product has compelled me to write my first review ever after visiting this board for many years! This cleanser is fantastic for my aging, acne-prone skin! Yes, i am still battling acne at my age, and this cleanser has calmed my skin like no other product I've tried. My pores are much less congested only after using for a few days and seem to be a lot less noticeable. I love that this cleanser leaves my face feeling clean but not tight or dry. Highly recommend!

I have combination skin that leans more towards dry that is also sensitive. I need something to removed oil and makeup, but some cleansers are too harsh and make me dry and flakey. This is really the prefect balance. It does not make me break out, it doesn't dry my skin, and it cleanses really well. I actually started using this at the recommendation of my grandmother from whom I inherited my dry sensitive skin. A definite repurchase for me. It's a really big bottle, and will last several months.

I guess my skin isn't normal enough to be considered 'normal' on this bottle claiming for normal to oily . I was looking for something to replace my olay sensitive as it left a slight film on my face. This didn't leave that film and rinsed clean but after using it a few successive days I notice drier skin, I don't like the taught feeling it leaves. Although olay left a slight film it never made me too dry. My search continues . Also I noticed a few more white heads than usual. I deem this the culprit . Oh well.
Changing my rating from 2 to 4 Stars.
Tried this again and it doesnt dry my skin out, or give me white heads. It's slightly more expensive than my olay but i love the huge size. What i don't like is that it takes about 3-4 pumps of this stuff to get a nice lather to cover my whole neck and face. initial down payment for this cleanser is expensive, about 11 bucks.

This is my new favourite face cleanser. it doesn't look fancy and I don't feel prestige while using it. However, it is practical and gentle. It cleans my face without stripping my skin dry. It doesn't irritat my skin esp skin around my eyes when there is ezcema. It doesn't sting my eyes at all even the cleanser gets into my eyes. It is inexpensive. The only bad thing about this product is the packaging, it looks really plain and boring. But I don't mind because I won't take my bottle of cleanser out to show off.

I must say....this is an awesome cleanser! I purchased this one for evening use and the Hydrating one for am use. It foams up quite nicely with my Clarisonic. I was also worried it would really be drying to my skin but it felt great! I really like the Hydrating version but I wear waterproof make up during the day and needed something more foaming to remove my make up. In the am I really don't need to do anything but hydrate while I cleanse. This is definately worth a try for sure. I have recently been diagnosed with Eczema and Seborreic Dermatitis. I have to be very careful what I use on my skin. I think I finally found my HG!

HG. Seriously I have never said that about any type of skin cleanser until now. I have tried all sorts of things from DS to High end products. Anything that claimed to be "gentle" sucked me in. My skin is all over the place. It can be oily at times and it can be SUPER dry at times. It is really sensitive too. This totally balances out my skin and leaves it fresh. My skin has cleared up and my mildly Rosacea looking skin is now even and calm without a hint of irritation.

I think the best part about this cleanser is that it has no effect on my skin. I haven't noticed any skin clearing from it, but I don't mind that as long as it doesn't break me out. It hasn't broken me out. It's also not too drying. It IS a bit... tightening? Not drying, per se.
The second best part about it is that it removes makeup! Hooray! Most cleansers that do that are super drying and irritating. It lathers up very well, even with hard water (so it helps me avoid superscrubbing.. which causes me to break out). This stuff does what I need it to do, and does it well. Can't ask for anything better than that... well, except for it to clear my skin. I don't think any cleanser is up to that task, though.

I dont mean to gush, but this is the best cleanser I have ever used.
It gently cleanses my skin leaving it soft and smooth.
My skin has looked alot better since I have been using this product.I have not broken out since using this.
This is better than Cetaphil which broke me out.

Perfect. Gentle, effective, nondrying. Only thing to keep in mind is if you wear makeup u need to remove it first as this is not a makeup remover. If u do that its the best ever in the best package imo

i'm starting to experience the over-40, hormonal, temperamental skin issues and decided to try the cerave foaming cleanser. so glad i did! it has a great consistency (just feels good going on the skin), fragrance-free, and leaves my skin feeling clean without feeling dry and stripped. it's a really nice drugstore product. will definitely buy again, and am recommending to others.

I was really impressed with this cleanser. Usually everything new that I try on my skin makes me break out, but this product didn't. That's one of the reasons I'm giving it 5 lippies. It's an amazing makeup remover. I use it in the morning and at night. It doesn't dry out my skin and I've totally noticed a difference in my skin since I started using it. My skin has gotten a lot smoother & softer. I had some milia on my cheeks that I got from EL double wear & this cleanser has minimized those bumps tremendously!. I'm still on my 1st bottle, it definitely lasts a long time. It is a bit pricey for a drugstore product (I paid around $15+tax) but then again, you get 12 oz. of product so you're pretty much getting your money's worth. Most high end cleansers are double and sometimes even triple this price & you only get around 6 oz. this product is definitely a steal. I would recommend this product to those with sensitive/ acne prone skin. This definitely has become my HG cleanser & I don't think I will ever use another cleanser again! :)

Eh..It's okay. I bought it because I recently got a chemical peel and couldn't use my current aesthetician's skin care line b/c it had SA and GA. I even used this a couple weeks after I had already peeled & it made my face itch really bad and cause a rash. I am either going to return it on put it up for swap b/c I didn't care for this at all. It didn't remove all my make up either. [Btw, I use make up wipes & emr every time before I cleanse my face]. When I used my GA and SA pads after washing my face, there was still dirt and make up on it! This never happens when I use my face wash that I normally use. Needless to say I am going back to my other face wash since my skin is not peeling anymore.

This stuff is really good! I was skeptical at first, but it was really foamy and cleansed my face easily. All my makeup came off without scrubbing too much! Doesn't sting my eyes or anything. Definitely will buy again?

Interesting things happen with my skin and "stuff"... well last year sometime I tried using this cleanser at the suggestion of a "PA" at the dermatologist... everything he prescribed disrupted my skin - so I walked away upset saying this "stuff" is horrible for my face. Then I had this hormonal outbreak and went to another dermatologist this yr (a few weeks ago) and she prescribed a hydrocortisone cream (watsed my $$) for the breakout.... I was upset that she didn't do any massive diagnosis so I went home & scrapped up everything in my bathroom to "fix" my face... ran across this Cerave cleanser and some Acanya (antibiotic face cream) and went to town using it... Nevertheless the cleanser and cream worked; hence I bought another bottle of cerave for $13 and have been washing away... New found cleanser --- now I've just added the night cleanser wipes from Nuetrogena to my lazy late night wash regimen.... so I will give this a 5 rating until I have a facial blow-up and can't blame it on anything else.

This is my new favorite cleanser. I've used it for a couple of months now, and it's just so perfect for my sensitive, combination skin. It cleans well, even removing my light makeup, and it rinses easily, leaving no film, and yet it also doesn't dry out or irritate my skin.
Update: For several years my husband has been suffering from rashes on his body that the doctors could not identify and that prescription creams did not heal. When I went out of town on business for a month and left him without body wash in the shower, he started using the CeraVe Foaming Cleanser that I'd left as his body wash. When I returned, he suddenly realized that the stubborn rashes were gone. Always curious about other products, I was considering trying another cleanser, but I'll be sticking with CeraVe Foaming Cleanser for face and body now.

I prefer this CeraVe foaming cleanser to my previous cleanser that I had been using for the past 2 years, which was Dan Kern's Acne.org cleanser.. The CeraVe foaming cleanser does not make my face feel tight and dry and like I must immediately apply moisturizer directly after washing, but it does remove my mineral makeup just as well, which is great! Pretty sure it's my new favorite and is now a permanent part of my skincare routine until further notice!
